So I decided to review this book for a few different reasons. One was because of the cover – it just spoke to me. Another was because of the genre. While I love me some romance, I also like the naughty side of it too. Yeah, yea, I am that person :) – Third being it was suggested to me by a friend. We all know me and taking people up on their suggestions!

Jody is a divorced mom. Seriously; I’ve really gotten into books lately about women rebuilding their lives after a divorce. I guess because, sadly, it’s so common lately, that it makes the book more easy to believe. Getting back on track here lol — she, like most of us, has a clumsy moments and ends up eye to eye with a good hunk of many candy. Chemistry BEYOND chemistry is oozing from the two of them from just a small amount of contact. Drawn to him in ways she cannot explain, Jody pretty much determines that a trip is going to turn into something she never could have planned.

Taggart has some issues of his own. Issues he would rather not get into with anyone.. ever. Being an erotic romance, you can imagine the scenes that jumped off the pages at us! Very well written and not much was left to the imagination. The characters of this novel were so well likable that it made the read much more enjoyable. I even kind of liked her ex-husband! (and we all know that never happens!) The chemistry between Jody and Taggart was also well written!

As far as the plot, I felt that at times it was a bit all over the place. Not too much to where it threw the story off, but enough to make me want to shake the book one or two times. With that, came the fact that I could predict what happened. This is in NO WAY the authors fault! I think it is because I am use to all the Romantic Suspense and Thrillers and stuff that I read, that I am not used to being able to determine things that are going to happen before they actually do!

Overall SAIL AWAY WITH ME by Kate Deveaux was a good read and I hope you all give it a chance!

We begin with Jody joining her friends for a girl's cruise. She's a single mom, and right away you are rooting for her to have the time of her life. And then it happens, Tall, Dark, and Handsome shows up right out of the gate and saves her shoe. Perfect, right?

Immediately we're curious about Taggart Keith. He's got that killer smile and instantly, Jody is caught up in all that pretty. But, she's not the kind of girl that has random flings on cruise ships, or so she thinks.

You gotta love a guy that goes after what he wants, and Taggart is relentless in his quest to break down Jody's walls. You want this for Jody, she's a hard-working mama and she deserves a little naughty adult fun.

The chemistry between these two was instantaneous and steamy. They don't waste any time once they get started and whoa, do they make things happen.

And then reality sets in. After such an amazing week with Taggart, and the best sex of her life, Jody starts to realize that they are from two separate worlds, his flashy celebrity status and her routine small town soccer mom in California.

Again, Taggart shows us that he's not the type of guy to just let something he wants slip out of his fingers. He finds her and the romance starts up all over again. You'll be crossing your fingers that they make it work. He wins over her kid, her dad, her friends... there's just all kinds of swoon going on . Taggart is the guy to root for, and you will be. Trust.

This is a well earned happily ever after, and I look forward to reading more from Kate Deveaux!

Grab yourself a copy of this great romance! I had a lot of fun reading it!

There's nothing like embarking on a little on board romance, especially when it can turn into true love ... even when you're not looking for it!

Jody Carter is a recently divorced single mother who has sworn off men. Best friends Cricket, Doreen, and Lauren convince Jody to come with them on a week long Caribbean cruise.

Taggart Keith is a well-known self-help author who takes the cruise to promote his latest book and hold celebrity guest lectures.

While boarding the cruise ship, Jody's shoe gets caught in the gangplank, and when she tries to free it, the shoe goes flying through the air and is caught by Taggart. Instant attraction leads to a fantasy week full of passion, pleasure, and fun, but when the cruise is over and it's back to reality, can Jody and Taggart's love remain?

Sail Away With Me is a sassy contemporary erotic romance that sweeps the readers off their feet. Author Kate Deveaux weaves a sexy tale of finding love in an unexpected place, that is full of romance, passion, fun, and steamy sensuous sexual love scenes.

The first half of Jody and Taggart's story takes place on the cruise ship, then the second half takes place after the cruise when they return to their own lives. I really enjoyed watching as Taggart broke down Jody's walls and found a place in her heart while they enjoyed the fantasy week of passion and pleasure on the cruise ship. The sexual chemistry between them was sizzling hot, hot, hot! But just when the fun can't get any better, reality sets in when the cruise is over and they return to their own lives. Real life intrudes on their budding relationship, they live on opposite coasts and have responsibilities that will leave them having to make a decision if their love can survive past the week's fantasy cruise that they spent together.

