My Review:
I knew when I finished the second novella of this introductory trilogy that this was going to be a difficult and emotional book. I wasn't wrong. I don't know who my heart broke for more with these two characters...Guy or Chrissie?

Guy is so much in love with Chrissie and as the investigation into her mother's death winds down he sees her slipping further and further away. And although this alone is so freaking emotional, he has so many other issues going on. The burning hatred he feels for his father. The true mourning he's also having to go through with Chrissie's mom...she basically raised him, too. Every where he turns there's just one more thing to seemingly knock him down emotionally.

Chrissie is a bit broken and she always has been that way. When her mother was alive, she maintained the order to keep Chrissie functioning. At 8 years old that was suddenly ripped from her when her mother disappeared completely and Chrissie has never fully regained her equilibrium. Guy is the only other person who's been able to balance her, but when he's so emotionally off-kilter in this book, she definitely loses her way.

*gah* My heart simply ached for both of them. And I'll admit, that made this a book that I LOVED. I love a good angst-riddled story and this one worked for that totally. Now I'm curious how the three novellas play into the overall series. Were the novellas just to provide back-story into the town and the main characters that will make up the town? This is what I suspect, but I can't wait to see. I've already ordered the first two print copies of the full-length books because if they are half as good as these introductory novellas have been then it's going to be a winning series for me!

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Long For Me, the third and final prequel novella in Shiloh Walker’s Secrets & Shadows series, without a doubt is my favorite yet. Guy and Chrissie completely and irrevocably stole my heart and their story was an extremely emotional read for me. However, it offered much needed closure that we have all been so desperate for.

Guy and Chrissie are in love. They each offer solace, support, comfort and unconditional love to the other. Guy is able to offer Chrissie the peace that she yearns for to quiet her mind. Chrissie is able to give Guy the acceptance and understanding that he longs for. Their strong and heartfelt emotions are worn on their sleeve for everyone to see - except for them. With the shocking revelations surrounding the disappearance of Chrissie’s mother, they need each other now more than ever. However, it is difficult for Chrissie to let go of her fears, and it is difficult for Guy to let go of the guilt that he feels, even though it is misplaced. My heart ached for their struggle, their pain and their grief.

Nothing more can be said about this book without giving away too much. Just know that Long For Me is a MUST read. It is a book that will not disappoint and one that will grab your heart and not let go.

When the person you love is partially responsible for your mother's disappearance, what do you do? In this heartrending short story, Christina Bell finally receives the answer to her most painful question. What happened to her mother. The answer uncovers a dirty secret which rocks her entire family's world. And the one she loves most, Guy.

Guy is the poor male who is relegated to friend zone by the one he loves most, Christina. Their relationship is dysfunctional despite their best friend status. This story is hard to read because it makes no sense why Christina leaves Guy hanging for so long. One could say Guy is the sorry bastard who is torturing himself with unrequited love. Yet Christina does love him; she just can't seem to see him in the right light.

This story is decently written with conflict of the heart rather than contrived misunderstanding. It's interesting to see if guilt by association will turn a budding relationship into hate and disgust. Ms. Walker sets this story up nicely for the main book in the series to kick off. Recommended for those who enjoy a bit of emotional pain with their happily ever after.

My rating: 5 of 5 ⭐️

As youngest of the Bell family, Christina may have felt the disappearance of her mother deepest. Living the last fifteen years in limbo, not knowing what happened had taken a toll on her family and although her siblings had recently found ways to unglue themselves, Chris was still firmly stuck in a place where only the answers could propel her forward.

Her brother's best friend, and extra child in their household, Guy Miller, had made himself invaluable to Chris over the years. From a miserable home life himself, he found solace with the Bells and was taken in as one of their own. Their loss was his as well after the disappearance, and for Chris he had always been able to provide a source of great comfort.

