Jude Jenkins lives for one thing only: driving me up the wall. We work on opposite desks, glaring at each other the whole time. He’s the devil. I wouldn’t trust him to put me out if I was on fire.
But our rooftop work party changes everything. When we dance… it feels like coming home.
We’re still bickering.
But we’re inching closer, too.
Maybe this tingly feeling isn’t hate after all…
Dancing with the Enemy is a short and steamy instalove story, starring two boneheads who are GONE for each other.
Jude and Violet are so fun. This is miscommunication done well, because I didn’t get annoyed. 🥳 I just wanted them to get there so much, but the tugs and stumbles were believable, and the HEA deserved. The Hating Game, but make it get straight to the point. 😏
“You are the most irritating man I’ve ever met. I go to sleep every night cursing your name.” “Stop flirting with me.”
PLOT: Violet and Jude work together and are constantly at each other's throats. Regardless of the fact that they argue, they both desperately want the other person. Jude sees his opening one night at a company party. Sparks fly and things get freaky on a rooftop. ;)
THOUGHTS: I really, really enjoyed this novella. Cassie Mint is an incredible author and I love her books to death. This one is more of an enemies to lovers, but their chemistry is FIIIRE. I loved it! 5/5
SAFETY: Virgin/celibate?: virgin heroine, not a manwhore hero OM/OW?: no Cheating/sharing?: no Triggers: none HEA? yes! <3
4.5 stars. This is one of my favorite Cassie Mint stories. We get a peek at the end of a slow burn.
Lost .5 star due to gender roles being too "traditional". She should always get hers first. And they didn't discuss diseases or pregnancy before going bare.
And when I'm in need of a short, cute romance novella with instalust before I embark on a slow-burn romance, I know I can trust Cassie Mint on delivering one.
I'm a bit behind on her releases so I'm catching up. First, I read Dancing with the Enemy which is the first book in the A Night to Remember series. I actually really liked it. I love me the work rivals trope where in fact they are both so obsessed with each other and love bickering around. I love that they let down those walls and begin to trust this person who seats next to them, who they have had a crush on them for years, but instead of actually talking about it, they prefer to joke around and annoy each other lmao. It's so fun!
When they are soft with each other??? In the dark??? And they whisper all these words they've never said??? It was epic. I had a fun time reading it and let me go and read the next ones.
This was all SWOON!!! The tension, the yearning, the chemistry, the banter!! Their emotions practically leapt off the page!! I absolutely loved this quickie, this author is a genius. She manages to squeeze in so much emotion and characterization into a novella! It’s witchcraft!
Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned, doesn’t come off as a manwhore. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No ow/om, no cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue years out.
3.5. A beautifully written, very short romance novella. Two work colleagues are always sparring, but secretly love each other. Their feelings finally are revealed at an office party. A feel good story. 🔥😍
Who doesn’t love a little enemies to lovers, workplace adversaries romance?! I’m such a sucker for the forbidden tension that comes with two people who allegedly hate each other while their chemistry leaps off the pages. Especially when the male main character already knows she;s the one and that they’re perfect for each other, he’s just waiting for her to figure it out, too. GAHHH! The best! Add in the fact that this is a super short novella that somehow gets the pacing of the story just right with enough wit, steam and a hea to wrap it all up and you’ve got a hit!
The start of the A Night To Remember series they say it is a thing line between love and hate and these two make you believer out of us. Violet and Jude, they butt heads on everything, but it is because they are attracted to each other, yet they claim to not like one other have no issues covering up their attraction by throwing not so nice accusations at one another until it all comes to a head during a work situation. The magnetic pull between them becomes too much to ignore and all bets are off they can’t fight it because the more they fight the stronger the pull will he get her to finally see him, will he communicate what he has been feeling all this time, will she be honest with him, and can they find common ground let’s hope not because the banter is amazing between these two?
Cassie Mint is one of my go-to authors for a quick, pick-me-up, short and sexy story that I’m sure to enjoy. I would call her an insta-love author but that’s not always the case, as with this book. What she has over other authors who write similar books is that her plots and characters feel likeable and real and the connection between them always electric.
When we meet our couple - Jude and Violet - they’ve known each other for a long time working for the same company. And boy do they infuriate each other. Lots of silly nicknames, hair ruffles, bickering and badgering. You can tell from the very first that this is classic school yard pulling pigtails - and our couple are mad for each other, even if neither of them realise it.
But they do realise it - so we get some yearning, angst and unrequited love - or so they think. I’m a sucker for an enemies to lovers but I’m definitely not going to say no to some yearning! The fact that Jude seems to be in a bit deeper at the start of the story just makes me happier. Love my men to be miserable!
Both Jude and Violet are likeable, relatable characters and I was definitely rooting for them to work things out. The pair have immediate chemistry and whether they’re fighting or flirting, you can feel the connection between them. The sex is deliciously hot but also adds to - and fits with - our couple’s story.
Much of the action takes place at an office party which I’m assuming is the Night To Remember in the series of the same name, of which this is the first book. We get teasing snippets of the other couples and I am so looking forward to the next two books Faking It with her Crush and Tangling with the Boss.
This was the fun and fresh, quick and sexy story that I needed to kick off my year’s reading. It’ll take you less than an hour to read but you’ll definitely be satisfied by the end. 5 stars.