Author Kate Deveaux has created an entertaining story that nicely interweaves fantasy and reality within Jody and Taggart's romance. I really enjoyed how the author seamlessly intermixed the trials and tribulations of Jody and Taggart's developing relationship with the real life issues that also plagued Jody's best friends. With an engaging cast of characters; quirky dialogue and fun interactions; and a delightful storyline full of intriguing plot twists; Sail Away With Me is a sexy contemporary erotic romance that will leave the reader wanting more!

Who doesn’t love a little vacation romance with the potential for more? Newly divorced Jody is on a girl’s trip cruise with her friends: a chance to get away and leave the stress of her divorce, newly single status and single mum behind. Strappy and sexy sandals and a heel stuck in the gangplank have Jody face to face with Taggart: the man who rescued her shoe from the apparent certain fate of landing in the sea.

Taggart is handsome, charming and obviously attracted to Jody. There’s just one catch: he’s a celebrity with the lifestyle and fans that come with it. Jody can’t see herself involved with him, even for a shipboard fling. But, Taggart perseveres, and his company and charm wear her down while his sexual prowess wears her out: the perfect antidote for what ails her. But, this is only a getaway romance, a chance to feel young and appreciated again, and Jody has no plans to see him again.

Taggart agrees to the short term, but back on land he can’t forget the woman who was so fun, so captivating and so giving. He sets his cap on winning her forever: and goes about the carefully planned and presented set of reasons that they are good together. Even including his learning to deal with a 12 year old boy, where his lack of experience is evident, but his willingness to learn and take advice are endearing. But, not all is roses: Jody is far more committed to raising her son and managing her life without relying on a man ever again. When Taggart’s secret comes to life, Jody is hurt and angry – and pushes him to take his own advice and take responsibility.

The characters in this story are engaging and real: with concerns that are far beyond many contemporary romances. These are fully fledged adults, with lifetimes of baggage to sort through and commitments that aren’t based solely on their love lives. While Taggart is reasonably unencumbered, Jody is a mother first and all other declaratives later: a mature woman with a sense of herself and what is important and this makes the story far different in emotional impact than many contemporary romances.

With seamless integration of her friend’s into the storyline, we see Jody as a woman and a friend, and her friends also are able to talk about their own relationship quandaries that add tangible elements to the story: elements that every reader can relate to. Deveaux has managed to incorporate several factors beyond the romance into this story that give slices of life and breath to the plot.

I really enjoyed this book. I had the author mixed up with another author, and I though that this book was a New Adult book. Sail Away with Me is not a New Adult book, it's an Contemporary Romance book.

Jody goes on a cruise with her friends, Cricket, Doreen, and Lauren. Taggart and Jody meet on the cruise ship. The scene where they meet is funny. She is relocated to start anything more than a cruise ship fling. Taggart seems very sweet and tries to convince Jody he is worth a relationship. Taggart has a secret that may threaten their relationship. I was surprised when that secret came out.

There are ups and downs for all characters in this story. The characters are written well and are easy to connect with. There definitely is a lot that happens in this story that normal people go through, so you won't have any problems connecting with the characters. And as a bonus there is no cliffhanger.

Originally published at Reading Reality

When rich, successful and sinfully handsome author Taggart Keith rescues Jody Carter from an epic shoe disaster in the opening scene of Sail Away With Me, it sets both the reader and Jody, up for a delicious (not to mention absolutely blistering hot) shipboard romance with Taggart cast as the Prince Charming and Jody playing Cinderella.

Except that soccer-mom Jody isn’t just a soccer-mom, and Taggart is both more and less than a Prince, no matter how charming he might be.

Jody may have only managed to afford the Caribbean cruise because one of her friends won the trip-for-four as a prize package, but she’s not poor, and she’s certainly not downtrodden. Also she’s not waiting for a man to rescue her. Jody is divorced and the mother of a pre-teen son. She is also a well-known artist in her native northern California. While she’s not wealthy in material goods, she has great friends and the love of her family. Her life is good.

