A wild ride of thriller, suspense, drama, some bizarre romance…and more.
When Amber Patterson turns up in Daphne and Jackson Parrish’s lives, everything changes.
Amber is a great villain; excellent ASPD representation.
Amber’s levels and layers of plans have layers of their own.
Daphne is annoying—until we get her POV in the first book. She is much better in book two, though some of her actions strain credulity.
Daisy Ann is nails-on-chalkboard irritating.
Jackson sucks; love his ending.
The real beef with the second book is Amber’s ending. It’s scary, towards the end, but a touch more resolution for our Resident Bad Girl would make the second novel a 5-star read as well.
(The Last Shot, a prequel novel showing Amber’s origins, is also recommended reading.)
