Madelyne is a single mother to seven year old Aidan, after losing her soldier husband Ben, and works as a metal artist in her forge making mostly weapons for collectors and Society of Creative Anachronisms (SCA) members. She has recently left a bad relationship with a man called Matthias, a romance scammer who charmed her and got her to let him in, but was running a con game the whole time. He didn’t take it well when she broke up with him, refusing to allow their relationship to be over until he said so! He and his crazy family have been stalking her ever since, even though she got a protection order against him. She had lost thousands of dollars and a few friends, after being taken in by him and his act, and had to take measures to tell everyone what he really was and get armed guards for her own home, rarely leaving it these days. Even her son has picked up on the tensions and wanted her to make him a sword or knife in her forge, to protect against the bad guys and hurt them if they came for them. When her guards go too quiet one night, she goes out to investigate, only to find out the last secret Matthias had kept from her. He is a shifter and killed all if well trained and armed men, without making a sound, leaving her a message to tell her he could get to her anywhere!
The first call she makes is to her late husband’s best friend Nate (Nathan) Stone, a wolf shifter and former Marine, knowing she couldn’t have human guards protecting her son and her, now she knows what Matthias is. She hired him and his team to help her now. She had also felt wistful about Nate and never forgotten him after all the years since she first met him. She was married and took his best friend, so nothing could ever have happened. But she still wants him and doesn’t know how she can resist him now he and his pack will be living and working in her home for however long it takes to stop Matthias and his mother. The rest of his team, Jamie his tech guy, Bella his security guy, and Ulf his Beta, were making their way to her home and would be there before dark. Nate talks about what type of shifter he could be and one type are really bad news, tigers! The sly way Matthias wove his way into her life and the cons he was running on her friends at the Art Centre and on herself, plus how dangerous he became once confronted and revealed for what he was, certainly fits the bill.
Having Nate back in her life brings all the old feelings back and it isn’t long before they consummate the bond they have had for years. She is also attracted to the other men in his pack, and although she is trying to resist anything, not knowing how they feel in return, it won’t take long for someone to make a move. She doesn’t want to distract them however, when hers and her sons’ lives are in danger. They haven’t found out where Matthias, his mother and her driver are staying, but it will be somewhere luxurious, as they like the finer things in life! Somehow, he finds out that she and Nathan are together and that enrages him, especially when Ulf plays to his anger, hoping to push him into making a mistake. Madelyne has made knives for her and her son, laced with silver, so they can defend themselves if the time comes, and Aidan insisting on protecting his mother! An obvious confrontation and final outcome with a HEA ending for them all, which left only one loose end and a house full of satisfied people. A short story with shifters and steam for all to enjoy.

Madelyne lost her husband Ben. Her first relationship she has a few years after his passing is with Matthais. Soon into the relationship she realises he is a con man and breaks it off. Matthais doesn't take too kindly to this and becomes a stalker. She employs a security team to watch over her and her son Aiden. But they are slaughtered on the property. She realises then that Matthais is a shifter. She contacts her late husbands best friend who he was in the navy with for their protection. Nathan and his pack are wolf shifters. Nathan fell for Madelyne as soon as he met her and he knew she had feelings for him but out of respect for Ben he stayed away so nothing could happen. As soon as they meet up again the attraction is felt immediately. His team comprising of Jamie, Bela and Ulf also are attracted to her and feel protective towards her son but will not do anything unless their alpha agrees to a poly relationship, if so, they would then broach the subject with Madelyne who they know is attracted to them all.
Will they ever catch Matthais when they realise he is an elusive tiger shifter who has a special ability. Will Madelyne and Nat eventually give into their attraction to one another allowing them the relationship that has been denied to them since meeting and hopefully allowing the team to join them in their devotion for one another?
I enjoyed this story of friendship, loyalty and love. Nathan walking away knowing he was in love with his BF's wife but his friendship and loyalty to Ben meant he would never act on it. Eventually fate brought them back together allowing for that love to flourish.

