So in love with the story of Ruby and Brent...!!!

Although this is a novella, Renee managed to pack so may intense moments into it. I fell in love with Ruby and Brent in After Tuesdayand at the end of that one I felt warm and happy about where they were as a couple. They had been through quite a lot already but still had a bright future ahead of them.

When Forgotten Yesterday starts out.. we see that 5 years has passed since graduation and it's not been all hearts and roses for them..it's been devastating and full of thorns.

Although a lot of time has passed, Renee does a beautiful job of going back and forth between the past and the present to show us what happened to put Ruby and Brent in the place they are today. She gives us brief moments between then and now that show us how much they are in love with each other..then those moments where things start crumbling around them. My heart broke....

But all is not lost. It beautifully clear how much Ruby and Brent still love each other. I cannot wait for the next book to see what Renee has in store for them.

If you read After Tuesday, you ABSOLUTELY MUST READ THIS ONE!! You will LOVE seeing Brent and Ruby again. Renee shows us that sometimes the road to a "Happily Ever After" is filled with twists that can throw you off course. But it's all about the journey there that can make us stronger in the end. And that's what I'm hoping for here..

Omg! This was really good! I had to skim through, After Tuesday before reading this, because I had forgotten quite a few things. But once I started the novella, I was sucked in. I couldn't believe four years had passed since the last book and to be honest, I thought I wouldn't like how much time had passed. But I actually ended up really enjoying it.

Ruby has grown up since then, and I liked her more now because of it. But something had happened four years ago that caused Ruby and Brent to part ways. Something that made me want to know so badly. I absolutely loved the writing in this novella. The story went from present to past in a way that did not annoy me, at all. I kept looking forward to those parts in the past because I slowly got to know what it was that happened.

I enjoyed the connection that Ruby and Brent still shared after all these years. There was a bit of steam, some hilarious moments (especially one part about a hot dog stand), and a sad heartbreaking moment (I felt for them deeply). It was really short, but it was a novella, after all. And that ending just left me wanting so much more. The novella had a realistic feel to it that I really liked. I was not expecting their story to go the direction that it did, but I liked it nonetheless. I can't wait to see how things will work out for these two.

Forgotten Yesterday (These Days) BY Renee Ericson
I received an ARC copy of this book :)

Forgotten Yesterday is a beautiful love story between Ruby Miller and Brent. In this book the past and the present collide together to present what happened to those couple. All the love and the regret, the passion and compassion, and all the sorrow that made them who they are today.

there are many things that naturally i didn't like about this book: it was too short to fully tell everything there is to say about those two. Another thing is that i felt like the writer kept moving in circle when it comes to those two. I mean let them have their happily ever after already!!

I honestly didn't feel the need to put on and extra book to continue their story. 3 more chapter could have been enough to give that HEA every one is waiting for.

The characters element in this book was missing. There was only Ruby and Brent, it could have been appreciated to have more depth in other characters.

Big thank you for Renee Ericson for the ARC copy. And Good luck in your other projects .
Check the book out.

"I am lost and I am found-plunging deep into the jagged cavern of our forgotten yesterday."

Oh WOW... This book sucked me in from the very beginning and I didn't want to put it down. At this moment I'm having issues even taking the time to write this review because I NEED to dive into the next book to see how everything plays out. This story was intense, it was everything I love in a book. Forgotten Yesterday packs an emotional punch that had my heart aching, my eyes glistening, and a lump in my throat.

"Everyone's life has major events and he's linked with my biggest tragedy."

This story also caused me to feel butterflies and excitement, the glimmer of hope.

Brent and Ruby have faced so many challenges, had so much thrown at them at such a young age. The kind of connection they share is rare and beautiful.

My heart is still sore from experiencing their emotions and devastation.

"Further in, looming somewhere underneath his outward expression, lies a hint of regret and sorrow. I can see it. I can feel it. We're both so lost-looking to be found."

