Commercial crabbing is a dangerous business. Add murder to the mix and you wind up with at least one dead body and impossibly tangled threads of fact and fiction for Logan to unravel to find the truth. The more she learns, the less she knows. No one is as they seem. Sam asks her to help defend a friend, but is he innocent? With more than one life at risk, she can’t give up.
Pulling out all the stops, Logan inches closer and closer to the truth. But can she catch the killer before her own life is ripped away? One thing’s for sure. Logan will never let them get away with murder.
A book addict from way back, I cut my teeth on fairy tales and C.S. Lewis, skipping class to hang out in the library. Later, I moved on to Tolkein and Twain. During graduate school, I only had time to read Anthropology books, so it wasn't until later I got hooked on Mysteries and Thrillers. Michael Conneally's Bosch, Sue Grafton's Kinsey Milhone, C.J. Box, J.A. Jance's Sheriff Brady, and Nevada Barr's Anna Pigeon. I don't know about you, but I burned through those books as fast as I could discover a new series. Still do!
But it wasn't until I had a serious back injury that I realized how important well-written stories were to me. I could get lost in a good book. They kept my mind off of things over which I had not control. And even though they were pure fiction, the ones with strong, female protagonists inspired me to overcome my own hurdles in life. I realized I not only enjoyed reading them, but I wanted to write books like that.
Somewhere during that time, the character of Logan McKenna began to take shape, eventually turning into my first book of the Logan series, SHATTERED. With 8 books and a novella prequel in the series so far, I am grateful readers have enjoyed getting to know Logan and friends and keep buying the books, allowing me to do what I love. I am rarely happier than when I am at my keyboard, headphones clamped on my head, listening to ocean waves crashing on rocks (my go-to white noise), allowing the story to flow out of my fingertips.
I also love to hear from readers. It may take a while due to my research and writing schedule, but I will answer!
My husband and I live in our dream forest cottage on the Oregon coast with our dog, Finn. We have six children and numerous grandchildren, grand dogs and a few grand cats. When I'm not at the computer, I'm usually out walking Finn or in the kitchen trying new recipes.
I think this book was amazing, once again we find Logan in the middle of a murder and she’s trying to figure out what happened, but then things turn. This was another book that you can read as a stand-alone like all the rest. This book was incredible it was filled with twists and turns, murder, suspense, and so much that I found it hard to put down. The story line about the crabbing industry was very fascinated. This book like the others kept my attention from beginning to end because I had to know what was going to happen. Logan has to dig for the truth and what happens is she really believes what she’s being told but then things aren’t what they seem to be, and Logan ends u on the murderers list next. This book kept me hooked and really was on the edge on my seat and I really hope to read more books in this series.
4.5 Stars Lost and Found by Valerie is the ninth thrilling book in A Logan McKenna Mystery series. As usual trouble and Logan go hand in hand in this fast-paced mysterious crime and investigation story. Valerie’s stories get better and better with each book she gifts us with and this one may be my favourite. I hope it’s not the end. I have been looking forward to this latest book and was not disappointed. Valerie has cleverly woven threads that throws Logan into something even more deadly than she has ever faced before. Lost and Found will keep you on your toes whilst Logan is caught up in a parcel of secrets, lies and deceit and unable to tell what is fact or fiction. She has her work cut out for her before time runs out. Who can she trust? Who are friends and who are foes? One thing for sure is the killer does not want the truth revealed and will do what they have to, to protect themselves. Dive in and get lost in the tale that is filled with tension, intrigue, drama, suspense, and danger that is palpable.
After reading book 8, though fully intending to go all the way back to book one to begin the series, that is what people recommend, I haven’t done that yet, I went to the next book in the series, book nine. This series focuses mainly on one person, Logan McKenna. She frequently has to lay it all on the line to solve the mysteries and the suspense is palpable. Lost and Found was an intriguing novel that I’m glad to have read and can recommend to others.