An alpha wolf shifter named Nathan, who brings his pack of four members to protect his old crush Madelyne, who was married to his best friend. But when sparks fly amidst the danger, they cannot deny themselves what they had denied for years because of their loyalty to Ben.
Trigger Warning~ Polyamorous relationship, stalker, blood, violence, manipulation, con artist, and emotional abuse.
The story title is a bit tawdry - it is not at all creative. But the writing was good, and the plot was kind of unique to me. The narration was in the point of view of all the characters, especially Madelyne's. It was a fast-paced romance that didn't actually allow a lot of room for character development as the story kept moving along without a lot of emotional development. Aiden was a cute little boy who added excitement to the scenes. Also, being a reverse harem story, the steamy scenes were only subpar - I expected more from that side, to be honest.
Nonetheless, it is a good short read if you enjoy shifter romance and reverse harem books.

Shifter Mates for the Single Mom was my first Laura Wylde book and I want to know what have I been missing? Seriously, this book was so good. She may be a quick read but she was mighty.
The MFC, Madelyn "Maddie" is a metal artist, how cool is that? She makes swords for a living and my geekier side couldn't be more giddy. She is a great mom to Aiden (who's so freaking adorable), a business owner, and can handle herself. Maddie is pretty awesome.
Nate, Bela, Jamie, and Ulf make up the pack. They have a military background and now that they work as security they've appeared in Maddie's life. While for the others everything is new, Maddie and Nate have a history, and not a bad history either it was just bad timing. Now they have a second chance because of all the freaking drama Maddie crazy con man of an ex is causing. I can't believe a mama's-boy is causing all this terror. Then again he's a shifter and there are lots of shifters and they're out. I kind of low-key love it went humans know about shifters because it makes for some interesting mix.

Madelyn is truly in danger from her ex and needs help. She discovered that he and his mother were conmen and willing th kill for what they want. She had a security team watching her and her son when she realized that her ex was a shifter. That discovery made Madelyn call Nathan he was her dead husband's bestfriend and if she was right based on her own feelings he was half in love with her. Nathan responded immediately when Madelyn called if it wasn't for his bestfriend and her loyalty to him they would be something now. Nathan now runs a security team with his pack mates. A group he met in the military or through connections in the military. Ulf, Jamie and Bela are immediately attracted the the beautiful Madelyn yet wait for Nathan who is obviously in love with her to take his mate. Protecting Madelyn and her young son is the main goal, but finding a perfect mate for the pack is even better.

This story has you feeling the nightmares the same as Madelyne. Her stalker is getting more violent so she reaches out to the one person who makes her feels things she has fought for years.
Both Madelyn and Nathan knew there was something there but with her being married they both ignored hose feelings. I liked how they both had the integrity to not react to those feelings when her husband was alive. Now she has 4 very large wolf shifters that make her feel things! This book has these 4 very alpha males that do not mind sharing and protecting what is theirs.
Aiden the little boy adds so much to the story. You get background throughout the book about Nathan and Ben. Plus, shifter history as well. The issue with the stalker is intense and the search for him and his family kept you turning the pages.
I enjoyed this short read – which was packed with a full story plus all that wolf loving!.

When it goes too far, shes able to call on an old friend who's more than willing to be there for her and her little boy.
Even if shes unaware what the future will bring, dealing with the horror of the present situation is enough to concentrate on for now.
His pack are part of the deal, as they work together to make things safer for them, and in the process become a part of her future.
She's more than willing to open herself up to the option of having all of them in her life, once she gets to know them.
That's the future she's got to look forward to, once they get through the current hell.

What happens when your ex is stalking you and your son. Madelyne is a widow with a small child. Her ex is a con man that was robbing her and when she found out, she broke up with him. Now he wants her back at all costs. When all her guards are found dead, she calls the one person who she knows will keep her safe. Nathan was her husband's best friend and after her husband's death he left because of his feelings for her. Now he and his 3 other pack members have moved in to keep her safe. This is a page turning action-adventure story that involves stalking, death, polyamorous relationships and romance. While reading this story I was rooting for a happy ending and was not disappointed.

Well I did enjoy this book I wish it had been a little longer so there could be more background story for each character. I also wish there had been more of a show of the building of chemistry Between Madelyne, Nathan, Bela,Jamie and Ulf. Madelyne was having problems with a ex and his family stalking her. They'd already taken out her human security team. That's when she finally called in her late husband's best friend Nathan and his pack to help.
I enjoyed the storyline because it was different than anything I've read before as far as the plot goes. And her son was absolutely adorable.

