A really lovely story about a pair of Dachshunds who live in the city and work for a living. Dashie's are very cute, and there are some wonderful illustrations of the Dachshund at work. Well observed pencil drawings in black, white and yellow. An ideal story for a young dog lover.

Flash the lazy dachsund realises his potential when he becomes a messenger, but almost misses the most important message of all! Filled with Don Freeman's characteristic good humour, charm and wit ('Hot Diggety Dog hospital').

Flash and sashay are two very different gods. Flash is lazy and Sashay is hard working. One day sashay decides that it is about time for flash to do his part. As the story continues Flash finds work and eventually find enjoyment and the value of hard work. This book is extremely simple in its color scheme, including only brown, yellow, and white. The pictures are simple, but capture the story well. The book has a great message. It teaches the importance of hard work and dedication. Flash is dedicated to his job and wants to do it well. In today’s world children do not know the value of hard work. Therefore, I would use this book to demonstrate the value of working hard and the benefits that come with it.

A cute story about dachshunds. The girl works hard and the boy is lazy, but one day the girl makes him stay working harder. He works for a post man. But what happens when he starts to get lazy again? A funny story. I have to block out memories of the terrible dachshund we had in order to enjoy this story.

Cute dogs. Extremely outdated gender stereotypes. Nice of the dad dog to show up and be all proud after the mom dog gives birth to his children while he naps under a tree???
