Five beautifully written short stories. My favorite was "The Brooch: A Magic Within." Absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed spending time in the stories and the characters.
The stories were slightly heartbreaking yet inspiring all the same.
It's a short, quick read, but it's definitely one that will move you.
Very short and kind of about three different things that don’t really make any sense together or maybe they’re just wasn’t enough information for it to make sense but it wasn’t terrible
A beautiful collection of short stories from the author's perspectives and experiences. Beautifully written with a world view and unique themes. The stories start out strong, pulling you forward and wanting to keep reading. By the time I had reached the last short story, my pace was definitely slower, but the reads were still enjoyable. I especially loved the haunting quality of Dead Dreams which sucked me right in and had me pushing through quickly to A Father's Son and The Brooch: A Magic Within. Overall, a strong offering with nice imagery and thought-provoking topics that may make you reconsider or expand your beliefs.
Dead Dreams is a collection of five short stories, each with a different theme. The first three stories kept my interest and even left me wanting more as one of them ended in a bit of a cliffhanger. The last two short stories were okay but I found my thoughts wandering and really struggled to keep up with the plot in the final story. I could see the first three stories expanding into full fledge chapter books if the author decides to go that route. I read this book in about three hours, so it was a nice way to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon. I did find quite a number of editorial oversights, so a bit of cleanup is needed in that area. Overall, this was an okay book.
One writer’s interesting perspective on some very human circumstances. Sandeep Kumar Mishra’s reflections on broad subjects like words not said, gifts passed forward, and acts of kindness, and how these global concepts can allow us to change, or maybe imprison us, defining who we really are. Do these challenges offer us an opportunity for growth or do they limit us for a lifetime. Very simple stories, but with a little contemplation on the readers part, much, much more. I enjoyed these short stories.
Dead Dreams by Sandeep Kumar Mishra is a wonderful collection of short stories, each containing various themes. There is something for everyone: soul-searching over the past, battling inner demons, complexities of love, lessons on friendship and humanity. I enjoyed each tale and yearned to read more, only for it to end…but in a good way. Each segment is heartfelt and reflects the author’s innermost thoughts. An enjoyable and emotional read. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
“Dead Dreams” is a collection of five beautifully written short stories. “The Brooch” includes spiritual and magical elements and renews your faith in humanity. “A Father’s Son” addresses anger, rejection, and familial bonds. Each storyline is a unique, captivating page-turner. This book embodies the essence of heartfelt storytelling, ensuring a riveting reading experience. I highly recommend reading this book!
I received a digital copy of this book for review purposes through Goodreads giveaway program.
This is a small collection of short stories that clearly have interesting ideas behind them, but the prose is clumsy and clearly needed more editing before being released as a final product.
5 short stories of all different varieties. Some I enjoyed more than other, but I think the variety was good. There is something for everyone in this book.
I appreciate receiving this book in a Goodreads giveaway and having the opportunity to read and review it.
I did enjoy the stories, but I kinda expected all the stories to be tied with dreams from the title--only the 1st story had dreams. Each story had its own message, but 2 of them I felt needed more explanation, so I was left unsatisfied with the endings.
This book is great because it’s actually a series of 5 shorter stories. Sometimes it’s nice not to allot a lot of time for reading so short stories are perfect for that. These are a little darker and heavy but have a morale to them. Enjoy the read.
