Four individual tales highlighting some of the Pony's favorite friends–the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Princess Celestia, Spike, and Princess Luna! Collects the My Little Pony Micro-Series issues #7–10.
This volume consists of four comics, each one spotlighting on a different character. This book spotlights on The Cutie Mark Crusaders, Princess Celestia, Spike and Princess Luna (in that order). I will reviewing each one in the order that I liked them (from least to most).
Spike: Poor Spike, the writers in the show don't give him enough of a good storyline and every time he does make character growth its non existent in another episode. The story was kinda boring and ho hum. It reminded me of the episode with Pee Wee when he took Pee Wee and raised him. It left nothing new. So sad
The Cutie Mark Crusaders (CMC): When I first starting watching I didn’t like the CMC. They seemed annoying. But now I love each one. In this story the girls run across a creature that can turn into anything its wants to and once it turns into the right thing it can choose to stay like that forever. (Kinda sorta simliar to a cutie mark). The girls learn a valuable lesson in the fact that you can't make others into what you want them to be and to not use others.
Princess Luna: Luna is by far my favorite Princess and one of my favorite ponies. In this story she trades places with her sister to run the day and it turns out how not she expected. It was interesting to see more of her personality it was a shame that they made her treat others with such little care. In the Nightmare Night episode all she cared about was what others thought, but that was not the case here. (Still love Luna)
Princess Celestia: Celestia is my least liked princess. She always seems kinda stuck up, too regal for her own good and kinda a troll. But this comic changed how I viewed her. It was by far my favorite MLP comic period. I can't into too many details without spoiling it, but it gave me a new respect for her and made me care for her more. The comic itself was full of cameos in the background and even right up front. The ones that stuck out were Chef Gordon Ramsay, Hughie Dewie and Louie. But there were others as well. This comic was great and I’m glad I gave it a chance.
Overall, if you are a MLP fan then its a great book. Otherwise its still a great story.
Featuring 4 stories, one for the Cutie Mark Crusaders, one for Princess Celestia, one for Spike and one for Princess Luna.
I loved Celestia's and the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Spike seems to get the short stick in a way and Luna's just felt a little off to me, but I still liked them.
Cute, funny, good messages. Not much to say otherwise.
Luna's story is a-ma-zing. It's perfect because it has a great moral for the intended target audience that isn't delivered too heave-handedly but it has also great background-jokes for those readers that are *cough* a bit older. The other stories...well I never cared about the CMC and their story did not change this. Just like in every episode they learn the lesson 'you can't rush growing up'. Yawn. Spike also suffers from 'learning the same lesson over and over again'-syndrome. In his case it was at least slightly more entertaining than with the CMC. Celestia's story was...fine. Nothing special but still fun.
It was amazing! They are so much fun and all the Harry Potter ponies in the background were just fun to spot. All four stories were good, both Princess Celestia's was the best one by far!
This had four great short stories. They centered on the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Princess Celestia, Spike, and Princess Luna. I had a ton of fun reading this one and totally enjoyed all the story’s.
I didn't like this one quite as well as some of the other comics. It was fairly short, with only 4 stories. The first story was particularly weak, featuring the Cutie Mark Crusaders. The artwork looked rough and unfinished, and the moral was a little heavy-handed.
Otherwise each story centered around a single character: Celestia (my favorite story), Spike and Luna. These stories were entertaining enough, but there was very little interaction with other familiar characters and I think that was what made them weaker than other comics (for example the Friends Forever series).
After the Luna story, there was a 2-page prequel. Even though I prefer the other series, I plan to read more from Pony Tales.
This second volume of the My Little Pony Tales series features stories starring Celestia, Spike, Luna, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I loved all the stories in this book equally and found them all funny and full of heart. Another must have to any My Little Pony fans of all ages.
I loved this one because of the different focuses put onto each character. My favourite story was probably Princess Luna's or Spike's. Definitely read this if you love MLP:FIM.
Harry Potter ponies in background! All four stories were good, Celestia and Luna's stories were my favorites. This volume was more juvenile than Friendship is Magic series.