I devoured this book and plan to start the next one immediately. I love the way this story is written. The writing style is phenomenal. This author knows how to evoke emotion with few words that truly knock you off of your seat. I can't get enough of Brent and Ruby. I highly recommend this story!

Where to begin with this one??? Ruby and Brent, make my heart so very happy but they also make it hurt so hard for them. I absolutely love how Renee makes these characters so realistic and when we join them after - After Tuesday, life has gone on. From the opening chapter you know something seriously distressing must have occurred because of where these two are. You also know that their story is far from over. Renee did a wonderful job of weaving in the past and catching us up to where they are now and why. I won't say much else as I don't think I can without giving things away. If the joys and struggles that these two have faced don't grab your heart then you must have a cold-cold soul! I absolutely cannot wait for book 3 although I am going to be so utterly sad to see these two go. This was yet another example of how to do New Adult right!!!

(I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.)

Forgotten Yesterday is not a standalone. It is a novella that continues the saga of now older and more mature Ruby and Brent, who we first met in After Tuesday as high school students. The novella contains mature themes.

At first readers may find the style of writing where the author switches back and forth from past to present storyline a little challenging. However, Ericson did an admirable job in the way she has chosen to fill in the five-year period between the time we left our young lovers in book one and where we find them now. It certainly keeps one deeply drawn to the story looking for answers to the what, why, and how questions.

Between now and then, trouble has entered the relationship between the happy couple. Times have changed and both Ruby and Brent are in different places in their lives. Still there is a strong current of emotion and love flowing throughout as they reconnect in a surprise meeting. Bringing us up to date, the author infuses a bit of sizzle, heartbreak, laughter, and surprise. Nobody ever said love is easy or that the road to a happy future is without bumps and challenges.

I’m not certain that this novella plays the story forward as well as it would have if the author had chosen instead to release a full and final book giving this couple their much desired happily ever after. It seems like an unnecessary step in the process.

However, that being said, I enjoyed this installment very much and am anxiously looking forward to the next book, Deciding Tomorrow.

This was me while reading this book.

What would you do with a second chance? To have the opportunity to alter the path your life is currently heading; a second chance to right a wrong that you felt, at the time, was the right choice. A second chance to be with the one person that you tried so very hard to forget, but time would not allow the memories or the love to fade.

Ruby is such a strong character and continues to be strong in spite of all the hardships and tragedy she's experienced in her life. Ever since the first book, I've always loved Brent, he's amazing and would do anything for Ruby, including leave when Ruby sends him away. The last few sentences in this book absolutely proves this.

"Then I just have one question." Lifting my chin, he asks, "Where are you now?" "Here" I swallow. "I'm right here." "Then I'm still waiting." He looks straight into that place only he can find. "For you to find your way back to me."

WOW, I'm totally in love with Brent again and I can't wait for the next book!

I can't wait to read this BUT... Seriously why does it have to continue with Brent and Ruby. I would have been perfectly fine with their story ending the way it did. Now I'm dreading what is to come. Plus there's a third book!!! GAH!
I know I'm only thinking the worst for them, but really how many HEA can a couple be given?
SIGH...
I hope everything works out. I mean their one week break up in the first book was hard enough. I hate reading about relationship problems, especially when they're in love. But at the same time, I can't put them down.

Looking forward to seeing where this book will go.

*After reading it*

Well damn.

This wasn't what I was expecting. A bit of a short read and honestly I would have been fine skipping this one. But, it does hold a ton of insight about what happened between Ruby and Brent.
On to the next book.

***Non-spoiler Review***

Wow, now this was something. This fast-paced novella (although longer than any novella I've read) is a glimpse into Ruby's present and past, telling a story of the next phase in her life beyond After Tuesday (the first book in the These Days series).

