Hana and Nanase have come a long way, but they haven’t quite taken the plunge to being a full couple, even after an eventful summer. With a school festival looming and degenerates seen hanging around outside the school, is there even time for love fo blossom?
This is a standard-in-a-good-way shojo manga that happens to have occasional flashes of brilliance when it decides to turn convention on its head. It gets the job done with an almost workmanlike regularity and I respect that it maintains a very reliable level of quality.
This volume is very introspective and ‘what does it mean’ and ‘oh are we going out’ and such, so the little moments give it that extra bit of oomph. The confession scene here (yet another one, this story’s had a couple) is pretty delightful and, uh, more dynamic than I’m used to (Nanase being Nanase during it is really fun). The conclusion also has a little more weight than we typically see here.
I was rolling my eyes when they mentioned those degenerates at the school and the book is absolutely miserable about going down that garden path until the last possible second. I don’t know that it was an attempted trolling, but it sure feels like one and it was hilarious.
The other big moment is the very real one towards the end, when Hana admits something that I think more people entering relationships should and is pretty surprising coming from a guy. I really, really liked that. However plain the book may be, there’s no denying that these two have great chemistry together.
Everything else is business as usual, so not much else to say, honestly. This series is at its best when it breaks out of its lane, but it does quite satisfactorily in that lane as well. We really put some of the ongoing plot to bed here and I’m looking forward to what comes next.
3 stars, maybe 3.5 for some of the choice ‘against type’ work it puts in. I can’t deny that it’s impressive for a book to just gloss over the entire school festival like that, so bonus points for that too. This story’s been fun and sometimes surprises in interesting ways, which makes it pretty worthwhile in my book.

Ah, mi son dimenticata! É stato marcato come Series finished perché io ho tutti i volumi stampati in Italia. Per me è considerata serie finita perché non dipende da me continuare o no fino al quattordicesimo e ultimo volume.

Contains Chapters 13- 16: I really enjoyed this volume and am looking forward to seeing how Hana and Nanase's relationship will continue now that they have gotten together.