Her ex-husband wasn’t a bad guy. He just wasn’t the right guy. He’s a dreamer who kept over-investing in terrible business ideas, and bailing him out repeatedly caused Jody to put off her dreams of being an artist too many times. Financial incompatibility eventually crushed their marriage. There’s no villain here, just two people who didn’t work out.

But Jody has responsibilities at home. Her son. Her artistic career. Her widowed father who lives in the cottage on her property. She has a real life, and one that doesn’t include a lot of free time, a lot of luxuries, or a lot of time to indulge herself.

It doesn’t help that the sexual side of her marriage ended way before the marriage did. So when Taggart Keith pours on the charm, Jody wakes up to being a desirable woman again for the first time in a long time.

But Taggart is attracted to more than just Jody’s looks. Because the self-help guru, and that’s what Taggart is, finds Jody to be someone genuine and honest in a life that has felt increasing fake. He may have started by chasing another pretty face and body, but he sticks around because of the things that make Jody tick. Her strengths combined with her vulnerability.

They both start out believing that what they have is a shipboard romance, but by the end of the cruise, realize that they have laid their hearts on the line. That’s where the fairytale ends and the truth begins.

Because of course this isn’t a Cinderella tale after all. Not because the clock strikes midnight and Cinderella has to go back home, but because it turns out that Taggart is not Prince Charming.

It’s a good thing that Jody doesn’t need rescuing, because Taggart Keith isn’t capable of rescuing anyone. He can’t even figure out how to rescue himself.

Escape Rating B: It almost feels like there are two separate stories packed into this one romance, even though they are both about the same couple. One story is the sparkling and witty erotic shipboard romance between charming Taggart and temporarily footloose Jody. This is a temporary fling between two people who are mostly living a fantasy away from their everyday lives for the length of the cruise.

We think that Jody is the only one who is getting the chance to spend a few days away from her regular life and routine, but we find out after the ship returns to dock that Taggart had as many, possibly more reasons than Jody to want a few days respite from the real world.

Jody has a life worth returning to. She may not be wealthy like Taggart, but her world is filled with family and friends who love and respect her. She is living her dream of painting, and her work is selling. Even though there are a few bumps in her road, she likes her life.

Taggart’s real life is the one with the problems. Money definitely does not buy happiness. So even though Jody misses him every bit as much as he misses her, part of what he misses about her is her genuineness. Too many of the people in his world are fakes. Including himself.

Unlike many romances, the misunderstanding that brings the crises in this relationship is definitely not fake or exaggerated for effect. It is major and extremely important. Readers will wonder if they would have forgiven someone they loved for an omission of this magnitude.

Instead of a Cinderella story, with Jody in the title role, the fairy tale this romance most closely resembles is a reverse Sleeping Beauty, with Taggart as the sleeper. Jody forces him to finally wake up to what’s really important, and just to what’s real.

But it all starts with a shoe.

I was at first drawn to this book for the superficial reason of the heroine having the same name as me. By reading it though I found an entertaining and super steamy read, realistic in its depictions of romance for a single mother trying to juggle many roles and the ups and downs of a supportive group of friends. This story took us from the exotic locations visited during a cruise to the homey feeling of small town America and how that affects a woman's actions in the dance of love.

Jody is still recovering from a divorce and the belief that she's frigid. Her friends take her on a cruise to relax, put the past behind her, and enjoy her newly-single status. A flying shoe leads to a life altering encounter with the charmingly seductive writer Taggart that has her channeling her inner vixen in an unexpectedly spontaneous relationship that will end in a week. Their week together is like a fantasy with its numerous scorching sexual encounters and non-stop romantic words that every woman longs to hear. Jody's not normally the type to act so wantonly but knowing things will end soon have her diving into everything Taggart offers wholeheartedly. She's shocked when they both admit to feeling more but with such different lifestyles she doesn't see a future for them. Taggart's not like any man she's met before though and is surprised to find him on her doorstep trying to make a permanent place in her life until his possessive agent gets in the way. Jody is an average woman trying to juggle the roles of mother, daughter, and bread earner which leaves little time to be a sexual creature. Almost every sexual interlude therefore had a frantic feel to it as their relationship always seemed to be ticking away. Jody's a loyal friend as well as was seen in the many secondary plot lines revolving around her girlfriend's trials and tribulations. These scenes were realistic but felt a bit intrusive at times and took away from the romance between her and Taggart. I admired Jody and her striving to be independent, she's a modern-day woman and I was rooting for her HEA every step of the way.

