She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.
After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.
So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. 5 Bombshell stars!
BOMB is Spencer Shrike’s novella. I’ve been waiting for this since I first read Tragic. I may be in the minority, but when reading book one of this series, Ronin was just okay for me. I liked him a lot, but Spencer, I really dug him. Then in the next few books, Ford stole my heart and Spencer kind of got stuck on the back burner. But I still have a special place for this tattooed biker hottie. I loved this novella and I cannot wait for his full story!
Spencer’s ‘team’ is starting to out do him. And he’s not happy about it. It’s about time he was the one who got the girl.
And there is only one girl he wants. His Bombshell, Veronica Vaughn. The only problem is that Ronnie isn’t sure she wants Spencer anymore. Being ignored and not being first in his life for far too long, she’s out to change her life. Spencer has a lot of good reasons for being as distant as he’s been. He’s not the ladies man/dick he’s perceived to be. At least not anymore. Ronnie is the only girl he’s really wanted. And he won’t stop until she’s his.
My favorite part of this novella was getting all the history between Spencer and Ronnie. I loved seeing how they first met and watching their relationship develop through flashbacks of the past. It showed how great they were and how great they could be. Together.
Now back to the team. Each of these guys have their own job, their own style. Ronin is the face of the group. He’s the front man. He’s also the sweetheart. Ford is obviously the brains. And he’s a dominant man. Then there’s Spencer. Spencer is the GUNS. He’s the man that does the re-con, he’s the guy that takes care of business. He is also a hot as hell dirty talker, and you know how I love those ;) The chemistry he and Ronnie share is crazy hot!
This novella gives a lot of insight and background into Spencer Shrike’s life. Spencer is not at all like I thought he would be, and in the best way! After reading, I have to say, I’m still a Ford girl, but Spencer is a pretty close second! I can’t wait to finish his story. I have so many unanswered questions... Will he and Ronnie work out? What will happen with the team? Thankfully, we only have to wait until March 31st to find out!
What can I say about these stories and these guys? This is one of my favorite series. I just eat these books up. The originality, fantastic writing and perfectly flawed characters make for an amazing read! If you haven’t read them, I can’t recommend them enough!

5 Shrike Stars
Big wet sloppy kisses to J.A. Huss for the honor of not only letting me get my greedy (slightly sweaty) hands on this a few days early, but for bringing together an awesome group of sassy bitches for an amazing street team.
Spencer Shrike is on the verge of having everything he’s always wanted. His business is taking off, he’s on TV, he’s in love... there’s just one not-so-little mess that has to be cleaned up first. And until the trial is over, part of his future is on hold.
Veronica, Ronnie, Bombshell... that sassy broad that has had Spencer’s attention is tired of waiting. She loves the man, but she isn’t going to allow her life to stop while everything slips into place. But Ronnie hasn’t always been able to say no to Spence.
Bomb is the view into a day in the life of the muscle of the team. It’s the story of how he and Ronnie met, how he saw the girl he wanted and didn’t take no for an answer. But for Spencer there is a much larger game in play and until the end game is known, what he wants is what he can’t have.
First I fell in love with Ronin and then there was Fucking Ford. Now ladies it’s time to say hello to Mr. Shrike. He’s charming, dangerous and the kind of hot that melts your panties.
I wasn’t expecting a complex character, he always came across as a bit of a man-whorish meat head that although was loyal – just seemed like what you saw was what you got. But in no way is that who Spencer Shrike is. This boy has layers.
J.A. Huss caught my attention with Panic and has held it ever since. Each character she creates always ends up surprising the hell out of me by the end of each book. Where this changes up for us as the reader is in the dirty details, Bomb has a much more sexual feel to it.
Ronnie and Spencer’s chemistry is off the charts hot. Between his caveman stalkerish behavior and her fiery attitude, Bomb is the perfect title for this book, these two are explosive as hell.
Like with Slack, this is just a simple day in Spencer’s life. Although it was just a novella, the amount of feelings it captured was amazing.
I felt a little manic during this experience. He pissed me off, turned me on and then made me break down in tears.
Nothing about him was predictable and just when I thought I had him pegged, my world shifted and a whole new side of him emerged.
If you have not met the boys yet you need to read this series. Each book just keeps getting better and better. They all have their own appeal and bring something completely different to the story as a whole. I fell in love with a fictional character tonight and his name is Spencer Shrike.
I cannot wait for Guns to be released, to get the whole picture, resolution to the mess these boys have gotten into and to find out if Spencer will finally have everything he’s always wanted, even the one thing he thinks he doesn’t deserve.