But comfort is not all Guy is wanting to provide. His feelings over the years have grown way beyond anything sisterly and Chris has to recognize that the peace she finds in Guy's arms is not just because he is such a good guy. There is a strong chemistry they have both been trying to ignore and as clues to her mother's disappearance start coming to the surface, Chris seeks out Guy's company for more than just comfort.

*****

Highly emotionally charged and morally complex story, told in a beautifully sensitive way by the very talented Shiloh Walker!

This is the third in a series of three novellas, chronicling the story of the three Bell children whose mother disappeared fifteen years ago, without a trace. Initially their father was suspected having a hand in her disappearance, but no evidence of any wrongdoing was ever found.

Their lives thus far have been marked and guided by this event and the three novellas illustrate how each of the siblings find there own way out from under the yolk of that burden.

Chris, the youngest, has the added misfortune that she has a condition which was not diagnosed until later in her school years, but it did cause her a lot of frustration in her youth. A lot of misunderstood behavioral issues and all during a period when the entire family was grieving not only the loss of a mother, but unsure of what role anyone else of the family might have played in that. An extremely turbulent situation which only contributed to more emotional noise for Chris, who could only be soothed by Guy.

Even as an adult, Guy would always be available and devoted to take care of Chris, whenever needed. Where her siblings would often rub her the wrong way, or try to control her responses or reactions, Guy would simply be and settle her. But it wasn't until some of the clouds of mystery around the disappearance of her mother started lifting, that Chris was willing to see what was really happening between herself and Guy. Almost like she was holding herself back until she could find some justice for her mother.

I can't say too much about Guy without giving too much away, but suffice it to say that the suffering for him in particular is not over yet. This man has had a hard life and it has not gotten easier, but it will, hopefully. He has been strong enough for Chris for years, now perhaps she can be strong enough for him.

So emotionally intricate, but with characters so admirable and strong, despite their struggles and baggage. Some of this story as a whole made my heart ache - for time wasted, for feelings hurt, for misunderstandings, for so many things over so many years that could've and should've been avoided. It really is a heartbreaking tale. But beautifully written and incredibly sexy at that.

✨A gut-wrenching, stirring and provocative answer.....✨

In the set of prequel novellas for the Secrets and Shadows series, this is the third and final one. It brings all the secrets into the open regarding Nichole Bell's disappearance and is the story of Chris Bell, the youngest sibling and Guy Miller, the boy next door who has always loved her though she pushed him firmly into the friend category.

This third story gives the closure of Nichole Bell's death with a culprit and a memorial and allows the family to truly grieve her loss. Chris has her own way of dealing with things and they involve Guy. Her disabilities of dyslexia and ADHD and depression make focus difficult so her thoughts flit around and never land, but being around Guy is calming and stills the white noise in her head. They were together once and she pushed him away afterward and relegated him to best friend status now she needs him again and he gives that to her, but he wants her to realize that he won't be pushed away or treated like a regret.

Guy feels guilt over the way it is his evil parent that wrecked and ruined the lives of those he loves the most. Many in town don't think he has the right to grieve at the memorial for Nichole and her family should feel that way, but they don't. They accept him as they have always done. Chris even turns to him for support and care though her reminders of 'bestfriend' Guy hurt because he would love to be so much more. And he thinks he has a shot at it until the very thing he knows he can give the Bells and the thing they most need will be the wedge that will drive him away from Chris when she finds out his part. But he will do anything for her even sacrificing the chance to be with her.

As the series of novellas has progressed, I have grown a bit more restless with each new Bell sibling's romantic encounter. They all have the same hang-ups and pull the same stunts with the people who love them. They all use- yes use their love interests. I tried to see where they were coming from- grief, heartache, pain, fear of loss, etc., but in the end, it doesn't excuse holding people at arm's length emotionally while using them for sexual release and then denying with all their might that there is something there between them.
Maybe its because Chris was the last of three to do it or maybe its because Guy had it worse than anyone (verbal, emotional, and physical abuse from a parent that was so bad it put him in the hospital and then learning the scum bag was responsible for the death of the woman he looked on as a mother) and I didn't see him acting that way nor liked seeing him being used after all he went through, but I was just done with it by this point. I enjoyed the suspense side and I was engaged in the overall story, but Chris and her 'push you away until I need you' crap just made me mad.