Lost and Found is the ninth book in the Logan McKenna Mystery series by Valerie Davisson. We follow Logan McKenna on another intriguing crime and investigation story with mystery, murder, danger, drama, a tangled web of truth and lies, high stakes, dramatic developments, tension, challenges, and risks. At the risk of sounding repetitive, because I say this with every new instalment, but this series really is getting better and better the further into it we go. In this instalment Logan McKenna takes us on a foray into commercial crabbing where a dead body leads to a tangled web of truth and lies. Logan is asked to help find the truth. What secrets does she uncover along the way? Will she be able to unravel the everything before the stakes get any higher? Even though this is the ninth book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. But having said that, Logan has led us on a lot of intriguing investigations over the course of the series where we discover a lot about her personality, background, family, motivations, relationships, and character. So I recommend reading the previous books to get a fuller appreciation of Logan and the other intriguing mysteries she has taken us on. The series contains: -Bella: An Appalachian Love Story (Book #0 – 0.5) -Jagged Dawn (Book #0.5) -Shattered (Book #1) -Forrest Park (Book #2) -Devil’s Claw (Book #3) -Vanishing Day (Book #4) -Safe Harbor (Book #5) -Lies That Bind (Book #6) -Whisper Creek (Book #7) -In Plain Sight (Book #8) -Lost and Found (Book #9) Wonder what Logan McKenna gets up to next? Happy Reading…
Logan is back with her regular partners in life and new cast members, as well. Will she be able to figure out who is friend and who is foe before it's too late? The new cool thing I learned a ton about in this addition to the series is crabbing! As the story starts, we are told there is a murder aboard a fishing boat. Will that prove to be the truth? As a second murder occurs, Logan and the small Oregon town she resides in are shaken, and even more so when Logan's friend Sam is accused of being the murderer! While he swears innocence, the investigation finds the path they follow lead right to him. Logan and co jump in to find the truth of the matter and hopefully help her friend.
In addition to her friend being accused of, and looking good for, the murder, one of Logan's sweet young students father goes missing. Her immigrant family is worried and in danger of what may happen to he and them.
Another outstanding offer in the world of Logan McKenna. I love that each part of the series offers new things to learn about, and in this one it's the world of crabbing. As usual, Logan is a strong and capable female lead who cares about others and always wants to help. Also as usual, her intense focus tends to lead her to a point in which she is one of the people in danger herself. Quick, great read. This can be a standalone and enjoyed easily, but it is even better when read as the series.
Lost and Found is the latest book in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series and I can't get enough! I hope it's not the last!! This WHOLE series has been amazing! Each book grips you into its pages and has you glued to them and your seat until you finish them all!! You COULD read them as standalones, but just don't! Just read them all and in order! I read the 8th one first and I couldn't wait to get into the others. So trust me! Read them ALL!! You will not regret it! Now to this wonderful book!! Logan is once again caught in the middle of an investigation of not one, but two murders. Sam's friend is accused of the second murder, but he swears that he is innocent. Evidence that incriminates him says otherwise though and he's arrested. Sam asks Logan for help. Logan once again puts herself in danger to help protect and prove innocent, the people she cares about. Things get a bit more complicated with a missing person and no one is at all as they seem!!! The more she learns ,the more confused she becomes. With a target on her back once again, she must find the real killer! Many twists and turns in this book just like the others in the series. I loved learning about the crab fishing in this book! Each book has something that is so cool to learn about. I don't' know which one is my favorite!!
I feel like every time I read a Logan McKenna Book, I swear that there is no way that Valerie Davisson could write a better book. Then there is a new release and it is better than the last one I read. This book is no exception. In this story, Logan is mixed up with an accident on a crab boat. When a local fisherman is washed overboard and feared dead - Logan is determined to find out who did it. Especially after someone she knows is accused of being involved. Logan is such a fantastic character and the people she surrounds herself with are such an addition to this book. I loved how in this book there was a sub plot that featured an illegal immigrant who finds himself in trouble. This looked at some real concerns for people who are living in our country. Sam in this book just really sweetened the story. The plot in this book moved so fast and featured so many twists and turns. Everytime I thought that it was all figured out another wrinkle would come into play. I read the last half of this book in one sitting because I just did not want to put it down - I had to know how it would end. I definitely recommend picking up this story. It is so very good and really sucks you in. If you haven’t read the others I recommend reading those as well! You won’t be disappointed!
This is the 9th book in The Logan McKenna Mystery series. Even though these books can be read as a standalone I personally recommend reading them from the beginning as we learn so much about Logan as the series progresses and it gives the reader a complete understanding of who she is, what she has gone through, and how she has become the woman she is today. This author's writing is amazing. Every story is unique and full of so many twists and turns that I'm kept guessing all the way through. I am always gripped by these stories and I can't put them down until Logan had found out the truth. This book was no different. Yet again a murder had occurred, and with so many stories and lies and so much deception it is going to take everything Logan has to be able to unravel all these lies to get to the truth. Can she figure out what's going on before its too late? With so many characters that are so well written you will be guessing who is to blame all the way through.
This author and this series just keeps going from strength to strength. If you love a good Thriller, with a strong and determined female lead then you will definately enjoy this series. I can't wait to see what else the author has in store for us.
