Growing up in poverty, Sunny never expected anything good from life. However, even he did not anticipate being chosen by the Nightmare Spell and becoming one of the Awakened - an elite group of people gifted with supernatural powers. Transported into a ruined magical world, he found himself facing against terrible monsters - and other Awakened - in a deadly battle of survival. What's worse, the divine power he received happened to possess a small, but potentially fatal side effect...
This volume runs from chapter 1061 to 1230 and concludes an epic Antarctica arc. It was absolutely incredible to read this Antarctica arc. It was packed with emotions and epic scenes, as well as some desperate moments, and it also featured some of the most insane battles I've ever read. I thought the epic scenes of this arc had already ended in volume 5, but I was very wrong because this volume showed that there was still much more to deliver than I had already read. In this volume, we saw the protagonist Sunny dealing with one of the greatest threats to date, as well as his allies who also faced daunting challenges. Each had their moment to shine, but the highlight goes to Sunny, who gave his all to help in this colossal battle that was taking place. I still don't know if I liked volume 5 or this volume 6 more because volume 5 traumatized me a lot in terms of how much shit happened in the story. This volume also had its moments, but I still don't know if they compare to the previous volume. However, the ending of this one promises a grand journey for our protagonists that could end up revealing itself very deadly, and I hope that now they are united more than ever to be able to face what is to come. Overall, I liked the development of the story, the development of the characters, I really liked the battle scenes in this volume and especially the cliffhanger at the end. As I said in the previous volume, I say again, this work is becoming one of the best things I've ever read, and this author is becoming an all-time favorite of mine. For those who haven't read it yet because of the number of chapters, I ask that you give it a chance; you won't regret it. Shadow Slave is a fantastic work that deserves much more recognition.
Short but meaningful, 'All the Devils Are Here' is a great 5.5 and thus continuation but simultaneously a grand set-up for the Third Nightmare. Sunny is once again powerless to stop the Spell and begins to grasp onto Nephis's ambitions and his true convictions in the matter. All character's had their time and suffered their losses or experienced a realisation. A worthy climax and smooth transition into the Nightmare Desert, perhaps Nether's Citadel in the Hollow Mountains shall be next? I absolutely loved Antarctica, definitely my second favourite saga in the series. Also that last page for c. 1230? I just know the next book is going to be a mind fuck and a half.
Good volume but the least fav bc the plot wasn’t moving forward that much, it was mostly about war between Valor and Song clans. I loved the fights though as well as how close Jet got to the group and now that they are entering the 3rd nightmare and with all the spoilers I know, i am both excited and scared at the same time.
Also, what do you mean “welcome 13 million ascended”?????????
Love this Volume. In all honesty probably my least favorite Volume of the story but still is amazing. So I guess that shows how much I love the series. Seeing Sunny and Nephis kill a Saint was pretty awesome as well.

This is an interesting one… I absolutely loved the character development that we saw during this volume. It was extremely gratifying seeing the impact of the previous volume as well as the increase in both strength and responsibility Sunny takes on. My biggest gripe is that this volume seems to be solely setup for the next (which I am extremely excited for by the way). I did love the Battle of Black Skull and Sunny’s collaboration with Nephis, but the final portion of the volume lost momentum, making it somewhat boring. However, now that the Third Nightmare approaches (especially with the cliffhanger) I do not doubt that it will pick back up.