So, I will continue with the series into the first novel-length story and a new suspense plot, but if I see the same behavior in one of the romantic leads, I'll probably quit the series. Broken people that have character flaws aren't the problem, but self-absorbed users types are not my idea of escape reading. Okay, well I can't just leave it at that. The truth is that I enjoyed meeting the next book's main characters in Tate's story so I'm looking forward to a romantic suspense with them in it.

Christina Bell remembers a time when her family was happy and whole but that was taken from her the night her mother, Nicole, disappeared and never returned. Christina always refused to believe her father had anything to do with her mother’s disappearance. Relying heavily on her best friend to help her get through the pain, she soon begins to take another look at the man who has always been at her side.

Guy Miller has always loved Christina but after a wild weekend in bed, Christina places them firmly back into the friend zone. Guy refuses to give up but when new information comes to light concerning Nicole and what happened the night she disappeared, Guy may not have a choice.

The third and final novella in Shiloh Walker’s Secrets & Shadows prequel trilogy wraps up the ongoing mystery and brings plenty of heat to the romance of the last sibling, Christina (Tink) Bell. The mother’s body is found and an autopsy shows how exactly how she died. This in turn affects Guy Miller, Tink’s best friend and the man who has l has always loved her.

Long for Me brings to the forefront all the pain, hurt, anger, and sorrow that has permeated the trilogy. Our heroine has suffered the most of all her siblings. The youngest child, she has some learning and behavioral issues that were exacerbated by her mother’s disappearance. Ingrained fear from that traumatic event keeps Christina poised on the edge, unable to move forward with her life beyond the cursory.

Guy is lovely in his all encompassing love for Christina. He has carried a torch for her for so long and even thinking she doesn’t feel the same, he continues to be her rock. His emotions flow from the pages; leaving no doubt of his feelings.

The romance extremely sexy. Christina and Guy’s chemistry smolders hot and heavy as they each struggle to deal with the changes in their lives and their relationship. It’s a strong part of the storyline and complements the evolving conflict. Intense sexual tension only adds to the overall appeal.

Out of all three novella’s this was probably my least favorite. While I’m a fan of friends to lovers trope, I’m not a fan of one party knowing how the other feels but still clings to them, refusing to acknowledge the attraction due to fear. It seems cruel to me. Deal with it or let them go. Christina wouldn’t do either. Being in her head was not comfortable. I found her selfish and needy at times.

Long for Me wraps everything up, leaving no unanswered questions concerning and I enjoyed seeing the siblings finally get the closure they deserved. This prequel trilogy offers a brief but intense preview of this small town and inhabitants. I look forward to the full length novel of this series, Deeper Than Need, which is set to release June 3, 2014.

I have really enjoyed getting to know more about the Bell siblings and Long for Me, the third novella in this series, was no different. This time we delve deeper into Chrissie and Guys relationship and learn more about the circumstances surrounding her mothers death. Each novella has been pulling more at my emotional heartstrings and I knew that Chrissie and Guys story would too, and I was becoming more invested in this family being able to move past their grief and find happiness and love.

Chrissie is the youngest in the family and was very young when her mother was taken from her and has, understandably, never been the same again. Her older siblings, Tate and Jensen have always looked out for her and tried to shield her from any further emotional pain, but when it all gets too much only one person has ever been able to understand her and soothe her pain - Guy. He has always been Chrissies rock, the calming presence in her life and, unbeknownst to her, has loved her from afar for years. She shut herself off from a relationship with Guy, believing that negated any chance of losing him. I really felt for Chrissie and all that she had to deal with. She held tightly to her emotions, putting on the strong front for her family, not wanting them to worry about her, but just holding it together by a thread. She was a tough cookie on the outside but showed such a broken and vulnerable side when she was with Guy. I was so glad she had him to lean on and I loved the dynamics of their relationship.

