A (4 years old):

I like the book and it was so fun. I liked the lizard turning into a dragon. I liked the stinky puppet. I loved the story and I would read it again and again and again.
I hope you like it too, guys.

A kid finds a little lizard and wishes it were a dragon and came with marshmallows. Well, the lizard gets bigger, but there’s a problem with toasting marshmallows.

This was ok. It was entertaining but nothing special. I love dragons and I love marshmallows, so this should have been a home run for me but I think I wanted a little more from it. It is super short and quick so there's not a lot of time to build much plot. I did like that the font was large and easy on the eyes of kids with visual acuity issues.

A young child is playing when they encounter a lizard. They play with the lizard until they realize they are hungry. They wish for a dragon who could toast marshmallows. Lo and behold! A dragon, that looks suspiciously like the lizard shows up but is unable to breath fire and therefore cannot toast the marshmallows. The child tries many ideas to help the dragon make fire but nothing works. Eventually the dragon disappears and the lizard reappears along with a plate of toasted marshmallows.

This book doesn't really make any sense.

3.5 stars. This was a cute story about a boy who wishes for a dragon and marshmallows only to find out that the dragon is unable to roast the marshmallows. Will the two be able to find a solution or compromise? If you're looking for a new read-aloud, this could work.

I wish I had a dragon with marshmallows

My grand baby is 8 and I read this to her, here are her exact words, It was funny and she Like the dragon when it was sleeping and how the lizard was the dragon and at the end left the kid toasted marshmallows. Also the kid uses his imagination to make his dream come true.

A cute little read and a fun craft

We loved this book! It gave us some giggles and we enjoyed making the craft after we read the book. My son even decided to “create” his own book “script” after reading “I wish I had a Dragon With Marshmallows”. We love Diane Alber’s books, they always but our imagination to work and my kids love turning the pages of her books!

My whole house is in their dragon era, so when we saw this book, it was a must read. It’s silly and fun while following the effects of a wish that wasn’t expected to come true. The story is original and imaginative. The illustrations make it easy to tell exactly what’s happening, and they’re eye catching enough to keep the littlest one’s attention. I definitely recommend this one.

5 stars for dragon lovers! The story showcases imagination at its best, along with realizing and problem-solving solutions for when people/things are known to behave a certain way or do certain things, but when they can't, it throws others for a loop!

Kids loved it!

I read it to my kids this morning and my 6 year old boy loved that the story had a lizard and a dragon. Great illustrations to recognize sad/happy emotions and the flow of words made it a good read for the kids.

This book is just silly. Kids will love the illustrations and how the little lizard keeps disappearing. It is pure fantasy at its best and would be a great book to read for fun or to read aloud to a young group. Pictures are colorful and engaging. Highly recommended for Grades K-2.