Taggart is the kind of man every woman wants to meet! He's sexy, charming, rich, and says every romantic word a woman wants to hear. He sweeps Jody off her feet in a whirlwind of sex, seduction, and empowering compliments. He also doesn't take no for an answer and even though he and Jody live very different lives he wants a life with her and will do whatever necessary to claim her. Taggart's great with her friends and easily ingratiates himself with them as well as her son. On almost every level he's perfect, except when it comes to his relationship with his overly possessive agent Felicity. Her antics are over-the-top in her dealings with Jody as jealousy has her accusing and threatening Jody, and ultimately Taggart, at every turn. Taggart's excuses for her and tendency to forgive because of their complicated past left me a bit disillusioned and frustrated by him. Even though these issues are ultimately dealt with in a quickly glossed over finale it left his image a bit tarnished in my eyes.

From start to finish Ms. Deveaux has created a story that nicely blends reality with a scorching hot fantasy-like romance. With its likable heroine and her supportive group of friends there's a feeling of girl power permeating the story as they protect each other at every turn. The hero is almost perfect and left me swooning numerous times throughout the story. Though certain aspects of the story felt like a Lifetime movie in the melodramatic and over-the-top reactions, I still found much to enjoy between the pages. Fans of hot romance and soap opera action will find this appealing too and have me looking forward to reading more from this author.

Sail Away With Me is a light, sweet and engaging read with charismatic characters who kept me engaged from beginning to end.

Jody Carter is very recently divorced and is slowly trying to find her way in the new world that she has found herself in. She is trying to find the right balance between being a mother and an artist with a burgeoning career. She definitely has her priorities in line, but often times, like so many women, she neglects her wants and needs while taking care of others. Her friends convince her to go on a cruise to let loose and have fun. When she meets Taggart Keith, she gets way more than she wants, or expects. I really enjoyed Jody’s character and felt that her feelings, concerns and actions were very honest and authentic. She is attracted to Taggart, but fights it every step of the way because she thinks that is what she needs to do.

Taggart Keith is is an author and speaker on the self-help circuit. After meeting Jody on the cruise where he is a guest speaker, he is immediately intrigued by her and the feelings that she awakens in him. After years of trying to help other people, he realizes that he may be the one that needs a little help, and thinks that Jody is just the person to give it to him. He doesn’t realize that he is in the for the fight of his life! I really liked Taggart’s sweetness and honesty with Jody. He was tenacious in his fight to win Jody over, and I loved that he accepted the challenge of winning her heart instead of just giving up.

Sail Away With Me was a fun read but I wanted more. The dialogue between Jody and Taggart was great. However, the interactions and dialogue between Jody, and her group of friends, felt very stiff, unrealistic and unsupportive. I just didn’t feel their connection, and support for each other, like I wanted to. The book only skimmed the surface of the potential that these characters had, I wanted to delve deeper into their stories and personalities so that I could’ve understood their actions better.

Overall, Sail Away With Me is a quick, fun, light-hearted and sweet read that I think fans of the romance genre will enjoy. The magic of finding love where you least expect it, and when you’re not looking for it, is always a win!

I was given the ARC of Sail Away With Me in exchange for an honest review. When I read the synopsis for the story, I was very much intrigued with the concept of a shipboard romance.

Jody Carter is a woman with a teenage son recently divorced from a man who smooth-talks his way through everything. Still overcoming the fact that her marriage failed, she is convinced by her three friends that she needs to take a holiday with them and put that all behind her. Despite the baggage of her past, she agrees to go on the cruise never expecting to find romance. But when she meets Taggart, she is quickly captivated by his charm. Jody struggles to maintain her composure but soon realizes she is fighting an uphill battle and ultimately gives into her attraction. But as her vacation comes to end, she focuses on accepting that what she and Taggart shared was simply a weeklong vacation fling, never anticipating it could be anything more.

Taggart Keith is a self-help author merely taking the cruise to work at promoting his latest book and holding lectures never expecting that the words he writes could apply to his life as well. But when he comes to Jody’s rescue as the cruise begins, he becomes enchanted with her beauty never waning in his persistent pursuit trying to breakdown her defenses. As with Jody, Taggart never anticipates that what begins as a shipboard romance could turn into a love the caliber of which he has never experienced nor did he ever expect to find.

