I never questioned my decision to marry Faith the day she turned eighteen.
She needed to get out of her situation at home and, at nineteen, I already knew everything about everything, so in my mind it made perfect sense. We’d been pals for years.
I loved her.
She had no idea.
But she was desperate for somebody to rescue her, and a marriage of convenience with me was a better—safer—choice than anything else she could find.
Since I lived away at college, no one even had to know. It worked great until the end of the semester.
And then she walked out.
And I let her.
I occasionally do some digging, just to check that she’s okay. And every now and then I think about the divorce papers I drew up but never sent.
Now she’s here. Literally on my doorstep. Begging me, once again, for help.
USA Today bestselling author Elizabeth Maddrey is a semi-reformed computer geek and homeschooling mother of two who lives in the suburbs of Washington D.C. When she isn’t writing, Elizabeth is a voracious consumer of books. She loves to write about Christians who struggle through their lives, dealing with sin and receiving God’s grace on their way to their own romantic happily ever after.
I've read almost all of Elizabeth Maddrey's books. I know that when I read them, I'm going to get a book that feels me with warm fuzzies and delivers some kind of Christian content that makes me think. The Billionaire's Wife exceeded my expectations. I keep thinking about it and want to reread it again. That's a 5-star book in my opinion.
This is the latest book in Elizabeth Maddrey’s Billionaire series. All the stories of these six guys have been entertaining. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never met a “billionaire” at least, that I know. It seems from the media that billionaires are flashy and entitled as if the world belongs to them. However, the author has portrayed these guys as honest, and sincere, and they genuinely don't want to flaunt their money around. They’re just six guys who happened to be in the right place at the right time. Each book is delightful and holds so many things to think about. These books all have a wonderful lesson we all can learn. The author covers things relatable to all of us even though these guys are billionaires. Money doesn’t have to be the main thing or make a person lay around eating bonbons all day long. In these stories, the author shows the human side of the characters and all their struggles. This book starts with a surprise that the guys never saw coming. Can they help support Tristan through all the crazy secrets and help him and Faith find God’s hand in it all? Will past mistakes keep them apart? Will Tristan and Faith be able to put their trust in God to protect them and to find peace and love in the end? Elizabeth Maddrey is a gifted and skilled author, and her books always make me smile. She brings in spiritual lessons gently and naturally. Not in a pushy or fake way. If you enjoy romance and fun books then you'll like this story. I highly recommend you pick it up. I was given this book by the publisher which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
One of Maddrey's 'rawest' novels since her original two series, "Grant Us Grace" and "Remnants." I say this because those books dealt fairly opening with some 'hot topics' in the Christian world - divorce, abortion, faithful living. Not that her intervening books avoid such real world issues, but generally the emphasis in many of her book series (at least the ones I've read and enjoyed) is on relationships, romance, and adulting. All well done Christian romance novels, imo.
"The Billionaire's Wife," however, adds a bit of romantic suspense and reveals a relational secret that carries a lot of emotional weight, reminding me of, again, the author's early novels. This last book in the "Billionaire Next Door" series is a nice departure from the previous five, although Book 5, "The Billionaire's Teacher" (my fave in this particular series) had some suspense elements that worked really well with the storyline. Same with the plotline in Book 6, though the resolution of the 'thriller' subplot might have wrapped up a bit too conveniently for me. Still, nice change of pace!
If you are looking for clean romance books, Christian-oriented, that deal with real life, pick up any of Maddrey's series. She has two Billionaire series, but if that's not your thing, a good one to start with (with a western feel) would be the Hope Ranch series.
LOVED Tristan and Faith's story!!! Tristan and Faith were married 14 years ago. Six months after they were married, Faith left, and Tristan didn't see again until she showed up at his condo needing help. Tristan still loves her, though he doesn't know anything about why she left him or why she's back. When she explains, Tristan has to help her, until she leaves again. When she comes back again, someone else has now placed a condition on her, and that is that if she wants to stay alive, she has to stay married to Tristan. Tristan is hoping she'll decide on her own that she loves him and wants to stay with him. After all, when she had a chance to sign divorce papers, she didn't sign. Faith knows she's not good enough for Tristan, doesn't believe he really loves her, and doesn't want to ruin his life. Yet, she finally realizes she loves him. He's the only person she really trusts. When she finally realizes that she can trust Tristan, and that she can trust God, too, she finally realizes she can have the life with Tristan that she truly wants. I LOVE this series!! What a great ending to the series, though I do wish there would be more!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
I'm not always a fan of billionaire romances, but I'm definitely a fan of Elizabeth Maddrey's Billionaire Next Door series. The billionaires are all wonderful Christian men who haven't let the fact they're accidental billionaires change them.
