Amos Carver is just enjoying some R&R when people try to murder him in his sleep.

It turns out these people might have kidnapped or killed a former squad mate of his. A man named Cliff Barrows. And Carver wants to know why. More than that, he wants to teach them a lesson.

Amos Carver is relaxing on the beach when he's attacked in his sleep. After he does a bit of research, he finds that a former squad mate Cliff Barrows has sent out an SOS for help.
Since Carver owes him his life, he follows the trail of clues to find/help Barrows. Seems Barrows is now working as a PI and has taken a job looking for a missing teen. Carver finds info on "The Farm"- a sort of cult for disenfranchised people, it gets more & more dangerous.
He meets the missing teen's friend & her mother Andi while they are being attacked by the same group - the farm. Andi doesn't seem phased by the violence but rather exhilarated- she's basically a psycho & really enjoying this. Truly this part of the book could have been removed or edited.
Amos does find Barrows and the answers to the missing teen but it's dark and disturbing.
Not a fan of this book of the series.

I swear this author lies awake at night dreaming up opening lines that hook you in so that you can't stop reading. That was the case for me with Dead and Buried. And it doesn't stop with that first page, the ride just goes faster and faster right up until the end of the book. Through all the twists and turns, I couldn't figure out how Carver was going to solve, let alone survive, this one, and would never have guessed how he got to the ending. If you like thrillers, with a terrific main character and an even better story, grab this book and find a quiet place to read it where you won't be disturbed. I guarantee you won't want to put it down!

I’m genuinely struggling with this one, to the point of wanting to quit. The characters’ actions and behavior are just too much. Carver is gross. Sleeping with two women on separate occasions in one book? If the main character were a woman, she’d be labeled vile for it. So I’m saying: keep it in your pants for once, Carver!.
And Andi? As a mother, she’s either near-terrible or outright terrible. Her choices had me seething.
Their flaws are so overwhelming, they’re ruining my enjoyment of the book...
Is book 4 better? Someone? Anybody??

Too many dark characters
Overall I liked the story. Carver, the protagonist was becoming more human in the first two books, but took a step in this one. There are two new characters in the book that are dark. I get it for the bad guy, but (spoiler alert) the other one befriends Carver. It adds zero to the story. Editing is also slipping from the first two books. I grade down for poor editing.

Excellent Series So Far
As is my wont, I usually refrain from submitting a review on a series until I’ve read the first 3 books. Having now finished “Dead and Buried”, book 3 of this series, I can safely say that this series is a winner. Corwin keeps you reading when you should be doing other stuff. Highly recommended.

Great read
I am totally hook on this series. It's action packed, no stop dollar coaster ride. The hero, Carver, is likable and scary at the same time. He gets things done is way, no matter what it takes to complete his mission. Each book I read three so far., has a female love interest. She is always a strong character too, she doesn't need a man to save her.

Action packed reading
A different twist on the anti hero-hero. The series is fast paced and entertaining which keeps the reader turning pages. I highly recommend this to action adventure readers.

And it's characters is grotesque
And involving a minor made the story difficult to enjoy. Andi including her daughter was pure child abuse. Including these two characters was not a good idea.

Gritty and real
Amos Carver is the real deal bad good guy.
Had interesting ethics that somehow balance out on the good side of bad. He puts the right back into a world of wrong and somehow helps the weaklings survive.
He really in kinda cool!!

Unbelievable
Carved is at it again! Trouble found him and it turns into a nightmare! Watch out for those who to circumvent work and.want to take the easy way!

I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the other two, it was still good but a lot of time wasted in some of the explanations of what was going on so skipped some of it. Still worth a read though, now for the next one

Fast moving!

This 3rd Carver book has similar plotting as the previous one but was still interesting enough to keep reading, though there was one character who gave it a weird vibe because of her proclivities.

Scary
Had to stop reading in a couple of places and chill for a bit. Not that graphic unless you've been there, but pretty ugly if you have.

Carver is not the typical hero. I like the way he acts, and his non-judgmental approach to people. Good action.

Another exciting book which I enjoyed. The ending was scary do to organ harvesting which could be true to life. Very believable theme.

Great character development. Carver has some serious flaws, yet is human enough to be a good guy. Interesting reading and very entertaining.

Loved this Series
