The tenth installment to the Diamond and Pearl series, Lady(Platinum Berlitz) is currently at the Sinnoh Battle Frontier, trying to defeat the Frontier Brains at each facility. Meanwhile, Pearl and Dia (Diamond) are traveling back to the Old Chateau to find Rotom. When they do, Rotom shows off its 5 electrical appliances:a lawnmower(Mow Rotom), a washing machine(Wash Rotom), a refrigerator(Frost Rotom),an electrical fan(Fan Rotom), and a microwave( Heat Rotom). And where are Paka and Uji, the original bodyguards of Platinum?
Like Serena in the Pokémon anime,I loved to see Platinum grow and mature. Seeing Serena evolve from insecure to strong made me cry. She is my favorite character besides Dawn in the anime.
And Serena had a lot of her own moments in the anime.
Let’s get on to the review though...
In this book Platinum gets ready to fight against the battle frontier.
She has to face many challenges ahead of her as she tries to get information from the brains on the distortion world because...
That’s where her bodyguards are.
Now,I don’t know if I want to read the other volumes in the series but I would love to see the eleventh and final installment of the series.
Sadly my school library doesn’t have it.
However,I do hope my favorite protagonist gets a good ending because following the main storyline this has to be my favorite series out of the bunch.
It’s engaging, riveting, and has its own spin of style. Fresh and funky.
I am very pleased to say that Platinum gets her own story in this volume. She occupies most of the book, there are frequent breaks in between but it doesn’t bring its focus from Platinum ever.
I loved to see her use her logic and skills to fight back against the trainers.
And when the trainers thought they had the upper hand,Platinum comes back with an even more badass game strategy.
And that’s why I admire her character: brave, willing to try,and headstrong.
You will definitely want to take a good look at this volume in the series. Definitely my favorite.
And that cover of Platinum fighting with her Pokémon?
That is so badass to.
Not only as a fan of Pokémon, but for a reader it manga when it sucks you need to see this.
Highly recommended.

I enjoyed this one, there were quite a lot of battles in this one, that felt a little bit rushed for some of them, however I enjoyed them. Platinum is doing her best for Looker and all her friends. Diamond and Pearl are being their normal comedic duo, and making new friends. I loved the brief Daisy cameo, I really like her.
I thought it was super cool when they fought with the Pokemon and how Pokemon battles worked. I can't wait to read the Pokemon rules in the book. A little girl fights against the leaders, and she won. She beat everyone!
This one was a lot better than the latter half of the last volume (which was the end of Diamond and Pearl and the beginning of Platinum). Can't wait to see what the next one has in store.
A bit of a haphazard set of chapters, with the party suddenly splitting. Platina rushes through the Battle Frontier while the other characters don't really do all that much.
Platinum Berlitz continues her quest to save her lost bodyguards while Dia & Pearl investigate Sinnoh Region's legendary Pokemon. Meanwhile, Charon continues to make his own inquiries.
This volume does a better job with Platinum in the lead role. While the story is bracketed by cameoes from Diamond and Pearl, she is the focus. Hidenori Kusaka does a good job of using the Battle Frontier's leadership to provide the commentary to Platinum's usually silent prodigious advancement. While I still wouldn't call it great, it's passable enough that an adult reading it on his child's recommendation won't be too pained.
Update: I bought this in 2014 and read it back then (I have it marked down as 2016 tho lol) and it has been a goal of mine to finally collect the series and read them up to this point and I can say that I finally did it. This series is so much fun, Platinum is one of my favorite characters in the series and I love the little references made to the previous chapters (even if the 'Dex Holders themselves do no appear).