Sail Away With Me is a story of finding love in a most unexpected place, and there are most definitely some sexy, steamy moments between Jody and Taggart. The first half of this story takes place on board the cruise ship, and the remainder takes place on land. As the characters spend time together outside the “fantasy world” of vacation, they see into each other's lives realizing how very different they are which leaves them with having to make the decision of whether or not they have found a love that will truly last a lifetime.

4.5 Star Review

I was given Sail Away With Me by Kate Deveaux for an honest review for Swoon Worthy Books. I am going to be honest I had never heard of this author before, but I can say that she has a new book fan in me. I loved her writing style. She captured my heart with this wonderful read. Truly this is a romance. You see the good and the bad in the characters; there are times when you have to ask yourself is the character crazy for doing this. This is truly what I love about romance.

Jody Carter is a divorced mother who has sworn off men! Her focus is strictly being a good soccer mom to her son, helping her father and her painting. When her friend wins a trip for four on a luxury cruise ship she tries to let all of her worries go and focus on relaxing. But as she is boarding the ship her shoe gets caught in the gangway and as she is trying to get it loose, it flies off only to get saved by a very tall, tanned and handsome Adonis, who turns out to be Author Taggart Keith. But Jody tries to ignore her feelings for him, until he wears her down, but all she wants is a one week fling. She does not think she can be with him after the cruise has ended. But will she open her heart to trust him and be with a man who loves her.

Taggart Keith is aboard the Pearl Of The Sea cruise ship as part of his job. He is a motivational speaker and best-selling Author that is doing workshops on the cruise. But he happens to trapped by his feelings for Jody Carter when he meets her. He tries everything to get her to lower her defenses and when she finally does he falls head over heels for her. But the only thing is Taggart has a secret and he has to come to terms with that secret and tell Jody, but also get her to fall in love with him and convince her to be with him.

This is such a great love story. And I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next. I am looking forward to more of her work in the future.

*Sigh*. Sail Away with Me is such an entrancing romance. I absolutely love a story where everything seems to work out for everyone involved. What better place than a cruise ship to find true love. Thank goodness I'm getting on a cruise ship in less than a week, or I think I might have died of jealousy! Ms. Deveaux has created two great characters and written them into a wonderful love story.

Jody is newly divorced, but it sounds like her marriage was over long before the papers were finalized. With a twelve-year-old son to care for, she doesn't think she has time to even look for another love. Fortunately, her flying shoe thought differently and flew straight to sexy Taggart. Such an amusing way to meet a guy. What follows is a whirlwind romance full of fun and late night passion aboard a glamorous cruise ship.

Taggart is a hunky self-help guru who is on the cruise hosting a series of lectures. He comes off as a player the was he's so smooth with Jody. This guy really has the right moves. I doubt there's a woman out there who could resist a full blast of his charm aimed at them. He falls hard for Jody. But the two soon discover that life on land isn't as magical as it is at sea. Real life intrudes, serving up some major conflict in their budding relationship. For a self-help guru, Taggart certainly is blind when it comes to his own life.

The first half of the story takes place during the cruise and the second part is the aftermath. I loved all the romantic scenes on the cruise ship. Taggart and Jody were sizzling. The secondary characters were a lot of fun. Each one had just enough back story to make them interesting. If you're looking for a fast-paced, sweet romance with lots of sizzling encounters, be sure to add Sail Away With Me to your TBR list.

Jody is on a cruise with three of her girlfriends in an attempt to have some fun 6 months after her divorce is finalized. She has a 12 year old son, and has no thoughts of being in another relationship. At the beginning of the cruise she has a run-in with celebrity author Taggart Keith, who will be doing some lectures on the cruise about his latest best-selling self-help book. Taggart is very attractive, very smooth, and quickly pursues Jody who finds she can't resist him, nor does she want to. They spend a very sexy week together on the cruise, and Jody experiences the best sex of her life and feelings are awakened that she did't think she would ever feel again. Jody knows that real life will set in as soon as the cruise ends, and she and Taggart will go on with their very different lives and responsibilities. As the week goes on, both of them realize that saying goodbye at the end of the cruise will be very difficult.

