The story follows Canadian Intelligence Services operative Jack Storm, who is involved in the protection of the President of the USA on a visit to Canada. This is a high-risk mission: The plot is a tense rollercoaster of covert operations, betrayals, and life-threatening situations that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. It appears that some US Defence contractors and Weapons dealers are intent on furthering their causes whatever that takes.

From the get go we find Jack attracting the sort of attention we’re used to seeing him with. This time it’s on Canadian soil. All is not well and Jack believes the President in danger? Jack has to find the truth and he’s being aided by operatives from the CIA and FBI or is he? In his attempts to discover who is behind the plot when everyone doesn’t believe him, we see Jack team up with Bronia (Russia SRV) yet again and in essence goes rouge.

As always Ethan does a solid job with world-building, effectively conveying a sense of danger in a volatile geopolitical landscape. The pacing is quick, with each chapter building tension and moving the story forward. The action sequences are sharp and dynamic, with the stakes constantly being raised as the mission becomes more complex.

Jack Storm is the kind of tough, resourceful hero you’d expect from a thriller like this. He’s not invincible, but he’s highly skilled and has a strong moral compass, which makes him easy to root for. The supporting characters are good but don't get as quite much development as Jack, though they certainly serve their purpose in advancing the plot.

Overall, Presidential Extraction is a very enjoyable, fast-paced read for fans of action-packed adventures. It’s a page-turner that delivers plenty of suspense, action, and intrigue. It’s an entertaining, solid entry that keeps you hooked until the last page. If you’re looking for a gripping thriller to escape into, this one’s worth picking up.

US President's planned trip to Canada makes him an easy target for terrorists - 4 stars

When the highest levels of US government security are compromised, the chances of the US President staying alive are slim especially when he makes a trip out of the country. The defense industry needs wars in order to prosper. A scheme has been hatched to ramp up a conflict into a war in the Middle East. Security advisors in the CIA and FBI have lost sight of their responsibly.

The President's upcoming trip to Canada opens a window for people who might be noticed by Homeland Security to operate more freely. The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) claims to have thoroughly checked their sources and have no credible threats. Neither the CIA or CSIS has considered the reports of any rumored problems as serious.

Early on, the reader learns that a plan to assassinate the president has been planned. CSIS Agents Jack Storm and Riley Booker learn that at least one US agent has a lead about a terrorist threat. Jack and Riley get involved in a car chase with armored vehicles shooting at them. It certainly seems that something is up. Jack manager tells him to take time off since trouble always finds him and he Jack had acted recklessly.

As the date for the President's visit gets closer, violence ramps up and Jack (while nominally on leave) asks for help from outside the usual contacts. While high level agents of the USA and Canada are murdered for not being able to keep the planned execution under wraps, there is near certainty that there will be violence directed at the President.

The streets of Toronto become a battleground as Secret Service agents protecting the President are killed before the President is abducted. The bravery and courage shown by friendlies is awesome. Machine guns used by both sides thin the ranks until only a few are alive on each side. The fall out from the debacle is more of a political cover up than I would have expected.

A story of subterfuge, treachery and action featuring Jack Storm and his friend and fellow CIS operative, Riley Booker. Because the President of the United States will not approve a large-scale invasion of Yemen where Houthi rebels/terrorists continue to attack American interests, a large influential American Defence Contractor, is planning to convince the President to take that action by an attack on him when he is visiting Canada. Yemeni terrorists living below the radar in Canada are identified and Jack and Riley are joined by a CIA operative Morgan Knox in their endeavours to protect the President and identify the perpetrators.
There is plenty of violent action, especially involving the mercenaries contracted by the Defence Contractors and when Jack is taken off the case by his bosses, he continues to work behind the scenes. He also enlists the assistance of a team of Russian operatives from the SVR, in particular Bronia, who he has worked with before, and the Russians provide intelligence on the Yemeni sleeper cell, and manpower when the planned attack on the President takes place.
An excellent read.

The story begins with Jack and Riley, CIS agents assigned as leads, at a briefing regarding the impending visit of POTUS. Jack after leaving the briefing felt something was off and they were not getting all of the facts. This was later confirmed by Morgan, an assistant with Secret Service. She advises both Jack and Riley about a threat from the Houthis of an assassination attempt. When Jack brings the issue up, he is told that there is nothing to it and has already begin looked into it a CIS Division. Jack then contacted his contact to have a meeting. It was after that meeting where things quickly changed with Jack and Riley being removed from the team.

Soon Jack, Riley and Morgan began looking into it on their own and as a result there all faced danger. It seemed look another group who were the planners felt that the three were getting too close and must be eliminated. The time for the POTUS's arrival came and an attack ensued.

To discover what group was behind the attack, what dangers the 3 faced, who else wound up providing assistance and how it all worked out in the end, then you must read this book. The ending is great wand well worth your time!

