Todd McFarlane is a Canadian comic book artist, writer, toy manufacturer/designer, and media entrepreneur who is best known as the creator of the epic occult fantasy series Spawn.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, McFarlane became a comic book superstar due to his work on Marvel Comics' Spider-Man franchise. In 1992, he helped form Image Comics, pulling the occult anti-hero character Spawn from his high school portfolio and updating him for the 1990s. Spawn was one of America's most popular heroes in the 1990's and encouraged a trend in creator-owned comic book properties.

In recent years, McFarlane has illustrated comic books less often, focusing on entrepreneurial efforts, such as McFarlane Toys and Todd McFarlane Entertainment, a film and animation studio.

In September, 2006, it was announced that McFarlane will be the Art Director of the newly formed 38 Studios, formerly Green Monster Games, founded by Curt Schilling.

McFarlane used to be co-owner of National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers but sold his shares to Daryl Katz. He's also a high-profile collector of history-making baseballs.

Well, damn. I really liked it. Especially the #100 one and after that.. really nice story-telling. The only thing I was meh about was Angela but, what can you do?!

Artwork was amazing!

Already started the next volume and after 100 issues, Capullo is out, Medina is in. I hope that doesn't bring it down much, cuz I love Capello's artwork, some volumes especially I don't think I'd have completed the whole thing if it wasn't for the amazing art.

Back to this volume, Spawn goes against his own creator, yay!

Spawn VS Malebolgia.

(with some help from Angela)

Actually, if it wasn't for Angela--- oh well-- you'll read it and you'll see. Great stuff, and really liked Spawn AFTER the whole thing. And gotta say, the #101 issue was just.. I dunno, I got lost in words. They could have done it without artwork. Just words. And I'd be just fine with it. Great stuff.

The last couple of them (102-104) were nice, and interesting, especially the story about the kids who got possessed and they were like, slaying pigs wearing pig's faces as masks, kidnapping another kid and stuff. Interesting stories.

Again, I think it was really good. Gave it 4 stars just because it's been awhile since I REALLY liked a Spawn volume ever since I started the Spawn-a-thon (yeah I said it, what?).

The first 2 issues, 99 and 100 are great, finishing up the ongoing story. Angela and Spawn vs Maleboglia. Terrific stuff.

Then Angel Medina comes in on art and pretty much ruins the rest for me. I remember how terrible an artist he was when he worked at Marvel in the 90's. It's a little better here at times with better inkers. They can only help so much though. It's often terrible. His grasp of human anatomy is just awful. He tries to hide it with oft-kilter poses, but you can only hide huge misshapen heads so much. The last several issues revert to anthology stories about the worst of humanity and Spawn shows up like the Spectre to wreak vengeance often without saying a word. The thing is with Medina the art looks comical instead of moody and scary. We'll see how long this goes. I peeked ahead and he drew all of the next volume as well. Here's hoping he grows a lot as an artist very quickly.

Spawn saga somewhat reaches its conclusion with issue 100. To me it was not that epic as the built up made me think. But after that, some damn good one off stories, really good one. And a new artists too. Although I only notice it because there was a new name in credits.

Five stars for issue 100, arguably the best issue of this series yet. The rest is good too, but man, issue 100. God damn.

Last appearance of Angela in the Image universe (Spawn 100) before showing up in the Marvel universe (Age of Ultron 10) 13 years later. Now appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy (2013 series, issue 5 onward).