The Crabbing Industry is cut throat and when a dead body is found, but when Sam's friend is accused can Logan and Sam untangle the mysteries, but as they get further into the story more and more things don't make sense and people aren't who they seem to be.
Logan is thrown back into to helping defend a close friend of Sam, will she be able to put her feelings that something is not quite right with the whole story behind her, although she has her doubts she decides to help but as they go through the case, things get stirred up and can Logan survive.
We are thrown back into the world of Logan for the ninth book in the series and this is a wonderfully written thriller which has you guessing until the end and although this is the ninth book you can read them as stand alone stories as the author gives you enough background to understand the relationships. I love the character of Logan she is just a jaded and determined as ever and this book is no different.
This is full of twists and throws you into the world of crabbing, I know who would have thought it was such cut throat with the wonderful characters which enhances the story and draws you in. I hope there are more books to come and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.
This is book 9 in the series and can be read as a stand alone book. This whole series is made so you can enjoy reading them in order (for deeper character development) or to read them by themselves. You won't feel like you are missing anything by reading them out of order or as a stand alone. I am reading each book in the series and I am remind them quicker and quicker with each book. The twists that each book takes is amazing and the character growth is par to none. I like reading about a string female that goes after what she wants and is shown as a protector of those she loves. This books mystery is a kidnapping. As you can expect from this author the scenes feel like they are jumping off the pages and you are watching a movie instead of reading a book. I am not normally a mystery/thriller reader but this series is really good. I found myself trying to solve the mystery with the characters and seeing if what I thought happened really happened. I am not so great at the solving of things but am loving the twists and turns that this book takes. If you have an afternoon to just get lost into a complete mystery that will have y0u second guessing yourself, this is the book for you.
Lost and Found is the ninth book in the Logan McKenna Mystery series. I enjoy this series for the coastal and nautical settings, and the great dynamics with Logan’s friends and family! Lost and Found can be read as a standalone mystery, but the developments in recurring characters and their relationships make it best enjoyed in the context of the series.
One thing I enjoy about these books is how they start with a glimpse of the murder. That means you as the reader can be starting to look for clues from the start, before Logan is even on the case! There are loads of great details to notice and you never know what might be relevant!
The focus on the crabbing industry in this book added a level of interest. Through various characters we see how the unpredictability and competitivity of the industry can impact people’s lives, which then adds to the drama and tension. It’s clearly been well-researched which made it informative as well as adding depth to the story!
This book gets five stars from me. If you’ve enjoyed books in this series already you know you’re in for a treat! I’d recommend the series to mystery fans who enjoy coastal settings,
I’m such a fan of this series and yet again I was gripped throughout with this mystery, crime thriller. I loved being back with our heroine, Logan McKenna who feels like an old friend now. This story is set on the Oregon coast where commercial crabbing is big business but also a dangerous one. Logan is asked by Sam to defend a friend who she says is innocent, but with a murderer on the loose Logan needs to find the killer. Logan finds it difficult to unravel the fact from fiction in this case in order to get to the truth. With one dead body and more than one other life at risk she’s determined to investigate, however, this then puts her in danger and in the killers sights. As usual Logan is a great main character and definitely a strong female protagonist. The descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting vividly to life, which made me feel immersed in the storyline and engaged with the characters. The plot was full of twists and turns whilst the suspense built with each chapter, keeping me hooked!
5 Stars Lost and Found (Logan McKenna Mystery Book 9) by Valerie Davisson
Lost and Found is the ninth book in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series and is a fast paced thrilling Mystery that will have you turning the pages till the end. This series just keeps getting better and better with each new book and this one may be my favorite yet. There’s just the right amount of mystery, secrets, lies, deceit to keep you guessing. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. Logan is back and this time the stakes are higher than ever . Can she catch the killer before her own life is ripped away? Is Sam’s friend innocent or is there more to him? Follow along as Logan is in a race against time to find the killer. Who can she really trust? The killer will do anything to keep the truth hidden and will do absolutely everything to protect themselves. I highly recommend diving into this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to seeing what she brings us next.
In Lost and Found the captain of a crabbing boat is washed overboard during a storm at sea. Logan is trying to decipher what is truth and what is fiction while trying to solve this possible homicide, but the more she digs the less she finds. Is it possible it was a mere accident? As with all of the other books in this series this kept me turning the pages to find out what happened next. I really enjoy this author's writing style and how she has just enough detail to describe what is going on without saying too much to muddy things up. I hope this isn't the last of this series as I have enjoyed Logan as a character very much and don't want this to be the end. With any series you want to read from book one however, I seemed to have started this series somewhere in the middle. Any one of the books can be read as a standalone but to get a better understanding of the characters and the authors writing style I suggest you read the first book where Logan McKenna came to life.
