Even if it means returning to the family I left.

Norah Bishop
All I've ever wanted was to be a scientist like my dad.
But I stumbled into something I shouldn't have.
Now, the biggest criminal in Chicago is coming for me.
And the only person who can help me is his brother...my new professor.

"I want him to notice me. I want him to be proud of me when I know the answer to whatever question he's posed. Every time he praises me, I want to preen like a proud little hen showing off her eggs."

I always mentally know that I absolutely adore Nichole Rose reads but I always seem to forget how much until I pick something up from her again.

This was AMAZING. I LOVED it. There isn't a whole lot of classroom stuff for a student/teacher romance but she made that not even matter to me, their roles were clearly defined.

Norah was head over heels for Nico, the handsome teacher and went to him for help when she was sure she was going to die. The moment she showed up on his doorstep, he couldn't hide his feeling for her any longer. He had planned to make her his after the semester anyway, she just pushed up the timeline.

Norah is a bit of a sassy and headstrong heroine which normally isn't really my jam but she had just enough vulnerability for me to keep her from being annoying.

Besides it being a great and steamy romance, the story was just really good and interesting. I don't think Ms. Rose has released the Rafe and Amalia book yet but I am chomping at the bit to get it!

The ONLY thing I was a little disappointed with was that he was pretty experienced and sure of himself for a virgin. I like my male virgin's to be a little bit more timid, unsure, or just kind of enthralled with their first sexual encounter. Nico didn't seem too fazed by it except for the fact that it was with Norah. However, because everything else in the book was so amazing, it didn't even really detract for me, it's just something that I noted.

An amazing read that I highly recommend.

Read 2: Still amazing. It’s been a minute since I’ve read any Nichole Rose and I have to ask myself why? She writes the kind of possessive, head over heels heroes that I love. I remembered this book existed a few weeks ago and decided to give it another read. I wish there was a little tension and build up in the classroom but you can’t get everything into a novella. Still highly recommend.

Fast pace and some yummy forbiddenish..

Norha has been crushing on Nico her new professor for the last few weeks but doesn't do nothing but pin knowing he won't see her in that light but when she gets involved in something because she seen Nicos Brother kill someone she runs to him.. little did Norha know Nico has also been having feelings but hasn't pushes until now. He's going to keep his girl safe even if it means going back to the mob family he left behind.

We see the two get cute together and Nico talks to his brother warning him not to touch his woman. We get some side charas

No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, tiny drama, Sexy times, both are virgins (H Said he didn't wanna bang anyone he waited)

3.5 stars.
This was really sweet and passionate.
I really liked both of these characters.
The sex between them is hot and loving.

This is a double virgin, age gap, professor/student, insta-love romance with just a hint of mafia running through the background.

There’s a forbidden, dangerous aspect to their relationship, but that danger doesn’t really turn into much of anything.

Which is why my rating is what it is.
I really enjoyed it.
But there wasn’t much to it.

Which is totally fine. It was exactly what I wanted while I’m between bigger, more complex storylines.

It was mostly just their relationship falling into place, and sex.
And it did that very satisfyingly.

I’m interested to see if we get Rafe’s story sometime down the line.

Either way, I had a really good time reading it. It was just easy.
And that epilogue was just about the sweetest, cutest thing I’ve ever read…and then it got hot again.

I just love this author’s books.
They’re short, but they’re packed full of one of my favorite types of men. The growly, over the top, instantaneously loving, dominant guys who will do anything to keep their women happy and healthy. And they always have a good HEA to leave my insides feeling all gooey.

I can’t wait to see what the next one brings. I’ve already got my eye on it.

Without her, I have nothing, I am nothing.

First, I just have to say that this is my favorite Nichole Rose book to date. This one is definitely going on my top faves of 2021. I loved both main characters. Loved her quirkiness and his complete love and devotion for her. You can really feel the emotions from both throughout the whole story. They are each other's one and only, no abuse, no OM/OW drama, lovely epilogue at 5 years. And let me just add that I really really hope there will be a story on the H's brother Rafe and I hope he's not a MW and is as loving and loyal as his brother was in this one.

