As long as I can remember, I've been hunted. People whom I allow close to me always end up dead or vanish into thin air. The spirits who stalk me need me for something and I won't find peace until I figure out just what that is. Wandering Witch is a standalone novel as part of The Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow shared universe series.
Farren and her harem were pretty cool. Farren seems wildly normal for a cursed witch (who actually knows she's a witch.) My favorite of her mates had to Roan. He was just so unexpected, the logic in it is different from (you have to read the book to get it), a first for me that's for sure, and I adored his playful personality.
The curse reminds me of something I either once saw or read, it was either a book, TV series, or a movie, it's killing me that I can't remember. I'm a book map nerd so imagine my delight that a map comes with this book. Not only that, Farren is a wanderer and I am delighted that a magical map was a very important aspect of the story. As for the plot, it was a light and easy read. I enjoyed following along getting to know more about magic and seeing Farren and her guys slowly come together and figure things out. Things got exciting at the end and Farren got the answers she's been looking for. A couple of my favorite moments were the hilarious guest appearances and the final chapter.
Wandering Witch was an enjoyable read. I love that each put their own creative spin on the curse. Besides the varying curse, also how each witch finds out about the curse, and finds her mates. I'm ready for the next one.
*Reverse Harem *Paranormal *Multi-1st-PoV *Nomad FMC *Quest *Curse *Found Family *Building Harem (3) *Standalone Interesting features This has been my favourite so far in terms of the story line, I found it engaging in that our FMC had to be continuously on the run to escape this bad thing which turns out to be her families curse! The map aspect was pretty unique with the collection of her mates. The only thing that didn’t gel for me was the smeggs scene, she goes from shrinking away from their touch and not really sure whether the new guy is friend or foe to suddenly a page later having a group scene - didn’t feel a natural progression to me. Other than that a good storyline.
Farren always wandering around due to a curse from long ago. To always run away from place to place can take a toll on one. Especially when the town or place you go to gets destroyed. Farren on her ways comes across her mates one by one. Shifters demons and a ghost makes this a interesting read with all the adventures that lead them to the place it all began. This book was just great!
Wandering Witch: The Cursed Coven Of Spells Hollow Book 5 by K Z Merlin is an interesting paranormal why-choose. Farren has spent her life on the run, cursed to be hunted by a darkness that consumes everything near her. However when she receives clues in a dream she may actually have found a way to break her family’s curse. Will she find the strength to break the curse before it's too late? I really enjoyed the characters in this book. They all have a little darkness in them and I love it. Ferren's men are a handful leading to quite a few laughs. This story has a quick pace and I read it in under a day. I loved the inclusion of a famous well known place in this story( no spoilers), making it a bit realistic. My only issue was with the story being so short it left a few things to the imagination that had me frustrated at the end. Quite a few parts of the story are vague and the ending was abrupt. It was a medium burn spice that went from 0 to 60 quite quickly no complaints there. If you enjoy reverse harems with supernaturals, magic, and mischievous mates you'll enjoy Wandering Witch. This book is a standalone based in a series with a shared world. You don't need to read the rest but I highly recommend them as they all have a fairly similar storyline if you like one you'll like them all. They are perfect for when you just want a quick read.
My heart broke for Farren, constantly needing to be on the run, and never having some place to actually call home. You can definitely feel the hopelessness she feels about the situation, and the mourning for what she’s never had, and believes she never will. Things start to change when, sounding like the start of a bad joke, a bear, a demon, and a ghost walk into her life. Even though the story to meeting these men is a little strange, Farren can’t seem to help but want to stay with them. Even when their meetings make it very unclear as to why she wants them around. She doesn’t want to subject these men to a life on the run, but isn’t going to argue when they claim to want to go wherever she is either. At least she’s not lonely anymore. But with the darkness closing in seemingly faster each day, something is going to have to give. Her men are determined to help her break her curse, but will they be able to before it closes in?
