A royal eclipse! When Celestia has to leave for the day, Luna is charged to keep watch over waking hours. Will the guardian of the night be able to juggle a new set of responsibilities while keeping her cool? (Not to mention keeping awake!)

I graduated from the College for Creative Studies in 2004 with a BFA in illustration, my love of cartooning and comics has led me to where i am today.
I've done licensed work for DC, Marvel, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic, Fraggle Rock and more. I love being a nerd, so being able to draw nerdy things for a living is the best thing ever.
I'm married to the best guy ever. Ryan keeps me grounded.
I have a daughter, Grayson, who is my booger-y little destroyer of worlds.
I like my cats... a LOT. ...Our dog isn't too bad.
I live in a state shaped like a mitten.
The constant support of my family, pets, friends, and even complete strangers, is what drives me to succeed in art. Thank you everyone, because of you, I am what I am.
I laugh every time I read this. It's just way too cute.
I'm also slightly jealous, because I love Princess Celestia, and Luna's tale was arguably better than Celestia's, though I just love how Celestia's taking it easy at the spa while Luna takes care of the "day shift." Since you don't see much of the royal sisters in the show, this little glimpse into their day-to-day life is really awesome.
I liked this one, I thought it was funny but especially Luna. I think she has a lot of character and it definitely showed. Since she is not only the young sister but also has been cast out for 1000 moons and hasn't been out for more than maximum four years wish at the time it definitely shows her young spirit and gullible/ old-fashioned perspectives. I thought it was funny how she was so insistent and everything and no joke Kibitz is my life, also Luna's lines were SUPER FUNNY, however I don't think it was better than "Royal Problem" (Season 7 Episode 10) I know the comic came out before this episode but like . . . the conclusion that Luna has less responsibility and essentially an easier life style kind of sucked as a conclusion, I get they were trying to be funny with it but like . . . still :/
Love how this mini-series ends with the best princess. Also kinda funny that the comics did a "what if the sisters swapped jobs for a day?" plot half a decade (or so) before the show did lol.
Also, Andy Price did the art! He's got the definitive artstyle for these comics, so it's nice to see him return for this one.
Anyway, this was good (and quite funny). It seems to take place around the time of season 2, so we get to see Luna act a bit more medieval-y than usual (as well as getting a bit of insight into wtf she does when she's awake for the rest of the day lol).
Also kinda funny how Celestia sneaks off to a (secret?) spa to take a break from it all lol.
So yeah, this is the best entry in the mini-series (and I'm definitely not biased even though Luna is one of my favourite characters).

Luna, by Katie Cool features the 2 royal pony sisters, the sun and the moon, in the magical land of Equestria, in which earth ponies, unicorns, pegasus, and alicorns live. They haven’t seen each other in a thousand years since the younger sister the moon turned into Nightmare Moon and was banished to the moon. A thousand years later, the stars aimed her escape, but 6 courageous young mares had fought the evil alicorn (half unicorn and half pegasus) using the 6 elements of harmony to return their beloved (not exactly beloved) princess Luna. Luna forgot how tiring it was to rule over the night and is not familiar of the traditions of the Equestria in modern day, but soon gets use to it, so soon that she decides to make a bet with her sister princess Celestia, the sun. Since Celestia is always complaining about how exhausting it is to rule over the day, Luna bets that she can take the responsibility and her duty to rule over the night, as she stated that the night was exciting, but not as exciting as the day would be. Wise Princess Celestia decides to give her younger sister a lesson, she gives Luna her day duties and whisks off to the spa relaxing as to she has not done this in a thousand years. She also left Luna her possum and her royal advisor. Can this royal pony handle the day duties after a thousand years on the moon, much less stay awake? (No thanks to the possum and royal advisor.)
This is my second favorite of the Micro-series but I might be biased because I like Luna. It was a great way to finish off the Micro-series.
Luna decides to take on the responsibilities of the day (normally, she rules the night). For extra fun, watch the antics of her pet opossum and as a bonus, make sure to read the extremely short comic in the back about her getting the pet opossum. Also amusing is how Celestia spends her day at the spa.
Luna is by far my favorite Princess and one of my favorite ponies. In this story she trades places with her sister to run the day and it turns out how not she expected. It was interesting to see more of her personality it was a shame that they made her treat others with such little care. In the Nightmare Night episode all she cared about was what others thought, but that was not the case here. (Still love Luna)
