Mae needs a nanny. Preferably an aging male with a balding head. Too bad the Jedi Knight of Mannies and ovary-charmer, Remi, shows up instead.

Mae, a single mother navigating a male-dominated corporate world, is trying to keep her company from folding. Days are long and nights are stressful. Add an active toddler into the mix, and life is like trying to extinguish a fiery blaze with a watering can. Seeking balance in her life, Mae hires a male nanny but soon realizes giving up control is harder than she thought. And she really shouldn’t be fantasizing about her child’s way-too-young caregiver.

Remi doesn’t take himself too seriously, except when it comes to caring for his charges. When a dream job lands in his lap, he’s all too eager to take the contract. Only, he didn’t realize he’d risk losing that job so soon. By committing the nannies’ cardinal sin—fall for the parent.

As they grow closer, Remi can no longer keep his feelings to himself, but Mae is adamant about not adding more complications to her already hectic life. Can Remi's belief in
their connection convince Mae that giving him a shot is
worth it? Or is she right in thinking this reckless affair can
only make them lose it all?

Are the risks worth taking?

The Manny is a steamy contemporary romance stand-alone.

Remi and Mae were an absolute pleasure to get to know!

You’d never know this is only Nina Bloom’s second book! Truly a gifted writer who knows how to reel in her audience in and keep them spellbound!

These characters have such a unique and powerful voice that I can still hear afterwards, I kid you not! To me this is the most important part of any story. To feel all of the emotions behind what makes Remi and Mae so special and memorable.

The Manny has it all! Romance, laughter, drama, and steam!

Beautiful story and hands down, one of my favorites this year!!! Definitely a must read!

The Manny is a role reversal story where the FMC is the successful business woman and the MMC is the caregiver, but don’t think that takes anything away from this beautiful read, because it doesn’t.

Seeing a man comfortable enough in his masculinity to live his life the way he wants, whether that be a caregiver or a high flyer executive, is darn addictive and appealing.

This story isn’t at all what I thought it would be. It was so much more and it made me see things through a different perspective. I’m sure a lot of people have heard of others being binary. This was something I had absolutely no knowledge of until reading this book. I think Nina Bloom put this forward beautifully and informatively.

She treated the character and subject with the utmost respect. I admire the way she showed everyone an understanding that we are not all the same. We have different beliefs and understandings of who we are as individuals and that’s okay, because it’s the person we are inside that counts.

The way that Nina has shown Remi to be a true caregiver was beautifully done. He’s comfortable with who he is, the fact that he chose to work with children in a home environment does not lessen his appeal one iota.

Remi is a man of many faces. He’s kind and understanding, he’s open and full of laughter, but he’s also a dominant alpha male, he knows what he wants and won’t be deviated from his course. And ladies, that right there, is what we all yearn to have in our homes, our hearts and our beds.

Mae is a woman full of determination to succeed, despite the obstacles of men with preconceived sexist behaviour getting in her way. As a single mother for a number of years I can fully relate to the feelings of failure that Mae experiences. Wearing so many hats every moment of the day is damn exhausting and more often than not something has to give.

I love the powerful message that Nina Bloom portrays throughout this story. Women work damn hard to succeed in what is still seem like a man’s world, we can succeed in the business world whether we have children or not. Our children and the people we love make us stronger. More determined to succeed.

This is a book with a number of powerful messages and from the tips of my toes to the hair in my head I want to thank Nina Bloom for being caring and talented enough to portray these messages in such a profound and compelling way.

Absolutely spellbinding!!
So many darn stars I couldn’t count them all.

DISCLAIMER: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this story! This was my first book that I read from Nina and it won’t be my last!

I loved Remi and Mae. I loved watching their chemistry develop throughout the book . Remi is quite the cinnamon roll and I loved how he lived to make Mae and her daughter Isabel happy, even when he wasn’t working. Remi and Isabel’s relationship is something special and I really enjoyed their scenes in this book!