Fare is the last of her family line doomed to stay on the run if she wants to survive. If she stays anywhere for too long people around her vanish. A dream gives her a map with locations to follow to lead her to breaking the curse. Along the way she realizes how each location leads to a peace of heart before breaking her curse. Can the missing pieces help her face the dark curse? Will it be enough? I've read all the books so far in this shared world and I highly recommend you do the same. This one has been my favorite so far. I have three reasons why: 1. My favorite mystery living in North Carolina is the lost colony of Roanoke. So the fact that she gives a supernatural spin to it is perfect. 2. The map leading to her mates and breaking the curse is really intriguing. 3. I love character pop ins when it's shared world so seeing the bump in with clover is the cherry on top! If you've made it this far reading your wasting time you should spend reading this book! Enjoy!
Farren (Fare) has been on the run her whole life. She's cursed with being haunted and everyone she loves vanishes, so she cant stay in one place for long. When she has a dream telling her to go to Spells Hallow to break the curse and find her mates, she jumps on the chance to finally be rid of the curse that has plagued her for her entire existence.
There are a lot of fun quirks in this book, despite the storyline for Fare being much more somber and dark. Her mates add in some fun to the story and I loved the small crossover we get with another witch from a previous book.
Every other book in the series has been more lighthearted and fun whereas this one brings in a little more darkness with Fare's loved ones vanishing. It does cause you to take a small hit to the emotions just because you feel so sorry for what she has to go through, but thankfully the entire book is not like this.
Farren has spent her life running. Running from a darkness that is hunting her and devours everything and anything in its way. With visions and a strange map and 3 men who vow to stay by her side now may be the time to fight. Fight the curse and gain her freedom and a future she could only have ever dreamed off.
This is my favourite of the series so far. I loved the characters and the story but one of the things I liked so much about it is that it seemed quite integrated into the overall series. It does still stand alone and can be read independently but it also mentions Melisande, the ancestor from Book 1 which is when the curses came into being and Clover and her mates from a previous book are still in Spells Hollow.
I really enjoyed the epilogue and the glimpse it gives into the future of Farren, Roan, Locke and Benny and I recommend this book and the whole series to anyone who enjoys why choose, paranormal romance stories
I believe the authors of this series of standalones totally grabbed the concept of a shared world while still giving every story their own personal touch. I like the consistency in story-length and how every story leads them back to Spells Hollow, while the atmosphere of every book is completely different. Add to that the fact that every curse is original, with a different way to break it every time, and you get a series where the connections are clear but where every book has its own surprise.
“Wandering Witch” is so far the story with the most original mates and meetings between them and Farren. I do believe this story suffers a little bit from the minimal length of the book though, because the relationship development (and character development) could have used a bit more fleshing out. Still, I enjoyed the story, and the curse was definitely a great one.
Fare is the last of her line. Her family was cursed to never stay in one place for very long or the curse takes them. After another close escape and a blood moon, Fare dreams of a map that could lead to her finally defeating the curse. I've read every book in this series and enjoyed them all. I think that this one of my favorite one so far. I think Fare's mates' introduction to Clover and her mates is probably one of my favorites ever! My favorite part of this book is the meeting and interactions between Fare and Lodge. If I had to make a complaint about any of it, it would be that the introductions and interactions between her and her other two mates, particularly with Benny, felt more rushed and and not as organic. Still, I loved all four characters and can't wait until the next book in the series. I highly recommend.
Farren is constantly on the move - if she stays in one place too long, the dark curse following her, will consume everything in it's path to get to her. Her dreams intertwine with her dreams and guides her on a quest to 4 locations. In the first three, she finds the most unlikely and different men. As mysteries unlock, it becomes clear, that she can't remove the curse without their help. I'm left with still a few questions to be answered and even though I loved the Epilogue, I still hope a sequel will come at some point, cause a few questions are simply not giving me rest (not any that makes the story less enjoyable, as the 5 *s tell, I liked this book a lot. I'm just a nosy B1tch, who wants to know LOL) Yup, I enjoyed this read and recommend it to anyone who loves surprisingly different men, a quirky FMC, with more bone in her nose than even she is aware of.
This series has been a whirlwind so far. Such different characters and plots but still the same premise each time. A witch who had to break a curse that ties back to her family that once lived in Spells Hallow with the help of her mates. I’ve loved how no 2 books are the same yet each book has still been so good.
This book is not an exception. 3 very unlikely mates but who match her perfectly. The FMC has been on her own most of her life because she knows she’s always going to have to leave whatever life she creates for herself. The family curse follows wherever she is and she has to keep it from finding her and wiping out whatever town she’s in. The 3 mates she finds are all guys who have been alone for a long time, either by choice or circumstance. Who better to understand her loneliness than these guys.