What the author did here was nothing short of brilliant. We rarely get to read series that tell the next stage of a characters life, in a new genre from the first, spanning youth to adulthood—this being one of those. There was never a dull moment, every page made me crave more. At times my heart hurt for these two, then the story would pick me back up, dust me off, leaving me cheering.

What I was left with was hope; hope for their present, future, and each other.

I'm very much looking forward to the next chapter of their story in Deciding Tomorrow.

I enjoyed this. I read it quickly, it was only a little over 100 pages. It was written well and I really like this author. It actually felt longer than it was. It felt like reading a full book, not a novel. I will continue to read the series. I have to know what happens to these characters.

My only complaint is that I wished I would've waited until all of the books were out.

A MUST READ FOR BRENRUBY FANS!

Forgotten Yesterday has got to be hands down the BEST Novella I have read in a very long time. Even though we do not get a full length book in the series of BrenRuby (this time), Renee Ericson does NOT disappoint her readers.

"Forgotten Yesterday" picks up five years after "After Tuesday". Now you can imagine my surprise when reading that we were not continuing with them in their daily lives of Freshmen year, but what we get is so much better in my opinion.

Page after page we are taken into Ruby's current life and how she is dealing with everything from the last five years. In between we are shown glimpses of how things all rolled out between her and Brent. This is completely BRILLIANT!

Instead of going through every event and emotion as it occurs, we are allowed to see some amazing growth between the two. We re-live her experiences, and at the same time can relate with her as well.

In this Novella we are treated to the Ruby we have all gotten to know along the way, but we also fall in love with her for the woman she's becoming. Brilliant People Brilliant!

This Novella was engaging and edge of your seat. Every page had me locked on trying to figure out how my two favorites were torn apart. I yearned for those moments with Ruby alone with her head, and begged for the scenes with Brent and his amazing dimples. ;-)

---SIDENOTE---
It get's a bit hot ladies! ;-)
*fans herself*

Even after five years the minute BrenRuby comes together you KNOW their love is the everlasting kind. The type of love that all of us wish and hope for. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their hearts still belong to each other despite everything.

What makes the BrenRuby series so incredible, is the fact it's based on "real" life experiences. You can always relate with Renee's writing, and THAT my friends is what I wished the book world had much more of.

BrenRuby is extremely special for me as well. I've had the extreme privilege of living every day with them watching them grow. They live not only in my head, but are embedded deep within my heart. I see them, hear them, and quite often think "That is so Rubes!" :-)

Renee Ericson has become more than just an Author I have Crit/Beta for, she's become one of my very best friends. I admire her for not only being so dedicated to her stories, but also for always staying true to what she believes in. It's easy to cave in the book world to the pressure of what leads the NA Genre, but Renee stays true to herself and BrenRuby.

Congratulations my Ren! I'm so proud of you and BrenRuby. You stayed true to Rubes, and most importantly to yourself. I can't wait to get started on the next part of her journey.

XOXO

FORGOTTEN YESTERDAY is the second book in Renee's These Days series. You are reintroduced to Ruby five years later and you learn what has happened in her life as time has passed. It is a novella, but don't let that fool you. The story packs a punch and will have you reaching for the tissues over and over again. FORGOTTEN YESTERDAY goes back and forth between the past and present and it she's how Ruby and Brent got to where they are today. At the end of the first book, they are going strong and you are left believing everything will work out for them. But not everything is what it seems.

Ruby has had a tough five years. Once you learn what kept her and Brent from being together, your heart will break for them once again. It is a sweet and sad story and you will be pulled in from the vey first page. Renee will not let you go until the very end and the pages go by very quickly. Once finished I was left with hope that they can overcome the past and get back together once again. The next story, DECIDING TOMORROW will be available in July and I can't wait to read more of Ruby and Brent's heart breaking story.

“Then I'm still waiting. For you to find your way back to me.”