This was a sweet and steamy as heck story. Norah and Nico had a crush on each other for 6 weeks. He is her professor and totally off limits. 😉 A fateful night changed everything and Norah needs Nicos help. Insta love, sweet, steamy, totally safe (DV😍😍😍) with a sweet HEA. I really hope we get the brothers story as well👍👍 Loved the mafia brother and their relationship 😊😊😊

The couple: Nico and Norah

Romance genre: Teacher/student; mafia-lite
Series: Love 101
Length: 119 pages

Plot: Norah is an extremely bright young college student, a scientist in training. Her professor is Nico Valentino, twin brother to a local mafia don. This is a problem, as Norah just saw his brother, Rafe, murder someone, and Rafe knows who she is and that she saw. She runs to Nico for help, and he definitely helps her. In doing so, he helps himself and his family as well. The two of them will come to find that they are very well suited indeed.

Commentary: This is a very sweet, dual-virgin, no cheating, HEA story. There's plenty of humor as well, which is a nice contrast to the seriousness of the mafia angle. Norah is a bit of a mess sometimes - impulsive, curious to a fault, and unaware or uncaring of any danger. She desperately needs someone like Nico to look after her without restraining her, and he does the job admirably. In return, he gains someone who trusts him and looks up to him without reservations, someone who cares about his past and his family insomuch as it affects him, but isn't afraid of him and doesn't look down on him because of it.

One of my favorite quotes from the story:
He's my professor here as much as he is in the classroom. Maybe that makes me bad, but I don't feel bad. When he calls me little girl, I feel...powerful. Like the most important woman in the world to him. He doesn't just want to sleep with me, he wants to protect me, care for me. And maybe, someday, even love me.

I love this because it's a definite nod to the idea that we like what we like, and there's nothing wrong with that! Also, there isn't as much of a power imbalance here as it might seem from the outside.

Next book in the series: Basic Business by Melissa Williams

When I take my lastbreath,it'll be her face I see, her voice I hear, her arms I fall into/

I really love this series.

I’m not sure how I skipped over this first book, and read the others, but of course it did not disappoint. Nico and Norah have instant chemistry and it’s very evident in how they are around one another. All of the insta love feels with a hint of danger.

4.5 stars but rounded up. This is the third book I've read from Nicole and it's definitely my favorite. Once I picked it up and started reading it, I couldn't put it down and finished it in one sitting. Which is kinda difficult for me sometimes so it's a testament to how much I liked it. I think Norah and Nico are perfect for each other and kinda balance each other out.

I'm a sucker for dual virgins and this one definitely ticked that box. I just love it when the hero wants to wait for his one, it just makes the bond between the two characters more special since the girl is, most of the time, a virgin.
Side rant lol. I've been reading books for a while and I've noticed that authors and readers care more about the females virginity than the males. Why is that? I'm not judging, I've just never got it. Males tend to be more promiscuous in books. The more books I've read, the more I've steered away from books where the female is a virgin and the male isn't. I just can't read anymore books that are like that, I'm burnt out on those lol. I only read books that are dual virgins or no virgins. Maybe if someone explained why authors write about virgin females all the time I might be able to get it. Anywho, rant over lol.

None of that involves this book, I just let my mind wonder there a bit lol. This book was awesome and I'm really diggin the author. Will definitely read more from her.

This was an alright read. This is book 10 of the Love 101 series. The story is a student-teacher romance. The story is about a romance between Nico, the teacher, and Norah, the student. I thought the story was quite boring at times. I thought it was not as good as other student-teacher romance books that I have read. My favourite part of the story was the characters. I thought that they were really intriguing. However, the story could have been longer in order to make it flow much better and not abruptly like it did. Nico is a astrophysicist, while Norah is a student in one of his courses. I thought their attraction to each other was sweet. I did think Norah was a bit naive as she is just 18-years-old, and a daughter of an astrophysicist. The ending was rushed. I wish I could have been the proposal and how the wedding turned out and how life changed after having their first child. I think it would have made me rate this book higher if there was more of a story to it. I can't wait to read book 11 of the Love 101 series even though they are short. Overall, an okay read.