5--Spencer is the BOMB--Stars!
Doooode.....Spencer has been misrepresented. Who else thought he was a player?
He is SO not! Yes, Spencer is tough, yes Spencer speaks his mind, and yes Spencer is trouble. But from the day he first saw Ronnie on the college campus, she was HIS!
I loved seeing how Ronnie and Spencer met. Spencer wasn't about to take no for an answer.
Ronnie....aka Veronica....aka Blondie.....aka Bombshell is feisty and fun! She's worked at her families tattoo shop since she was in college. But what no one knows the battles she faces on a daily basis.....how badly she wants to be anywhere else.
Ronnie's answer to anywhere else is Spencer. While he knows that he can't give her all of him right now, helping her is what he can do. And hopefully one day soon, when Spencer can give himself to Ronnie completely she'll still want him too.
Spencer and the gang have to first survive the trial. If Spencer can overcome his past, the reasons he hasn't been able to commit to Ronnie 100%, he'll get his "thing" with Ronnie.

BOMB is Spencer's story about how he fell in love with Veronica aka Bombshell. This novella takes place over the course of a day when Spencer finds out Veronica secretly dating another guy.
As Spencer goes about his day he reminisces about the first time he saw her and their first date.
Back to the present day - Spencer and Veronica learn they both have secrets that hinder their relationship from moving forward.
When I started BOMB I was questioning Spencer's motivates but by the end of the story I was *nodding* my head at what Spencer's trying to accomplish. Even though this doesn't end in a cliffhanger it is left open to present a good plot line for GUNS. I'm looking forward to next month's conclusion to Spencer's story.

4.5 Bombshell Stars
I was all wrong about Spencer. I thought he had no idea what he was doing with his love life and was simply stringing Veronica along.
"Wow." She laughs a little. "I think you just changed my life, Spencer Shrike."
"That was the plan, Bombshell. That was always the plan."
Spencer Strike is a man with a plan! He is focused on his end game and I sure hope he won’t be too late since he has been in love with Veronica for three years and the depths, the lengths he will go to protect her and have their hea is pretty impressive!
"It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
It’s a change-my-life-forever thing.
It’s a falling-in-love-and-lust thing.
It’s a recognizing-my-best-friend thing.
And it’s the day I decide—this girl is mine.
Forever."
This novella gives up present/past to the ins and outs of Veronica “Bombshell” (LOVE HIS NICKNAME FOR HER) and Spencer’s relationship. Poor Bombshell wants more and is ready to move on. Sadly, with the trial coming Spencer is in no position to give her what she wants and to protect her, he is going to let her go…for now.
My heart hurt for Veronica listening to what Spencer gives her and never being including in on his plan.
By the way, Spencer dirty talks ladies! This reader is SO ready for Spencer’s novel. BRING ON GUNS!!!

5 Perfect, Just the Most Perfect Stars * * * * *
BOMB: A Day in the life of Spencer by J.A. Huss is like a mysterious confectionery delight. It is one of those experiences complex in its simplicity which baffles the mind to take it all in. It is part of the repertory of what makes Ms. Huss the artist she is.
Picture the perfect cake... no frosting to let you think it will be sugary sweet... not a hint as to what will be inside... at first inspection... just a cake with a beckoning aroma which draws you in...only after you cut into it do you see all of the different layers and textures... only then do you have any idea of what sensations you are going to enjoy. It boggles the mind, you catch your breath and dig in..... happily.
Spencer has always been the kind of throw away guy in the series to me. Yes, he was important and on more than equal footing with Ronin and Ford... but not until Panic did I get a stronger sense of him and what he may mean to the big picture. He was represented to be the player... tough guy who handled the muscle... had a woman who didn't like Rook moving into the Shrike territory, Veronica. We got the sense that these two had serious history; he had moved on and was not being the type of guy who really looked after his women.
We learn in BOMB... this was done on purpose.
We learn the history of Spence and Veronica....learn of First Love and Always Love.
We learn of love which will do anything it must to be able to run the course Spence needs it to.... and we fall harder and stronger for Spence because of it.
Ms. Huss knows how to do her job... she creates, gives life, imparts real emotions and feeling to her people and then lets them fly... they fly with such beauty in the complex simple desire to love and be loved... it is almost too delicious.
Gun is coming... it is the next step in Spencer's story. I will be prepared and ready...