This novella packed an emotional punch and is not a standalone, you need to read After Tuesday first! I loved the way the story flowed. There was NO WAY I could put this story down as it brought together the past that Ruby tucked away in a drawer to hide the pain of her "Forgotten Yesterday" with the present day when Brent comes back in to her life after five years. They were pulled apart all those years ago, but it seems like fate is bringing them back together.
I didn't want it to end, especially with the last line reeling me in...AAAAaaaaaa I need more NOW!! I cannot wait to find out how Ruby & Brent will be Deciding Tomorrow.

This story does not start out the way I expected...which is AWESOME! Life is not all rainbows and butterflies and things don't always turn out the way you want or hope they will. It's nice to get a good dose of reality once in a while!

Love is not easy, and things have gone wrong and new lives have been forged over the past five years for Ruby and Brent. When they are given a second chance many feelings, both good and bad, are brought back to light. I can't wait for the follow-up in this series to see where their second chance takes them!

It’s a great start of Brent and Ruby’s second chance love story. I read this book as a part of Forgotten Tomorrow.

My review of Forgotten Tomorrow:
4.5 -- “I am lost and I am found.” -- stars

More Than Water is one of my favorite books and I have been wanting to read other books by this author. Forgotten Tomorrow is different than More Than Water, but still so good! Loved it. This book is more emotional. This book is about finding love again and being happy again. It’s about being lost and being found. A great second chance story.

Ruby and Brent are in love and they are ready to start college together. Five years later, Ruby is still a college student and a waitress. Brent is a professional soccer player. One day, he is a customer at the restaurant where Ruby works. They haven’t seen or heard each other for five years. Something caused them to break up, but the love never went away. The next day, Brent is again a customer at the restaurant and he wants to talk to Ruby. He asks her out to catch up.

It’s a little awkward between Ruby and Brent at first when they go out. They don’t know what to say or how to act. But the conversation flows easily after a while and they start to relax. Brent wants to see Ruby again before he has to go back to LA, the other side of the country. Ruby wants to see him too, but she knows that will only make saying goodbye harder. Their goodbye is difficult, but things are different now than they were five years ago.

I haven’t read After Tuesday (book 1) yet, but I didn’t have the feeling I missed something of their past. The author made it clear in the beginning that they are in love and need each other to feel whole. Also the flashbacks proof that they loved each other very much. When they meet again, it’s clear that their story isn’t finished yet. Their break up was painful, but the love is still there between them and they missed each other. They grow fast closer to each other again.

Ruby is strong, caring and sassy. She works and studies a lot. What happened years ago, only changed her a little bit. She was a wreck then, but she found the ability to move on. She has a plan now. Her world changes again when Brent comes back in her life. She has never forgotten him and still loves him. She’s afraid to get hurt again, but she wants to try because he makes her feel again.

Brent is strong, loving, caring, loyal and determined. He was also a wreck years ago and tried to forget Ruby, but that didn’t work. He regrets leaving her. He missed her a lot and wanted to be with her. He didn’t think he would ever see her again, but fate brought them back together and Brent doesn’t want to let her go ever again. When he’s with Ruby, he’s happy again. He loves soccer and he’s amazing at it, but it doesn’t make him happy like Ruby.

In the first part of the book, their past is revealed through flash blacks. I had an idea what caused their break up, but I didn’t get it totally right. Their past made it very emotional sometimes. My heart broke sometimes. The author’s writing was so beautiful then and it intensified the emotion. This book made me feel. Brent mended my heart every time again. Brent is a fighter and wants to do anything to be with Ruby. His love for her was very beautiful. Ruby is more scared than Brent, but I did understand every worry. Fate may have brought them back together, but it won’t be easy to get to their happily ever after.

The secondary characters are also amazing. Cody is Ruby’s nephew. Cody could be stubborn sometimes, but he only wants the best for Ruby. He was there for her when things were bad, so he does everything he can so she doesn’t get hurt again. Mara is the best friend of Ruby and was also a friend of Brent. Mara didn’t like Brent when he left and she was there to comfort Ruby. She also only wants the best for Ruby.

