Rate this book
Where Darkness Meets Desire

Rosalía Santos never pictured her life turning out this way. From packing up her life two years ago to now calling New York City home, Rosalía feels like all of her dreams have come true. Except for one.

Love hasn’t always come easy for her, at least that’s what she thinks, until she sets her eyes on a new beau. A freakishly tall, muscular, and very handsome brown-eyed man. But he’s a new member at the club where she works, so she can’t let those thoughts run free.

He’s off-limits.

Simply a transaction.

His identity might be hidden under a mask, but Rosalía wants to uncover all of his secrets, while maybe uncovering a few of her own. And she’s not too sure if she’s ready for that.

ARC review

This was a prequel novella to the start of a new series. It follows Rosalía who we meet in the standalone 'In Desperate Ruin.'

this was a really quick read and I truly enjoyed it. I loved that we got to see Rosita living life in New York. I know novella's are meant to be short but I need book one already. this left off on a cliffhanger and damn good one at that.

in this novella we see how Rosalía navigates working in an exclusive club. in this club no one is pressured to do anything they don't want to do and the safety of the girls is top priority. that was an important component in my opinion because whenever sex clubs are discussed it's not always in a positive light.

I also liked that we got to see Rosita dealing with an eating disorder. this is something a lot of young women deal with especially with societal pressures. women often are compared to one another or feel like they have to be a size 2 in order to be beautiful. I'm glad Rosa was described as a woman who is thicker. as someone who faces similar challenges with body image I could relate to her.

I loved that we got a glimpse of Arlo and Clementine. I missed them and I love that they're new parents.

and let me just say, Frankie 😮‍💨

Rosa’s story, while being a prequel novella, has really set the scene and brought some delicious drama/tension!

Despite the short-ness of the novella, it has some really hot spice and intriguing plot hooks that will make anyone beg for mercy when reaching that cliffhanger!!

I’m completely baffled right now. 😅

I haven’t been able to read anything for weeks. And of course Grace managed to break that streak.

This novella… I’m obsessed with everything about this new series. I cannot even describe the tension between Snakebite and Rosalía. The tension was giving 🤭

Then we get to the good (spicy) part… girl, I’m completely done for.

I need to get the rest of this series like now! (Jk Grace, I can patiently wait 🫶)

Anyways, thank you so much Grace and Truly Yours PR for the opportunity for the ARC for this lovely novella. 💜

Comes out May 28th on Kindle Unlimited and paperback!!!

GOT AND CHECK IT IMMEDIATELY 🥹

This was a reread for me but I enjoyed it just as much this time than last time if not more. I loved seeing Rosie blossom in New York City and fall into her new life. Getting more scenes with Arlo and Clementine along with their little princess Dahlia was so fun and I always love seeing them. Rosie and Clem's relationship still staying strong despite the distance I really love... NOW Snakebite hehe I don't have much to say except WOAH.... he is soooo good and I can not wait to see more of them in their next book!

WOW!! What a great start!! Now I really want the second part of this book now lol. I just really hope that the wait for the second book isn't that long. I loved reading the little parts of the characters from Desperate Ruin GOSH I miss them. I will say I kind of seen the ending coming because all the signs were there. There were multiple times where I was saying COME ON. Anyways Frankie and Rosaita were so cute together. I can't wait to see wat happens next between the two of them. I loved every minute of this book. I received this book as an arc for an honest review.

VELVET ROSE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

“ Because when you think about it, we're drawn to opening up to strangers. It's easier to spill our souls and worries to a stranger than to a loved one. There's no judgment nor expectation to find solutions.
Just two strangers finding solace in each other at the darkest hour.”

☆ ARC Review for Velvet Rose by G. Elena ☆

If you like:

Age gap
Dad's Best Friend
NY City-life
Sexy nightclubs

The prequel of the new Black Silk Club series. But for more understanding, you should read In Desperate Ruin too.

Holy fuck what did I read and how can I read this again for the first time?! Because this was something else. The feelings, the angst, the vibes. Frankie has my heart for now and I'm not gonna claim it back. This prequel follows Rosália whom we meet in the standalone In Desperate Ruin. I love that we get to see her living her new life in New York City. I loved how we got to see how she navigates her job as a waitress in an exclusive club. It's a place where all the girls are safe to explore in whichever way they want with the members of the club. The way it's a safe place makes me so happy, I love this club already.

In one word Frankie is EVERYTHING in this book, I'm foaming at the mouth. Give me more please, thank you with a cherry on top. 🥵

And that little cute glimpse we've got of Arlo, Clementine & their baby girl made my heart melt. I hope we get to see them more in the next book because I missed my pookies.. 🙈

I just know the next book is gonna be a banger! I love it already! Give it to me Mamacita 🤍

This one was a quick spicy novella!