We learn of love which will do anything it must to be able to run the course Spence needs it to.... and we fall harder and stronger for Spence because of it.
Ms. Huss knows how to do her job... she creates, gives life, imparts real emotions and feeling to her people and then lets them fly... they fly with such beauty in the complex simple desire to love and be loved... it is almost too delicious.
Gun is coming... it is the next step in Spencer's story. I will be prepared and ready...

I went into this novella with a few ideas about Mr. Shrike and his on/off relationship with Ronnie.
But, boy was I surprised. Spencer, I misjudged you!
He isn't just the tough guy, who speaks his mind. He is actually really sweet, and loyal. He claimed Ronnie as his immediately. But his life is complicated right now and he is determined to keep her safe.

Ronnie aka Bombshell is feisty, fun and motivated. She is tired of waiting for Spencer, but he isn't ready to let her go. I can't wait to see how the rest of their story plays out!

Spencer Shrike aka Spence is a busy guy. He took over his family's business a few years back, and is now the owner of Shrike Bikes. He has his own t.v. show with the Biker Channel, has his own line of custom bikes, and does body art. He is currently opening a new shop in town for season two of Shrike Bikes, and at the same time trying to figure out who stole some of his bikes from his showroom.
Spencer is a gorgeous, successful man. He has reached all his goals professionally and seen his dreams come true, except in his personal life. Spencer has great loyal friends who are all in committed relationships. Spencer is the only one of their trio to not have that special someone to come home to each night.
The girl that has always been the one and owned Spencer's heart is Veronica Vaughn aka Ronnie/Bombshell. Spencer met Ronnie at college and instantly knew she had to be his. Not only was she beautiful, but was feisty, and he couldn't get enough of her. They started dating, and she was eventually his body painting model for almost three years, while also working as a tattoo artist at her family's tattoo shop Sick Boyz Inc.
With all the craziness going on in Spencer's personal life he has had to distance himself from Ronnie to protect her. Spencer and his friends have a trial coming up, and he doesn't want anyone to think he is dating Ronnie, because he doesn't want his problems to affect her. The problem with this is Ronnie doesn't think Spencer cares about her anymore. As far as she's concerned she isn't his girlfriend, and has started dating other men.
I am really looking forward to Guns to see how things turn out with this couple. I hope Spencer with be able to tell Ronnie how he feels about her before it is too late. I thought this novella was fabulous! I have always liked Spencer and thought he was funny and sweet, but in this novella we get so much more of his personality & his story. I adored the back story revealing how he first met Ronnie, and learning how deep his feelings are for her. I LOVED he is a dirty talker! Thank you JA Huss! He is just delicious!!! I still love the dynamic between Spencer, Ford, and Ronin, & Spencer may be moving to my #1 spot after I read Guns. He is quite a yummy tattooed slice of hotness! :D

Spencer….. We met him a long time ago didn’t we? He appeared in all three Rook & Ronin books, Tragic, Manic & Panic. Did he catch my attention there? A little, but I was so blinded by Ford I wasn’t paying a whole lot of attention to Spencer, and bikers, not really my type. Also, he already had a girlfriend. Long term relationships, not really my thing either. I love a wham, bam, YOU ARE MINE romance. Why has Spencer been with Veronica so long without committing? What’s his deal?? We get a novella BOMB, and a novel GUNS to figure him out.

We quickly learn Spencer is not quite a player after all. He’s a bad ass motherfucker is what he is. And he’s in love with Veronica Vaughn. He’s always been in love with Veronica Vaughn. So why hasn’t he claimed her? Why doesn’t he want the world to know she is his?