I absolutely adored Jayden, Mae’s best friend and business partner. Jayden is the first non-binary character that I have read in a romance novel, their pronouns are they/them, and so it took me a little bit to get used to. but they were absolutely adorable! I loved how they were there for Mae and yet wasn’t afraid to give her some tough love when she was being stubborn. The whole time I read this book, whenever Jayden was mentioned, I somehow kept seeing Chris Sullivan in my head. (For those who don't know who he is, he played Toby in the show, This is Us.)

Thank you Nina for the advance copy! I can’t wait for more people to read this book!

Mae and Remi’s Story . . .

Mae knows the sacrifice it takes to run a company, and when her digital marketing company is struggling, you can’t walk away or leave it to others to fix. So she is a bit overwhelmed right now and needs a nanny to take some of the burden off of her shoulders at home. Unfortunately, Remi is not the aging grandfather type male she envisioned to care for her 2-year-old daughter, Isabel. She will soon learn, however, that Remi is exactly what she needs in her life, dependable, compassionate, and supportive in so many ways.

Because Remi is so easy to deal with, the connection that begins to form between them gathers strength as Remi hopes to be a more permanent fixture in her and Isabel’s life. But Mae doesn’t need yet another complication, regardless of how she feels. Can he convince her they belong together? Or is she too overwhelmed to deal with another “distraction”? And will she let him walk away?

Miranda Keller co-owns ( with her best friend Jay) a company in the digital marketing industry called Ever Heart.
Jay Morales is Miranda’s best friend and co-owner of Ever Heart.
Isabel is Miranda’s daughter.

Manny and Miranda meet , when he is sent to be the caregiver for an Isabel.
There is an instant attraction and chemistry is off the charts and explosive.
She and Jay are struggling and trying to find a solution to keep the company a float.

In this story women have to work twice as hard, raise a family , but it seems it is still a man’s world in business. Women have become more stronger and succeeding in business.

This book has intrigue, realty and a second chance at romance.

Great Job. Nina Bloom !!!

Thank you to Nina Bloom for allowing me to read an ARC copy of this book. I will admit that this book had me hooked. The sexual tension between Mae and Remi was just chef's kiss honestly. And their relationship did not feel forced or rushed. It felt like it was going at a good pace. But sometimes, there were times where I was about to cry, especially towards the end. The world that was presented within this book was just so amazing. I cannot wait to read more from Nina Bloom.

The Manny was an unexpected surprise. It’s steamy, reverse grumpy-sunshine, reverse age-gap romance. Mae is a sassy, feisty, career driven, single mom who runs a digital marketing company with her bestie. Remi is a young and hunky nanny who is a ray of sunshine. When he shows up as the nanny for Isabel, Mae is surprised to see the young hunk. The two have an instant connection, but Mae can't handle another "distraction." Will she let him walk away? Can Remi show her he's all in? Remi was a dreamboat and almost too good to be true. This was an emotional roller-coaster of a ride with drama, love, and laughter that I fully enjoyed.

This story was so cute, as well as spicy. There aren’t many male nanny stories and I loved this one. Mae and Remi had insane chemistry from the beginning and the way Remi was with Isabel was absolutely precious. This was a great story about finding and building your own family.

An ok read, Mae is a single Mum & has hired a male nanny to her young daughter. Enter Remi who is her saviour, not just for her daughter but herself as well. Mae comes across as whingey at times and Remi seems sometimes a little too good to be true but nice escapism. Thanks to Booksprout for the advanced copy

This book is everything I could hope for in a book! The characters were so well written and so likable.

Mae is a single mom to a rambunctious toddler, she is stressed out at work while she tried to keep her company from falling apart and all this makes she is failing.

And Remi….this man is the sweetest. He is thoughtful, great with Mae’s daughter and so dang charming. He breaks the big rule though when he starts falling for Mae.

This is just a book that needs to be read!.

It was slow at first, the playing hard to get was too much they fought their attraction for too long for the sake of little isa bea and it was almost too much for me until on 47% read they give in from there it got faster. Both characters were charming and grate in their own way. Fl was string woman, who respect herself and portrayed as very likable strong personality. The Ml although young he was understanding matured and loves them both unconditionally. I like that he went for her but allowed her to came to him with her own pace. The last half of a book was page Turner a bit of suspension and very happy moments and reunion, 👍👍👍.

