I enjoy this series, and this was a fun volume.

Akiza was a *Duel Princess*, and is taking part in a battle now that is a copy of one she was in 5000 years ago. Hopefully, this one ends with a different outcome. In the one 5000 years ago, she was tricked into losing, which caused the end of the people in that place. She has no intentions of letting that happen this time around.

I will definitely be continuing to read this series.

Rex Goodwin's true nature has been revealed; and the race is on to stop his plot to resurrect the "ultimate god" of evil. 5D's leans fully into its mythology this volume. As the ancient history plays into modern day plots; while Yusei and co. do whatever is necessary to prevail. The volume starts off with a duel between Akiza and sect, with the revelation of her past life as a duel priestess playing into things. During these chapters we also learn who the Skeleton Knight is, and it is a satisfying connection.

The other duels we see this collection are Crow vs Lazan; who uses an anti-Synchro deck which leads to some fun shenanigans. We also get to enjoy King Jack Atlas facing off against his adoptive father Rex Goodwin. Who employs startlingly effective strategies to shut Jack down. Sato is at the top of his art game in this volume, giving us some truly beautiful pages. If you have been enjoying 5D's so far, you won't want to miss out on this volume.

Pretty good so far but I am little upset that again Akiza is just there to lose as aside from a great start, Akiza is not treated that well. But I do like that they go into more depth about why Lazar is so dedicated to Goodwin as in the anime they never explored Lazar that much.