Guy grew up with the Bell siblings, Nichole becoming the surrogate mother that he never had at home and was always the safe place to land when his evil father was on the warpath. As his upbringing is revealed my heart really bled for him, his grief over losing the only mother figure in his life in Nichole, and also growing up with a father who was abusive, cruel and ruthless. He chose to be nothing like his father, and his determination to protect not just Chrissie, but the entire Bell family, going all out to find answers and closure, made me love him all the more.

As I have mentioned before, I loved the relationship between Chrissie and Guy, the dialogue between them, the way they supported each other and the way they loved each other. Theirs was a love story that had to overcome so much emotional heartache that stemmed from their circumstances. They loved each other passionately, the chemistry between them was intense. The question was whether Chrissie could admit her feelings and take a chance on love.

I have loved these first three novellas that have perfectly set the scene for the rest of this series and I am fully invested in seeing where this heads.

So much emotional depth…

This is the third novella in the Secrets & Shadows series and should be read in series order.

Christina Bell is the youngest of the Bell children and perhaps the one most affected by their mother’s disappearance for she was the one who needed her mother the most. She was always different and had issues in school. It was years before she was diagnosed as being dyslexic and having ADD. She’s quite a strong woman who just deals with things in the way that is best for her and she is tired of her family coddling her. As a result of losing her mother she has not strived for things in life to protect herself from such a loss again. She has always been attracted to her best friend Guy but she keeps him at friend’s length. She doesn’t admit to herself how much he really means to her. With him around she is centered and without him she has to fight to not unravel which she finds she might have to do as the truth of what happened to her mother becomes known and consequences in the present play out.

Guy Miller had a horrendous childhood and spent much of his young years at the Bell home being best friends with Chrissie’s brother and where he was always made welcome. They are the family he wished he had but he doesn’t think of Chrissie as a sister, he has been in love with her forever but she only wants to be friends. There is no one more loyal to Chrissie than Guy; he understands her needs better than her family and will always stand by her no matter how much he wants more. But when the truth of Nichole Bell’s disappearance comes to light will Chrissie still want him around? Can she handle what he needs to do for everyone’s sake? Guy is tormented by guilt from his connection to the events of the past and faced with a decision that could cost him the good graces of the woman he loves.

I think this novella is my favorite of the three, perhaps because both of them suffered so much from the one event in their differing ways and how together they completed each other. Their chemistry was palpable and everyone around them knew that there was love between these two even if it wasn’t admitted. There was so much emotional depth portrayed here as well as courage for one to do what needed to be done and for the other to face their fears. It never ceases to amaze me how Shiloh Walker manages to pack so much intensity into a novella. I’m left wanting for nothing for she hits every salient spot you could want.

In Long for Me, the author finally reveals the details about the circumstances that led to the death and disappearance of Nichole Bell 15 years earlier. Readers of Break for Me already knew who was directly responsible for Nichole’s death and I, for one, could not wait to read this novella to find out how the revelation was going to affect Guy’s relationship with Chris.

As the youngest of the Bell siblings, Christina “Tink” was deeply affected by the loss of her mother. Because she was still a child, her world depended heavily on her mother and the sudden and unexplained loss was a devastating blow, as well as what happened in the following years. As time passed, she relied more and more upon Guy, her older brother’s best friend, and he became her safe haven over the years. Guy’s love and devotion to Tink (the full extent of which she is unaware of), is what leads to his presence at her mother’s funeral service and I absolutely loved what Tink said when the whispers about him attending reached her ears. Their foundation as long-term friends coupled with their chemistry makes it easy to root for Guy to win his girl. I thought Jensen and Dean had chemistry, but Guy and Tink’s sex scenes are by far more intense (at least for me). It is because of their long-term friendship and chemistry that Chris has difficulty taking their relationship beyond “just friends” because she’s afraid of losing yet another person of importance in her life.