This didn't work for me. The story was okay, I guess, but the ending provoked some bad feelings inside me. The hero was around 30, heroine 18. So epilogue is 5 years later, which means that the heroine is 23. At that age she already has 4 children. Four. I'll be 23 in a few months and I can't imagine having 1 child, let alone 4. But that's me, and everyone is different. But my problem here is that he's 10 years older than her, so he's had time to experience world and get to know himself and become his own person, but what about her? At 23, she has 4 lives to think about, 4 little people to take care of and raise. She's also studying on top of that. I felt so sorry for her. And the way that the epilogue was written didn't help the situation. It's in hero's POV, and he's like 'she's a mother, wife, scientist and friend, she never complains and she does everything with a smile on her face, and I don't mind helping her around'. As if he's doing her a favor for sometimes taking care of their, HIS and hers, children. He gave me Andrew Tate and those alpha male podcasts vibes. A few days before reading this, I came across a story about a young girl who married an older guy, with whom she had a few children. And she talked about feeling unhappy and trapped and never being able to experience and enjoy her youth. And that really reminded me of this story. And I also know this girl who at 23, has 2 children. I know that she loves and adores them, but I also see how unhappy she is, and how much stuff she's missing out on. And I don't necessarily mean dating or something like that, but the freedom to do whatever she likes whenever she likes. Because I feel that when you have kids your life is not only your anymore, you're not the most important.
I don't like epilogues with a bunch of children in general (even though most epilogues are like that, especially in novellas), but I can't not read it because I'd feel like I haven't read the whole story. And most of the times, I don't like it, but I'm not against it. Whatever makes them happy. But this I just can't support. She had 4 children in 5 years since she was 18, and the father is 30. I just can't.

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.

There is a lot of love in this story, love between Nico our hero and Norah the heroine, between Nico and his twin Rafe and his younger brothers. There is a lot of sacrificing for love by all characters too. Nico’s family is mob royalty, but he turned his back on that way of life, he is an academic and he wants nothing to do with the mob. Especially since it was his father’s dealings that got their mother killed in front of him and Rafe. He leaves at 18 and asks his brothers to come with him but they refuse and stay with their father. Rafe takes over as the mob boss when their father dies.
Norah is a student who is brilliant and very curious, which gets her into trouble at times. Wanting to know what is in a warehouse near the waterfront she breaks in, hearing arguing she investigates and sees Rafe shooting a man. Unfortunately she makes noise and he sees her. She has been hiding out in her car for days and is scared and exhausted. She heads to her professors house to ask for help. Her professor is Rafe’s brother, Nico! The two are very attracted to each other but Nico tries to keep his distance since she is his student. But when he finds out she’s in trouble, all bets are off. He claims her as his, dual virgins, and their first time together is super sexy and hot.
To ensure her safety he goes to Rafe, who wants his brother back, Nico tells him if he leaves Norah alone he will come back to the family. Norah sneaks away to see Rafe to tell him she will never say a word about what she saw and will even leave town, she asks him to leave Nico alone. But while talking to him she figures out he stayed with the father so Nico could leave. He sacrificed himself for Nico. It all works out in the end, he tells them both they are free, he won’t kill Norah. Epilogue with them married and with kids. There is a side story with Rafe’s love interest, at the end of the story he’s a broken man because he thinks his love will betray him to the FBI, we have to wait for his story. Downloadable bonus scene where Norah goes to talk to Rafe.

I feel bad giving this a 2 stars. I love this author and as always this was well written with likable characters. This has high ratings but for me it was boring. A large portion of this book they’re in bed which normally I have no problem with. I love a sex heavy story as long as the characters connection has been well established and there’s a discernible storyline beyond the sex. This book had a storyline, I felt their connection, I was interested but it felt like the sex was so wordy and not in a good way. It was like in school when you had to write a story that was a specific number of words and you’ve already finished the story and everything that you needed to say has been said but you have another thousand words so you start shoving in extra descriptors everywhere trying to get your word count. Every sex scene was less sex and more pondering….how will I go on without you, comparing each other to creation and heaven and hell, thinking if their past and future, getting poetic with their thoughts and feeling….it just started to feel like blah, blah, blah. I could have used way less of that and more outside the bedroom and outside their heads. Nora sneaks out to see the brother to save her man’s soul and then we never get to read what happens during that meeting. Nora drops the class so they can be together but we never get to see the fallout of the school finding out they’re a couple. We don’t know if he continues to teach or what he does next. We know he reconciles with his brothers but we don’t see any of it. Honestly this book is almost completely the inner dialogue of the two main characters and them thinking about stuff that happened but we don’t get to experience any of it while it’s happening. As I’m writing this I’m feeling more and more certain of my two star rating….but I still feel bad about it.

