Leon has finally discovered that Marie has also been reincarnated to the game world, and that she knows the otome game better than he--in fact, she has taken the title of Saint from Olivia! But Marie still seems to be hiding something vital... Speaking of hidden things, the ruin to which the pair have fled suddenly collapses, revealing a whole other level to the game world, a level populated by beautiful, yet freakish, long-eared elves! As neither Leon nor Marie knows the new script, how will they be able to escape, or survive?!
Leon discovers that Marie also reincarnated into the game like him, but unlike the readers, does not know that she is his sister, who he has had a complicated relationship.
This is unfortunately for me at least two volumes beyond where I last read, something I only realised after I started reading. Yes, I wanted to know what happens beyond where the anime left off. No, I don't want to know what happens THIS far out (yet)!
It's also probably past where I should've stopped, since one of the "bonus" stories is yet another of that tired trope where the two main (girl) love interests are in the bath together, "admiring" each other's naughty bits. Loudly. In the presence of another girl who is uncomfortable with her own (flat) naughty bits. I mean, "at least" it only does it like twice in the series... THAT I KNOW OF... which is at least better than when even the commenters on a different anime commented that "They AREN'T in a bath scene in this episode! WOW!"
Like, it's so boring. I'm not opposed to porn, but "OH YOU HAVE BREASTS TOO LET ME FEEL" is the fastest way to make it dull. At least get some pointers from Oglaf on making it FUNNY, too!
...
Oh, yeah, there's a story, too, I guess. There are elves in this one, and while I can follow the story well enough that I probably don't NEED to read the volumes I missed, it does take a minute to get my bearings. Sounds like the Saga of Tanya the Evil brand of "comedy" where nobody (in high places) is on the same page as the main character, so Leon keeps getting promoted WAY above his comfort level, for DRAMA. It's interesting, but I also just got turned off from the series again at the bathtub scene. Otherwise, it's pure B-grade entertainment—fine in the moment but out of sight, out of mind.
(I'm also, for the record, guessing at the type of demi-humans since I don't think their species was ever spelled out... they're either wolves or fluffy-tailed cat—or BOTH??—but hard to tell.)