This was another fun shifter read by this author and I love the magical powers for each shifter species. That adds a really nice dimension to the story. Madelyn is a metalsmith and she makes swords - so cool! However, she and her son and being hassled, with deadly intent, by an ex. By reaching out to Nate, her deceased husband's bf, she gets his pack as help for protection. This is a second chance romance for Nate and Madelyn, but Nate is part of a pack now and they are a package deal ;P Expect a fast paced read with plenty of action, drama, kid cuteness and steam as they work their way to an HEA :D

I was expecting this book to have something more, do not get me wrong if you are looking for a shifter romance with a found family aspect, this one is it.
It just felt a little rushed, wasn't much relationship building between MC's but all of a sudden things were kind of set in stone just as the RH wasn't necessarily needed because it is hardly focused on.
I also feel like there could have been a little more build up before the incident or the part when they meet.
It is a cute little shifter story nonetheless. So if you need some shifters, to add to your life.. look no further.
I was expecting this book to have something more, do not get me wrong if you are looking for a shifter romance with a found family aspect, this one is it.

Madelyne calls Nathan for help after her ex slaughters the security team that is supposed to be protecting them from him. Nathan used to serve with Madelyn's husband, who passed away some years ago and now he owns his own security business. He and his pack comes to protect Madelyn and her young son. Then one by one they all fall her. I wish the book was a bit longer but they are shifters so I get that things move fast for them. I am glad that they were able to get her ex in the end and she had her HEA with all of them!

Talk about havi g a bad time with dating. Biy when she started dating Mattias she had no idea how much bad news he was. Thank goodness for her deceased husband's best friend and his pack. They will be there to protect her and her son but there is something else going on with the sexy 4 that make you want to hurry and get to the next page.

This was a quick read. The characters worked well with each other. Marilyn and Nathan have known each other for years, he was her husbands best friend. They connect again because an ex of Madilyn’s is causing trouble for her and the town they moved to. Nathan and his pack come to protect her and her son, along the way Thay all have feelings for each other, and they decide to give in and form an even tighter pack.

This has a great storyline and characters. It has wolf shifters and some others that are a mystery. A single mom has to hire security to keep them safe from an ex. After the whole team is killed, she calls a friend from the past. Lots of danger, mystery, and STEAM. I only wish it was longer. Will definitely read more from this author.

I loved this book! It’s an original story and keeps you turning the pages. The characters are well written and you feel how different they are as individuals and are connected to each other. I loved the slow steamy build up between Nathan and Madelyne. The four shifters and her brought the spice!!.

This is a well written book with a cast of strong characters. The author brings Maddie, her son Aiden and the four shifters who protect and fall for them. She brings danger, suspense, murder, steam and love and moves the story quickly and smoothly, delivering a great read.

Madelyne is a widowed single mother living outside a small art community. After her pyscho stalker ex kills her security team, she realizes he’s also a Shifter. What kind? She doesn’t know, but she does know a Shitfer who can help, Nathan. Her husband’s best friend from the military. Nathan and his Pack (Ulf, Bela, and Jamie) come help her, since the local Sheriff can’t. Nathan and Madelyne rekindle their feelings without the feeling of betrayal to her husband, while Nathan’s Pack also start falling for her and her son. When the psycho ex calls her and is challenged by Ulf to come and take what is “his” he loses his mind. Psycho ex’s Mom pretends to be Madelyne so her son will open the door; the Pack protects Madelyne and her son, putting an end to the psycho ex. After the “epic battle” Madelyn and the Pack solidify their poly relationship and live HEA.

Loved this strong single mom that refuses to hide against an enemy far scarier than could be believed. The storyline was great and kept me engaged. Impressed how there was a back story provided about Ben. All around awesome book. Would recommend to anyone that likes shifter books.

Crazy Tiger and company after Madelyne. Very exciting with danger all around. The Wolf shifters can smell him. He's close. Crazy what the shifters can do. I love reading stories like this. A steamy and romantic story. Lots of drama and teamwork scenes. Another psycho ex but well written with a different shifter view. I loved how the female lead is so refreshingly different. Add in a cute kid and the book just zooms along. A good read!.