p l o t : Jude is a sweet angel baby who’s a total goner for his coworker and desk neighbor Violet. He irritates her to get her attention. He has a huge ever growing pile of junk on his desk, for example, bc he knows she’s a neat freak and seeing it will give him her attention and she’ll be annoyed enough talk to him. Like I said, goner lol.
Unfortunately though he’s pulled her pigtails for too long and now she thinks he hates her and he doesn’t know how to bridge that gap to move their relationship forward. But he decides to take the plunge at the company party. He’s so cute he even calls HR to make sure she’s coming and everything. And she does indeed come… in more ways than one ;)
h o t c l i p s:
Violet moans when I move to her throat, sucking and nibbling at her warm skin. Her breath hitches when I press a thigh between her legs, gripping her hips, encouraging her to rub against me. To ride my thigh right here in the dark.
“Oh my—god. Jude! Oh, shit. Holy shit.”
… “Look at you.” His mouth curves up, and he strokes himself again. “Look at you squirming down there, Violet. You’re needy, aren’t you, sweet girl? You want a taste.”
Judas and his little harpy.....making fighting sexy
Dancing with the Enemy is the first book in the A Night to Remember series. This story is a fun and flirty read with OTT, and a lot of hot sizzle. Violet Moore and Jude Jenkins both work for the same company and are rivals. He loves to wind her up and she loves to try and get under his skin. They also sit opposite each other with desks that face each other. But under all that animosity is a lot of sizzling chemistry and repressed sexy tension. All it takes is the right setting at the right time and these two will explode all over each other, with clothes flying as fast as their inhibitions. They will always "fight" but they will never truly hate each other. I really loved this short and fun story. It is a great read with two characters you would love to watch spar in real life, as they are just so much fun to read. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: 🥃 Enemies to lovers 💋 Workplace romance 🥃 He falls first 💋 Virgin fmc 🥃 Public play . . . . . .
Jude and Violet are work enemies. They love to torture each other while secretly pining after one another. But the company is having a rooftop party and Jude is finally ready to make his move.
Cassie Mint is becoming my go to author for a quick spicy read without too much drama. Jude is fun and flirty, constantly trying to set Violet off because he loves her passion. Violet is more put together, organized and serious but secretly she desires Jude and his dominant nature.
I thought this was good. It was satisfying but also I wanted a little more. Maybe a little more spice, more dirty talk. Though my standards are probably unrealistic at this point. I felt like this would have been great with maybe ten or fifteen more pages. Also I will admit the epilogues are becoming predictable and a little repetitive. But still worth it.
Jude and Violet sit across each other in the office and on the surface, they hate each other, they bicker and one-up each other constantly. Yet, both crave each other’s company. And then there is the company party coming up, which may or may not change the whole game the two are playing... For a short story, this one has everything - humour, banter, intrigue and all the feels! It’s over the top, of course, but not in an unbelievable way, more like it keeps you either laughing or snickering at the antics of the hero and heroine, who are both such a hoot. And the chemistry between the two, the spice and heat - oh, my (fanning myself). Another brilliantly entertaining story from Cassie Mint. Just read and enjoy!.