Yet again, Ms. Walker has crafted a story that is so fully written and involved that you forget that you’re reading a novella. Because of the way the author presents the story, you can read the novellas as stand-alone stories without feeling lost or confused. That said, I recommend reading them all for a richer experience and I intend to go back and read Burn for Me as I adore the Bell siblings and want to read Tate’s story. Does Guy get his girl? You’ll have to read Long for Me to find out.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

In Long For Me by Shiloh Walker, Christina Bell is the youngest Bell sibling whose mother went missing years ago. Now the truth about her disappearance is finally emerging and Christina's life is thrown into upheaval and uncertainty.

Guy is her best friend who she's know for years. He is the only one who can center her. He also wants Christina as much more than a friend, but she is determined not to see Guy that way. Guy also has a connection to her mother's disappearance, one that surprises all of them. With her life feeling like it is spinning out of control, Christina seeks comfort in the one man she knows can give it. Will Christina finally acknowledge her hidden feelings for Guy? Can she face them and the risk it involves?

Long For Me was a fabulous, well written, fast paced novella. Shiloh covers a lot of emotional ground in Long For Me, but with her easy flow and strong characters, the novella length is perfect for the story told. I love how Shiloh brings her characters to life and makes them relatable and love-able. She manages to incorporate very real problems in Long For Me, one in particular you don't see written about very often. Shiloh does this flawlessly and manages to make it a strong part of the character. Not the only part of the character, just one aspect of her and how she deals with it.

The relationship between Guy and Christina is realistic, and I like how comfortable they are with each other. There is a lot of chemistry simmering just below the surface every time they are together!

I highly recommend this whole series (Secrets and Shadows). This is the third novella, and I really enjoy how each sibling has their story told separately as we move closer to solving the mystery through the three novellas. I highly recommend reading all of the novella's to have the greatest understanding of not only the plot but of all the unforgettable characters.

Christina Bell was just a little girl when her mother disappeared and she's never been the same since. A bit of a rebel, honest to a fault and with a caring heart, Christina just wants to move on with her life and not be the source of town gossip.

But that all goes to hell when her mother's body is found and the truth behind her disappearance makes itself known.

With her sexy best friend now being the talk of the town, Christina must decide how to proceed. Should she support the man who's always been there for her, give in to the attraction between them or forget about him altogether?

This was such a fascinating story. I loved seeing Guy struggle to come to terms with the news that his father had something to do with Christina's mother's disappearance. My heart went out to him since he loved Chris to much and for so many years. His emotions were all over the place and enjoyed seeing him finally fighting for the one thing he always wanted--Chris.

I did have some problems with Chris though. I admired her honesty and sense of loyalty but I didn't care for the way treated Guy sometimes. I felt like she dismissed his emotions even when she was feeling the same. Yes, I wanted to shake some sense into both of them a time or three.

However, I did enjoy their story and the way Shiloh Walker went about bringing it all together. Their chemistry was hot and their connection could be easily felt. I enjoyed Chris and Guy's camaraderie and how perfect they were together.

All in all, a sweet yet intense addition to the series.

While reading BREAK FOR ME (the 2nd novella in this series) there were revelations that made me realize this third novella that were going to break my heart and right in line with my expectations the start of this novella left me teary-eyed.
But I also knew that Shiloh Walker, though she'd first break me with this novella, she'd also piece me back together.

Chris and Guy's story is a heartbreaking but beautiful one. It concludes the story arc that began in the first story and lived up to my expectations in every way possible. The suspense, if you can call it that since everything was pretty clear in the previous story, mixed perfectly with the romance and there were some really hot moments.