OMG!! Nice, quick read, Short and Sweet. With a wonderful HEA!!

Nico is a visiting professor at Northwestern, Norah is a student and is taking his class. Norah sit in the front row and challenges Nico on things she doesn't agree with. Now Norah has seen something Nico's brother Rafael has done, and she is afraid for her life. Norah hides out for two days before running to Nico. Now Nico must meet with the brother he hasn't seen in nearly twenty years to protect Norah. Rafael will spare Norah's life if Nico comes back and joins the family he disowned twenty years ago. Nico knows what he has to do, it's not a decision he even has to make. Nico must tell Norah the decision he has made, he knows she will not accept him going back to his families business. Norah knows she must sneak out to meet Rafael, Nico won't let her. Nico wakes up to find Norah gone, he knows there is only one place she went to meet his brother. Nico goes to find Norah and discovers his brothers empire is falling, Rafael's girlfriend now hold everything in her hands. Wrecked. Nico is no longer owing his life to his brother. Norah has also made some decision on her own that will not only affect her life but Nico's as well. They have a wonderful HEA!

This was so much more than just a student/teacher romance. Nico had made a name for himself in the scientific and academic community. One that is completely separate from his family's reputation. Never before was he tempted to throw it all away. Never, until Norah walks into his classroom and steals his heart. Not only is she his student but she is brilliant to boot. Sweet and quirky, she is perfect for him in every way. When she comes to him for help, it was a sign. Now he will move heaven and earth for her. This was so romantic, I just wanted to stay there and keep all those warm and fuzzy feelings clutched to my chest. Ms Rose always gives her characters a deeper connection. They bond together as a couple beyond the physical with shared ideals, passions, or admiration. Nico and Norah share all of that and it was completely swoonworthy. I have my fingers crossed that we see a story for Nico's twin Rafe very soon! 6 stars for Physical Science.

Eh, this was okay, but the age gap did bother me a lot (18/38). I know this is a professor-student book, but I still didn't expect her to be that young. Anyway, it was still good, and the smut is hot. 🤭

Norah has been in Nico's class for six weeks, and the attraction is mutual for them. Anyway, she saw Nico's twin kill someone. So she went to Nico to ask for help and maybe a bit of protection because his brother is a ruthless criminal (or so they say). When Nico took her and let her stay in his apartment, obviously, things got heated, and before they knew it, they'd been confessing their love for one another.

Nothing much really happens in this novella. Rafe, the twin brother, didn't hurt them. And Nico and Norah decided to finally be together. But if readers want to pass some time, this would be a good story.

Nico Valentino was raised by a mob boss and as the oldest it was expected he would take over for his father. It was never something he wanted, he father threw him out at eighteen, he rarely sees his brothers. He is astrophysicist, a professor at a college. He has never had any attraction to a student until Norah Bishop walked into his lecture hall.

Norah has always wanted to be a scientist, Professor Valentino is her idol, but she also has the hots for him. She seeks out his help when she witnesses his twin brother commit a murder, figuring he is the best person to help her.

Most of Nichole's leading men are over the top alphas, even the nerds, Nico is no different. He is willing to risk his career for the sake of protecting his lady. This student-teacher relationship is extra steamy.

Norah and Nico

Norah is terrified, exhausted and tired when she ends up on the doorstep of her professor. Witnessing a murder she goes to the one person she thinks can help her. Nico, is a professor and Norah is his student. All he knows of her is that she is the most intelligent woman in his class, he is attracted to her, but he is her professor! When Norah confides why she was on the run he is stunned! Far from being nothing to do with him; it's everything to do with his family!

Prepare yourself for an intense, emotional and passionate story! You will LOVE this! Plenty of chemistry, plenty of passion, danger, secrets, loyalty, love and commitment. The story is well written, fast paced! I was completely HOOKED! Told from dual POVs reveals intimately their thoughts, feelings, and emotions as they explore their relationship. There's an epilogue and a HEA 💓

Hot Nerdy Love♥️

If there is one thing I know about Nichole Rose it’s that when she does curvy girl age-gap romance she’s going to do it right! Nico & Norah were such a funny couple and it didn’t hurt that they were so hot for each other they caught my kindle on fire during certain scenes.

