About the author

CHRIS SCULLY lives in Toronto, Canada. She grew up spinning romantic stories in her head and always dreamed of one day being a writer even though life had other plans. Her characters have accompanied her through career turns as a librarian and an IT professional, until finally, to escape the tedium of a corporate day job, she took a chance and began putting her daydreams down on paper.

Tired of the same old boy-meets-girl stories, she found a home in M/M romance and strives to give her characters the happy endings they deserve. She divides her time between a mundane 9-5 cubicle job and a much more interesting fantasy life. When she’s not working or writing (which isn’t often these days) she loves puttering in the garden and traveling. She is an avid reader and tries to bring pieces of other genres and styles to her stories. While her head is crammed full of all the things she’d like to try writing, her focus is always on the characters first. She describes her characters as authentic, ordinary people—the kind of guy you might meet on the street, or the one who might be your best friend.

Although keeping up with social media is still a struggle given her schedule, she does love to hear from readers.

For those who grumbled with the ending of Rebound, Chris Scully presented a free bonus chapter.

When a short story like this started with "He was going to have sex"... well, you kinda have expectation

But that was the joy of reading Chris Scully's stories (who had become one of my auto-read authors this year). The 8.6k story wasn't crammed with long sex scenes (sorry, smut fans!!) instead we still had Emmett being adorable drama queen, nervous about his first time with someone who was not his cheating-STD-carrying ex ... we had a SURPRISE scene related to Sky's own ex, we had Cujo-ish dog (Seriously, Emmett's reaction to the dog, PRECIOUS!), and we had Strip Gin. In between that, a HUGE amount of chemistry and delightful conversations between the two.

I loved this story -- I loved these two men! And I'm dying to have Terry and his own story somehow. That diva needed somebody who could tame him :)

Thank you, Ami, for bringing this to my attention:) Just finished reading and *sigh* this was a fitting epilogue. Nevertheless, I would love to read more about those two.

A lovely continuation, set a couple months after Rebound. The best part of this story, despite the first words at the beginning, is that this is not just one long sex scene. Some really nice relationship progression, the meeting of a good secondary character, and some sexy foreplay all work together to make this a wonderful extension to the original story.

I wasn't all that on board with the ex-jealousy, but the sex was hot. Wish there'd been more...or even another installment of how this couple made it work (or didn't) in the long term - things like, did Sky convince Emmett he's the forever kind of guy and did Emmett move? Or, did they pick somewhere new to be with each other? Or, was Sky the kind of rebound that Emmett needed to build back his self-esteem and self-worth to move on toward something else?

I don't understand how this free short has only got 8 ratings at the time of writing this review. A continuation of the original story picking up a couple of months later, we get more of the wonderful chemistry that we had in the original story. And thankfully this isn't just an excuse for a smutfest, the author gives us more backstory, some jealousy and a slobbering dog too.

Loved it. Short picks up a year after Emmett and Sky meets. The two haven't seen each other since but have kept in contact with each other via phone and email.
