When Maya looses her job for standing up for herself, she's scrambling to find a job to pay the bills. When her best friend gets her a job interview with her billionaire father, she's determined to make it work.

Meeting her boss, Hunter, is not what she was expecting. Maya and Hunter are instantly attracted to each other and as they work closely together, they develop a genuine friendship.

I liked how their attraction is instant but their relationship develops over time and it's not 100% sexual either. They both are smart, independent and ambitious and those common traits allow their attraction to grow and strengthen over time.

The paparazzi drama felt a little OT and overly exaggerated but the almost anti-climatic reveal of their forbidden relationship to Hunter's daughter and later, Maya's mom sort of made this one flop after all the intense highs of being publicly scrutinized. It definitely slowed the pace of the story down and felt like a drama dump on top of Hunter and Maya's already fragile bond.

At least we got some closure from Maya's mom (and later dad) accepting their unconventional relationship. Kaitlyn was another story. The best friend was understandably hurt by the lies and sneaking around so I get she needed time to process everything. She does eventually come around to accepting their relationship but it happens off page in the epilogue. That felt a little unresolved still.

I would recommend if you like the older man/younger woman trope with a good dose of family drama.

Ages : Maya is in her mid to late 20's and Hunter is in his 40's.

Heat Level: 3/5

OM/OW drama : Hunter's ex-wife tries to cause drama and is the typical catty bitter ex. There's also some drama from Hunter's daughter, Maya's bestie. She struggles to accept that her dad and her best friend are in a relationship. It's a work in progress.

Kinks : Risky sex, forbidden/taboo thrill

Triggers : Hunter is a little wishy-washy towards the end. Instead of sticking up for Maya he lets her shoulder a chunk of the public rumors and even considers paying her off before realizing that he actually loves her and wants to start a family with her.

HEA/HFN : Ends on a HEA (marriage proposal) and an epilogue one year later.

The story was easy to read and definitely filled with a lot of smut. I was fascinated by the way the author made us relate to the feelings of the characters.

Maya - The female character was portrait beautifully and the way she handled her struggles was also is well appreciated.

Hunter - The hot single dad left my throat dry. He knew what he was doing and tried his best to keep his heart against a tight shield but when Maya comes into his life the shield breaks into pieces.

The secret affair between boss and his assistant was really captivating me to read with the heroine getting knocked up by the hero. Not just a steamy romance but the emotional part between the hero and his daughter (Kaitlyn) and also Heroine and her best friend (Kaitlyn) left me in tears.

Hunter is the sexy dad of Maya's BFF Kaitlyn. Maya is a strong willed independent young lady who speaks her mind when she feels strongly about something not being right. Maya ends up losing her job and then starts working for Hunter after Kaitlyn sets it up. The two have an attraction and then act on it when they get stuck on a broken elevator. Then they can't fight it any longer despite their 20 yr age difference. They decide to keep it to themselves for awhile since it is taboo and she is his daughter's BFF. Then the drama starts and things start to fall apart at the job and then Maya becomes someone that was out of character for how she was originally portrayed and so wishy washy... I was started to lose interest, took awhile to get through the rest of the book, but I finished it.

I love this genre, but this one wasn't my favorite.

This book did not resonate with me like other books that are similar to this book situation. I felt like this book didn’t have me on the edge of my bed or is a page turn as it stated. Why that is because I didn’t get the chemistry with the characters like I normally do. Other the I felt like it was a rush relationship and the drama wasn’t something to keep you reading where you can’t put the book down. This book to me is not a book where I would want to read again. However, the writing was great and this book was easy to understand. So with that said I would not recommend this to anyone. However, if someone asked me about this book or described something like this I would recommend it. So I will say this still deserves 4 stars due to the writing so I would say if you like a plot like this go read it because you will never know if this resonates with you.

OMG this was another great book from Lacey Nash again. I loved it . It was a page turner and the suspense was intense of madness. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down. Maya was going through something at work until she got fired from an event she was doing. Hunter lose his assistant after a lot of years without any notice. Then his beautiful daughter Kaitlyn came in his office what is wrong dad. Maya and Hunter ran into each other at his office where she need a job and he need a assistant to help him with his business. And their chemistry and physical attraction was steamy hot as he was a single dad. Will this drama cause them to fall in love with each other. I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed at all.

Our heroine gets a job with her best friend's dad, which is great up until she starts to get close to our hero. And if she thought her friend would freak over this romance, wait until she finds out our heroine is pregnant.

This is a novella length billionaire romance with an office romance theme. And an age gap. And a few other things. The story is well written and easy to read. The characters are nicely done with enough detail to make the story seem familiar and comfortable. The plot proceeds at a nice pace and includes several twists and turns that keep things interesting (and steamy). Overall, this story was a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing more from this author.

Their chemistry is off the charts. Maya hits the floor running and Hunter is impressed with her. What happens when Hunter and Maya act on that chemistry? What does Kaitlyn think? What do Maya's parents think of this older man with their daughter? Great story!!

This is a well written age gap best friend dad's romance with strong characters in Maya and Hunter. The author does a great job developing their story and takes you into their lives with passion and an intense love for one another. She pulled me in and kept me glued to the pages right to the end. Loved and recommend this book.

This book was so good and will definitely have you hooked from the beginning until the end. It's best friend father ,older man younger woman and boss and assistant, secret pregnancy all in one book. Maya needs a job and her best friend dad is hiring but when attraction is to hard to fight will it hurt the ones they love? Great story .I enjoyed it.

Woah!! This was just woah!! If you’re into tension,excitement, age gap and forbidden love with allot of emotion this is the one for you. You never knew when you’re best friend helped you get a jobb it would lead to this? When you can’t fight you’re attraction anymore and it just boiled over to this steamy forbidden affair, until it’s not so secret anymore. See them struggle through it to eigther happy ever after or torn apart! This is such a page turner.

Maya sometimes her tongue runs before her,her mother always warns her to keep back because sometimes she get in trouble. that’s what happened with her last job.
Her friend Kaitlyn insisted that her father has a secretary position for her. But this time not because of her mouth because of the attraction of her fathers friend. This is a lovely story I enjoyed reading it.

Best friends, billionaire dad. I liked the trope. He was older and hired maya and they fell. There was chemistry and he actually made you swoon when he let himself feel. But they both acted like children. And it was annoying it went on way too long and he didn’t grovel enough. They got their HEA.