I thought the premise was interesting and I def was entertained but I didn’t understand why a novella was published given that these characters will have their own story

Like this whole novella could’ve been written into the book.

I also thought it was kinda weird that she made comments about her dad while thinking about sex 💀💀💀

But given that this is a novella, I didn’t really have high expectations. I thought that the ending was pretty enticing and def interested for the next book

Thanks to Love Notes PR for the E-Arc in exchange for an honest review! 🤍

Wow Wow Wow .. So happy to have had the opportunity to receive an eARC copy of this book to say the least I absolutely loved it. The slow burn, the passion, and the story line was all  just ugh 🤌🏽 I can’t even put into words!
To keep this review short (because I can go on and on) this is a prequel novella to start off a new series “The Black Silk Club” and it takes place in New York City following the FMC Rosalía Santos who you get introduced to in the book “In Desperate Ruin” which is a standalone that must be read first in order to understand Rosalia’s backstory.

Rosalía moves to NYC to get out of her small town and to have new experiences. Working at an exclusive club she gets to explore and really get out of her shell building this new sense of confidence. Finding love hasn’t always been easy for Rosalía, but that all starts to change when a certain someone finds his way into this exclusive club.. he’s tall, handsome, muscular, and so mysterious. Did I mention that in this particular club everyone wears masks so their identity is hidden 😫 which makes the mystery all the more fun!

Omg, G. Elena never disappoints! This is a prequel novella to start off the new Black Silk Club series, this book follows Rosalia and an MMC that I will let you find on your own. I had a gut feeling I knew who the MMC would be and omg was I right and everything about him 😛 The tension between Rosalia and the MMC whose nickname is Snakebite is so good. This was such a quick read and a slow burn for sure but it will leave you wanting more 🌶️ I definitely can’t wait for the first book to see more of Rosalia and Snakebite!

The slow burn. I loved the real life sh*t Rosalía dealt with. And Frankie, ooof 😮‍💨 This left off on WAY too good of a cliffhanger to keep me waiting. I need the first book, Leather Bound, like NOW. ❀ For this novella, it really helps to read “In Desperate Ruin” previously so you can understand the characters and a bit about Rosalia and her background! I enjoyed getting to know more about her in this novella. I got to see her and how she’s adjusting to being in NY and away from her family.

What to expect:
✿ Novella
✿ Single POV
✿ Spicy Club
✿ Age Gap
✿ Club Employee x Club Member
✿ Latinx Romance
✿ Set in New York City
✿ Mental Health Rep
✿ Spanish Dialogue

❀ It had a little bit of spice, there’s an age gap of 16 years (he’s older), and it’s a prequel to book one!

❀ The tension between snakebite and Rosemary 😏 I don’t want to give anything away but I was wanting moreee I felt teased!! lol

❀ The ending!! Omggg I cannot wait for book one!! (Honestly the whole series)

❀ Overall it was so good!! I appreciated the pages explaining the bracelets and the charms! Loved the playlist, I listened to it after reading 🤍

Quotes:
🪽 “You’re absolutely captivating. Mi mente no puede comprenderlo.”

🪽 “My stomach flutters with the reminder of what happened.  How I wanted more to happen, but then he had to leave.”

Velvet Rose by G. Elena is the novella of the Black Silk Club. This novella was sooo goood.
This story does conatin a trigger warning for anyone that is going to read it, so please be sure to check those out before deciding if you want to read.

I really loved the tension that could be felt through the story that I was blushing and smacking my leg because of how much I was squealing in delight.

I really loved how everything involved in the novel had consent written all over it. It made me love it even more.

The character’s dynamics with the main lead were all so beautiful that there were friendships I wish I had as well.

Rosalias charcater is one that I admire and wish I had her charisma. I also loved how she is shown to have a very strong mindset where she is able to overcome issues of her own even if she does need a helping hand at times.

Frankies character was so well written that I felt flutters in my stomach. He was soooo perfect that any action he took towards Rosalia I was blushing and covering my face to hide my flushness. He needs to be real for my own sanity.

Rosalia and Frankies dynamic didnt feel forced and flowed very smooth that you cant help but fall in love with them both.

I needddd the full first book now. I typically dont like cliff hangers but I’ll let this one slide because of how good the story was.

Rosalia and Frankie's story is interesting. They spend almost all of the story flirting with each other during their daily life and once night falls at the Black Silk Club. The Black Silk Club requires both patrons and staff to wear masks while they are in the main room so they don't know they are flirting with each other.