I have an epic book hangover from a NOVELLA. I thought my book hangover was bad after
Taut, well that is proving to be mild compared to what I'm feeling now.
I'm devastated. But in the best possible way. Because what the hell do I do until the end of March?
I’m excited, yet fearful of the days and weeks I have to wait until I get my hands on Guns.
I’m ruined for all other book and especially book boyfriends. I found my number one.
I'm 100% invested in ALL the characters from the Rook and Ronin series. I'm so invested that I've become fully delusional in my love affair with my (now) number one book boyfriend-of all time. Bomb is a novella about said book boyfriend, Spencer Shrike. I've waited months to get my hands on this book. I claimed Spencer Shrike as my top 2013 book boyfriend months ago after I read the Rook and Ronin series, all three in a week. He was such a charmer in those books that I was beyond delighted when the author told me she was planning a book just for Spencer. It made me have a girl crush on her and I happily stalk her, daily.
So what is it about Spencer that makes my heart melt and my panties wet? He’s a protector. He’s smart. He’s a charmer. He’s a bad ass with a heart of gold-you just don’t know it yet. He is my total package in book boyfriend material. I KNEW he was a sweetheart despite his hard ass exterior. I just KNEW there was something deeper and meaningful in him besides his charismatic, humorous, “I don’t care” attitude. And by the end of this novella, all my instincts proved right. I’m not sure how it was possible for me to love Spencer Shrike more, but I do. Jesus… his actions and words in this novella DID. ME. IN.
Now there’s Veronica. I wanted to hate her. I wanted to keep Spencer all to myself in my delusional love bubble. It would be easy for me to just read for Spencer and my love for him alone, but JA Huss has done what I thought would be impossible. I fell for Veronica too. I fell a little bit “in-like” with her in Slack, Ford’s novella. (She did after all have my favorite line of all time in a book.) In Bomb, she blew me away and I need to admit to myself she is the one for Spencer. *sob* Veronica is a sassy, strong, independent character. She is a kick ass heroine in her own right. You can tell she is totally in love with Spencer. It pains her to not be with him. But she stands by her decision not to be a doormat and for that, I adore her. To follow what you think and know to be true, and go against attraction, lust and love, and smoking chemistry---it’s the best kind of book angst I totally enjoy putting myself through. Plus the scenes between Ronnie and Spence are filled with steamy, totally hot, full blown chemistry. I was actually fanning myself. I had to stop and breathe…that’s right, I was actually holding my breath, and needed to remind myself to inhale. (But I did it to myself, I pictured myself as Ronnie throughout the entire book… and it proved to be the best Valentine’s Day present ever!)
To say I enjoyed this book is like a slap in the face. This is the best book I've read all year, and it’s a novella. I loved getting a glimpse of Spencer Shrike, and that’s what this book is. It’s a day in the life of this amazing, "he’s not what you think" character. You get a little bit of info here and there on the whys and what-not’s, but are still left curious, wanting more. JA does a brilliant job at dropping breadcrumbs and clues for what’s to come in the next novel, Guns. It’s going to be explosive, that’s all I know. Will the past come back and kick everyone’s ass? Do we even know everything that’s played a part in this series? Will everyone in FoCo get a HEA…? I’m not quite sure. What I am sure of is I can’t wait until Guns is released. Not only is it going to be my favorite birthday present, I have a feeling it’s going to be my favorite book of the year, if not ever.
I’m going to call my doctor now and ask for a few weeks supply of Xanax, hopefully that will help me wait out the weeks to come Guns releases at the end of March. Bravo JA for a perfect novella. In my opinion, this is your best writing so far! And thank you for creating a world of characters that have occupied my life so immensely. I still need some intervention to remind me they aren't quite as real as I make them out to be… and that is a definition of a great author.

I feel like I was given a box of 1,000 dollar chocolate from where ever the hell they founded chocolate, told I could eat the whole damn box and then tick tick tick BOOM. I was told to stop after the 1st one.
THIS IS JUST NOT FAIR.
JA Huss is an evil genius. 100% evil but in the best of ways. I have the biggest lady boner for her. She just keeps amazing me with each word she puts down on paper. She makes my stalker tendencies flare into full stalker mode. She makes me HATE Novellas. There is never enough words or chapters in her novellas. If I could, I hunt her ass down, tie her up and make her give me more.
When we first met Spencer he was all fun and games. He was the jokester, the flirt, the one we wanted to hang out with, make out with a little, I know I wanted to go for a rumble in the sheets with is fine piece of ass after he painted me up. But he seemed to be pushed into the corner when Ford and Ronin appeared.
NO ONE PUTS BABY IN THE CORNER.
Spencer Shrike has exploded right threw my iPad screen and is demanding his time in the spotlight.
God, this man has a smooth tongue. The words that come out of his mouth are like melting butter. I want him to smear it all around my body and beg me to allow him to lick it off. HOT DAMN. I honestly am not even sure if my vagina is still connected to my body.
I am a huge fan of Ronin. I am forever in love with Ford, but Spencer Shrike has forever stolen my heart. Now don't get me wrong. If a threesome was in the works, I would be the first person in line for that shit.
Most authors can't surprise me. Their books all seem to be the same level of writing. But there a choice few that can surprise the hell out of me, and JA HUSS is one of those authors. Her writing is out of this world, her characters are DOWN RIGHT sexy as fucking hell and they make me want to tag along and be the perv that watches them do it.
She sets the scenes, describes the envoirment and I feel like I am right there in the same room watching the events unfold. That is the best kind of author. She makes it easy for me to forget my life, my kids, my stressful job, all the bullshit my life is going threw and all there is, is a hot fucking piece of ass and Spencer. Oh yeah ladies, Veronica Vaughn is fucking hotter than hot. She makes me want to jump the dick ship and join the vag wagon.
But the way Spencer feels about her, the way he never denies the feelings, the way he is swoon-fucking-worthy is just . SIGH, big epic SIGH for Spence.
Bomb is full of naughty shit, sweet nothings whispered in the sunset, rip your panties off and beg to be taken every which way to Sunday and a whole lot of FUCK ME NOW.

