Speechless! Heart ache! An amazing book!
• →A love story of Major Shahdab and Ayesha. How Major Shadab falls for Ayesha, a widow and 11 years his senior, and tries everything to marry her and win her love. And how Ayesha continuously refuses the advances of Major Shadab, tormented by her past two relations and pressures of society and family.
•→ She convinced a spoiled teenager shadab to continue his education journey due to his mother's helplessness but that favour turned out to be the biggest trouble when shadab confessed his love for her after his matriculation.She then promised to marry him on some conditions but years later when shadab fulfilled all the conditions she stepped back.

مینے یہ پہلے لائن ایکسگریٹ کرنے کے لیے نہیں لکھی ،بلکہ بہت سوچ سمجھ کر لکھی ہے
اس کہانی کا لکھنے کا مقصد ڈھونڈنے کے لیے مینے سارے کہانی پڑھی اور یقین مانے بہت پچھتوائے کے ساتھ کہنا پر رہا ہے کہ اس کہانی کا کوئی مقصد نا تھا (میرا وقت ضائع کرنے کے علاوہ)مینے یہ کہانی اپنے دوست کے کہنے پر شروعات کی تھی ،یہ سوچ کر کہ کیا ہی برا ہوسکتا ہے اور یہ بی کہ مینے بہت تعریف سنی تتھی اسکی اردو بکسٹاگرام پرانہی چیزو کو ذہن میں رکھ کر مینے پڑھنا شرور کیا ،میں جھوٹ نہیں بولوگی شروعات میں کہانی اچھی جارہی تھی ،لکھنے کا اندازِ بیاں یو تھا کہ آپ آگئے پڑھنے پر مجبور ہوجاتے تھے ،کہانی کی مرکزی کردار ،”عائشہ “کہانی کو اپنے نظریے سے بیان کر رہی تھی ،لمحے کے لئے اسکے لئے افسوس بی ہوا ،مجھے اس مقام پر مصنفہ سے کافی امید ہوئ کہ شاید یہ ایک سبق آمیز کہانی کی شکل اختیار کرے ،پر پھر آتے ہے ہمارے دوسرے مرزاکی کردار “شاداب خان آفریدی “(نام لکھنے مے بی شرم آرہی ہے مجھے)اور یہا سے شروعات ہوتی ہے بربادی کہانی کی ۰
شاداب اور عائشہ کی ملاقات سے لیکر آخر تک انکا رشتہ بہت کرنج ،بہت بیبونیاد تھا جسکو محبت کا نام دیا گیا تھا پر ،کسی بی عقلمند انسان کو وہ محبت نہیں ہارمفل آبسیشن لگےگا (وہ ہے)اور یہ سب میں ایجگیپ کو لیکر نہیں کہہ رہی
شاداب بظاہر ایک نارمل سا آرمی میجر تھا پر ،منصفہ نے اسکو ایسے لکھا ہے کہ بار بار اسکی حرکتیں،اسکی فیصلے کو بہت بری طرح سے جسٹیفائی کیا گیا ہے . ،اس کہانی میں زن بیزاری ،ٹاکسک مسکولینٹی کو بہت سبٹل انداز میں پروموٹ کیا گیا ہے ۰یہ سب پڑھ کر آپ سوچ رہے ہونگے ،ارے کیا ہوگیا فکشن ہی تو ہے ،پر اس صدی میں یہ بات پر لوگ ہاسے گے،کیوں کہ اسپر باقاعدہ ریسرچ موجود ہے کہ جو آپ سنتے ہے پڑھتے ہے اسکا عصر آپکی سوچ آپکی انٹلیکٹ آپکی ججمنٹ پر پڑھتا ہے
آخر میں یہ کہوگی کہ کوئی بی اس کتاب کو نا پڑھے ،یہ کتاب کنٹروورسیل نہیں پرمبلمٹک ہے بہت طریقوں سے اور اسکو مشرے مے نا پھیلنا میرا فرض ہے

There were lot of things which was shown harsh and realistic, few scenes felt bit cringe but still the tragic fate of Ayesha and the unrequited love and death of Shadab were deeply Lamentable.

Giving it 4.5 star. "Jaan" written by Shaheena Chanda Mehtaab. what can I say about this novel..? It's just amazing, heart warming, emotional too. I can say this is an underrated novel, she wrote such different novels not like the usual social romance.
Now Let's talk about characters :
Aayesha and Major Shadab Khan Afridi are main lead.
Ayaaz was good enough,(fiance of Aayesha), Kadeer was something beyond emotions(Friend of Ayaaz), Firoz (Cousin of Aayesha) is actually the character I found very loyal.
And the last one Major Shadab...feel so sorry for him. That little Fawad (Shadab's son), and the relationship between Shadab and Fawad, Fawad and Aayesha, Aayesha and Shadab literally made us very emotional, For some readers ending was not good but still it left an everlasting impact on readers. I can say that this is an unforgettable novel.

Tbh i did not like like this book as much. Starting this book, keep in mind that this is not at all a happy romantic book. Then i think the writer had some serious issues with the famale protagonist Ayesha. At the end of the novel, Ayesha really deserved a man in her life that she had gone through so much in her life. Also the people who did wrong with ayesha (azra and Ayesha's brother especially) deserved karma. It was a nice read but not the best in my view.