Tristan is the only one of the billionaires who is still single - or so they all think. The truth is, he married Faith, his high school crush, 14 years ago, and she left him not long after. Now she's back because he's a lawyer and she needs legal assistance—she's somehow managed to get involved in a cartel ...
I loved Tristan's honesty over his feelings for Faith—past and present—even when he shocked her. I loved the fact that Tristan loved her with actions, never mentioning the sins of her past. I loved the fact Faith didn't know Tristan was now a billionaire. I loved the way Tristan's friends immediately embraced Faith. I loved the banter between the friends. I loved the Christian element
It was also great to catch up with all the previous couples in the series. I'm kind of sad Tristan has now found his forever love because that means it's the end of a series I'd like to see keep going. But I guess I can re-read :)
When his friend Faith needed to escape a terrible home situation, marrying her as soon as she turned 18 seemed a no-brainer to Tristan - he loved her and this was a way he could help, even if she didn't love him. But when she disappeared only six months later, he was left disappointed and alone, but unable to bring himself to divorce her. Now, 14 years later, she's back and looking for help to escape a new problem. He can't turn her down, but maybe once things settle down, it's finally time to acknowledge the situation and sign those divorce papers he prepared. Because she's made it clear she'll never love him - right?
I've been waiting for Tristan's story for ages, but I'd have to say, when I finally started it, it was very hard to see how these two could ever get the happily ever after I so much wanted for them. So much pain, so much baggage, so much left unsaid. Fortunately, the author worked miracles with them, and did it in a completely believable way. It's not an easy road for Tristan and Faith, but it's a most enjoyable one to watch, and I particularly appreciated the way the friend group supported each of them. The thread of suspense also kept things interesting without being too intense. In fact, all in all, it's a great book and a lovely conclusion (I assume? sadly...) to the series, though it can easily be read as a standalone story. Recommended.
Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.
The Billionaire Next Door series is not about the money, but more about common problems in a messy world. While I am usually not fond of first person narratives or billionaire romances, Elizabeth Maddrey had me hooked with the opening book The Billionaire's Nanny. The format with alternating perspectives works (Faith and Tristan) - giving the reader insight in each characters perspective. The Billionaire's Wife is a second chance at love Christian romance with relatable characters, twist and turn plot, and a believable conclusion. The Billionaire's Wife is a stand alone and ties the Billionaire Next Door series together with fun references to Star Trek, Books, the MOB, and Peacock Hill. After a recent trip to Florida and living in a SW Michigan resort town, I identified with AVOIDING Tourists. In LOVE - Resistance is FUTAL (Star Trek reference by Jenna).
Of the six friends who become billionaires, Tristan still is single. At least, that's what his friends believe. Actually, Tristan had gotten married 14 years ago, but his wife Faith up and disappeared 6 months into their marriage. Now 14 years later, Faith reappears seeking Tristan's help because she's in trouble. Tristan doesn't bring up the sins of Faith's past but helps her and offers legal advice. His friends, especially the ladies, accept her into their group. Faith came from a broken background and runs when trouble rises. They have to sort out through their baggage after having not seen each other in 14 years. I enjoyed the faith elements in the story and would most likely read this series again.
This is the final book in a wonderful series by Maddrey with each story following the lives of 1 of six friends who participated in a stock market scheme that left them each billionaires.
In this story, the usually quiet and private Tristan reveals that he has a big secret - he was married years ago and his wife has suddenly reentered his life.
Tristan and Faith try to reconnect and heal past hurts while also dealing with the ramifications of Faith’s past mistakes.
The story is a sweet second chance romance with lawyers, a drug cartel, an FBI agent, and a fun and witty group of friends. It contains strong faith elements and a story of redemption and forgiveness.
'The Billionaire's Wife' was intriguing. The plot was filled with a reunion, cartel trouble, divorce papers, spirituality, suspense, tension, the FBI, an important meeting, a jaunt to Paris, an understanding of a reprieve, oh no...more FBI problems, a car accident, a much-needed apology, reconciliation, and love. Moreover, Tristan and Faith, the protagonists, tried their best to reach their HEA. Also, I liked the author's vivid descriptions which created a compassionate tone. Overall, I liked the serious narrative. I received a copy for free and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
The Billionaire's Wife is a Christian, heartwarming, second chance, romance with some suspense. This well written book had me on the edge of my chair wondering how, and if, Faith would get away from her problems. Finally we know why Tristan was the most aloof of all these wonderful, generous billionaires. May questions are answered; updates on previous couples are provided and Ms. Maddrey has written a great page turner. I hate to say goodbye to these couples! I love Tristan and Faith’s story.
