5 - HIDDEN DESTINY Enough misery and violence in the real world, don’t need it in my relaxing reading time. Cannot be read as a stand-alone, too many characters and events. So sick of Caym the demon. He has been around too long. I was an avid fan of this author but haven’t picked up a book in this series for years as it was going in a direction that was getting too depressing and negative. The Redwoods seem to be always losing, getting maimed and horrendously hurt, making me feel depressed. Decided to read the next volume and came away feeling really bad. Yes Corbin finally gets sorted but at a terrible cost to North. Much happier books out there for me to read with drama but without the depressing happenings. 6 - A BETAS HAVEN Read in the box set Vol 5. To me of this was a sweet little read but very bittersweet and extremely sad as I have already read Fighting Fate. Nice how Willow asked for help to help Jasper.
Lexi Anderson is a mother, a sister and a latent wolf. She is also a new member of the Redwood pack, but some are not all that pleased with her presence. North is Lexi's potential mate, she wants him but she knows deep down it wouldn't be happening because she has secrets that she keeps close to heart. North Jamenson's wolf is always close to surface. He is the quiet one. Over the last few years, he has watched every one of his brothers find their mates and happiness, and starting families. He wants that, and he knows he could have that with Lexi. Tomorrow North would take the next steps. He just hoped to hell that Lexi wanted to take them with him. He is going to claim his family. "My wolf feels you, Lexi. You know I do too. Fate fucked up before, but it isn't fucking up now. You're my mate." "No, North. You know that can't happen." "Yes. It can, and it will. I'll kill him, Lexi. He deserves to die for countless crimes, but I'd kill him just to have you. I'm selfish. I want you in my life. I know we have so much to learn about each other, but I'm not going to wait to have you by my side. We'll learn each other and find a way to have our own mating...even without the bond for now." North and Lexi are getting to know each other and building their future together. North is also trying to help Lexi find and bring out her wolf, if they can. "That means your wolf is there, baby. She's there." He inhaled her scent and rocked against her. "You smell so fucking good, my Lexi. I want to bend you over the bed, tuck your panties out of the way, and fuck you hard while you wear these high heels." The war is escalating but the Jamenson family and their pack are preparing. "We're ready for them," Edward growled, and the others in the room growled with him. They were family. They were Jamensons. They would not fail. He squeezed Lexi tight. No, they wouldn't fail. Now when they had so much to fight for.
"I'm an idiot. Aren't I?" "Yes, but I love you anyway." He grinned, and she punched him. "I love you too, you butt." North rolled his eyes. "Nice, I got all romantic and heartwarming, and you call me a butt. I can see out future together is going to be rife with love." "You better believe it."
"This is it, North Jamenson. This is out destiny. Our forever." He smiled down at her. "You're my forever. You're my everything." As he was to her. For eternity.
I was completely blown away with Hidden Destiny, so did not see that coming. I love that Carrie Ann Ryan can keep the surprises coming and the suspense. Hidden Destiny was a fan-freakin-tastic book. I enjoyed reading it from beginning to end. I couldn't put it down. It was filled with love, support, family, caring, action, hot sex, and great freaking humor.
A BETA'S HAVEN
As always Carrie Ann Ryan delivers another amazing book to read. This was such a sweet short story between Jasper and his mate Willow. Willow helps Jasper finds the balance he needs so he isn't spread out in so many directions or exhausted. With help from family, Jasper and Willow get away for a few days.
I always enjoy reading the Redwoods Pack series. I am looking forward to Logan and Cailin's book. Can't wait.
Hidden Destiny ~ This book surprised me. Well, not the book so much as North. (I knew Carrie Ann would rock it!!) I have read all of the previous novels and novellas and haven't gotten much of a feel for him other than the fact that he was Maddox's twin, a doctor and a fixer. In this installment, we see the REAL him! And oh man is he HOT and DOMINANT!! Yummy! I love how he is with his Lexi as well as with his family. With each Jamenson male that I read about, I tend to feel like they are my favorite and this one is no different. As far as Lexi goes, I love her too! She knows that she is not physically the strongest, and even when she doesn't feel emotionally strong, she puts he big girl panties on and does what she needs to for her son, family and pack. She is amazing! I cannot wait to the rest of this journey with the Redwoods!
A Beta's Haven ~ 4.5 stars It was nice to get a little glimpse from Jasper and Willow. Since their book was the second in the series, it has been a while, though they do play small parts in most of the series. Due to Jasper's duty and their adorable daughter Brie, he and Willow do not get to have "adult" time very often. For wolves, who need the connection, it is a little bit more stressful. Willow enlists Jasper's family to lighten the burden of being the Beta and takes him on a short vacation. While there is still danger from the Centrals and Caym, they needed it. I am looking forward to the next book, but am a little sad to see the series ending. I have really enjoyed all of the Jamensons! Some sexiness goes on too! ;)
North and Lexi story Finally North story. I've wanted to read this book since I first read about him. North has always been the pack doctor but since hannah the healer came into pack and Maddox the omega can deal with emotions he's felt a little redundant. While out with Maddox in open woods outside the den North and Maddox meet Lexi a latent wolf who can't shift and her son Parker also her grumpy brother Logan. When they meet North knows straight away that Lexi is his mate. Lots of ups and downs for Redwoods atm. So glad some of the bad guys are dead and story can really start to move on from redwood central on going fight. Just feels atm that a lot of the Jamenson family are getting wound more the most. Looking forward to next stage in Redwood Talon pack story.
Jasper and willow short story. Really enjoyed this small story from redwood pack. Jasper is the beta of the pack and since confining themselves inside the den he's been more relied on to sort problems. Which are pulling him in every direction and exhausting him. Willow decides enough is enough and ropes Caitlin and Maddox to help him. Nice to see Caitlin getting her hands dirty she's been struggling with not having a place in pack other than a jamenson princess. Looking for to Logan and Caitlin book.
I won this book on Goodreads. This is the first one in the series that I have read so I didn't know any of the characters, but I was still able to get in to the book and enjoyed reading it. The list of characters helped to keep everything straight. I will definitely be looking for the other books in this series and would recommend Carrie Ann Ryan as an author who tells a great story and can keep you hooked. Can't wait to read more of her books in this series and others she has written as well.
I've read everyone of the Redwood Pack stories and can't wait for the next. Each of her stories draws you in with each hero leaving you wanting to be his. At the end I'm happy because there's always the HEA, but sad because now the wait begins for the next book:)
I truly love how even with all the craziness going on the Jameson's try to pull through and focus on Love. Even in the darkest moments they hold and treasure what they have.
