Ares, Zeus, and the other Olympians encounter a huge snake and a sharp challenge in this Heroes in Training adventure.
After overcoming many challenges, Zeus and his fellow Olympians arrive at the temple at Delphi—only to find a giant snake guarding the entrance! Beyond the python, Pythia appears. Trapped in the temple by the python’s magic and mere presence, Pythia urges the Olympians not to worry about her, for they are urgently needed on another quest.
The Olympians are now out to find the Spear of Fear. A group of Amazonian women currently have it, but it really belongs to Ares, the God of War. Ares is thrilled to know the next quest is about him—but soon realizes that when it comes to the powerful spear, he has a LOT to learn...
NY Times bestselling children's book author: GODDESS GIRLS series + HEROES IN TRAINING series (w Suzanne Williams); THIS LITTLE TRAILBLAZER a Girl Power Primer; ZERO THE HERO; I AM THE SHARK. Lucky to be doing what I love!
This book was good because I have an interest in the Greek mythology. Even though they aren't real, there are some good stories about the Greek gods. This one isn't what actually happened in Greek mythology, but it has a really good story.

Cute book with gods and goddesses as children. Action as the kids are outrunning Cronos's army, true to the real myths (they are put into a large jar and it's rolled down the hill). Comedic and light hearted, fun for 2-3rd graders.
My 7-year old read this to me. Heroes in Training is a fun series for early readers, either for reading aloud or independent reading. My son really digs it.
