Fall of Night by Joseph Nassise is the continuation of the action/horror Templar Chronicles and the fight between good and evil.

Knight Commander Cade Williams disappears into the Beyond under the weight of his self-imposed guilt in the killing of his wife in the last book, Judgment Day. Riley is acting commander of Cade’s squads. Meanwhile, Gabrielle turns up in another person’s body in Juarez, Mexico. She is an admirable woman. As Gabrielle works her way back to the U.S. and the home Cade made after joining the Templars, the Templar organization is being overtaken by evil. Riley implements a plan that Cade had set in place for just such an event.

Joseph Nassise writes excellent good vs evil stories. The Templar series is gripping and intense. In this most recent installation he stays true to his characters and offers twists and turns that fit right in with the storyline. I like the way he portrays the modern day Templars. He is also very good at showing how evil can infiltrate even the most devout organizations. His writing engages one’s emotions and rivets attention until the final page.

One of my favorite series, I highly recommend this story, especially to adults and young adults who like military and horror action. It is best if the series is read in order as each book builds on the last. Don’t forget about the two novellas also.

Book six in the Templar Chronicles, see's the story pickup straight after the events of book five. Cade having made the ultimate sacrifice, is grieving and still wanted by The Order, promptly disappears. This book follows two main plots; Sgt Riley, the new echo team leader and the resurrected Gabrielle. A good book, that moves at a nice pace, the only disappointment is that Cade plays no part in it. With three more books planned, the series is still going strong.

I love this story and this book in the series is the best so far. All of the characters are the type that you feel like you know them. You think you know exactly how they will react and then they surprise you with new depths to their personalities and uniqueness. Joe is one of my favorite authors and I always look for anything new he has to offer.

When I began reading the story, I thought the finale was at hand. Far from it, as the tale flipped between the Templars and Cade Williams' wife, Gabrielle, and the nemesis of the series....

The battle for the human race is intense, and filled with scary surprises, sudden unexpected events, and heroic fails, along with amazing "saves" and moments of hope. This story is pretty much a non-stop battle between Good and Evil, demons and archangels, and of course, The Templars - that ends on the point of a sword. Can't wait to read the sequel!

If you've made it this far in the series be prepared. You may not be used to this perspective but it's a wild ride.

The adventure continues

Cade has. Vanished. The Templar order is changed completely. Gabrielle returns. And the battle goes on. Things heat up. And Riley must figure it out.

I was given an e-copy of this book for an unbiased review.

I was late coming to this series, but it is growing on me. This started immediately after the last one left off, with the apparent defeat of the Adversary. Some great, and unexpected twists to the plot! The story starts with Cade reverently taking care of Gabrielle's body, burying it under an old oak in his back yard. We immediately move to Mexico, where a coma victim has miraculously awakened -- it is Gabrielle, in another woman's body!! And this is just the beginning!!
Is the Adversary really gone? Why are the leaders of the Templars acting so strange? Can Riley and Gabrielle save the day??

The story did end with a cliffhanger and now I'm really looking forward to the next volume!!!

This picks up where Judgement Day left us with the cliff hanger of what really happened to Cade's wife, Gabrielle. Fall of Night focuses on Gabrielle and Cade's former 2nd, Riley, and their struggles to escape the machinations of the Adversary and his minions. It is a suspenseful page turner and it ended too quickly because we never saw Cade after the first chapter and I really wanted to know what he was doing while Gabrielle and Riley were trying to stay out of the Adversary's clutches.

It left us with another cliff hanger. As Cade once did to save his wife, this time Gabrielle is going into the terrifying Beyond, to find her husband.

Stay tuned for episode 7!

Nassise just keeps getting better and better. You can see him moving pawns into play for a huge endgame. You begin to see where characters fit in. This series keeps getting better and better.

Cade has disappeared and there is trouble in the Order. Riley must deal with the pressures of being the new Echo team commander, the interplay of Order politics, and walk a mine field layed out by hidden allies and enemies alike. We also see the return of an old friend. She will begin to bring things to a head and only she can bring Cade back into play.

This is one of the best "middle of a series" books I've ever read.

Poorly finished

What a let down , this is being dragged on now purely for money I would imagine !!!A very disappointed reader who enjoyed the other books in this series but feels Mr Nassise is running out of steam as this book left more disappointing poor endings than it answered I feel the books have got shorter as we pay more !!! It's a shame as this has put me off the series and I feel let down , I won't be buying any further books by this author .

I thought this was the last book in the series but it was only the "latest" book in the series. Not complaining though. It was quite good and I enjoyed the in-depth look at a couple of characters besides Cade Williams. With nothing as it seems, there are lots of twists and turns. Very enjoyable.
