About the author

He was the son of Rudolf Hess. He was also an outspoken critic of the investigation into his father's death, which he believed was a cover-up. He maintained that the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) had murdered his father in order to prevent his parole—which he believed to be imminent—because the British government were afraid that his father, if allowed to speak freely, would reveal embarrassing information about British actions during World War II. In 2007, however, documents demonstrating British support for Hess' release on humanitarian grounds and their campaign against steadfast Soviet opposition to his release were published

A very depressing account of the incarceration of Rudolf Hess by his son Wolf. The 2025 document release confirms the suspicion that Hess was kept isolated and silent due to information he had that could be embarrassing for Britain.

Dit is één van de boeken waar ik zoiets heb dit moest ik nu niet echt gelezen hebben maar vermits ik zelden iets wegleg heb ik het toch maar uitgelezen. Voor mij geen meerwaarde ook erg vlak geschreven en met heel veel feiten die echt wel gaan vervelen. Het is een zoon die eigenlijk maar één ding wil het grote onrecht dat volgens hem zijn vader is aangedaan in de kijker zetten. Zelfs in de geest van de jaren waarin het is geschreven vind ik het een erg zwak verhaal.

One was better off without reading this one. from cover to back cover this one is a constant appeal and pleading for release of his Father Rudolf Hess. Though I'm not at all negating the human value and element in it but still the literary and historical value ia nill or of minute value.

An interesting read from Hess's son. He does ramble a bit though and repeats himself a lot. It could have been half the size. I don't think that we will even know the full story, hence the fascination with Hess, Hitler and Spandau.

Awel, ik kan zeggen dat ik genoten heb om dit boek te lezen. Meer nog, ik had zulks niet verwacht.

Het schetst eindelijk een deel van de verborgen waarheid! Een echte must-read voor wie de waarheid wilt weten, kennen.

Hoe het politieke kluwen van 1918/1919 zelfs vandaag nog zijn uitwerking heeft, waarin de Anglo-Amerikaanse regering(en) het verloop van de Europese politiek en sfeer bepalen.
