Volume 5 starts a brand new story arc in the Friendship is Magic series. After the Mane 6 are plagued with nightmares, they search for the cause in order to save Ponyville and rescue a friend.

The artwork is wonderful. Love that "Maybelle" makes an appearance. I will never not love a Gravity Falls crossover.

Enjoying the start to this story. Great setup. It was interesting to learn more about Princess Luna's experience as Nightmare Moon. Already got the next few volumes to continue the adventure.

Ah, so Rarity doesn't turn into Nightmare Moon or something. I figured that wouldn't (and probably couldn't) happen, but I'm still a tad disappointed lol.

I noticed that Luna looks the same as she does in the series premiere, too. I wonder if the end of this will explain why her appearance changed from S2E4 & onwards?

Even if the real reason is just because the creators wanted her colouring to better match Nightmare Moon (or some other meta production reason), it'd be neat to have an in-universe explanation.

Había oido mucho de esta saga, así que la estoy comenzando, además como una forma de retomar los comics en orden crónologico.
Me gusta ver como se ve que aquí darán un desarrollo al cambio de la princesa Luna, ver a las chicas en una pijamada y ver a Twilight soñando con lo de la princesa Celestia me recordó a la serie y fue bastante entrañable

read it for sombra and celestia, looked for a physical copy online, but the seller told me it’s out of print 🥲🥲. so i read it online, 10/10 romance potential used

Issues 5-8 make up one story

The ponies begin having nightmares so they hold a sleepover to try to get some sleep. The nightmares return and Rarity is carried off by a black cloud. Celestia and Luna show up and explain what must be done to save her.

The second arc of MLP for IDW. And I'll be honest. I liked the lines better than the actual show.

Also, Maybelle is a blatant reference to Mabel from Gravity Falls.