I love how intelligent both of them were, but Nico was still so in awe of how his woman was so amazing. If you are looking for something that moves quickly and has the characters falling for each other in the insta love way this book is for you. There was some family drama, but not as much as I was expecting. I hope we get to see more about Nico’s brothers and how they mend their family because I am very intrigued. The ending was so satisfying and gave us the HEA a couple years out!

A beautiful love story

There's a lot of self-sacrificing for love in this book. Nico is a professor who Norah really wanted to attend his seminar. To attend you were required to write a paper on his field and she was accepted, the only freshman. He was so impressed with her and ended up falling in love. One night she was investigating something at the docks and witnessed his twin brother kill another man. She want on the run and ended up with Nico. His brothers are the Mafia of Chicago, he was disowned by their father and he left. This problem brought them all back together after a lot of controversy. You'll have to read it to see what I meant by self-sacrificing for love. It's such a good book!! I hope you enjoy it too. :)

I wanted SO bad to love this one. Nichole has such a fun, amazing and creative writing style but this one was just okay for me. Norah is running from Nico's brother, who is a mob boss that shot someone in front of her. He happens to be her professor and has separated himself from his family due to their illegal activities. I think there was plenty of heat and insta love between these two and if you love the student/teacher trope, you will really like this one. Minimal drama between these two but some suspense and action. I think it left me with more questions about Nico's brothers than anything. It is a short, enjoyable read if you are in the mood for something quick.

Sweet and loving Professor and student romance.

I really liked this story. It was an entertaining and enjoyable Professor and student romance. The characters were interesting and likable although I am torn on Rafael. If he has a book I will have to check it out. Norah had a curious mind that managed to get her into trouble. She knew she needed help but didn’t know where to go. Even after she gets to the place she decided on, she was still not sure about her decision. Nico was Norah’s Professor but also the only person she thought that might help her. Both of them had spent weeks together in class without anything untoward happening but that was about to change. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

This story hit all my favorite book buttons…Age Gap, Forbidden Love, Suspense, Spunky, Smarty Pants, Heroine, Alpha (omg hot) Hero. Added bonus, Alpha (omg hot) Hero also has nerdy tendencies, being an astrophysicist and Nora’s professor and all. Norah and Nico’s chemistry was off the charts from the moment Nico opens his front door to her. The $exy times are steamy and sweet. Their love is captivating and the family sacrifices Nico is willing to make to keep Norah safe are poignant and heart-aching.
I adored this book and I’m a fan-for-life of Nichole Rose’s stories. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Norah gets herself into a very dangerous situation and she goes to the one person she wants to help her the most… her professor!

Nico has wanted Norah from the very first moment he saw her. She may be young but she’s very intelligent and he thinks she’s the most beautiful woman. When Norah tells him why she ran, he wastes no time claiming her and making her his. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even if it’s a deal with the Devil.

Unbeknownst to him, Norah is willing to do the same. The chemistry between these two heats up and it was perfect!!!

The epilogue had my heart melting! Love love love Nico and Norah’s story!

Nico is from a mafia family but turned his back on them to have a life in academia. His first day with his new students, Norah, catches his attention. He's twice her age but she's smart beyond her years. Norah is in love with her professor but there is no way he would ever look at her until she witnesses something she shouldn't and she turns to Nico for help. Now they have to decide which path to take to save both their lives.

Super hot nerdy old man and a curvy sweet young women. I would high recommend this quick read!

This was the most amazing story. You have Norah and Nico, student and Professor, who are instantly attracted to each other. Nico has been in love with Norah since she came into his classroom and he's been trying to wait until she's not his student anymore. Norah has loved Nico since the beginning of taking his class. These two were TNT together. They are both willing to go to bat for the other one. The only drama is with Nico's family and I'd love to hear how they mend their family and find the love that Nico and Norah have found. The ending was perfect. vulnerable

At one during this book, Norah (the female MC) describes Nico’s (male MC) balls as “vulnerable”. How he was so different from her because her most sensitive parts were inside her while his just hung out under him. Don’t really think I ever really moved past that. In fact, I’m still laughing at this minute.

This was cute, full of love decelerations and life-altering emotions of people who’ve known each other a month and a half.

I did really like how the scientist thing kept coming back in to play through actual scientific terminology and knowledge but also because of how inquisitive Norah was fundamentally. That’s good consistency.

All around okay read.