As much as I loved these short novellas I'm definitely ready for full length in this series now. Not in the least to satisfy my curiosity for the next suspense arc.

Memorable Scene:
- the memorial service for Nichole > one of the few times an opening chapter made me cry

Fave Quotes:
To her, crazy was sitting there with words trapped inside you and not saying them because it was impolite or because people might think you were weird.

He wasn’t about to tell her that the only woman he wanted to take care of was her, that the only woman he wanted was the woman he’d never have.

He twisted her head around, easing his hold on her hair. "Years, Chris. I’ve wanted you for years. You’re not going to make me rush this."

Long for Me is the 3rd novella about the Bell siblings. Chris (Tink) is the youngest of the Bell siblings and honestly seemed to be most effected by her mother's disappearance. Chris has a learning disability and her mom was the one who could really help her focus to study and learn. Chris has always had Guy Miller in her life. He lived down the road from them when they were kids and has always been like a part of the Bell family. I loved Guy from the moment he appeared on the page.

I really enjoyed Long for Me very much. I liked that we finally got the truth about what happened to Nichole and love how the siblings and their father finally started making up for lost time. When Guy and Chris were in the room together, the chemistry was absolutely amazing and I did love they both totally understood the other. My only issue with the entire story was Chris being so on again off again with Guy. He had always been there for her and she knew he loved her, as much as she loved him, yet she sent off so many mixed signals.

I’m super excited that Shiloh Walker will continue the Secrets & Shadows series with Deeper Than Need, which is set for release on June 3, 2014.

I read A LOT and I don't think I've ever read a book where the main character has ADHD and dyslexia. I can only imagine what a difficult time Christina Bell had growing up. Her mother was there in the beginning but after she died, Christina had to deal with the fact that no one knew how to help her quite like her mother did. It's no wonder her life has been such a struggle. Thank God for Guy, her best friend.

This short story packs such a punch! The ups and downs are extremely emotional. As the mystery has been solved, the end result is surprising. Guy knows what the Bell family wants and does some things that Chris does not approve of to get it. I feel terrible for Chris and Guy. In the end, no one's quite sure how Chris is going to take it. Will she throw away her friendship with Guy or will she finally realize what everyone else already knows?

Bravo Shiloh Walker!!! This last novella in a trio of novellas in the Secrets & Shadows series have been nothing short of brilliant. Short stories that are so complete, you almost forget how short they are. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

Tate’s best friend, Guy Miller has had a crush on the youngest Bell sibling forever it seems. Or could it be a bit more?

Christina is the wild child. The slightly spoiled princess who had a hard time in school with undiagnosed dyslexia and ADD. Now she dyes her hair rainbow colors and communes with flowers. She’s the one who creates the weekly arrangements at their mother’s grave. Each one created with love and care.

Guy’s a sheriff’s deputy and it seems at one time they might have stepped over the friend line. But it’s clear that he’s the one person she finds safe harbor in. Another good guy.

Guy’s only sin is one of birth - his father. In jail as for theft and because he beat Guy’s mother to death, Guy’s father has another role to play in this story as the mystery of the Bell’s mother continues to unravel.

I found Christina to be a compelling character and had a great deal of empathy for her, but it was Guy that I cried with. Once again, Walker has brought to life and given voice to another amazing hero.

These three novellas are the perfect introduction to this addictive series. On their own, they are true page-turners and heartbreakers too.

Long for Me may be my favorite of the three installments of the Secrets & Shadows e-novellas.

I was highly anticipating this story. Like the Bell family I also wanted answers. Although short, this story was definitely potent. Filled with emotional depth, this story was a roller coaster ride and I didn't want it to end. I loved Chris and Guy as individuals, but even more as a couple. Their story was that much more heartbreaking and real to me because of their shared past and connections. After trying to find answers for what happened to Chris' mom 15 years ago, light is finally shed on what happened the night Chris' mom disappeared.