While Rosalia is developing feelings for Frankie and his sex club persona Snakebite. She's also struggling to come to terms Frankie being her father's best friend. Normally I'm not one for age gaps but I thought that Velvet Rose did a good job portraying the age gap between Rosalia and Frankie. Normally with an age gap you see the dynamic of the younger person being pure and I kind of find that off putting. That is never a factor in Velvet Rose.

The Velvet Rose does end on a bit of a cliffhanger with everything kind of upended. The series will continue showing what happens between Rosalia and Freddie.

Anyways, thank you so much G. Elena and Truly Yours PR for the opportunity for the ARC for this lovely novella.

I highly recommend "Velvet Rose" as an enjoyable read for fans of romance with a decent amount of spice. However, I advise other readers to check the trigger warnings before diving in. The author's descriptive writing style vividly brings the setting to life, and I found myself deeply engrossed in the relationships of the female main character, not just the romantic ones. The friendship between Rosalia and Luisa was particularly captivating, and I eagerly anticipate seeing more of it in the future installments of the series.

Although I found the book to be a solid read, I did notice that the pacing was a bit slow in some parts and some aspects of the plot were quite predictable. Nevertheless, I believe this may be attributed to the fact that this book serves as a prequel.

In summary, "Velvet Rose" is a solid choice for those who appreciate romance with a touch of spice. The abrupt ending left me yearning for more, and I would rate it a solid 3.5 out of 5.

Rating - 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5
Spice- 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

🌶️ BDSM Club
🌶️ Explicit scenes

When I started this one, i finished it in an instance. I was woahh Frankie is something, he is hot, out of league but yet I was going feral over the tension between him and our FMC , Rosalia. ❤️❤️
Ahenn that Snakebite.... That was like cherry on the top 💜💜

It was a slow burn and full of sexual tension. I really like how the character of River was written, it was bold, strong, independent and caring.

This novella is a prequel of Black silk club. At the start you have to enroll in Black silk club and OMG, the flower description had me in the beginning. (FOR THAT YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK 📖 📖 📖)

The ending was shocking 😱😱, I was like now whattttt tell me.. what you'll do...  (Somehow I was expecting that it would be him)

If the prequel is this amazing, I can't wait to read the Novel.. ❤️❤️

The fact that this is just a prequel to a whole series that Grace is releasing???? Can we take a moment to appreciate how much these characters draw you in! Reading ‘In Desperate Ruin’ before this one is A MUST in order to understand not only where this book takes place but how we get there and how the characters are! Rosalía is someone you can’t help but love, a good girl with a wild side given her job in this book - a sex club 🤯 It was not at all how I planned it to be written and the little twist that was thrown in towards the end really had me thinking Snakebite wasn’t who I initially thought he was! And then there’s Frankie, her dad’s best friend…I’ll leave it there and let you do with that what you will!

Basically if you have a couple of hours and time to kill, this is a short novella that will desperately leaving you wanting more! Drop the next one already!!!!!

ARC Review: got a chance this weekend to dive into G. Elena's newest book, "Velvet Rose" which is the prequel to her Black Silk Club series.

After reading her previous book, In Desperate Ruin, I was pretty excited to check out Rosie's story. And safe to say- I wasn't disappointed with the route this book took.

My only issue, which resulted in me chucking the book (mentally) was it ended in a cliff hanger, so now I'M desperate to know what happens next. The waiting game is going to be the end of me. Haha!

All joking aside though, I'm really excited for this series and to see the continuation of Velvet Rose, and what new characters we also meet along the way.

This book was mysterious, spicy, and touched on topics that address mental health and self-appreciation.

We also get a beautiful Latina representation, which always is a nice treat 💕

Velvet Rose is a prequel novella. It's a quick, easy read that sets up the world and the first book to come so beautifully.

It's a fast-paced, slow burn full of tension and chemistry.. I had a feeling exactly which direction it was going and what was going to happen, but that ending still had me screaming.

I loved that it shows the industry in such a good light and that it talks about the protection of the girls that work there and that it's all about consent.

I also love how mental health and eating disorders are handled. I need to follow more of Roselia's journey. My heart was hurting for her.

I really enjoyed this novella and was left wanting more! I can already tell this series is going to be great. Can't wait for the first novel

Frankie & Rosalia

“I want you to look at that mirror above. Don’t you dare take your eyes off it. I want you to watch yourself come undone as I eat you out. Got it?”

G. Elena you did it again with another spicy novella I’m unwell with that ending.
From reading Desperate Ruin this was so unexpected with Frankie I was already wishing for his story and you brought it. I was shocked that Rosalia was having feelings but with the way he is it’s very understandable. Highly recommend this novella.