Whoa, when I thought this was just a predictable story, I was knocked off my feet. This was anything but and I loved every minute of it. Laughing, cringing right along with Mae, swooning for my new book boyfriend Remi, tearing up, and on the edge of my seat.
This was a rollercoaster ride I didn’t expect.

Mae, a successful, strong, independent, single mother can fight and win most battles. When it comes to Remi though, this was a losing war from the day he came knocking.
If I could lose like her in this battle…well, I would be a willing sacrifice because I mean, come on, it is Remington!

The heroine and hero aren’t where the fun and well created characters stop. You have Jay, the nonbinary best friend who I am sure everyone envies Mae for. They are the best friend every person wish for. Isabelle is a brilliant little toddler who is also on Team Remi from day one. Add in Kiara and Cody, and they are the perfect touch.

Nina has a strong skill to making the characters real. The interactions feel so real, the images are painted clearly of the characters, scene, and even the witty banter.

I found some great personal messages in this story which provides self reflection. And it is perfectly placed in a well written love story.

I highly recommend this read!

"Working from home isn't ideal because it's hard to think about proposals when I have an active toddler throwing food and tantrums." - Mae

Mae is an independent, ambitious, career woman who's achieved a lot within the male dominated world of corporations. But having a very active toddler and being a single mom is no joke and places more strain on her shoulders. Mae wouldn't trade Isabel for the world only she knows she needs help because she's struggling.

Enter a nanny who is a man and a very hot one at that! Not only is he causing Mae to have wild fantasies in her head but he's also a perfect caregiver for Isabel. Mae must keep their relationship professional or risk losing it all. She can't jeopardize this for her daughter or herself. Remi's a good fit for her and her home and she needs the extra support! Especially with the fate of her cofounded company in the balance!

"He leaves a little sunshine wherever he goes." - Mae

I found this read quite refreshing when it came to the classic trope of businessman/nanny. Mae being the hardworking businesswoman and Remi the dutiful "manny". Neither of them feeling insecure about their genders or trying to one up the other or stating the other should be doing a more "suiting role". I loved that they saw the value in each other and found respect for all they have achieved plus some.

Mae is a single mom and doesn't glorify being a single mom. I admired that Nina showcased the reality and hardships of being a single parent and just being a parent in general. You love your children and want to be there always for them but sometimes you need a break. Mae struggles with feelings of inadequacy and that she's not living up to the standards of a "good mother". At moments seeing how Remi handles Isabel and feeling like a failure even though she is doing her best. Ah, the whispers of doubt.

I liked how Mae is a successful businesswoman and knows her worth. She doesn't tolerate men trying to negotiate proposals in hotel rooms. . . Only as she continues to fight tooth and nail for her company to stay afloat, she begins realizing things about herself and her life.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Remi and Mae. Both having mutual feelings and pinning for one another but not being able to act on it. I appreciated that Nina included the detail of Mae thinking of Isabel first and foremost wanting what's best for her daughter. Making things more complicated as feelings and bonds grow. Remi's also younger than Mae and this factors into some of her decision making. (Yes, a reverse age gap!)

"Queeny's laughter is the prettiest melody I've ever heard. I try to make her sing it every chance I get." - Remi

I loved reading from Remi's POV and just how he saw the world. Seeing Mae for who she is and not feeling lesser because of her career. His positive outlook on life and how he really does spread a little bit of sunshine everywhere he goes. Remi being assertive and stern when he needs to but ultimately just happy. This romance not being a simple, clear cut one. Raw emotions and vulnerability being shown as they navigate through things.

This book has language spread throughout. Again, we see firsthand the not so fun side of being a parent and the stress of it. Men in suits using their power and influence to belittle FMC and using her mother status as a weapon against her. Misogyny and inequality shown. There's also a major accident that takes place in the book and the sequence of events after the accident may be triggering for some.

