Soooo good, I just finished The Silent Patient and the ending blew my mind, literarily couldn’t thought about the ending this way😵💫. ThanksAlexMichaelides for this piece of art.
full of plot twists and suspense. however, i did find the narrator highly irritating so much so i finished the book within a day to get it over with. the narrator is a psychotherapist therefore the entire book is built on the foundations of Freud, particularly the idea that if you are abused by your parents then you are ineveitably broken or eternally damaged. there was no attemept to challenge this perspective, infact the book wouldn't have worked if this idea wasn't asserted as truth. the actions of the villain are essentially justified by this theory which i found cliche and boring.
I completed reading "The Silent Painting" and it is something mindblowing. It was an Rollercoaster of emotions, something you can't name, something you can't explain. But a book which made me think for few hours staring at the wall on a trace mode.
Like we all have things like them on us, and its like when you think u got healed and it gave a cameo out of nowhere in your life and then you realize you had been carrying it with you all the time. Something which makes us think, that at the end it was 2 kids whose souls has been abandoned for lifetime.
A kid which yearns for comfort and fears to lose the one it loves; more than how a general person would fear to lose someone.
I love the roller-coaster. One of the recommended pyscho thriller book i would recommend someone. Easy English and easy vocabulary book for beginners to start with.
Do try it...

The twists and turns kept me turning the pages but towards the end I could see some dots joining and could predict. Gives nice perspectives of thoughts and characters.
Author: Alex Michaelides Books: The Silent Patient + The Maidens Vibes & tropes: 🖤 Psychological thriller • Murder mystery • Dark academia • Unreliable narrators • Secrets • Twists • Obsession
Alex Michaelides… WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR BRAIN?! 😭🖤
Two books, two different mysteries, and one author who clearly enjoys making me question EVERY SINGLE THING.
The Silent Patient had me hooked with its silence, its secrets, and that constant need to understand what REALLY happened. And the twists??? I was sitting there trying to connect the dots like I was personally investigating the case. 💀
Then The Maidens brought the dark academia atmosphere, the secret society, the murders, and that unsettling feeling that absolutely nobody should be trusted. 👀🖤
What I love about Alex's writing is how he keeps you suspicious. You're constantly building theories, doubting yourself, and trying to figure out whether you're actually onto something or just falling for another trap.
And even when I think I've figured things out, there's always that little voice in my head saying: WHAT IF YOU'RE WRONG?! 😭
These books aren't flawless, but the atmosphere, the psychological games, and the need to know the truth make them SO addictive.
4.75⭐️ for a duo that had me questioning everyone and trusting absolutely no one. 🖤🔪
psychological thriller based on true murder. Available Bayside
It was a very interesting and gripping book to read. The story was different and kept me thinking. The ending was unexpected, though I suspected Zoe was involved somehow. However, I was disappointed in the end, when I re-read parts of the book and found no clue that might have enabled me to work out the explanation of events. Thus I thought the story was a bit misleading.