The plot was well written and writing was smooth and flawless. This short story was gripping from the start to finish.

The only minor issue that I had with this was the abrupt ending with Chris and Guy. It didn't feel much like an ending to their story. It felt almost unfinished in a sense.

Anyways, thoroughly enjoyed reading Long for Me. Highly anticipating the full length novels in the Secrets & Shadows series now!

Long For Me is the third prequel novella in the Secrets and Shadows series. It is a well written and professionally edited romance story.

The plot is a continuation of the story told in the first two novellas, but the mystery has been solved already, so it is the aftermath that is supposed to provide the back story.

The Hero is a sheriffs deputy, a very steady character that was raised by a brutal, violent father. He has been friends with the main characters since he was a child.

Now here is why I didn't love this story: the heroine. She is supposed to be an endearing, but tortured character since she is dyslexic, has ADHD and lost her mother at a young age. Unfortunately she comes off as immature, lacking in empathy and incredibly self absorbed.

This story ends with a HFN, but I kept wishing the Hero would decide that he didn't want to continue to be used by the heroine.

Long For Me is not a stand alone novella. It isn't really a required read to understand and move on to the next book in the series.

REVIEW:
Long for Me is the final prequel novella in Shiloh Walker’s Secrets & Shadows series before book one Deeper Than Need comes out in June 2014. I really loved this story. I think Guy & Tink are my favorite couple so far. As always when I review a novella I can’t give you to much because I want you to read the book yourself. But I will say that questions get answered and lives will change again.

If you have not started this series you need to start with Burn for me. These novella’s are one overall story with each novella focusing on one of the Bell kids. I am very much looking forward to reading Deeper Than Need and seeing where Shiloh takes this series.

Long For Me is one of the most emotional books I have read by Shiloh Walker. With the connections between the different characters in this Secrets and Shadows Series, it reminded me of how the Hunters Series was so all connected. However, this one story of Guy and Christina reminds me of the Grimm’s Circle Series, so much anguish and heartbreak to overcome. The longing and wishing, the friend to soul mate were so well expressed in this story. Beautifully written, heart wrenching at times, but just beautiful. How the past, in this case parental issue, overshadow and affect the present were so brilliantly done. What a way Ms. Walker has of writing this kind of story. The story pulled me in and held me until Christine finally made her choice for the future with Guy. I thought Break For Me was great but this is even better. If I could, I would give it 6 stars.

LONG FOR ME by Shiloh Walker is a one of 3 prequels in a new series Secrets and Shadows. Book one to be published in June. I never worry about choosing this author's work. I know it's going to be worth my time. I did not read the others, but this was a complete short story that stands alone. Compelling characters and sizzling chemistry with no cliff hanger.

Christina Bell was a young girl when her Mother disappeared. The Bell family gets some closure when the body is discovered. She struggles with the painful secrets as they are revealed. Guy Miller is her best friend and his connection to the murder is tearing him apart. She seeks comfort in his arms, but he's still overcome with guilt. Buried feelings come roaring to life.

It's a fast read. I will be going back to read the first 2 shorts. Great start to a new series!

LONG FOR ME by Shiloh Walker is an exciting Romantic Suspense Novella. It is the finale prequel to Ms. Walker's Secrets & Shadows series. #3 in the "Secrets & Shadows" series, can be read as a stand alone, however, I would suggest reading in order. See," Burn For Me" and "Break For Me".
This is Christina and Guy's story. Follow, Christina Bell, and Guy Miller on a journey of danger, passion, trust, secrets, lust, did I mention lust? and closure. A wonderful, quick read! I would recommend this romantic suspense to any and all readers who enjoy a quick read. Well done! Received for an honest review.
*FYI: These novellas introduces the reader to the players and sets the stage for an upcoming print release from St. Martins Paperbacks in June, "Deeper Than Need".*

4 stars.

