Very good book. Both Alice and Noah have fears that they must overcome in order to have the love that they need. Alice has decided that it's time to stop being the wild child of the family, so she is trying to curb her impulsive behavior. Being attracted to a good looking stable hand is not the way to do it. And then she discovered that he's no stable hand but an American tycoon looking for a wife. Noah decided it was time to marry and that he wanted a princess. After deciding what he was looking for he settled on Alice and nothing was going to stop him from getting what he wanted, least of all her desire to have it all.
I really liked both Noah and Alice, though Noah was certainly frustrating. Alice had made the decision to change after her latest escapade earned her mother's disappointment. She is afraid of giving in to her impulsive side again. She is trying very hard to be good, to the point where even her family members are worried about her not being herself. When she first sees Noah she is so tempted to indulge herself but talks herself out of it. When she discovers that he was just playing a part she is furious with him for the deception. She accepts his apology but is not inclined to have anything else to do with him. When she finally gives in to seeing him again he makes it clear that he's interested in getting to know her better as he invites her to visit him in California. Once she's there she is stunned to find him proposing marriage, but without any mention of love. The more time she spends with him, the more she comes to care about him, but she is bothered by his excessive control. I really liked the way that, as much as she came to love him, she refused to settle for less than she felt she deserved. I loved the way that she tried so hard to get him to see what she needed while showing him how she felt. I also liked her friendship with Noah's sister Lucy and how she tried to get Noah to see how wrong he was in his overprotectiveness. It was this problem that was the straw that sent her home, wondering if Noah would ever be able to give her what she needed most from him.
Noah is very upfront with Alice about what he wants. He wants her to be his wife. They have a lot in common and their attraction to each other is hot. He admits to her that he made a mistake at the beginning by hiding who he was, but he had done it because his research had indicated that type of thing would appeal to her. He didn't know about her resolve to change her ways. Once he did, he set about trying to win her. When he invited her to California his intent was to propose right away and get married as soon as possible. He was stunned when she turned him down, claiming that until she had all of him there would be no engagement. Noah has never intended love to be part of the equation. When he was a boy he saw his mother give up after his father's death, no longer having the heart to go on without him. After his mother's death his sister had to go to foster care until he was able to care for her. Lucy had heart problems and Noah was the one who made sure that everything was done to get her healthy. Now he still fears losing her and can't let go of his control over her. Even Alice can't make him see that he is driving Lucy to do something desperate. Noah finds that things are changing with Alice and he doesn't know how to deal with those changes. It takes his housekeeper/friend reading him the riot act for him to finally admit his feelings, overcome his fears and go after Alice. I really loved what he did at the end.
Who doesn't like a hero that turned his life around. A hero that has decided he wants to marry a princess. Enter the princess; who is trying to be good and not make any trouble for her family. The road to true love and happy ever after is a long and bumpy one. Once again Christine Rimmer has given us a wonderful book on the Bravo Royals.
Meh. I felt meh about the hero and the heroine. I thought I’d be more interested because of the horse aspect, but other than going riding together and the purchase of a horse, the horses are really more background, even despite the fact that breeding and training and selling horses is supposed to be the heroine’s job. And that is never addressed. How will she continue to run the Montedoran stables and breeding program if she is in California all the time?
My eyes are sore from all the eye rolling while reading this book (which I read for a challenge.) Alice Bravo-Calabretti is a princess from a small principality called Montedoro in Europe. Noah Cordell is a wealthy American who has decided he wants his wife to be a princess. He knows Alice's brother, so he sets his sights on her. But Alice wants it all, including love, which Noah doesn't do. Sigh.......
🌸Umm... i actually think that i have never given a book 1 star before. But this book... this book deserved it. It was soooo hard for me to finish it, I constantly felt like I was reading just a bunch of dialogues all together, with absolutely no plot whatsoever. And this is coming from someone who usually adores cheesy fast-paced romance books. This one was a waste of time.🌸
Let me begin by saying that I feel I did not take this story as other reviewers did. Don't get me wrong, it was an okay/good book but I had a few problems with it, making it my least favorite of The Bravo Royale series to date. I will explain at the end of this review. Please note: This is just my opinion, an honest opinion for how I ingested the story.