**Arc provided by author in exchange for an honest review**

In After Tuesday, readers experienced the beginning of Ruby and Brent's relationship; we were with them for all of Brent's "surprise" excursions and all of the "firsts" that they had together. We also endured with them the lows of their connection due to outside forces and bad choices. Despite those times, though, Ruby and Brent were ready to take on the world together at the same college for their freshman year.

Fast forward five years, and readers are introduced to an older but now single Ruby in Renee Ericson's novella Forgotten Yesterday. Right from the start, readers can tell that this is a different Ruby; one who perhaps did not get the happily ever after she sought with Brent at the end of After Tuesday. Slowly, as the switch from present to past begins, we are left wondering what happened to their relationship. When they first meet up in the present in the restaurant where Ruby works, there's awkwardness and tension in their reunion. But despite their discomfort and Ruby's need to flee, the connection between them is still there. As the exchange of the past and present continues, it is unclear what happened to cause their separation. Most of Ruby's early memories/flashbacks clearly show the love between her and Brent. But it's clear that something happened to cause their disconnect all those years ago.

One fated meeting five years later is all it takes for Ruby's time with Brent to flood her mind, and as she relives their time, the puzzle of their break up starts to fall in place and all of her old feelings begin to consume her once again. But, how do they get past all that has occurred between them? How do they let go of the pain and move forward? But, how can they let this second chance go without even trying to mend what broke them in the first place? I can't wait to see what happens next for this couple that has already endured so much in the following story Deciding Tomorrow!

Forgotten Yesterday is such a great story! I'll admit, I felt like in After Tuesday, Brent and Ruby's relationship was rushed; I didn't feel their connection or any of the other feelings that they endured throughout the beginning of their relationship. I'm not sure why....I just didn't, but in this text, I felt the pain of their past colliding with the slight hope of their future. Renee Ericson did a fantastic job of meshing Ruby's flashbacks with her current life and meetings with Brent. I love the fact that this story did not simply continue with their freshman year in college. The way that it was written left me wanting to find out what happened to them...where it went wrong, and this writing strategy brilliantly heightened my need to keep reading so my questions would be answered. Sometimes getting one's happily ever after comes with huge obstacles and a lot of pain but perhaps those are the relationships that endure; for Ruby and Brent, I truly hope that is the case.

I loved Ruby and Brent and could not wait for more of them. Forgotten Yesterday takes place five years later. The last time we saw Ruby and Brent they were happily together and looking forward to their future together. But things change. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you have no choice but to deal with it. What Brent and Ruby went through is something that will either bring two people together or tear them a part. And unfortunately for Brent and Ruby the latter was true.

Renee Ericson takes us on their journey going back and forth from the present to the past. We learn what happened over the last 5 years that has lead us to Brent and Ruby's current situation. I won't go into too much detail but this story certainly has it's heart breaking moments. I am a big fan of Brent and Ruby and honestly it was sad to read the beginning knowing that something happened to them a few years back that had caused issues in their relationship. But such is life, things happen out of our control and for Brent and Ruby they knew that more than anyone. They were two people who were so deeply in love so I needed to know what happened and found myself not wanting to put this novella down. Their story felt so real and so emotional. And I honestly felt so bad for these two.

It is now 5 years later and fate has stepped in. And yes I believe that it was fate because these two are simply meant to be together. Brent happens to walk into the place the Ruby now works at. He just happens to be in town for one day, and in the same town that she lives in. See, fate. You instantly feel the love and connection that these two have. Ad no matter how long it has been since they have been together, their love for each other never died. I was on pins and needles reading this book. What will happen to them Will the find their way back to each other. Will they finally get their happily ever after?

I think Renee did a fantastic job with their story. It was emotional and you felt the emotion with the two of them. You felt the love between them and what they went through is something that I think a lot of people can relate to. I am rooting for these two and hope that they will find their way back to each. In the end I was left wanting more and hoping they get their happily ever after. Looking forward to the next one and seeing where their journey takes us.

