Wendy’s first visit to a supposedly gourmet restaurant in the sleepy little town of Fairhaven Falls did not go well - especially her interaction with the arrogant and annoyingly attractive restaurant owner - and she didn’t hesitate to tell her readers all about it. She has no intention of returning, but she never could resist a challenge.
Restaurant owner and vampire? It’s an odd combination given Damian’s very specific dietary requirements, but Midnight Manor means everything to him. He’s not about to let one snippy and surprisingly succulent food critic destroy everything he’s built, even if it means using his special gifts to convince her.
As a series of mysterious mishaps continue to plague the restaurant, Damian and Wendy are forced to work together to track down the culprit. But as the tension in the kitchen heats up, so does their attraction...
Each book in the Fairhaven Falls series can be read as a standalone romance. This sweet and steamy holiday tale is intended for mature readers.
I can always count on Honey Phillips for a solid, fun speculative romance. Not one of her best but I like this world and I thought the external conflict twist was a fun layer
Series: Fairhaven Falls #5 Rating: 2 stars - It was ok
Damian may be a vampire but his restaurant Midnight Manor means everything to him. So when one food critic’s harsh review has the potential to destroy everything he has built, Damian finds himself determined to win her over and show her how amazing the restaurant can be.
Damian was a character I was interested in knowing more about after finding out he was Nakor’s stepbrother and a vampire owning a restaurant. While I did like both Damian and Wendy, I did find their relationship very abrupt. This was a fated mates romance but it wasn’t officially confirmed until towards the end of the book, which is fine, but my main complaint was that there was no build up at all. These two met the second time (first time she was a customer) and basically just started kissing without really knowing each other, which can be fine, but I felt like we never really got to see them in the get to know you stage or it was all off page, which was another disappointment.
The plot in this outside of the romance was basically a haunted restaurant, which was an interesting premise but I felt was forgotten about at times. The ending was a bit anticlimactic with how they resolved the issue but I guess it does introduce us to new characters, who I assume will appear in future books.
Overall, this was ok and not my favorite of this series. I still enjoy this series and plan on reading the next book, but this one just didn’t work for me.
I thought it was fine. The character development seemed rushed, and when I can't connect to the characters, the Spice bores me because I'm not invested.