"Stealing kisses now, are we?" - Mae

"A man's gotta eat." - Remi

Along with the close proximity, reverse age gap, and sunshine x grump. We have sexual tension galore! I really can't state who falls first because these two are comical! We do get some fun MF action scenes! But be prepared for the edging until the scenes finally happen! I loved the intimacy between the two whether it was NSFW or not. Also, the comedy surrounding the two MCs and their back and forth. Not to mention their terms of endearment for one another! The couple do get an HEA.

So, there were a few things that got me, this is just my personal and honest opinion! You may think otherwise and absolutely love everything about the book! I felt like Mae and an important MC needed more dialogue between the two along with some balance. Sitting down and talking more about certain things that pertain to one of the arcs of the book. A reconciliation that didn't fully bear the weight of one.

There were a couple of scenes that I felt had been rushed. Some of the ending sequences felt abrupt and added in to insure everyone had an HEA. There was a character that you knew from previous chapters and understood was a terrible person felt oversold that they were evil when they got page time.

** This may be a spoiler so feel free to skip but I know it seems cut equally fifty-fifty about this particular trope. Some absolutely loving it and others shutting books because of it. For me it just depends on the author and how the characters are written. I don't normally go out of my way to find this trope. There's a pregnancy HEA and we do get to see and understand childbirth. The MMC being the POV. Just a heads up because I know for some people this is a triggering situation. **

This is just my personal opinion, again you may absolutely love every single part of this book! I did very much enjoy the romance and the refreshing take on the classic trope. Do enjoy the read and don't forget to give the author some stars!

Strap in, folks, because "The Manny" by Nina Bloom is not just another love story—it's the rollercoaster of rom-coms that you never knew you needed. From the get-go, it's clear that Mae, our powerhouse of a protagonist, isn't playing games (unless you count the endless juggling act of work, motherhood, and trying not to fall for the too-hot-to-handle manny). Enter Remi, the manny in question, who’s more cinnamon roll than stern caregiver, with a heart so golden, it practically shines. Their dynamic flips the script on traditional gender roles, and let me tell you, it's as refreshing as a cold lemonade on a scorching summer day.

Bloom manages to stir the pot with a delicious blend of sizzling romance and poignant moments, served with a side of humor so sharp, it could cut. This book is more than just its steamy scenes and witty banter; it's a thoughtful exploration of identity, the challenges of modern parenthood, and the sometimes-blurry lines of professional and personal life. Mae’s battle to keep her company afloat while being a stellar mom is as relatable as accidentally microwaving a spoon—startling, but somehow part of the chaos we navigate. And Remi? He’s the unexpected hero who’s comfortable in his masculinity, whether he's conquering the corporate ladder or conquering hearts with his exceptional nannying skills.

What truly sets "The Manny" apart is its ability to serve laughs and life lessons with equal prowess. As Mae and Remi dance around their undeniable chemistry, we're treated to a masterclass in how to blend humor with heartache, and spicy encounters with sweet revelations. It's like finding a perfectly ripe avocado in the grocery store—a rare delight that makes your day. The supporting cast adds richness to the tale, from the scene-stealing toddler who's as adorable as a kitten video to the best friend everyone needs, offering comic relief and sage advice in equal measure.

In essence, "The Manny" is a love letter to anyone who's ever fought to find balance in the chaos of life, proving that sometimes, the best things come in the most unexpected packages—like a male nanny who might just steal your heart (and help find your lost socks). If you're in search of a read that's as thought-provoking as it is thoroughly entertaining, and as heartwarming as it is hilariously engaging, this book is your ticket. Highly recommend it for a dose of feels, laughs, and perhaps a renewed faith in the power of unconventional love stories.

Role Reversal Trifecta!

Nina Bloom got me again. Completely sucked me into an incredible storyline with wonderful characters I couldn’t get enough of, then threw a serious twist into the mix, made me ugly cry, and by the end of The Manny had me hugging my Kindle at the most beautiful HEA.