This is the 1st book in the A Night To Remember series featuring the cute short and steamy, enemies to lovers, insta-love, workplace romance between Jude and Violet. Jude and Violet work together they sit across from each other and they are constantly arguing with each other and trying to outdo each other. From all appearances it seems that they hate each other when in fact it's the opposite they're in love with each other but they don't think that their feelings are reciprocated. Will the upcoming company party be what finally has them admit their feelings for each other? You really need to read this cute short and steamy, enemies to lovers, insta-love, workplace romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

This was an Enemies to lovers office romance and I loved that it wasn't the normal boss romance but that they were both working at the same level and in the same section. I loved how you could feel the heated tension straight away! Also having the 1st chapter on her POV and the 2nd chapter in his POV you knew straight away that they both shared secret feelings for each other and that sets the story up so you know that they are going to let those feelings free and they are going to heat up the story! I loved how there was a misunderstanding due to them sparring in the past but that it was dealt with quickly and that they both pushed their pride away and finally showed each other their real feelings. I couldn't get enough of this story and I always happy crave this author's next book!!.
I loved the dual POV telling the story about work rivals Violet and Jude. To experience their feelings of “hatred” and “love” while navigating trying to advance their relationship from rivals to lovers. At first I wasn’t sure about Jude but his first POV chapter won me over. He’s head over heels for Violet with so much difficulty transitioning from teasing her to loving her. Their chemistry will be obvious right away and make for a tension filled build up to the spicy scenes. I loved their epilogue as well and hope they feature in the epilogues of the other books as well. Loved this couple and enjoyed their story.

Romance trope: enemies to lovers Series: A Night to Remember Length: 61 pages
Plot: Jude and Violet have a love/hate relationship, except the love part is completely secret. They do nothing but snipe at each other in the office, but when an opportunity arises, maybe this will be the chance they were waiting for to confess something a little more than a deep, abiding hate.
Commentary: Maybe it's just that enemies to lovers isn't my favorite, but they really seemed to hate each other. They relished annoying one another. I couldn't see anything that they liked about each other beyond looks. I never got the sense that they really felt deep, true love for one another.
I loved Dancing with the Enemy Book 1 of A Night to Remember. Violet and Jude are enemies but there is a fine line between love and hate. When what they really want is each other but maybe Jude finally pushed too far. He was hoping to finally confess his foe for Violet but maybe she really doesn’t feel the same. This is a short and sweet office love story, l loved the storyline and the characters. I can’t wait for the next books and I would definitely recommend this book.

This book was one of those you simply can't put down after you begin reading. It's a pretty short novella, but it's packed with so much humour, sweetness, chemistry and my new favourite pair of frenemies.
CM is one of my absolute favourite authors and she just proves it time and time again - this is a masterpiece I can't wait to read again.

Dancing With the Enemy is a short and steamy, enemies-to-lovers, OTT, curvy girl gets her hunk office romance. Violet and Jude are office rivals with secret crushes on each other. Beneath all their verbally sparring longs desire. Will they finally give in at the office party?? I loved this couple. The chemistry and sexual tension were pure fire, and we got a great HEA after a little angst. I can't wait for Lucy's story next.

“I’m getting you a water,” Jude says, taking my elbow and steering me toward the bar. “You look like you might vomit, sweetheart, and I’m trying really hard not to be offended by that.”
now THIS is what Sally Thorne was trying to achieve when writing "the hating game". The tension, the chemistry, that thin, blurry line between hatred and passion, GOSH. I'm finishing this read aching and shivering. The scenes are just THAT good. Office workers rivals to lovers? Dominance battling? Bantering? Quips? Having to work for her trust? Having to learn to let go? YES PLEASE
This was a fun and witty enemies to lovers romance that has Violet and Jude sniping away at each other at work. These two manage to poke at each other pretty successfully, disguising their attraction to each other until things come to a head at a work function. Then all bets are off and they let out their true feelings. I liked the characters and the fact that the author gave us dual POVs to let us inside both their heads, making this so much more entertaining for me :D
