The historical book “Fc Barcelona More Than A Club” was written by the company World Soccer. This book talks about the history of the club FC Barcelona. Fc Barcelona is a team in the region of Cataluña in Spain. They always fought for independence and wanted to become their own country. Fc Barcelona won many hard and prestigious trophies such as 4 Champions leagues (European cups) 22 la Liga trophies (Spanish league cups). They won 26 Spanish cups and 11 Spanish Super Cups. In total they have 82 trophies. Fc Barcelona’s all time top scorer is Lionel Messi. Messi was the all time top scorer at the age of 24. Today at the age of 27 Messi scored more than 400 goals and has more than 100 records. Messi won 4 times in a row the player of the year (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012), which any player has beaten. In book the author talked as well about the Brazilian star Ronaldinho. Ronaldinho’s actual name is Ronaldo de Assis Moreira; he turned it into Ronaldinho, which means little Ronaldo in Portuguese. Ronaldinho won the player of the year in 2005 with Barcelona. He won the 2006 Champions league and 3 La Liga. Guardiola was a very important person to Barcelona’s history. He was a player that helped Barcelona win their first Champions league in 1992 and helped them win some Spanish leagues. In 2009 he was nominated manager. With him as coach Barcelona had glory years. They won 14 trophies in 5 years (4 soccer seasons). He won 2 Champions leagues, 3 La Liga’s and much more trophies. As one can see Fc Barcelona had great players and history.
There where many facts in this book. One fact is that FC Barcelona won 82 trophies. The second fact is that Messi is all time Fc Barcelona top scorer. More interesting fact is that in the 29th of November 2010 Fc Barcelona beat their all time rivals Real Madrid by the score of 5-0. A fourth fact about Barcelona’s history was that Messi is the all time Champions league top scorer with 74 goals the previous record was 71 goals by Raul a Real Madrid Sticker. Finally Lionel Messi is el Classico’s top scorer with 13 goals (games against Real Madrid) I think that Lionel Messi is hero in Fc Barcelona for many reasons. The first reason is that he scored many crucial goals in very crucial moments for Fc Barcelona, for example the 2009 Champions league final the 2011 Champions league final and all the El Classico goals. Another reason why he is a hero is owing to the fact that he is Fc Barcelona’s entire time top scorer at the age of 24. The last reason why Messi is a hero in Fc Barcelona is due to the fact that he helped Fc Barcelona win 14 trophies and he is only 27. Messi became famous owing to the fact that he plays for one of the best teams in the world. Second he is the best player of the history of the famous balling sport. Finally he is famous owing to the fact that he won more than one hundred records at the age of 27 according to 4 times in a row player of the year. To conclude, Messi was a big part of Fc Barcelona’s history.
I would recommend this book to many different kinds of people. First I recommend it to the people who love Fc Barcelona. I would also recommend it to people who appreciate the phenomenal players such as Lionel Messi and much more.I would as well recommend it to people who are new to English owing to the fact that the words are not very advanced . FC Barcelona has a very simple way of playing. First, the team got fresh players. The president of FC Barcelona thought of having young players play with the team in the 21st century. "The beginning of the new century saw an even greater generation emerge from the academy: Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Busquets, Pique, Pedro, and Fabregas" (Jokulsson 21). Second, they used a plan that nobody used before. They used a plan called "tiki-taka". "Young players at La Masia learn Barcelona's unique style of football, which is called 'tiki-taka'" (Jokulsson 21). All in all, FC Barcelona has one of the finest tactics in the history of football.
One of the best games that was played by FC Barcelona is El Classico. First, Messi has been the top scorer. He scored 18 goals in this type of game which is Barca vs Real Madrid. Second, Barca has beaten Real Madrid too much times and Morinho admitted it. "Mourinho admitted that his team had been outclassed by Barcelona" (Jokulsson 37). Therefore, FC Barcelona's famous games were against Real Madrid where most of the time outclasses them.
Messi is the best player in the seasons 2011-12 and 2012-13. First, he scored 10 hat-tricks in La Liga. This is the most hat-tricks someone ever scored in La Liga in the history of soccer. Second, he scored 91 goals in 2012. "He scored 91 goals in 2012, 79 for Barca and 12 for Argentina" (Jokulsson 40). To conclude, Messi has broke so much records and can still break even more.
5 player from FC Barcelona were called the Five Musketeers. First, they made the best team in FC Barcelona. Victor Valdes, Sergio Busquests, Fabregas, Pique, Neymar. Second, Neymar made a big change within the 5 players. "He debuted in La Liga when Barcelona mauled Levante 7-0" (Jokulsson 55). Furthermore, FC Barcelona's 5 Musketeers changed FC Barcelona.

Neymar had a great impact over Barcelona in the summer 2013. First, he helped Barca win his first game with them. In a friendly game versus the Thai National team they won 7-1 with the help of Neymar. Second, Neymar scored his first competitive goal. In that day he was very excited and happy to score his first goal in a cup which was the Spanish Super Cup." This goal proved vital, as Barcelona went on to win the Super Cup" (Jokulsson 47). All in all, he changed Barcelona into a better team and made them win more trophies.
Xavi Hernandez is a very special player in Barcelona. First he is called the Maestro. He's called that name because he plays very calm and he runs the game in an important match which makes him a genius. Second,him and Iniesta became the best Midfield in Barcelona with the help of Messi. " After Xavi was paired with Iniesta, Barca's midfield has simply been the best in the world [...] When Messi joined the team, always ready to recieve passes from Xavi..." (Jokulsson 51). Furthermore, Xavi and Iniesta has made Barca a team that almost everybody will love, and respect.
Pique had a great impact on Barcelona’s wins and looses.First, he scored many goals in great matches and also in important matches. He defended very well and also helped Barcelona win. On the other hand, he made sometimes Barcelona loose. He isn’t very fast which was his inconvenient. “‘ I know I made Barca loose sometimes but I also helped them in important games’” (Jokulsson 55). To conclude, Pique helped, saved Barca and also made them loose.
Puyol has been one of the best players of Barca because everything that he did made sense and helped Barca. First, he never disrespected anyone and helped Barca. He scored many goals for them and he also defended like a boss. Second, he has been the best defender in the history of Barca. He has been a great person to everybody and helped everybody. “‘All my life, I wanted to do that’” (Jokulsson 54). To finish, Puyol is a legend that will never be forgotten.

