This is the manga adaptation of a light novel with same name, "Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru." or "My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected". It is also known by the short form, "Oregairu". There is also an anime adaptation of the novel which also has the alternate name of "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU".
I found myself with this manga after watching the first two seasons of the anime, and I was curious how different each adaptation would despite drawing from the same well. In this first volume, there were subtle differences in presentation. For one, time and date progression were clearly indicated in the manga while in the anime, time seemed to overlap into another.
Anyway, this series would be notable for its main protagonist. Hachiman has a pessimistic view of life and a misanthropic tendency towards social gatherings. For a romantic comedy, it's a novel approach to have such a character as a main lead. He has such an interesting take on life and an approach to solving problems that I look forward to each new case he encounters. You woldd root for him as he rains the snark on the popular kids he can't find himself associating.
I'll be reading the next volume, because Hachiman has one interesting interaction coming up soon if the anime was any indicator.