It was nice to see some of the other characters from the other books in this series come into this book but If you want to read the other characters books then check out this series..
I liked the romance between Damian and Wendy also I enjoyed the small town feel and the cozy vibe.. I am glad that they got a happy ending.. I can not wait to read Fiona's Grandson's book called Protected by the Orc
I enjoyed the snark and the banter between Damian and Wendy in book 6 of this funny and adorable series! I liked that Wendy had a backbone and didn't take cr@p from Damian or his staff at the restaurant. She was able to help when needed, when things didn't go well for her re-do to her food review. She was able to pinpoint what was happening to helped the chef and Damian right it. It made me so hungry to listen to this story because the couple times she was cooking or helping fix something in the kitchen it sounded delicious!
I didn't know where the overall story was going to go but I didn't see that coming (If you look at the author's other books in the series after this it is clear haha). I enjoyed that part, another creature I didn't know what real in this book world. We get the next book set up quite nicely after the ending of this one. I enjoyed the chemistry these two had and how protective he became as time went on. When she was missing the narration made his fear so palpable (and hers too when we got her POV). I loved him calling in reinforcements and cameos from some of my favorite characters come back. I liked that Damian had to have his ego come down a couple notches ahah and Wendy needed to learn to let people in again. She figured out what she wanted to do in the future and I smiled when they finally communicated and worked it all out! I think I wish we got more monster aspect to this one, but because vampires are a little different in this world than others it was not up to where I would have wanted. Definitely a personal preference, nothing against this author. I would have pushed it more like we had with the dragons and orc monster features, behaviors, life style, etc.
4/5 stars from me, can't wait to get the next one on a deal (I only got the first 6 in the big audible sale a couple weeks ago) because I am super intrigued by the last orc brother we have met before hehe.
Wendy (h), a food critic with a penchant for challenges, finds herself entangled with the brooding and attractive vampire owner of Midnight Manor, Damian (H), in the town of Fairhaven Falls, a quirky small town where monsters are not just accepted but embraced. After a disastrous first visit to Damian's restaurant, Wendy writes a scathing review, setting off a chain of events that lead her to reluctantly return to Midnight Manor, where Damian, determined to save his restaurant from a series of mysterious mishaps. He tries to employ his special vampire abilities to win her over, and when she proves immunes to his vampiric charms, Damain is determined to salvage his relationship with Wendy. As they collaborate to unravel the source of the restaurant's troubles, a sizzling tension builds up in the kitchen, mirroring the simmering attraction between Wendy and Damian. Her culinary skills become crucial as she helps grump Damian combat the challenges threatening Midnight Manor's reputation. Love the meddling fairy orc mother, Flora, and her matchmaking endeavors, as well as so many quirky characters from previous installments in the series, and the unique vibe of Fairhaven Falls. Hot and steamy mix of cozy mystery and vampire romance with a side of humor, intrigue, and an unexpected culprit set in an engaging monster-inclusive town.
We're back in Fairhaven Falls with sexy vampire Damian and the food blogger than vexes him something fierce. And by "vexes", I mean she turns him on and gets him riled up. Because vampires, amirite?!?!
On Wendy's end, she's nothing if not honest. Her first dining experience at Midnight Manor was not great and she reported it as such. Now she's back to give it a second chance and...well, soon she's in the thick of mysterious happenings after the restaurant closes, making delicious rolls when things go sideways in the kitchen, and making eyes at the sexy vampire owner.
Then there's Damian. He's dedicated to his restaurant and he has a hard time believing that the random acts of mayhem happening are the work of ghosts (as his employee insists). He's also VERY attracted to Wendy. Having her in his kitchen helping smooth over some of the mishaps soon has him going on all cylinders.
More than a few mysterious happenings, an employee with a penchant for surfer-speak, a vampire who is dedicated in all the right ways, and a lady who doesn't realize she's looking for something until she lands in the middle of it. *thumbs up*
Grumpy restaurant vampire owner Damian has a run in with food critic blogger Wendy aka Sunny, and can love be far behind? In Fairhaven Falls you know what my money is on! I enjoyed this tale of mystery, and romance with its quirky characters, and small town vibe that was another sweet and spicy monster read with lots of bite. Damian has invited Wendy back to Midnight Manor restaurant since her first undercover visit was plagued by mishaps and forced her to write up an unfavorable review. Someone or something is slowly sabotaging the restaurant’s reputation and Wendy who just happens to be a darn good chef pitches in to help Damian even as he unequivocally starts falling hard for his curvy little kitten, and goodness did Damian’s dirty talk in the bedroom have me wishing I was Wendy that first time together…HOT! Valentine for my Vampire is a wonderfully written story making it a perfect addition to the Fairhaven series and one chef’s kiss of a read!.

The two main characters in this enchanting story are Damien and Wendy or Sunny. And she lives up to her name . Except when it comes to Damien. He is used to charming everyone, except he seems to not have an affect on her. I love all of the ways he tries and tries and tries. I also love that the previous characters are seamlessly included in to story. And how Flora's mind works. I also love the way Wendy shows she can and does help. The mystery of all of the disasters is revealed slowly . Damien gets help from an unexpected source. If you want the definition of Grumpy /Sunny this is a prime example. I love his nickname for her as well. Steam to the eventual romance. I could feel Damien's frustration and Wendy's determination. Of course there is a perfect HEA. Plenty of mystery, intrigue and suspense. Another excellent addition to Fairhaven Falls.

This story was as cute as all the others written by this author, but I couldn’t give it the full five star treatment because… I’m just not into Vampires. It’s nothing to do with the story or the characters- it’s that vampires are just not my thing.
Having said that, I cheered so hard that someone addressed my biggest gripe about this mythical creature- blood is needed to make certain body parts more interesting. I’m not really sure how Damian was a vampire in the normal sense. He did drink blood - but didn’t seem to have the other vampire traits. In that sense it was a relief.
Wendy was sweet. I liked that she was a foodie. The two of them were adorable together. I really liked the connection that was revealed between Damian and Nakor. That was a treat!
I’m beyond excited about the next book in the series. And I hope we’ll see Eric, the sheriff werewolf, get a story as well.
Great continuation of the Fairhaven Falls series, this time with Vampire Damien who owns an upscale restaurant and Wendy, a food blogger who initially wrote a bad review but is back to see if the restaurant has improved. Wendy was a chef but hated all the kitchen drama she witnessed and enjoys life on the road. Damien was very intrigued the first time he met her but has completely fallen now. He is a cinnamon roll for sure- sweet inside to everyone, including his staff, but spicy where it counts. There love story is sweet and steamy. But there is a mischievous being that is compromising the restaurant, and while Wendy helps out when they are in a pinch, can Damien save her when the being turns dangerous???.