Barca's stadiums were enormous and different from each other. First, Camp Nou isn't the first stadium they had. They had before that "La Industria", then there was "Camp de Les Corts" and even more. Second, the capacity of holding people was very different. The first stadium had 6,000 the second one had 20,000 the 3rd one had 60,000 then it was 121, 749 which then became smaller to 99,354. "And currently the stadium has room for 9, 354 people" "(Jokulsson 16). To conclude Barca's homes were different from each other.
In the year of 2006, Barca became very happy with their precious trophy. First, it was a difficult year for them. They passed Chelsea, Benefica, and AC Milan, this 3 teams were very good at that time whch made it harder on FC Barcelona. Second, Arsenal took the lead. IN the finals against Arsenal, Barca was about to loose 1-0 to Arsenal but at the 76th minute Eto'o scores the equalizer and then Belletti scores the winning goal."the catalans has already knocked out Chelsea, Benfica, and AC Milan" (Jokulsson 30). All in all, Barcelona had a lucky year in 2006.
Barcelona is on their feet again and win their third Champions League. First, they were helped by Pep. Pep Guardiola was their coach which helped them a lot and this is an example of them. Second, without the help of Messi they could've lost. Messi helped them to score a second goal on Manchester United to make sure they don't equalise. "...and then Messi sealed the victory" (Jokulsson 32). To sum up, Messi has shown his great talent again by helping them.
Barcelona has been very imprecive in their games between 2008 and 2010. First, they won Manchester United again. In the finals of the Champions League, they won again against Manchester United. Second, they had difficult clubs to play against. "Barca faced its archival Real Madrid in the semifinals" (Jokulsson 34). Ultimatly, they had been very successful through the years 2008 and 2010.

FC Barcelona won many Copa del Rey. First , they won three from 1963 and 1971.First,they won thee from 1963 and 1971. "Barcelona won the Copa Del Rey three times between 1963 and 1971." (Jokulsson 18). Second, they're in the finals this year. They just won Villareal and went on to the final. To conclude FC Barcelone won many Copa del Rey, and had also succeeded this year.
Cruyff had a great impact on FC Barcelona. First, he helped them win. Cruyff helped Barca win Copa Del Rey versus Atletico Madrid. Second, Cruyff told Josep Luis Nunez something very important. "'Establish a new youth academy. That will bring you success" (Jokulsson 18). To sum up, Cruyff helped FC Barcelona.
The Dream Team was about to be knocked out of the European league. First, they could've score to go to the finals. When Koeman scored, Barca fans were very happy because it was they're first European Cup. Second, It was difficult to win Sampdoria in the finals. "The Italian club was one of the strongest team Italy and had a very stong attack , which had Gianluca Vialli, and Roberto Mancini" (Jokulsson 24). All in all, Barca won their first European title in the years1991 and 1992.

It means that the first step to success is to form a team, as what barcelona, a great and rewarding team did.Progress for Henry Ford is when everyone agrees with the other, and the most important thing is when making the effort and helping each other becomes the first duty for a player in order to make the team better . When you work together like Barcelona does with "Tiki Taka", you find success. Jokulsson published this amazing book where he mentioned many times the importance and the evolution to success for FC Barcelona, he also showed that working hard will bring to an amazing end, and the living example is FCB.
Success is one of the themes of this book because it happened many times. First, "Tiki Taka" helped them. "Tiki Taka" was very useful for Barca because with it, they on many important games which led to success. Second, Cruyff helped them a lot. "By may 1996, Barca had won eleven titles and trophies under Cruyff" (Jokulsson 23). All in all, Barca successed many times with coaches and startegies which is why it is one of the themes of this book.

El Clasico is something very important for both Barca and Real Madrid. First, these two hate each other and El Clasico is the time to show which one is better than the other. Second, El Clasico is the time to show your talent and what you can do. el Clasico is a very difficult match which Messi and Neymar and many other legends, showed their talents. To sum up, Real Madrid has more victories and more goals scored on Barca, but Messi has succeded in showing his talent in this difficult type of match.

FC Barcelona is a book about the story of one of the biggest club of soccer of all time. Barcelona was created in 1899 by a group of young foreigners living in Barcelona. After many years FC Barcelona became very powerful in the world of soccer. In the 21st century a new generation of players came from the center of formation (La Masia). In 2008 Pep Guardiola became the manager after his career of soccer in the Barcelona team, and made a team with players that came from La Masia. Today the FC Barcelona is the greatest soccer team in the entire world. I liked this book because the FC Barcelona is my favorite team and it was great to learn all these facts about it.

Great informational text for soccer fans! I really liked the blend of Spanish history with the players' personal histories and stats. Full-sized pictures, both past and present as well as a glossary and fun activities in the back. As a teacher, I'm glad to have this book in my toolbox as a way of engaging soccer fans!

Good sports book, what you expect, plenty of historical information, very details, worth reading for any football fan, book is well presented thtoughout, no editorial errors, a fine football book
