Povodne to mala byt iba poviedka, nakoniec z toho autorka spravila novelu. Ja by som si to vedela predstavit ako roman.

Brennan does short stories as well as she does full length novels. 36 Hours tells the story of Angel, a young woman on the run from a Mexican gang. The only person helping her is her long-absent father, Jake. The action is fierce and fast paced. However, what truly makes this book shine is the development of the relationship between Jake and Angel. Somehow, through all the running and jumping and staying alive, Brennan managed to forge a bond between these two people and allow them to begin to trust. I believe we’ve only scratched the surface with these characters and I hope we see them again sometime.

A nice, quick teaser. A decent beginning with some solid characters. Would be interesting to see what they are up to 18-24 months later.

What a great story. It’s a short story and its not a romance but excellent writing and characters. The main characters are a 15 year old and her father who has been absent her whole life but now thrust together when she is running for her life from a gang that wants her dead.

Angel Saldana grew up with only an alcoholic mother who really wasn’t much of a mother. Angel grew up in the gang infested streets of LA and is a tough and smart as any grown up. After witnessing murders by a gang leader she goes to the police and is set to testify but when an attempt to kill her result in the cops transporting her getting shot she goes on the run for her life.

Jake Morrison was just 19 when he got Angel’s mom pregnant and didn’t even now about her until she was 5 but he was still in now condition to take care of a kid and was still enlisted. He became a cop after getting out but ended up serving time when he severely beat a fellow dirty cop. Now he’s a bounty hunter. When he finds out Angel is in trouble he doesn’t hesitate to find her.

Angel was a hoot to read. She has the best lines in the book and the banter between her and Jake was laugh out loud plenty of times even during very serious situations. The only bad thing about the book was the length, I wanted more. I would love to read more about these two sometime.

The only thing I ever find wrong with an Allison Brennan book - and this applies to all of them - is that they don't go on forever as I would like them to. Understandable, I realize Ms. Brennan has other things to do than keep writing 24/7 for my benefit. The problem is that I enjoy her characters so much - she really has the art of character development down to a tee - that I want to read more and more with them and about them. 36 Hours is a novella about a father and daughter meeting each other for the first time amidst a crisis. The story is suspenseful, emotional and a really good read. I would love to see these characters again in a full-length book. This story was worth every penny. This was my 25th Allison Brennan book, not counting the Lucy Kincaid novellas ( I think that would make it 28). Each book only makes me more grateful that I finally discovered this amazing author.

As always she did not disappoint in this book. I love her writing because even if her books are stand alone they bring us back with some of her regulars. I hope she will revisit Angel and Jake. This is a love story in the finest stage of love. A father coming to help is her daughter and her finding in her dark world the truth of where her morals come from.

At first I was unsure about this as suspense books aren't my normal reading material however when I got into this easy book I couldn't put it down and read it within a few hours. Its only about 150 pages and I'm usually a slow reader. I couldn't put it down. Looking forward to reading the next book on my list.

I want more

Elements of Reacher and Bosch and something new. I loved the father daughter aspect and the twist of who was corrupt in the law aspect. Their snark and views on life were abrupt and raw and at times funny. There is so much potential for more about them so I would love more stories or updates on how they “clean” everything up!

Very good novella though it felt a but rushed at the end.... Descriptive of the dangers and corruptions of gang life even when not really involved.... as well as the corruption rife in both the police and justice system.Sometimes doing the "right" thing can get you and those you love dead....

Gritty realism at its best. I loved seeing into Angel's world and the underbelly of L.A.

This was a nice first taste of Allison Brennan's works. I'm excited to read more from her if her other books include the same type of edgey characters like the ones in this book.

Brennan did it again. It's too short a story for me. I would have wanted a continuation to the father-daughter relationship.

I liked this book until the end. I wish the story would have continued by letting the reader know what happened to everyone.