Farren has been on the run all her life from a huge black cloud that if she stays too long anywhere it finds her, but in trying to get to her will destroy anything around her, whole towns or just buildings. They just disappear. Including the people near by or in the buildings. Farren has a map that seems to be showing her a way along with her dreams to break the curse. As Farren is the last in her family line she decides to stand her ground and fight back. As she starts her journey she runs in to a Shifter bear, a ghost and a demon. Can they can help her? She is not sure but she feels a connection to them. Can they help her win in in her quest and give her the dream of a home and not having to run any more. You need to read this story to see how it all works out.
✨ARC Review✨ Wandering Witch is the fifth book in The Cursed Coven of Spells Hallow series, and my favorite by far! This book follows Farren who is running from evil as her entire ancestry has done in the past. Despite being short this book was bursting with emotions and amazing relationships! In just the short time I spent reading this I already felt so many emotions for the characters. I loved seeing their relationships with each other evolve and seeing how they made each other better people. The characters were extremely lovable! The world building was also excellent! The magic was very unique and I was constantly intrigued by each new magical element that was presented. I adored this story so much and would definitely recommend this fantastic paranormal romance!
I am loving diving into all of the witchy stories in this shared universe! Each is written by a different author or two, but it is always a treat returning to Spells Hollow to see what is in store for a new FMC. Wandering Witch introduces readers to Farren. With a horrible curse put upon her family, Fare is just looking for a way out. Luckily she doesn't need to do it alone. Her mates were the perfect addition to her life at the perfect time, and I adored all of their interactions and heated moments. There was even a nod to one of the other stories in the series with her running into one of the other FMCs. Another thing I love seeing in these shared universe reads. I can't wait to dive into another tale!
Wandering Witch by KZ Merlin is part of the Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow series and was absolutely magical and will capture you right from the start!
This is the story of our wandering cursed witch, who’s always on the move being continual hunted, Farren and her marvelous men. Being the last of her line from a family that was cursed to never stay in one place for long, Fare is used to always running. Then one day, she dreams of a map that could lead to her finally defeating the curse and off she goes on a new adventure that leads her to different locations….and different men that may mean more to her then just resolving a curse.
This book has it all and is full of mystery, spicy heat, lots of hilarious banter and humor that will keep you entertained till the end.
I really enjoyed this addition to The Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow series. Farren has been on the run for as long as she can remember, the curse is actively following her and taking out entire towns if she stays in a place for too long and other than running she doesn't know how to stop it.
The author's inclusion of the lost colony of Roanoke really had me intrigued as that is a favourite mystery of mine and giving it a supernatural spin was brilliant.
I loved each meeting with her mysterious mates and enjoyed how they bonded and didn't want to leave her, even when she was worried about them having to follow her life of running. When she realises there is a way to break the curse, she's full steam ahead.
This story Farren on the run from the curse affecting her family. On the way she meets her mates, though their initial meetings were kinda crazy. Locke starts out pretty much feral but ends up as a big ole teddy bear. 😉 Roan was glad he was able to finally be seen/heard by people so he wasn’t so lonely; he’s also like a goofy child. Benny thought Fare’s mates were gonna try to send him back till he heard what their plan was about, then he helped out. We also got a glimpse of a few characters from another of the books; I know each book focuses on a different girl/curse but it would be nice to see more of them interact in some of them.
Our FMC: Farren Her Mates: Locke (hybrid bear shifter who starts out kinda feral but ends up being a… big ol teddy bear) Roan (he’s been unseen for most of his life… till he meets his mate) Benny (lower demon who needs time to get used to the other guys but does everything he can to help his mate)
Farren has been running most of her life from a curse that leaves devastation in its wake. On her journey she runs into her three mates with the help of a magical map. They battle darkness together and come out on top. This book was amazing and had so much to offer! I can’t wait to continue the series!
