This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's "Love Has No Boundaries" event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.

My fascination with books goes way back into the past when I didn't even know I could read something that wasn't given to me in school. Writing came later. First when I tried writing down the plots of the movies I found overwhelming and later in the form of a very dark blog that connected me with people I still consider very good friends.
When in reading I always reached for happy ending romances that helped me deal with the bad side of the world, while in my short stories characters died and their life usually reflected the reality that surrounded mine.
In time, vampires and shifters took the place of knights in shiny armors and I still searched for that happy ending . But with the years also came that wish for something edgier.
My current reading habits take me daily into the world of men, where kink is preferable and angst the realistic side of life in my dose of fiction. It was only natural that my fingers followed my thoughts and I came to a point where men only ogled men and women became side characters.
Somehow out of love for reading a writer was born. I won't say that the handsome men walking through my imagination have everything a reader might want. They are usually troubled, lost and insecure, but as they slowly stroll through my worlds, they eventually find their happy ending.

Really nicely written short story of a police officer going into a BDSM club for a slave auction to extract another investigator from a different agency who has been posing as a slave in training on an exclusive island for the previous two months. In reality though the police officer is a Dom and the investigator a sub, not only that but they've played together in the past. Now with the investigator being sold at the slave auction the police officer has a chance become his full time Master, if their jobs don't get in the way.

This had elements that I've seen in other stories: cops going undercover into BDSM clubs, realizing you know the person you're supposed to be there to extract, even police officers who enjoy being submissive.
I really liked that even though so many elements were familiar, the story still managed to feel fresh. I enjoyed both of the characters. I liked that their history together, and especially their reason for breaking up, made sense.
Lovely story.

The one thing this author does well is make her MCs come to life. Very quick, hot read. I would love to read a full novel about these two.

I found this short story well-written and hot. The characters had a backstory despite the short length of the story! Enjoyed that one MC was a bit older and also enjoyed seeing a strong and masculine sub. Would have liked more. . . for instance, to see them back in their real life. But still a fun read.

this is really 4.5 stars for me, only losing that .5 because i needed it to be longer!!!
it's rare to get a BDSM story where the characters have great chemistry, truly care about each other, and are well written.
i hope this gets fleshed out into a full-length novel, i'll buy it!

Part of the 2013 Don't Read in the Closet event, Love Has No Boundaries.
another good tense read. I liked the way the story went from the photo, using police/undercover as the main story but liked the little twist of BDSM for real. Another of my favourites for this year.

There is lots of great tension and you to work out how they can settle things. Beautiful but they get what they really want.

I enjoy short reads. But I would have loved more in this one because I would have loved to read their life after this. Oh well. I loved that they shared a bit of history.

This wasn't my favourite for the fact that the BDSM lifestyle it is explaining is one I simply cannot comprehend. To want to give up everything in life, only take direction from another, that just seems too much, and the fact that this was an undercover cop who decided it was what he truly needed it felt even odder to me. However, this whole idea was well explained. From the fact that it is a unique and voluntary lifestyle, to the idea of there being the more extreme levels of need in the submissives and how that can seem even too much to others in the BDSM community, when it is still consensual.The whole scenario felt a bit to suspend your disbelief unlikely, but it was nevertheless interesting.

The first time I read through this story, I was rushed and some of it didn't quite make sense. I knew I wanted to give it another go so see if I grasped more when I wasn't under the gun.
It did. There are still a few minor issues trying to unravel the main characters' previous relationship, but I enjoyed the writing and Gavin's borderline devotion. Though I'd like to know more about how they got Spencer out of the mess he'd made with his department, the story ended in a good place for a short.
The only wrinkle that pushed me out of the story was Gavin making Spencer (spoiler to hidecrudeness)

This is a free story written as part of the Romance without boundaries event. This is where writers of M/m romance were asked to select a photo and writing prompt supplied by a fan of the genre and write an original tale.
In this story we have two undercover officers. One has been in deep cover for months training to be a sex slave and the other a part time dom who has been asked to go under and retrieve the first officer. What the rest of the force don't know, and even the two officers themselves don't know until that night in club, is that these two have a history together as dom and sub. They are still drawn together.
Great pace in this story, and back story and details that are eked out in just the right amounts. You can feel that they have great chemistry. I also liked the book understood and clearly expressed the feelings of the sub.

Excellent story. Really enjoyed the background info that was sneaked in, giving more depth to Gavin and Spencer. Happy they were able to 'find' each other again and realize what the really meant to one another.

Great read! Short but was able to feel the attraction between the mc's as well as believe them in their roles as Dom and Sub. Only thing that bugged me was one gloves up for a bj but then returns the favour with out protection?! what was the point of that?

Great characterization for a short. I liked both men - and they still have secrets to share. I'm not normally a fan of POV shift but here it really lent a lot to the story. Made it resonate deeper. There is a lot of potential for expansion here and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants more!