Princess Alice Bravo-Calabretti was a very impulsive princess. She found herself in the tabloids on a regular basis and it was not always flattering. After disappointing her mother she has decided to play it safe, keep away from anything that could be construed as scandalous and as far away from the paparazzi's camera lenses as she can get.
Noah Cordell was a gorgeous, self-made millionaire and he wanted a wife and not just any wife would do. He wants a Princess and after much research he has chosen Alice aka Allie Bravo-Calabretti, Princess of Montedoro. He develops a friendship with her brother Damien hoping to be invited to Montedoro where he can casually become acquainted with Alice. He lets her believe he is a penniless stable hand setting himself up to see her when she comes out for her morning ride. She is immediately drawn to him as he is to her, but she quickly finds out he is not who she believes him to be and she is all about total honesty. He finally decides to tell her the truth, that he wants to marry her and begin his own dynasty, a trophy wife on his arm that all would envy. The perfect pedigree! Unfortunately, love was not in the equation and Bravo-Calabrettis always married for love.
In the beginning I viewed Alice as a strong determined woman who ran her own successful horse breeding program. Her personality seemed to change after becoming involved with Noah and there were many times it felt out of character for her to bite her tongue and allow Noah to get by with his poor behavior and his refusal to address issues. All it took was a kiss to shut her up and off to the bed they would go...resolving nothing. I think I am a fair judge of women and when a woman is hurt, sad or upset sex is not the only thing on her mind. Sex is great but it doesn't solve problems. I was disappointed that the author didn't continue with Alice's bold persona...in my opinion. Alice softened too much for my taste. She appeared to lose some of her edge and strength which is what I loved about her. She was able to speak up to most anyone but not so much with Noah. Yes, she gave him her opinion and spoke up to some degree but I wish it had been more.
There are many twist and turns and real life issues that have to be dealt with and some were. Noah is absolutely the most controlling, unyielding, single-focused, his way or the highway kind of man that I have read about in a long time and it does not make him especially likeable...for me. I was disappointed in him. He was disrespectful towards her and didn't really take to heart anything she gave her opinion on. That is why I would have liked to know if that issue was resolved. If so, I would think more of him. As I was reading I kept thinking to myself that Allie deserved more than Noah.He was not good enough...emotionally. Allie wanted a husband who would be an equal partner, not a dictator. I am not sure that happened. Even though there was some resolution in his hangups concerning love and why he felt the way he did, I so wish the controlling/being a partner issue would have been addressed. When I completed the book it left me feeling as though it wasn't quite finished.
"How to Marry a Princess "is a tantalizing tale written by Christine Rimmer The story begins with a case of mistaken identity when Princess/former hot mess Alice Bravo-Calabretti assumes the handsome hunk sweeping in the stable is just your run of the mill stable hand. Little does she know that, Noah Cordell has plans to change her life in a big way. This dashingly handsome tycoon has decided that he wants to marry her. However, Alice has been trying calm her impulsive nature after a few brushes with the paparazzi. This Princess is not so sure she is ready to be caught. As always Christine Rimmer delivers a story both complex and intriguing that touches the very core of this reader's heart. I could empathize with both Alice and Noah. Things that I loved about this book. Alice is real. She has been around the block and made a few mistakes. Let's face it, we have all been there. Alice is trying so hard to be good and do the right thing but this little thing called passion erupts. It causes her to say, "Good Alice, you need to simmer down." Also, Alice longs to be loved, even though Noah wants to marry her the whole time; she holds out for the love that she deserves. I love that Noah is honest. He is always upfront about his dream of the trophy wife. There are no hidden agendas but there is a hidden vulnerability. Noah is afraid of loving and losing because of all the things that happened in his past. He lost his father to a heart attack and his mother to flu at a young age leaving him to care for his sister, Lucy. Noah has to learn that loving someone is not about control. He also has to learn to actually allow himself to be unguarded and love Alice. It isn't enough that he wants to marry her, and seduce her with romantic gestures or fulfill her with mind-blowing sex. She needs love and in the end she gets it. Noah also overcomes his fears of love. This is so much more than a love story. The characters were facing real life relationship problems that made them very likable. I would highly recommend this book. Excellent job, Christine Rimmer, you have touched lives again with your way with words and insight to the human soul.