I received a copy of Forgotten Yesterday in exchange for an honest review.

I had read After Tuesday (the first book in the These Days series) a few months ago so when offered the chance to read Forgotten Yesterday and continue on with Ruby and Brent's saga, I jumped on it.

This is a short book, only 126 pages, so it read very quickly for me but there's so much packed into those 126 pages.

When the book opens, we find Ruby living on her own in Chicago working in a restaurant. She's decided that it's time to start moving forward again and is accepting of the flirtation coming from one of her co-workers. Little did she know that mid-shift she'd come face to face with a piece of her past and it would shake her to the core and make her question if she should continue on moving forward or if she's even moved on at all and should she go back and try to recoup what she's lost.

The book was set up in an interesting format in that it went from present time to flashbacks in the past, but it absolutely worked for me. We were presented with enough information piece by piece to have the story make complete sense as it goes along. It definitely kept things interesting for me because I had just enough information to know a little about what had gone down 5 years ago, but didn't have quite enough to know the whole story so it kept me wanting to read chapter after chapter.

After reading Forgotten Yesterday, I love Ruby even more than I did in After Tuesday. She had such a great strength in dealing with the memories of her past while also trying to come to terms on what to do with the piece of her past. Should she stay away or should she open her heart again knowing that there was a super huge chance of it getting shattered again?

Book 3, Deciding Tomorrow, will be out this summer and I will be anxiously awaiting for it so I can see what happens next with Ruby. Thank you Renee Ericson for creating this character and her story.

I was given this book for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a great middle book for in between the two stories. It wasn't too much of a cliffhanger, but it was enough to make you look forward to the next book. And I must say that after reading the first two books, I can not wait to read the next one. I still really loved Ruby and Brent as characters. I feel like it was a realistic story about two people who hit a hard road and made choices that hurt, but were probably for the best at the time. I love that you can still feel the love between them and you can also feel the pain, but maybe now, after some maturing, they are ready to work through the hurt and be together. I love this book because it doesn't create this almighty love story where love conquers all immediately. Sometimes it takes work, distance, and growing up to deal with what happens at such a young age.

I enjoyed how the story was written with the back and forth between past and present. It made me eager to continue reading and see what happened next. My only issue is that sometimes it moved a little slow and left some gaps about what Ruby did over the past five years. We know she is just now finishing school, but there is missing info. However, we did learn what Brent had been doing while they were apart.

Overall, I really liked this book. It was a good follow up from the first book and foreshadowing into the next book. Sometimes when a series comes out it is all over in the first book and then just drags on aimlessly forever in the following books. This one didn't feel like that at all. I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review -
Thank you Renee Ericson for sending me both books in this series. I really enjoyed reading them and can't wait for Deciding Tomorrow!
The series is about a girl who is really just lost. Her mom died when she was very young, her dad is an addict, her uncle and cousin aren't much better and she doesn't really have any friends. She spends her life basically laying low until she turns 18 and can start a new life. In the first book she meets Lexi at a summer camp she works at and they become best friends. That summer she also meets Brent, who is the type of boy she never imagined would notice her, and they have a very strong and instant connection. Their relationship builds really fast and Lexi and Brent help her through a lot of difficult situations through her senior year. After graduation Ruby and Brent head to Chicago to college.
Fast forward five years for book 2. We learn that Lexi and Brent are no longer together. I liked how the book went back and forth between past and present. Ruby is working at a steakhouse while completing college and Brent left years ago to be a soccer superstar. We learn or that reasons they are no longer together and the book was written so well that my heart truly hurt for them in the story. Brent shows up in Chicago for a soccer game and ends up eating in the restaurant where Ruby is working. Fate has brought them together and we watch Ruby try to handle the situation she is in.
The story leaves us waiting to find out what will happen next and I for one am on the edge of my seat.
Great story.