This book was eagerly awaited, and it sure didn't disappoint! I have loved every book in this series, and I'm kinda sad that it's done. I loved that Tristan waited faithfully for Faith, never knowing when or if she'd ever return. I loved how he cared for and protected her when she did land up on his doorstep. I loved Tristan's group of friends and their wives and all their fabulous banter. Such a great book. Highly recommended.
Great ending to a fun series of billionaire best friends and the women they love. Tristan was always the serious lawyer, a bit distant at times. Now we know why, he kept his marriage a secret for years. Now Faith is back, with lots of trouble following her. The thoughtful, intelligent lawyer is just what she needs. But does she deserve his help? Ms. Maddrey weaves the story through tension, drama and love. Thanks for creating these faithful couples. I enjoyed the ride.
Master Storytelller, Elizabeth Maddrey enthralled me, in her Christian Romance, "The Billionaire's Wife (Billionaire Next Door Book 6)"! You'll understand this Novel Best, by Reading the Series📚, in Chronological Order.
This 📗 has Danger, the FBI, Anger, Forgiveness, new Friendships, a Reconciliation, Salvation, and a Lifetime 💞! I Highly Recommend You 📖 this Awesome, Engrossing, Poignant Story! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tristan and Faith met as kids, married young, and separated after just a few months. She seeks him out when she needs help.
Wow, what a great story. We get a bit of drama within the romance relationship, drama among the friends, the drama that caused Faith to seek Tristan's help, and a strong dose of Bible-based wisdom gently administered by various friends.
Wow. This clean romance brought on both tears and laughter, and sent a shiver down my spine at times. The fact that he had remained loyal so many years, and that when she found herself in trouble he was her safe place. It was a refreshingly good book, and I find myself wanting to reread it again already. I highly recommend this clean Christian romance book.
Tristan has been a bit of an unknown up until now. Obviously, he kept secrets close to the vest, like the fact that he was married. As the last un-attached billionaire, his story brings us to the end of the series. I hate to see it end - but definitely look forward to Ms. Maddrey's next book/series.
Loved the various twists and turns the story took.
Tristan and Faith’s story is wonderful! Tristan married Faith when they were much younger but she left him with only a note fourteen years earlier. It was a marriage of convenience for her. Now she has returned because she needs his help. The mafia is after her. Will Tristan be able to keep her safe?
Good series but a lot of missed opportunities to address hard situations from a Biblical world view vs only alluding to them. Disappointingly the author repeatedly glorified Halloween. Maturing in writing led by the Holy Spirit will help this author immensely and I look forward to seeing the fruit of that.
Wow, I have loved this series and each book brings in such different aspects and we learn more about the friends with each story. Tristan and Faith’s story was full of challenges and also deep love. I loved getting to know their characters more, and seeing God’s redemption of their relationship and faith in each other.
Not my favorite of the series, but still a nice book. The plot was just not my favorite. The author does a nice job with it. It just was a bit less impressive than the earlier books in the series.
Another winner from Elizabeth Maddrey. Read it in one sitting. Just sad that's the end of the series! Fun Easter eggs from previous series! Look forward to seeing what's next.
A great story artfully written. It kept moving forward, with no slow, boring sections. A story of one man's persistence and willingness to be patient. He knew who he wanted and why. With faith & leaning on truth, he became happy.
This has been a great series and I’ve been looking forward to Tristan‘s story. It’s been evident from early on in the series that he had a secret and that it was a pretty big one. And wow was it!
This one has a bit of a marriage of convenience feel but the marriage of convenience happened a while ago and has been a secret marriage for a long time.
There’s also a bit of danger and intrigue in this one. Nothing over the top but enough to elevate blood pressure a little bit. 😉
Awww! I loved Tristan and Faith's story! Loved to see Tristan's story and catch up with other characters. I'm looking to read more of Ms Elizabeth's books!
This is the final book in Elizabeth Maddrey’s latest Billionaire series, and she’s done an excellent job on it. It starts out with a bang and is nicely paced with the various plot twists that keep things interesting. The characters are great, and there’s good closure on several of the couples from earlier books.
I stayed up way too late finishing the book! It does help if you read the series in order so that you know who the various characters are and why they react as they do in this one. I’m sad to see the series come to an end, but since Maddrey brought in characters from past series into this book for cameo appearances, hopefully the new friends from this book will show up in future series as well!
