Yes, it is rare for me to dislike a book but I think I dislike this series. I have read this volume and will finish the second volume but I'm having some difficulty.
It reads like backwards day and has the same problems. It is fun for a few minutes but then it really gets on my nerve. The idea is that there is a demon world where school for demons has the opposite rules. Kids are not to go to school and are supposed to be disobedient. The main character wants to defeat his father, the Overlord, by becoming a hero because heroes defeat demons.
A hero drops in and hilarity ensues. The issue I have is the balance between the graphics and the words. I like a book where either can tell the complete story and for me not to rely on the recaps to understand what happened. I'm not averse to action or some ambiguity but this book pushes it too far for me.
So due to tired backwards day and opacity in the story, I will be stopping after I finish the next volume.
I didn't really enjoy this book, I will probably read the 2nd volume just to finish the series, but honestly the art at points ain't that great & sometimes looks like some fanfic I'd see on Tumblr, as for the story I'm not sure if the writer ever played the game or just wanted to go in a different direction but it's more like a parallel dimension.