Oh this book! I was so happy when I finished After Tuesday- Ruby and Brent were on to bigger and better things-TOGETHER! But no- life got in the way.
The book begins with Ruby- and me confused as to why she would be going on a date with Brian! We learn quickly that something tore her and Brent apart- something that still hurts. But I kept wondering until the why was revealed was what it so terrible that they were apart now? Was it irreparable? I love them together. He gets her. He knows her. She feels his love and is her best self when they were together. Now it seems like she is floundering- finally back at school. Working and going to school are her life. But a chance meeting may change her world once again.
We find out what happens through a series of flashbacks. This method works beautifully, it seems as if with reach memory and revelation Ruby becomes more herself. And being herself is a step closer to Brent. But I do worry that it may not be enough. Their night together had me in tears- from both laughter and sadness. Their connection is still there- but is their second chance at love- reviving their first love- a good thing?
Well I want it to be! But the time, distance and uncertain path of both of their futures going to be too much to overcome?
Again, I love them together. Their characters are so richly drawn, the story sadly intense and beautiful. Now I must go bother/stalk Renee to get the rest of their story!

Wow, what the --?? I feel cheated.
I started this novella right after reading After Tuesday, the beginning of Brent's and Ruby's love story in high school senior year.
This first book had such a sweet and promising ending and I was looking forward to reading about how their love continues - way off the mark!
Instead, everything they had was shattered into pieces soon after starting college together when tragedy struck.

What must have happened to destroy their beautiful and deep love for one another??
That's what I was continuously asking myself from the beginning of the book.

When Ruby and Brent accidentally meet again five years later with Brent now being a successful international soccer player,
you get glimpses into the past as Ruby begins to remember what happenend.
Now knowing what they had to endure at such a young age, I started anxiously wondering whether they would be capable of dealing with their past after all,
so that they finally could heal each other.
It was downright heartbreaking to see them still wanting and loving each other and yet seemingly not being able to find one another again.

While After Tuesday is a Young Adult book with Ruby and Brent being teenagers,
the content of Forgotten Yesterday is getting more mature along with its main characters.

I love Renee's poetic style of writing and am eager to find out what is going to happen next to Brent and Ruby,
hoping they will overcome everything that happened to them to find their well deserved HEA.

Second book in the series, a short novella but shit so much went on its five years down the line. Reverting from the present to the past in Ruby's POV, they've both matured which is nice to see in the authors writing. It's a bloody roller coaster of emotions again.
Just when you think our Ruby is on the right path with Brent by her side she can conquer the world..

Hmmmm No! that's not happening what a twist to the story! Ruby's in Chicago still attending university she's back on track with her studies working in a restaurant just making ends meet.
Brent went off to play football for Sweden now playing for and living in L.A for the past year, doing what he loves and earning a very nice wage. Uni didn't work out for him. Its not all hearts and flowers.

You get to know from the past encounters what went on over the five years, the struggles, heart wrenching situation, aftermath, the blaming when no one is at fault, stubbornness, regret, untold truths and the silence that speaks a thousand words..

and from the present Brent walking in to her restaurant. There connection is undeniable. A second chance maybe, maybe not. Will Ruby except fate and that they are meant to be together? Who knows this author likes to mix things up and not be predictable loved it! and will be reading more from this series. Highly recommended you need to check it out.

Gosh I need to know more, waiting in anticipation for the next book!
5 stars:)

ARC provided by author in return for an honest review!

Renee Ericson you hooked me again , and on a novella nonetheless!

This is such a beautiful story of Ruby and Brent! I fell in love with this character couple when I read After Tuesday last year. I knew I had to go ahead and read this one to see where their story went and it did NOT disappoint!

All I have to say is: Renee, you have such a way with words!

Ruby and Brent are high school sweethearts who have their lives planned out.
Forgotten Yesterday is the story of what actually happens ...