This book reminded me of an old-school romance novel. While the content is contemporary, there is definitely a classic feel to it. There is also a fairly predictable story line. That said, the chemistry and passion between Jody and Taggart is very hot and sexy. Their passion for one another is palpable, and throughout everything it is easy for the reader to be cheering both of them on and hoping that things work out for them. Jody's group of friends is interesting and it is nice too see them supporting one another. If you are looking for a good steamy romance story without a lot of surprises, then this will be an enjoyable read for you.

Jody is a recently divorced single parent who has sworn off men. She is about to set sail on the Pearl of the Sea cruise ship along with three of her female friends. As she's boarding the ship her shoe gets caught in the gangway. In an attempt to free it, she sends her shoe flying through the air. It's caught by Taggart, a rich successful author of self-help books who also happens to be extremely attractive. There is instant physical chemistry between them and they begin a steamy relationship but Jody has reservations due to her responsibilities at home. Taggart's life is not as wonderful as it seems, he has problems of his own.

This is an erotic romance and the sex scenes are smoldering and well written, the characters sizzle on the page. The plot is believable and all the characters are well developed and likable with real life problems you can relate to. Jody was weighed down with her responsibilities, I was rooting for her to get the happy ever after she deserved. Even Jody's ex was likable, he was just a little too laid back for Jody. It was a little predictable and I felt the story jumped around a bit but overall it was an enjoyable read.

You win an all-paid cruise to the Caribbean for four, what do you do? No brainer...you invite your best friends to come with you. This is girl's time well deserved!

Jody has been invited both as one of the best friends, as well as an attempt by her girlfriends to brighten her outlook after her recent divorce to her husband of fifteen years. She has sworn off men... but Life or Fate intercedes and things get complicated.

From the moment that Taggart catches her flying shoe on the gang plank, the deed is done. Who would pass up a handsome, successful, famous, 6 foot 2 inches hunk with blue eyes? Not me for sure no matter how jaded the divorce!

This is romance at its best. Ups and downs; laughter and tears; family and friends with problems in need of Jody's intervention; above all, a sweeping romance with all the lust, passion, HOT sex you could wish for. Whew! I am fanning myself! I sat down to read this book and did not put it down until I was finished. I am writing this review after only 3 hours of sleep, but let me tell, this book was well worth it!

I will be looking for more stories from Kate Deveaux in the future. Loved her writing style and her amazing characters!

SAIL AWAY WITH ME by Kate Deveaux is a romance that starts with the cruise but doesn't end there. It goes way beyond falling in love onboard.

Jody is recently divorced and on a cruise with her three best friends that one of them won in a promotion. First thing she does is nearly lose her shoe. Thankfully a handy beefcake Prince Charming bringers her show back to her...
"Whose is this?" holding the petite sandal high in his hand, parting the crowd searching for the owner of the shoe.
-Taggart Keith, beefcake of this tale

Despite trying to keep her distance, the famous self-help author just won't give up. He positively pushes his way through her boundaries and into her heart. It's what happens after the cruise that make this more than a quick steamy romantic read. They live on opposite coasts and she cannot uproot her life, not with her son, dad and best friends all living in Beacon Bay. But will the successful author be able to leave his busy Miami life?

Sail away with Jody and Taggart and find out for yourself.

Jody just wants to have fun with her three friends on their cruise. Being divorced and a mom the last thing she wants is to get involved with a man. However her wayward shoe gets her introduced to celebrity Taggart Keith. While she tries to resist she takes a chance at having some fun with him. When the cruise is over she knows she has to say goodbye to him and get on with her life. Taggart isn't ready to say goodbye.

I really enjoyed this book as it is hot, has romance and great characters. You really like Jody, her friends, family and Taggart. Jody seems like a normal person with real issues. An ex who is always making her feel guilty and getting her to loan money to him. She is a great mom and feels.guilty for wanting time to her self. Taggart is so charming but at times doesn't see the bad in people even when he has reasons to turn a blind eye. He also loves to help out and does what he can. I like how they can't stay apart even when they say they would. Taggart does everything he can to show Jody he wants her. I hated to see the book end because I enjoyed their story so much. If you like a spicy love story be sure to get this one.

Sail Away With Me blew me away.

From the very beginning it was a pure delight.