I truly loved main characters Mae and Remi from their first foray onto the page. Mae is a strong, independent, no-nonsense heroine cloaking deep vulnerabilities behind a shield of CEO armor. And Remi is a cocky, fun-loving, but intensely dedicated hero working so hard to distance and distinguish himself from his past while building a future full of affection and devotion. Together they uncover so many layers of love, acceptance, healing, and incredible connections. But first, Bloom amps up the angst, making them really work for the relationship they both deserve. Their journey includes some epic banter and humor that had me cracking up long after the scene ended. And this is one seriously steamy couple. They bring the passion and the heat to incredible heights.

Bloom also does a fantastic job of creating a supporting cast of characters you will love as well as some you will most definitely despise. They enhance the plot perfectly, giving insight into Mae and Remy’s lives as well as building the connections between them. Of course the most adorable supporting character ever comes in the form of little Isabel. I dare anyone to not fall in love with her.

The ins and outs of Mae and Remi’s lives as they navigate daily amongst their friends and families creates excellent pacing and depth to the story. And that twist? Yeah, the build-up is subtle, but once it hits, it hits hard. The emotional intensity is solid and strong, cementing the bond between the characters in the story as well as between the characters and Bloom’s readers.

The Manny is a steamy and heartfelt reverse grumpy/sunshine, reverse age gap, role reversal romance I will read again and again.

This is the story of Mae and Remi. Mae is a single mom of an adorable 2 YO. She is also an owner of a marketing company with her best friend Jay. Mae is in desperate need of help with her young daughter and she goes through an agency to get a male nanny. Her immediate attraction to him causes her to dismiss him almost immediately, but she soon realized he is her best and only options so she fights her growing feeling toward him in the best interest of her daughter…. There is a firm rule against a relationship between the two, but when their attraction to each other continues to grow, they have some important decisions to make.

I loved this book, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it, but I actually loved it. It’s angsty, its has family drama, it has a believable will they or won’t they with a should they element. It also has that forbidden element of employer and employee and a rule that puts his job at risk. To top it all off, it has the most adorable toddler ever!! It is well worth the read, I found my self wanting more story, not that the story wasn’t complete, but to give me more story with Remi and Mae because they seemed so great once they got it together. Remi is a fantastic book boyfriend and his attraction to Mae is completely believable. Even though it was an “age gap” the real issues between them had more to do with other relatable roadblocks that the author does a great job of laying out and making you want them to make it work. There was also a twist I didn’t quite see coming that brought everyone together in the best, although emotional, way. Great story, I highly recommend it!.

The Manny is a standalone contemporary romance by Nina Bloom. It is also the first book in Bloom's new series, Men At Work. I was intrigued by this book because it does a few tropes in reverse to what we usually get as romance readers: 1) A manny and a single mum, 2) grumpy woman and sunshine man, and, 3) older woman and younger guy age gap (about 12 years, I think).

Mae is the single mum of this story. She is a woman with a high powered and high stress career, but she is passionate about her work. She is a single mum thanks to her cheating ex, but she adores her daughter. However, she does need help juggling both motherhood and her high powered career. That's when Remi comes into her life, he's a manny who comes from a complex family. He works for his sister's agency, and both are no contact with their parents for reasons that become more than clear, particularly at the end of the book.

Romance starts to build as Remi and Mae get to know each. Remi becomes an important part of her daughter's life. Mae and Remi make so much sense together, but there is the angst of the age gap and the forbidden romance with the boss that fuels the first half of the book. And while there is no third act break up there is plenty of drama that meant that I just had to keep reading. After all those emotional ups and downs, I found the ending was just perfect.

I was sliding into a major book slump when this story arrived and it yanked me right out. From page one, I was pulled right into Mae's world. She's a strong woman trying to do it all--be a good mother, run her corporation and succeed in a man's world. I related to her and cheered for her throughout the whole book. When she hires Remi to care for her daughter, albeit reluctantly, this sweet cinnamon roll brings everything that she's been missing. I love a reverse grumpy sunshine and Remi was definitely the light to Mae's darkness. He encouraged and supported her while also being strong in exactly the ways she needed. Their chemistry was intense and once they got on the same page, things got hot, hot, hot! I loved everything about this story! It was such an emotional journey and Nina Bloom gives you the ultimate highs and lowest lows. There's angst, suspense and laugh-out-loud moments. Remi, Mae and Isabel were an absolute delight and Nina has a true talent when it comes to writing emotional depth. Highly recommend!