Well I think I have to officially say, I'm pretty sure JA Huss has ruined me for all other authors! I have such a girl crush on JA it's not even funny. She completely roped me in starting with Tragic and has not disappointed me ever! I can honestly say I LOVE all of her characters. I typically fall in love with the men and then hate the women, but the women are equally as amazing and strong characters that I have fallen in love with them too!
So.... BOMB, Spencer Shrikes novella, holy fucking hotness! Spencer is smart, resourceful, successful and so loving. He is such a badass!!! I absolutely cannot wait for GUNS now to learn a little more about Spencer Shrike. What I do know is that he is a sexy motherf@%#*! Huss has done it again with this novella. I have a total girl crush on JA. Freaking love her words.
I have always thought of Spencer exactly how JA wanted me to think of him - gorgeous, goofy, tough and aloof. He's the muscle of the "team." And while he's super talented and successful, he's been kind of a dick to Veronica. Which made him less desirable to me.
I fell in love with Ronin when I read the Rook & Ronin Series.
Ford completely stole my heart when I read Taut.

This is the story of Spencer Shrike and his "Bombshell", Veronica "Ronnie" Vaughn.
It was a really enjoyable novella that turned out to be a very quick read.
Spence was likable in the Rook and Ronin books but I never felt like I made a connection with him.
In BOMB we finally get to know Spencer Shrike better.
He's a man with a "Plan" and it's all for Ronnie, his Bombshell.
I had thought he was only using Ronnie for sex, boy was I wrong!!
And holy hell does Spence have a dirty mouth and it made for a pretty HOT sexy time scene.
My only wish was that this one was a little longer and that we had a couple more sexy times thrown into the mix.
I'm sure we'll get that in the next book. :)
I did love that this guy has eyes only for his Bombshell and that he really has been planning to make a life with her even though it seemed he was not at all as invested in their relationship as much as Ronnie was.

Ronin, Ford and Now Spencer?? JA Huss is Trying to Kill Me!!!
Starting this book I kept telling myself that I am a Ford fan, not Ronin and not Spencer, just Effing Ford all the way. After TAUT where we spent a day in Ford's head, I didn't think there was going to be room for Spencer Effing Shrike and boy was I wrong!
With BOMB we now spend a day in the mind of Spencer Shrike, artist, custom bike builder and all around bad ass. He is in love with Veronica Vaughn and until this book, I didn't get the whole Ronnie and Spencer thing. Spencer's life is a bit of a disaster right now and the only thing he knows he wants, he just can't have. Not now anyway and who knows if she will even want him later.
Although we only spend one day with Spencer, there is a whole different out look to him. Sure its sexy that he paints naked chicks, but man Spencer Effing Shrike has all kinds of hotness going for him. He is that tough on the outside guy, yet a big mush ball when it comes right down to it, and the boy knows how to do things on a motorcycle I can only read about!!
BOMB opens up another can of worms that has you on the edge of your seat waiting for GUNS. This series is fantastic starting with TRAGIC, book one and they get better and more twisted as they go. There is something big going on and I am almost afraid to see how it is all going to end. Great series, can't wait for the next one!!

Spencer Shrike. Mmm yeah. Bomb is a sneak peak into his life.
I loved it. It was a short and easy read that is a bit of a tease. It leaves you wanting more and with a promise of so much more to come.
Ford may have captured by attention in the Rook and Ronin series but Spencer has my attention now. I absolutely cannot wait for Guns!