Lost and Found is the ninth book in the Logan McKenna Mystery/Thriller series and can be read as a standalone, although I do recommend reading the previous books just for character development. From birds of prey in the last book, to the crabbing industry in this one, Logan gets her hands in all sorts of things. If you think life has become normal for this strong headed woman, think again....murder seems to follow Logan and this time is no exception. When the suspect turns out to be a friend, she knows she has to help prove their innocence. But, are they innocent?? Who can shee trust? If you have read any of the previous books, you know that Logan McKenna will get the answers and she will not back down until the right person is caught. But can she do that before the killer stops her? I found alot of enjoyment reading this nine book series so far, and I do hope the Logan McKenna series continues.
You know what I’ve enjoyed most about this series is we either broach a subject that many see as taboo and or something new and this time I was introduced to the world of crabbing , it’s hard work and it seems rather dangerous …..
Dead bodies seem to be piling up ( a little exaggeration) on this little coastal town and people are on edge and rightly so and one of Logan’s friends , Sam , is a prone suspect and she’s determined to prove him innocent but even she’s having a hard time because everything seems to point to him and she’s getting opposition as far as she goes and Al is not as it seems in this little town , this time it feel like Logan may have bitten off more than she can chew 🤷♀️
Logan never disappoints she always gets what she wants and more often than not that means she’s in the line of fire , she’s a good woman with a good heart ? I’ve really enjoyed my time with her and all she gets up to ❣️📚
Lost and Found (Logan McKenna Mystery Book 9) by Valerie Davisson. I love this series and each book I read becomes my new favorite. It can be read as a standalone but of course I always think they are best read in order. Logan and Sam are back and this time its in the crabbing industry, which if very cut throat, and of course a dead body. When Sam's friend is accused of the murder they have to work very fast to clear his name. This case is baffling to Logan because the more she digs the less she finds and she becomes even more confused as to what has happened. Her gut is telling her that something is not right but she continues to try to clear Sam's friend even though she feels he may not be innocent. Will Logan and Sam figure out this case before its too late and their friend goes to jail or will Logan's instincts be correct once again. Read this fast paced, thriller to find out!
If you haven’t read anything by this author, you are definitely missing out! The Logan McKenna series is one of my favorites and this 9th installment is quite an adventure. I love that we are always catching up with Logan in each book, but the setting is always different which keeps it refreshing. As usual our main character finds herself in the middle of a mysterious situation with a possible murder involved. I thought I was drawing great conclusions as to where we were headed, but the book takes quite a few twists and turns keeping you guessing until the end. You can read this as a standalone if you prefer because the author does a great job of providing background, but I bet you’ll be reaching for the rest of the series just as well! I highly recommend picking this thrilling crime read up and getting lost in Logan’s journey.
Lost and Found is the 9th book in the Logan McKenna series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Logan always finds herself in the middle of mysterious criminal situations. She really should be an investigator, but she is a musician, teacher and tutor, as well as a business owner of a musical school. Her husband Ben, and her friend Sam overlap into most of the stories. They are good supporting characters, but there is enough detail in this story so you don't feel like you are lacking. Logan's friends are fishermen, and its their busy season. This year is a little rougher, with several deaths, missing persons, and suspected murders. Logan believes the wrong man was arrested for murder and spends her free time investigating and trying to clear his name. This was a good big, keeping me engaged 'til the very end.
There has not been a Logan McKenna book that I've disliked so far! This is book 9 of the Logan McKenna series. As I say in each of my reviews on the Logan McKenna series, this book can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading all of the books in the series! This way you'll get a more in-depth appreciation of Logan as well as her history regarding family, friends, struggles, victories and so much more. In Lost and Found, a body is discovered in regard to the commercial crabbing industry and Logan is asked to help prove a friend's innocence. Logan of course can't say no! Valerie Davisson certainly has a knack for writing and the Logan McKenna series will not disappoint! Happy reading!!!