Christine Rimmer has written in her career 90 books plus this one. It makes you wonder how they can keep pumping them out and not having any sound the same. I will be the first to tell you that this woman can write. She is one of many that are on my keeper shelf and this book will be going there too. I love a good book with twists and turns and flawed characters. All of that makes it more interesting yet so real. Noah is a self made man. He knows he wants Princess Allie however, the Princess wants more from him than he wants to give. I loved this book and the rest that go with it. Can’t wait for the one coming out in time for Christmas. Oh and if you are on facebook> find Christine’s page and like it. She cracks me up daily and is as down to earth as her characters.
Don't pick the book up until you are ready to read it in one setting. You cannot put it down. Noah thinks he has his life all figured out. Time to marry a princess. He has researched and decided who that princess should be. He sets out to marry her. But one thing he doesn't figure into plan is love being a requirement. Alice refuses to marry for anything less than love. But she has fallen in love with Noah but refuses to marry him until he can give her his heart. Noah fears he is losing those he loves. So he had a hard time facing love. But finally he is able to face his past and truly love from his heart.
The 5th book of "The Bravo Royales" family series.
I really enjoyed How to Marry a Princess. Alice is a bit of a wild princess that is expected to act according to Royal protocol. She falls for who she thinks is a hot stable hand, only to find out Noah's true identity is actually an American tycoon.
Will she accept his marriage proposal without the promise of love or fall in love with him knowing she does not have his love and marry him anyhow? Will Noah realize Alice wants it all, including his love before it is too late?
How To Marry A Princess was another enjoyable book in the Bravo series. All of which can be read as stand alone books. Alice was a captivating character, once the wild child of the Royal Bravos, she is trying to think first act second. And not end up tabloid fodder. Noah set out with the intention of marrying a princess and had picked Alice as the one. I do have to say that Noah had a tendency to be a bit of a jerk quite often throughout the book, but he did come to redeem himself. This is a good book that I'd recommend.
How To Marry A Princess is another great addition to Christine Rimmer's Bravo family series. Focused on Alice Bravo-Calabretti, who is trying to keep a low profile after outlandish behavior in Glasgow, she's tempted when she meets Noah Cordell. At first believing him to be a stablehand, she soon learns he is a friend of her brother's. If you're a fan of the Bravo family, then you don't want to miss this heartwarming story.

I like this book. Eventhought Noah was a little controlling. I think he should have encouraged his sister More to spread her wings before he was told by the princess to do so. Also Prince Dami should find a love of his own.
I usually enjoy Christine Rimmer and this was enjoyable, but not really one of my favorites. I think Noah was a little too much and I really didn't like the way he treated Lucy (although he did learn). That said, compared to many books of this type, this was one of the better ones.
"Rimmer's royal romance is a perfect mix of naughty and nice. She peeks in on past characters from fictional Montedoro while introducing new ones, and her couple's imperfections will endear them to readers." RT Book Reviews, rated 4 1/2 stars
I really enjoyed Alice and Noah's story. He was trying to be clever and marry himself a princess to have a perfect family. Boy did he get a surprise. I like how strong and determined Alice became. They make a wonderful couple. Thank you Christine Rimmer.
I loved this story! I love how Alice found herself and because who she is...I lobe how Noah became how he was and overcame his past to have a a wonderful life!