Wow! Ethan Jones' Presidential Extraction is one great book to end the Jack Storm series!

The books starts with Jack Storm and his counterpart Riley Booker are in a meeting with CSIS Director Eugene Lambert, Director of the U.S. Secret Service, and his assistant Morgan Knox discussing the protection plans for the forthcoming visit of the US President visit to Ottawa.

After the general meeting, Jack and Morgan meet separately when Morgan brings Jack up-to-datre on s possible terrorist group of Yemeni men called the Liberation Front. Then quite soon three other groups are involved: the CIA, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and FBI agents.

As Jack and Riley began their search to investigate the names of three local Canadian-Yemeni citizens, their car is attacked by gun-shooting SUVs. Then from then on Jack and Riley's goal is to find traitors that are doing what they can to disrupt the president's visit and stay alive while doing it. It's a reader's breathless investigation!

A plot infecting the very agencies we trust to keep us safe. And with Jack’s reputation still in tatters, how will he manage his most difficult mission yet? Betrayal and treachery fill this book, as Jack and Riley race to outwit assassins and save their careers. This book pulled me in from the first words, and I wasn’t stopping until I knew the final outcome. I was deeply frustrated that mundane things like sleeping and eating kept interfering with my reading time. And now that it’s over, my appetite is in no way satisfied. I still want even more about these brave agents.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.

Presidential Extraction is a fast paced, action packed Spy thriller with Jack Storm and Riley Booker as they are tasked with helping in the protection of the President of the United States on his trip to Canada

This is a very intense read with Jacks life being targeted numerous times by mercenaries while also being betrayed by people and agencies that are supposed to Protect the President

Loved that Jack brought back Bronia with SVR to aid in discovering that that Defense Contractor is involved but never knows what this will cost Jack.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat with a rollercoaster ride of unexpected events and another Excellent read.

Presidential Extraction - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

As you can tell by the title, Agent Jack Storm's latest mission is to rescue an abducted president at all costs, after multiple gunfights and betrayals from within the CIS almost cost both men their lives.
Whom can Jack and Riley trust?

This is another top class thriller from Ethan Jones. It has everything I want from such a book. We have great characters, exotic settings, fast paced chases, a fast paced plot, gun fights and action that would put the best Hollywood blockbuster to shame. The author ramps up the stakes for his 'Extractor' this time as he's trying to foil a plot to assassinate the US president. This book flew by for me, almost as if the pace of the story turned the pages themselves. Excellent action thriller from one of the best around.

Another action filled story for Jack Storm and his partner, Riley. This time could be the end of Jack's career with the agency, but he knows he must do what is right, even if it costs him everything. When there is a plot to kidnap or even kill the president of the United States when he visits Canada, Jack is determined to stop the plot at al costs. But he not only needs Riley's help, but the help of his Russian contact as well. And that only leads to more problems. Especially when they find out who is really behind the plot.

The President is visiting Canada very soon and a plot to assassinate him is uncovered and Storm is assigned to keep him safe. Jack and his partner soon find out this is much bigger than they thought. Turns out Americans are involved as well as terrorists. As the plot thickens Storm soon determines that he really doesn’t know who he can trust anymore. This so action packed you will not be able to put it down !

My review of the book Presidential Extraction (Jack Storm Book 8).
Rating: 5, excellent.
Conforming with expectations of a Jack Storm thriller we see Jack always on the wrong side of authority, following his own rules and only just managing to stay alive. But amongst all these predictables there is a riveting tale with little hint of exactly how he will manage to get a useful outcome. A good read, full of surprises.

I was entirely engrossed in this read. I specifically liked it because it is a story that takes place within a 100 klm from where I live.
Storm as always plays the maverick but regardless and even against orders he is successful. In the end isn't fired.
This novel is full forward action from beginning to end. High energy that makes the reader not want to stop reading.

Followers of Jones books will not be disappointed and will thoroughly enjoy this book.. 10 stars!!!

The car chase in Chapter 7 is pulse-pounding and breath-taking. To get out of that mess took a miracle and brilliant thinking. Of course there's more for Jack - life never lets him rest and this story leaves us all sleepless too. You'll not want to close the book until it's finished. Superbly written. Excellent characterization. A sure fire hit. Highly Recommended.

The latest in this Jack Storm series doesn't disappoint. This one is set in Canada and involves an attempt to kidnap the US President when he is on a visit. Jack has assistance from characters we have met in previous books. As usual there is plenty of action and a good few plot twists. I enjoyed this one.

The world revolves around money and with sales of weaponry you really talk of big money. Too bad weapon sales often do not feature the virtuous, as we discover in an action driven plot in Presidential Extraction.
Jack Storm had simply no idea what would lie ahead when he hears the American President is about to visit Canada officially. However, he and Riley are the first to discover a possible assassination attempt on the president and are determined to keep the president safe at all costs.
Oh boy!
Enjoy.