In a town close to where Logan lives a murder rocks a small coastal town on a crabbing boat . Logans friend Sam begs her to help him clear his friends name and insists his friend is innocent. Logan, however isn't so sure that's the case as there is a lot of incriminating evidence. While she's trying to solve this murder one of her students is kidnapped. While trying to help the parents she finds they are undocumented citizens and they don't want to go to the police for fear of deportation The tangled web of two different Mysteries and Logan being caught up in a web of lies deceit and betrayal makes this book intense but absolutely worth the read. How much more death can Logan face, she's strong and won't stop for anything or anyone until the answers are unveiled
This is the 9th book in the Logan McKenna series and Valarie Davisson has delivered a great book once again! Valerie doesn’t fail to set the perfect mystery with great detail. This book can be read as a stand-alone but I highly suggest that you go back and read the previous 8 books in the series…that’s the only way to fully understand Logan and her many murder mystery adventures! In this book we find that Logan finds herself yet again in the middle of crime and violence. It seems that no matter where Logan is, mystery follows her! The more Logan tries to solve the murder mystery, the more she finds that she has a target on her back. This is a page turning must read! I promise you will be throughly entertained and won’t want to put the book down once you start! Happy reading!!
Lost and Found is Book Nine in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series. It is a crime thriller with action, suspense, mystery, intrigue, murder, danger, lies, and drama. Logan is on another adventure that takes her into the world of commercial crabbing. When a dead body turns up Logan sets out to find out what happened. As she delves into the murder she discovers a tangled web of secrets, lies and deceit that slowly turns deadly. I love the character of Logan because she is smart, feisty, determined, and courageous. When the stakes get high, she delves in deeper and does not give up. The book takes some twists and turns that make it impossible to put down. Another great book in this series that kept me reading until the end to find out what happened next.
This is a series that I have read from the first book. A series of suspense and great writing. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series to help with your enjoyment of the characters and the author’s writing skills. Logan returns in another mystery of murder and helps a friend. She is a great character that I have enjoyed throughout this series. She adds so much to the story which makes it easy to read. This is a well written story that has twists and turns that left me guessing and turning pages fast. A fast paced story that is engaging and hard to put down. This is one you don’t want to miss as well as this series. I highly recommend this book.
This book is another fantastic addition to this ongoing series. It feels like it has been quite a while since I picked up a book in this series and yet it was so easy to reconnect straight away. I always love getting back into the character of Logan. I find her so interesting and varied. Even though this is the ninth book of the series, I never quite know what to expect from her or the story. This book is full of mystery and suspense, just like the others. It is exciting to read and I found myself fully invested in what was happening. I think this author has done a brilliant job of creating a series that has lasted so well and it is one that I hope keeps going for even longer.
Lost and Found is Book 9 in the Logan McKenna Mystery series and this was very enjoyable. I loved the crime mystery suspense circling about crab fishing and the dangers it may lead.
When the dangers of crab fishing lead to a tangled line of murder once again Logan McKenna is out to find the truth. When Logan's friend, Sam, asks Logan for help to find out the truth and help a friend out with their innocence...Logan cannot say no....and nothing will stop her until she finds the truth... or will it be to late?
Definitely read and find out! I hope there will be more coming from this author and more of Logan McKenna!
This is the 9th book in the Logan McKenna mystery series. I have read every book on the series and thoroughly enjoyed them. It helps that I love the scenic Oregon coast and the view of the Pacific Ocean! This is a suspenseful mystery with a well defined female lead character. The plot gives the reader the right amount of mystery, deceitful twists and turns to keep asking what's going to happen next. Things are not what they seem in this complex novel. You don't have to go back to book one to enjoy this story but you'll want to see the events that led Logan to this small town on the Oregon coast!
Another great Logan McKenna book taking us into an action packed experience in crabbing in the coast of Oregon. Logan finds herself along with others helping friends who are being accused. How will Logan and her friends help? What will they find out about the crab fishing business? I truly enjoy this series of books. I know a main part of my enjoyment is the way the author weaves the story to make the reader form a connection with not only Logan but with her multitude of friends. The author also does a great job of world building so you can almost feel like you’re there in the moment with the characters.
This is book #9!!! It’s the last one in the series….maybe I really don’t know. What I do know is the Logan McKenna has been in some dangerous places and I feel like this one might be one of the ones that keeps you wanting to read until the end. I literally spent an afternoon reading this book. Logan McKenna reminds me of myself when I was really young and wanting to work in the police department. In this book, Captain Craig Peterson is washed away by waves during a storm. But no one is sure what really happened and how he was swept away. Can Logan help find out if his death was an accident or was it something sinister that took him away from his family.
This is the 9th book in the Logan McKenna Series and just like the previous books, I enjoyed it. The author has a nice writing style and added just enough details to keep me turning page after page and enjoying the book in its entirety. Logan is the main character and she is helping out a friend and we follow her while she tries to figure out who the murderer is. She is an awesome main character and I have enjoyed reading about her solving Mysteries through this whole series. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future! Happy Reading!