This book was a such good one! There was a big mystery in the story line and it had me going. And where it went ended up was quite... chilling. I loved Damian. He falls first and is the perfect dirty talker. Wendy, the food critic, is a ray of sunshine and so friendly, open, and creative. I love that this book centered around a restaurant and food. A vampire romance by Honey Phillips? Now that is a fun surprise!
You need to read this book because: **Boy obsessed and the Grumpy/Sunshine trope! ** Super smexy, misunderstood vampire. **The spice is quite nice and Damian is a good dirty talker. ;) **A great mystery that turned out to be surprising! Had me spooked, literally! **Lovely characters and we got to see a lot of our Fairhaven friends from previous books.
Don't miss another installment of our beloved Fairhaven Falls friends! 4 stars, 3 spice emojis!
Valentine for My Vampire takes us back to Fairhaven Falls to watch the broody vampire Damian meet his match with sunshine Wendy! This book was adorable and had just a twinge of mystery! This gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!
Flora strikes again with her weird psychic matchmaking! I love how she just inserts herself into everyone’s business and pushes along fate.
Damian is so grumpy. He’s obviously really stressed out with all the mishaps happening at his restaurant. The last thing he needed was a bad review from a blogger. When he brings her back to prove to her his restaurant is amazing, he doesn’t expect the pull to her that he has.
I like how he was reserved with his feelings and knew not to get attached in case a mate bond formed. But I LOVED how he lost control sometimes and just ravished her. Who doesn’t want to be pulled into a dark hallway to make out with a sexy vampire?!
Wendy is so sweet! I love how she goes out of her way to help everyone (including those at the inn!). She’s very selfless and always eager to step in. She’s smitten with Damian, but knows there’s a chance she can’t stay. I like how open she was with her feelings and that she takes a leap of faith in him.

I loved this book. I was really excited to read a vampire romance by Honey Phillips. Anne Rice made me fall in love with vampires when I was a teenager and I never stopped- though for several years now my obsession with aliens has sidetracked it. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Wendy and Damian. Great chemistry between them.
'His protective instincts towards her hadn’t vanished, but it was more than just that. She drew him like a moth to a flame. And I’m just as likely to get burned.'
I'm fascinated at the concept of a vampire owning a restaurant that serves food. The issues he was having was an interesting mystery.
Flora as always made me laugh out loud. And it was so nice to see a familiar face or two from other books. 5 stars.
Damian and Wendy were everything! Not quite an enemies to lovers start, but they also didn’t have the best beginning.
Wendy is our traveling food blogger and Damian owns Fairhaven Falls’ fine dining establishment… and Wendy’s first experience wasn’t a great one.
Damian gets her to come back, and what ensues is some cozy, steamy romance, and a lightly suspenseful plot.
Valentine For My Vampire hit me in all my feels with both MCs feelings of loneliness and not wanting to get to hopeful that they’ve found a partner.
The steam and spice I feel comes in earlier than the earlier books, their chemistry undeniable from the beginning. Damian has a filthy mouth that I absolutely love, but don’t expect these books to have much kink in them.
Honestly, I really was looking forward to Damian's story. But it was a letdown. For me, I just couldn't with Wendy's character. Okay, I get it, she wanted to work in a restaurant that gave her the same kind of "family" feeling she got from her grandparents' restaurant. But she thought she would get that in a fine-dining restaurant...in New York. But then she just stopped after the first and only experience of working in a restaurant. Can't exactly understand if she wanted to cook, especially since it made her 'feel closer to her grandparents'. I wish for this there was more story to it. Once Damian and Wendy start kissing the actual story seems to just decline and it's nothing but bedroom action for these two. I'm kind of interested to see who it is Jessica is willing to stick around for now.
The plot is fine but characterisation is weak. The only one we can get any real grip on is Wendy, Damien remains a mystery. He broods, scowls, and growls, he likes to read, apparently he can charm people, and we are told doesn’t turn into a bat, but as to his character we know little. He’s a vampire so how old is he, what’s his history, where is he from? As vampires don’t age. will he turn Wendy into a vampire, or will he stay young as she ages? Wouldn’t Wendy, as a normal human being, have asked about his past and discussed these things? The writing is ok but I found the language in the intimate scenes, crude and off-putting. Such a shame, however the book is easy to read so give it a whirl.
Another fine romance in Fairhaven Falls! What an interesting twist this book has! There’s an intriguing mystery in the midst of this delightful romance. Sunny, a food blogger, and Damian, a restaurant owner, have so much in common. Once they get past a few obstacles, they begin to fall in love. They did need a nudge in the right direction. Flora and her machinations always make me laugh! Sunny has more talents than being a renowned food blogger, and she puts them to good use helping Damian. I love their romance, and the highly unusual solution to the restaurant’s quality problems. Do read for a sweet love story wrapped up in an age old mystery.
Impossible to put down, I absolutely loved Wendy and Damien's story! What begins as a one-sided antagonistic relationship grows with every interaction that they have. I loved the return of characters from previous books and the gentle way new characters are eased into the story. Wendy is delightful, sunny and pleasant, where Damien is lonely and brooding. The mystery of the Midnight Manor kept me guessing right from the beginning and I didn't foresee that twist at all! The heat between Wendy and her Vampire was intense but could it be real and lasting? That was the emotional pull of this one and I couldn't stop reading until I had answers!
Just because he is a Vampire doesn't mean he not allowed to be passionate about food. Damian seems to be uniquely gifted at being charming except it all seems to fail him when he most wants it. Wendy shows a wonderful sense of fairness and of compassion, helping out when she doesn't have to. These two are a brilliant mix and Damian is a veritable cinnamon roll, like all the best grumps can be. Just two things you need to be aware of. One have your favourite snacks on hand cos you WILL need them with all the amazing food described and two, the sweet talk in the bedroom is more definitely on the spicy side. Loved it and I cannot wait for the next one.
Valentine for My Vampire is a return to one of my favorite monster worlds in Fairhaven Falls. One bad food review from a sunny, intelligent and beautiful food critic sends this grumpy vampire into a tizzy. Determined to set things right and redeem his restaurant Damian requests his colorful reviewer Wendy to give his restaurant one more try. However there seems to be a mysterious force sabotaging Damian’s restaurant and Wendy’s cool clam and reassuring presence sorts it out. Book is a delight just in time for Valentine’s Day!.