I normally have issues with the way some authors handle flashbacks. Renee is not an author that I had an issue with. She did this gracefully and the story line was brilliant. For such a short piece, it twisted at my heart strings and I may or may not have shed a tear once or twice.

Beautifully written, an awesome couple, and a perspective that we are often all left wondering about... What more could a reader want?

What can I say? I fell in LOVE with After Tuesday and It's main Characters Ruby and Brent. So when I was able to read Forgotten Yesterday I was in total heaven, only my favorite couple had gone through some major upheavals in life and life had forced changes upon them. I admit I might have cried a little when I found out. At first I was like whyyyy did this happen. Then I was off to blaming Both of the characters for not acting the way I wanted.THEN I started reading and reading some more.It was then that I realized just because a character doesn't end up how you envision it in your head does not mean it is over.It means there is more to the story and more you want to read and learn about.Renee manages too leave you breathless and wanting more at the end but never fear Deciding Tomorrow will be released in the near future.I am as always on baited breath for Renee's next book.Awesome Job Renee!

Forgotten Yesterday is a novella. It's not a stand alone. You must read After Tuesday first. I loved After Tuesday. It was a sweet read. I thought it ended nicely with Brent and Ruby going off to college together and having their whole lives ahead of them.

Forgotten Yesterday is five years after After Tuesday. Ruby and Brent are no longer together. I was a little confused at first on what was going on but Renee Ericson does a wonderful job transitioning from past to present so that we are not lost.

Brent and Ruby are great characters. It's easy to connect with the characters. Brent and Ruby's past is an emotional story. I was a little teary eyed when reading it. In the present Ruby and Brent cross paths again. I loved to read how Brent and Ruby have grown and changed. We ever get an update on Cody.

This book left me wanting more. I am excited that we will get more of Brent and Ruby in Deciding Tomorrow.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really like Ruby. I really like the story that Ms. Ericson is laying out in this series. I like that there isn't any unnecessary angst/drama.

BUT

I really wish that she had made this a tiny bit longer. Offered a few more details. Where did she go for all those years and what happened in her life to bring her back??? I felt like a lot of the details were either flat our missing or skimmed down to teeny tiny little teasers. Which is why I rated this with 3 stars. I understand that this is a novella, and there for aren't exceptionally long...but still would have been happier with a little bit more...

I seriously recommend that you all read this...if you are reading the series. If this is your first introduction to Renee Ericson, PLEASE go read the After Tuesday (then read this). This is an exceptional author who tells a wonderful story about love and acceptance.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the first book in the series, After Tuesday, and I loved this one just as much. I began reading this one as soon as I completed the first and it was worth losing a little sleep over!

This book is written in a little different format than the first book, After Tuesday. It shows the reader through flashbacks what happened in the past and how Ruby and Brent ended up where they are now. It was very well done without any confusion.

It is now about 5 years after Ruby and Brent went away to college together. They run into each other and begin to realize that they have a lot that they need to resolve with each other. They have such an intense connection and must work through some equally intense emotions to see where they will end up.

Ms. Ericson has show an amazing ability to draw readers in and make them feel those intense emotions that her characters are experiencing. I can't wait for book three this summer!

4.5 stars, very close to 5. A book that might break your heart and almost put it back together again (but not quite).

Ruby and Brent were high school sweethearts, very much in love. They decided to attend the same college in Chicago but then tragedy struck and their relationship shattered.

Five years later they accidentally bump into each other as Brent, now a world-class soccer player in town for a game, eats dinner at an upscale restaurant where Ruby is a waitress. The story goes back and forth from the present to the past, and even though there is a Book #1, I felt I pretty much knew the whole story.

The writing is superb, the story completely believable and heartbreaking. While it is obvious the two still love each other, it is a slow dance they play trying to deal with the past but admit they want a future. There is a Book #3, and I'll be reading it.
