About the author

Kohta Hirano (平野 耕太 Hirano Kōta) is a Japanese mangaka most famous for his manga Hellsing. Starting his career first as a mangaka's assistant (self-described as "horrible" and "lazy" in said assistant position), and later an H manga artist, he went on to enjoy somewhat limited success with other relatively unknown manga titles such as Angel Dust, Coyote, Gun Mania and Hi-Tension. His first major success came with his manga series Hellsing, which got its start and was subsequently serialized in a monthly manga magazine, Young King OURs, towards the latter half of 1997.

План Оды Нобунаги реализуется ударными темпами. Сытые гномы постигают технологию пулемета Гатлинга, маги добывают серу, эльфы - селитру, Замки сдаются без боя, наследники Гитлера готовы идти на любые уступки.

И всё было бы замечательно, но только Черный Властелин уже начал программу коллективизации, да и древние драконы явно предпочтут склонить голову перед его страшной силой, чем продолжат играть в контры.

It's beginning to read like game theory or at least like an exercise in Age of Empires, and oh my the insanity is Fearsome. It's so easy to get lost in the art, and it's not over busy like some manga, full of details you have to pour over. This is simple and clean and oh so MAD.

It really is delightfully bloodthirsty.

The action is picking up pretty fast and it seems the opponent are just too overpowered with their magical power. Still the heroes fared pretty well so far. Lets see how they fare against them in a head to head battle like the one with Hijikata and Toyohisa. We still haven't been shown the full story of all the offscourings. Looking forward to their backstory in the future volumes.

The art is really good, the story is OK. Hirano's obsession with dumb boob jokes drives me nuts. They are so out of place and unwarranted too. It makes it feel like a 12 year old boy is writing this. I am looking forward to the mechanics of what's going on here with this room that portals historical figures to this fantasy realm. I really hope Hirano can wrap this up properly with only 3 volumes left. I'm used to mangas going on for years.

Oda has such a hard on for guns and explosives it's honestly hilarious. that crazy Japanese bastard.

While a lot of shuffling around and more recruitment goes into this volume, Toyohishia continues his sole drive to collect heads. The cast is slowly coming together. Even peaking into the Ends camp is interesting, they aren't all monsters completely. Curious about the Black King, with his power set and "mortality".

Best volume yet. Series has a very slow build. Excited that a new volume is due this year.