Mae is a single mom working in a male dominated corporate world. She is striving to make it to the level where she can give her young daughter, Isabel, everything that she didn't have growing up. She is trying to do it all and keep the company she founded with her best friend, Jay. She hires Remington aka Remi aka "the HOT manny" to take care of Isabel. Problem is that the younger, hot manny is a flirt with a heart of gold, can cook, and gives pleasure on command. This is a reverse grumpy sunshine story that will melt your heart and your kindle not to mention the tears that will be shed at the journey these characters embark on together and apart. It is about found family, letting go of the unrealistic pressures that we put on ourselves and finding love when you least expect it and with the most unlikely person.
I love this story so much and look forward to the future books in the Men at Work series.

This is not your typical nanny romance and I love that about it! This book is So. Much. More! Mae needed a nanny but what she got was a man who could not only take care of her daughter but her own needs, too ;) There’s lots of yummy slow-burn tension that builds into the best possible eruption of emotions. They litter every page and keep you glued to the story. Not only that, but the skillful weaving in of a suspense plot keeps you waiting for the other show to drop. Because you know someone is after this family you’ve fallen in love with, you just don’t know who. When things are revealed, it’s both heart-crushing and heart-warming as tragedy brings Mae and Remi closer than ever. I could read this book over and over and never tire of that hard-won, perfect happy ever after.

Nina Bloom has once again delivered an amazing read! A story full of romance, raw emotion, angst, and humor, I fell in love with it from the start. With a strong, relatable heroine and a can-I-steal-him-off-the-page-please cinnamon roll hero, this book takes you on a journey through real life situations that touch your heart and fuel your fantasies.

It was heart-warming to witness the connections among the characters, both between Mae and Remi, as well as their friends and families. The steamy scenes were hot and had a little role reversal, which was a nice change from the typical.

There’s a touch of suspense and a scene-stealing toddler who really doesn’t like the Hulk—in the funniest way! (Read the book, you’ll get what I mean.) But, for me, Remi wins VIP. That man … le sigh!

I really enjoyed this story about a busy driven woman who happens to also love her child but because she is busy she needs help. So she hires a nanny that happens to be a manny. And Remi is the perfect caregiver for her beloved daughter Isabel. It turns out that Remi is hot and not just Isabel likes Remi a lot. We often read stories like this with the roles reversed and what I thought was good was that these folks were who they were, no apologies. She was a busy successful woman running a business and he was comfortable in his role as caregiver at working at home with someone else's child. And it was cool to see this pair cross the divide and become a winning team!.

I was afraid I had gotten a book I wouldn’t like. I’m not one for reverse. And I missed that when looking for something to read. This is not your typical nanny romance but I enjoyed it and I think I misunderstood. The story stars Remi and Mae. Mae is desperate for a nanny to look after her daughter but she got a man who could not only take care of her daughter but her as well. The story is quite compelling especially when danger ensues. I couldn’t put it down. I am sorry for the delay - I fell after a knee replacement and also fractured my wrist and it’s been too painful to type.

Romcom. I absolutely LOVED this book! It was HILARIOUS!! I could not stop laughing. I was hooked from the beginning to the very end. The slow burn was definitely slow burning, I wanted them to bang it out since chapter 3! Their chemistry was so on point.. Mae's thoughts were everything. I am her, she is me. Who doesn't want to stab someone with a fork every now and then. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves; heavy banter, reverse age gap, grumpy sunshine, golden retriever mc, single mom, boss lady.

This book was really good. I loved how they balance each other out. How Isabel just took to Remi and vice versa. Someone that is not only HOT but is good with your child and actually cares for them is such a big deal. I love the teasing throughout this book with siblings, best friends and our leads. The different climaxes throughout keep this pair constantly finding themselves being their for each other and strengthening the bond. I say grab this book up and get to reading!.