Ronin. Ford. Spencer. This is the trifecta of book boyfriends. Ronin...eh, he didn't really do it for me. But I was intrigued by Ford and Spencer's appearances in the Rook & Ronin series (Tragic, Manic, and Panic. If you haven't read these, do. Please do.) So I was super excited by the spin-offs SLACK and TAUT for Ford. I mean...Ford is amazing. He's so bluntly honest and has this backstory that is just...wow. Ford is sexy. He's dirty. He's naughty. He's brilliant and sophisticated while also being one of the boys. But this isn't about Ford, so lemme shut up.
This is about a day in the life of Spencer Shrike. And I expected him to be emotional. Why? Because he's an artist. He paints and he builds these custom bits of machinery that are hotter than hot. And to do any kind of art, you gotta have passion and emotions. You gotta have a soul. And hoo boy, does he.
Spencer Shrike is the tattooed, bad boy, biker. He's a heart stealer. He's the muscle. He's the bada*s your mom warned you about based on his appearance. He's a walking orgasm. And then you get this peek into his head and heart, and your panties kinda just drop/melt, and you're wishing you were his Ronnie. He's not just the muscle, he's not just this sexy bad boy. He's gooey on the inside, utterly in love, and willing to sacrifice a chance with her if it means she's happy and well-protected.

I went into BOMB not knowing if I was going to love Spencer or not. He's hot in his little parts throughout the Rook and Ronin series, but I just wasn't sold on him being my "type". Ya know?
Spencer is very much the Alpha male. He likes things to go his way, to have things under control. He wants to have Veronica Vaughn his way and under his control. Though...that may not be quite as easy as he imagines.
I can say that Ronnie is very much my type of girl. She's really pretty sensitive, almost fragile, but has this hard exterior. She comes across as someone who doesn't take shit from anyone.
Spencer breaks that shell, gets under her skin and...shatters her heart.
Seeing how Spence and Ronnie met, how the volatile relationship started, was the perfect teaser. A small bite of what the bigger picture will taste like in GUNS.

I am so in love with this series. I love JA Huss writing and can never get enough and I am never disappointed. You first read about Spencer in Tragic, Manic and Panic and I could not get enough of him. This was a quick little read and more insight into Spencer. We find out why he's "blowing off" Ronnie and realize his true feelings. I'm anxious now to read Guns soon cause I love these boys, though Ford is my favorite (sorry Soencer) but he is!! Spencer's cocky but love able too!!

He's building a new facility, getting ready for a new season of his reality TV show, and trying to keep his girl from dumping him for good. He's been together with Veronica Vaughn for the better part of three years, and now with the mess he's in with Ronin and Ford, he's just trying to keep her safe. Unfortunately, that means, he has to pretend like he doesn't care about her, and that is tearing him up.

In Bomb, we see how the two of them met and how taken he was with her from the first time he saw her. We see how Ronnie's feisty spirit meshes so well with Spencer's intensity. But, the biggest surprise is the lengths that Spencer will go to to keep her in his life. He always fronted as a player - as someone who wouldn't be serious about any one girl. Like I said - Spencer is smart. Everyone has been thinking exactly what he wanted them to think. But, the truth of the matter is, he is serious about Ronnie. And, if he can just hold it together for a few more weeks, he can come clean to her and they can start their lives together.
There was so much information packed into this Rook and Ronin spinoff novella. We get some backstory on Spencer and Ronnie's relationship. We get the lowdown on Spencer's current situations, both with his upcoming trial and with his biggest business competitor. And we see the framework being laid for his future plans with both his business and with his girl.
Bomb is told entirely from Spencer's POV. It is exciting, funny, incredibly sexy, and believe it or not, really romantic. Although reading this isn't necessary to understand what will happen in Guns, Spencer's full-length novel due out in a few months, I definitely recommend reading this first. Guns will be the final book set in the Rook and Ronin world, and it promises to be absolutely explosive. Take all the time with these characters that you can now, because soon it will be all over.

I was not sure what to expect going into this book. I really liked Spencer in Tragic, Manic, & Panic. He was a huge flirt and cocky as all get out, but did he intrigue me like Ford did? HELL YES! I wanted to know why Veronica (Ronnie aka Bombshell aka Bomb) Vaughn was his achilles heel. I wanted to know how he fit into the whole "Team". What does he contribute? A LOT! that is for sure. And as to why Bomb gets to him....LOVE IT! She is a fierce feisty femme fatale that keeps Spencer on his toes.
I was irritated at first for some of his antics, but when he explained himself at the end of the book? gah! He is #1 boyfriend material. This is what I learned about Spencer
1)He is a sex god with a majestic 'your highness'
2)He has a REALLY awful tattoo that needs covered up
3)He is everything you have ever read about him in the newspapers
4)He is willing to sacrifice EVERYTHING to keep his girl safe.
SWOON!
I literally do not know how I am going to be able to wait for GUNS, the things coming up for this group is absolutely going to be EXPLOSIVE!!