The book follows the story of Jody Carter who went on the cruise with her friends to don´t think about men and have fun. But not thinking about men didn´t last long because he came into the picture.

Taggart Keith knows what he wants and it is Jody and he goes after her

The attraction was instant and undeniable.

But what will happen after the cruise is over? Will their path cross again or will everything that happened between them stay as a cruise fling?

I could not put this book down. I was so addicted to it.

Looking forward to read more from Kate in the future.

I was underwhelmed and frankly, bored by this pedestrian romance. I found Taggart to be underdeveloped and mildly creepy. While Jody was a nice enough heroine, she exhibited cowardice towards her friends and in dealing with her budding relationship that was difficult to rally behind.

There were some sexy hot spots in the book that piqued my interest.  Unfortunately at times, however, during those same steamy bits, the author's descriptions would be so odd that I'd be thrown from the scene, turned off and bewildered. (Example: Men in the heat of the moment should never refer to a woman's breasts as "her bosom".)

This is the kind of book you end with a huge smile on your face! I loved the story. I thought I just knew how the plot would be played out, but I kept finding myself surprised after each little twist.

Truly a great read. I loved the characters and the bits of humor with each. Each character bringing the story to life a little more with there own stories and personalities. I loved the different points of view and how well the story flowed for each to the next.

This story had the perfect amount of romance and adventure with plenty of steamy sex. Hard to put down with that powerful page turning combination.

I was first drawn to this book by the colourful cover. That wonderful expression of colour continued inside with the interesting descriptions and humour filled conversations between the group of friends and even the more intimate situations between Jody and Taggert. My favourite scene was the shoe flinging moment when they were waiting to board the boat. Really funny. This is a sweet story of woman getting her confidence back after a divorce and worthy of a couple hours of your reading time.

I was immediately drawn by the synopsis of a divorcee going on a cruise. Sail Away With Me is the story of Jody who is going on this cruise with some of her friends for some fun in the sun. It turns into that and so much more!

While on the cruise she meets the very attractive Taggart Keith. A romance blossoms and it is quite sweet with just the right amount of spice. If someone is a fan of romance novels with adult characters that are very realistic then Sail Away With Me is the book for you!

I was expecting to this book to be sexy, but my goodness. It went far beyond that. I am still fanning myself as I typing this. This is my first read by Deveaux and if this is what I am in for with her work, I want more now.

Our main character, Jody, is a busy soccer mom who finally got time for herself. She decides to go on a seven day cruise with three of her best friends. She expects relaxation and plenty of sun. What she didn't expect was to be the main attraction for a rich, self-help guru, Taggart, who is also on the cruise. I loved how instant the chemistry was between these. I loved the way they met period. Jody is wearing super uncomfortable sandals that get stuck in the deck and it nearly flies into the ocean. Taggart catches it before it reaches its watery death. I cracked up because this is the sort of embarrassing situation I would find myself in. Most likely though, my shoe would have hit another human being first. Nonetheless, these two have googly eyes for each other, but Jody wants to try and avoid him as much as she can. Her divorce has just been finalized and she has a 12-year-old son, she knows she can't handle a man right now. Taggart has other plans, however.

I liked Jody a lot in this book. I will say I wanted to hit a few times. She is constantly fighting herself and her feelings for Taggart. Sometimes it felt like she was grabbing at straws. I did understand though with her having a son about to hit his teen years and just ending her own marriage. You will root for her though. She was a great character. I enjoyed her and all of her friends. Jody is a great friend, everyone goes to her with their problems and she is always there to help. Everyone had some kind of trouble, all of which were pretty big and she was right there for them.

I also loved how she used the cruise to become a different woman. One moment she is innocent and then when she is with Taggart, she is an unpredictable vixen. He brought out so much in her in this book. It was clear. Then we have Taggart. He was damn near perfect. They both use this cruise as a way to just start a little fling and they both find out it won't be that easy. Taggart's career comes first in his life. He is a celebrity, but with Jody he sees that he has been missing something.