You know I love BFFs to more stories, and I am so glad I read this one. I really wish I had read these prequels before checking out the full-length books in the Secrets & Shadows series. This one features the youngest Bell sibling, Christina, falling for her best friend, Guy. I loved their chemistry and the way these novellas wrapped up here. Highly recommended for romantic suspense lovers!

The third prequel in the Secrets and Shadows series.

My favorite of the three??? Probably, although I love something different about each one, but in this one we get the conclusion to the disappearance of the Bell's mother so it was satisfying in that aspect. Chris and Guy probably had the hardest obstacle to overcome due to Guy's father's part in the disappearance of momma Bell, but it didn't really become an issue for them so that might have been a missed opportunity, but I still loved the 2 character's heat and interaction with each other. I'm going to have to wait a long time until the full-length novel in this series, but I will be purchasing it on the release date as soon as possible.

Shiloh Walker has done it again in just a couple of pages. I loved that even though Chris was the youngest when her mother disappeared she never forgot the moments with her mother. Everybody around her knows Guy had no part in it which to me felt really good that they still think of as a friend and nothing else. The love between them is hard to shake even with a tragedy like this. One thing about Shiloh Walker I love is that her characters carry such deep emotions inside them you fall for them so easily. Guy is a man who seems lost and vulnerable yet when it comes to Chris he is strong even when inside he’s afraid. Loved it and can’t wait for more of Shiloh Walker.

Long for me was good. After reading Break for me I wanted to know more about Guy and Chris. It was a great novella and I really enjoyed it.

After the discovery of what happened to Chris's mother, Guy didn't think she could ever forgive him. He has loved her forever and all she wants to be is friends. No matter what he will be there for her and love her, but never have her again like he did that one weekend years ago.

Chris has never had it easy. With school, with life, and finding out the truth about what happened to her mother is all that matters. The man that killed her must pay. But at what expense. Guy has been there for her no matter what. But what happens when she could lose him? will she realize she wants more from him than being friends?

The youngest sibling of the Bell children, Christina, is trying to come to terms with - not only the whereabouts of her mother who disappeared fifteen years ago, but that it´s her best friend, and closest friend, Guy´s father.
Guy´s been in love with Christina forever, but her needs come before anything, so when she just wanted to be friends? Friends it is.
Now with the burial service and his father confession, things start to unravel and her needs is changing.
Great continuation and oh, all the feels! This was a couple I wanted more from since the first novel. Loved it!
Can´t wait to start the next book in the series.

This novella centers around the youngest Bell sibling, Chris and how she is handling the discovery of her mother's body after fifteen years of wondering. Not only is Chris the youngest, but she has had the most difficulty emotionally of the three siblings. But when Guy is with her, Chris can cope. Too bad she only sees Guy as a friend, and not the way Guy would like their relationship to be. When the truth of her mother's disappearance comes out, will Guy be able to help her? Will Chris finally realize she thinks of Guy as more than a friend?
Really enjoyed this novella from Shiloh Walker and now I know I need to get back and read the first novella, Tate's story!

Long For Me was a great continuation of Walker's Secrets & Shadows Series. I am enjoying the story of the Bell siblings and their search for what happened to their mother. I liked the characters of Christina Bell and Guy Walker, and I loved them together. It was interesting to see the reactions to Guy's father's involvement in the tragedy that the Bell family suffered. I was glad that Christina and Guy were able to move past it. This was an enjoyable romantic suspense with great characters and a very interesting storyline. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC in return for an honest review.

I knew that this one would be fraught with tension as Chris and Guy were great, but it was their parents that would be the issue. At the start, I wondered if I was going to be wrong, as Chris stood up for Guy at the funeral, such a great thing to do. But as we learned the truth and the role that Guy's father played I knew there would be more. I do think that Guy took the right path with his father, but I also understood why Chris was upset. I'm glad that her family got her to see the light and she got her head out of her butt about her feelings for Guy.