This book felt so different from the ones that came before it, and yet it still fit in their shared world perfectly. For me, this story is less focused on Spells Hollow and the family curses and, instead, shows us what it took for Farren to find and connect with her mates. Partners who may prove instrumental in releasing her from the evil that’s haunted her all of her days. I really enjoyed that shift in focus. I especially got a kick out of watching these three very different, very alpha males learning to work with and trust one another. I can’t wait to see where the series will take us next. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author
KZ gives us the next fantastic standalone book in the Witches of Spells Hollow shared world series! the story of Farrel and her mates, Locke, Roan and Benny, begins with her running for her life and to protect those around her from the curse that has followed her family for generations. When she receives a vision of places on the map as she runs, she investigates and finds her mates as she goes. To find out what happens as they run and eventually get to their hard won HEA, dive into this wonderfully written book with complex characters and plot twists! I loved reading this story and highly recommend the series. Don't miss out on this book!!
I really have enjoyed this series so far and completely fell sorry for Farren, as it seems like she can never catch a break.
Always on the run and no hope of finding a herself home which she truly wants.
She is happy she has men in her life but she doesn’t want them to live the life she is living on the run. Like Alpha type men they won’t hear of it and tell her they want to be in her life. They will be with her no matter what they go through. This makes her feel happy as she has some people in her life now that she’s not alone anymore. Let’s hope they can help her break the curse that she has.
The latest Spells Hollow Witch is Farren, who has been cursed by a darkness that follows her family line, destroying everything.
This book focusses less on the town and more on her journey to find her mates, who are scattered across the country. Every girl needs a Locke in her life, cuddly and protective! Roan is a surprise and Benny is a delight. Three very different men who blend wonderfully.
When we do return to the town this is the first we see any signs of any of the other witches there, and I hope we see more in future books, as I love the way it ties the timelines and characters together.
Overall, this is a fun book in a great shared universe.
Another great hit for this shared universe series. I love how each one is different, with a different author. Gives you a chance to see how each author writes.
In Wandering Witch we have Farren, and I sure did feel for her. She has been on the run, trying to escape her curse. Imagine never having a place you could call home. I felt so much for her because she felt that and it hurt reading how she felt. Thankfully fate steps in, or should I say a bear, demon and ghost. From there, there is a push and pull between them. What will happen for poor Farren? Does she beat her curses and live happily ever after? Definitely worth the read, and a great addition to this world.
Another witch with a curse that needs to be broken or she'll never live a normal life. An aura of darkness follows her everywhere she goes. Along her way, she finds three men that will change her life and help her break the curse.
I enjoyed this one so much. The fun, the banter, and the story of this curse, tho it follows the same line as the others, it brings more elements to it and I as a history buff, SO enjoyed.
We see one of our previous witches and her mates in this one. Along with mention of the others, which was super fun to read. The epilogue was everything! So many happy feelings after this one.
I really enjoyed this book that’s part of the Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow series. Farren, who stays on the move – hence the “wandering” part – since her family was cursed never to stay in place for too long. But when her dreams lead her to a map, she knows it's her way to beat the curse once and for all. On her quest, she starts meeting 3 different men who she ends up needing their help to remove the curse.
This book is a quick read, but it is so fun. I loved the interactions between Fare and her three men, Clover, Lodge and Benny. If you haven’t started the series, they are so much fun and definitely worth the read!
Imagine being chased your entire life by an ginormous black cloud, a hereditary curse of death, that has left you the only known member of your family. You've been on the run, on your own, since you were a child. Stay in one place too long, and if it doesn't destroy you it kills those around you. Now you stayed too long, and there was an "incident" at your workplace. You're on the run again, but so, so tired. You're magical map is showing where you have to go. A well-told, briefly spicy, story of finding fated mates.
Wandering Witch is another addition to the Spells Hallow series.
Farren is the main witch in this book. She is on the run from her curse but it is getting closer and closer. A dream leads her on a journey to her mates and possibly breaking the curse that haunts her family line.
Farren's mates were very unusual, and I love that. A shape shifting bear, a ghost, and a demon added something unique to this witchy tale. They will all help her in Spells Hallow as she faces her curse head-on.
Farren is escaping a curse that plagues her entire family. A black cloud of doom that destroys anything in its path and it’s getting closer and closer to Farren. When a dream pushes her towards Fates Hollow she chases her survival. While on her journey she stumbles across her mates, which are a rare collection of species. Their initial encounters are definitely memorable. This interconnected series makes me smile because while connected, they’re all different and I have loved each and every one!