But that is where the problem comes in. They both come from very different worlds and they know they can't be together when the week long cruise is over. Taggart, being the self-help guru who makes a living on telling people to just go for it, he is going to take his own advice. I loved seeing their relationship grow. Jody fought him every step of the way and he was going to show her he wasn't going anywhere. She doesn't believe her mundane life would be his style. She has a son and an ex-husband who she still has to clean up after. The cruise was nothing but a fantasy. What she was on the ship is not the woman she is in real life. It all brought out something in both of them they didn't expect.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a sweet and super hot read that you will speed through. It is quite a light read and would be perfect for the summertime. This book was far sexier than I originally thought and that made me love it more. The book will make you smile one minute and melt in a puddle the next. Deveaux, thank you.

4 ROMANTIC STAR THOUGHTS

What single woman doesn't dream about going on a cruise and being swept off their feet? This is a beautiful romantic story about a recently single woman who is trying to just enjoy a cruise with her friends. But fate and a sexy man who can't stay away have other plans for her! I was hooked from the beginning with the chemistry and sexual tension between Jody and Taggart! And crossing my fingers for the HEA that Jody deserved.

"Who knows, with those shoes and a whole new attitude in life, maybe a little shipboard romance is just the ticket to put the spring back in your step." ~Lauren

A cruise with her girlfriends (Doreen, Cricket, and Lauren) is just what Jody needed! Jody is looking to have some fun with her girls and just forget about all of the responsibilities she has at home. She is a single mother to her 12 year old son and was recently divorced. Between her soccer mom duties, being an artist, and taking care of her father…she deserves a break and to just let lose. But she doesn't even know how.

Before Jody even makes it onto the ship, she is rescued by the most gorgeous man. After running into each other a few more times on the ship, Jody knows that she can't deny the chemistry that is between them. The sexual tension is off the charts…and the sex scenes are H-O-T, sweet and so romantic! Who could resist Taggart Keith??? He is a sexy, confident, and successful self-help Author. Taggart is charming and knows that he wants Jody and isn't going to give up easily, no matter how much she resists. Did I mention he is sexy??? Definitely SWOON-WORTHY!

"I wanted you to have it, it belongs on you," he said, and kissed her tenderly on the mouth. "I want you to think of us every time you wear it. And never be afraid to dream, never." ~Taggart

Once the cruise is over and they both go back to reality, neither of them can forget the connection they had. After a few calls and one steamy phone sex conversation (OMG), Taggart decides to just show up at Jody's door. Jody has no idea what to do or how to feel? Not to her surprise, he charms her father and son immediately and that makes her fall even harder for him. But she can't help but feel everything is happening too fast and is too good to be true. Can she just let go and hope he will always be there to catch her? Is he too good to be true?

" Life doesn't just happen, you have to make it happen…and you can." ~Taggart

Kate Deveaux has a new fan and I can't wait to read more from her! Sail Away With Me is full of passion, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. There were a few extra plot lines in the story and sometimes too predictable, but not enough to take away from the beautiful and romantic love story! Everyone go check it out!

I found this book to be an easy and relaxed read. Very enjoyable with a hint of every day drama yet not the intense emotional filled book that will have you on the edge of your seat. More of a curl up under the blanket and just relax and enjoy kind of book.
Jody is recovering from a recent divorce. Taking care of her 12 year old son and father, she was invited to go on a cruise with three of her friends. Needing a break from her reality she joined them with hopes of fun and relaxation. Her drama started when boarding the ship, her shoe got caught in the rails and ended up flying over the crowd, finally being caught by the sexy and charming Taggart Keith.
Taggart is a bestselling self-improvement author who was making a celebrity appearance on the cruise. He was instantly drawn to Jody but met with a great deal of resistance from her. She wasn’t ready to move on, take new risks. He was the self-proclaimed expert on putting your past behind you and creating a new life. Now we get to see where this path takes them.
The story heats up on the ship, as she allows the surroundings to go to her head and began making choices that go against her normal character, but it was so much fun to pretend not to be the responsible Jody. Taggart wanted more, he wanted a life after the cruise was over. Would he be able to get that from Jody? He wanted to make her dreams about her art work real.
We watch as they try to figure out their future once the vacation is over and real life begins. Through some bumps and tears they have to realize that this is the real world and both are going to have to tear down walls and slow down progress to make this work. I enjoyed the book, it was a nice break from the intense ones I have been reading lately. It gave me a chance to sit back and enjoy are wonderful romance with some great sex scenes that weren’t over the top and highly graphic. I would call this a certain weekend read, let your mind wonder to the beauty of love kind of experience.