⦁ Monster Romance ⦁ Vampire/Human ⦁ Restaurant Owner/Food critic blogger ⦁ Soul Mates ⦁ Grumpy/Sunshine ⦁ Biting with some blood drinking ⦁ Valentine themed ⦁ Mystery ⦁ Forced Proximity ⦁ Protective Hero ⦁ Possessive Hero ⦁ Love at first sight ⦁ Sweet hero/Curvy women ⦁ Small Town
This was such a cute read and perfect for Valentine’s. I love a good grumpy vampire and Damien fit the bill perfectly. From the over the top way he leans into being a vampire to his possessiveness. Wendy was his perfect balance with her charm and no non sense attitude in the kitchen. Throw in a little mystery and a dash of fate and you got a perfect quick read.

Argh, this vamp got under my skin. I wanted to read his book since I first met him in the ‘Fireworks for my dragons boss’ book. I’m glad he got his happy ending too.
Wendy is a blogger who travels the country reviewing culinary gems. When she visits Moonlight Manor, the restaurant owned by local vampire, Damian, her experience is not what she had hoped.
Damian is livid at the review and pushed to make a good second opinion, he invites the blogger back. She accepts for two reasons, one to give the restaurant another chance (which the admits) and to get another chance to be around the tantalizing owner (which she does not admit...out loud).
The establishment has a serious of suspicious events that lead Damian & Wendy to employ some unlikely help.
I loved this book! Not only do we get our Favorite Vampires, Damien, story in this cozy romance.. we also get a cozy mystery! Damien is not having a good time lately. His restaurant is suffering mishap after mishap. Enter Wendy, a food blogger who did not have a pleasant experience at his restaurant. When they meet again there is heat aplenty. Mix in our favorite matchmaker, Flora, and a bunch of old friends and you have a very happy read! Valentine for my Vampire just moved to my "will be read over and over" pile. 5 very happy stars!
Rating 4.5 This was such a fun read and I enjoyed Damian and Wendy along with the fast attachment they had for each other. I haven’t read many stories with vampires in them but this was very entertaining. It’s well written and contains some unique secondary characters. I could not figure what was causing all the issues at Damien’s restaurant and was greatly surprised at the outcome. This is definitely a story worth reading.
