A second chance at life. A second promise of love.
Leanne’s priorities are abnormally straight for the first time since her ex passed. She’s adjusting to her new work routine, her relationship with her daughter has never been better, and spoiling her baby grandson has become her top focus. If only her daughter would stop trying to set her up with internet strangers, and her only friend, Dan, would stop picking on her cooking, life would be almost perfect.
The least likely person in Wyoming has caught Dan’s attention. Maybe if he hadn’t offered to teach Leanne how to cook, he would’ve never thought twice about her, but it’s too late now. When she starts meeting people from a dating app, the bickering between them heats up. A fire lights within Dan, and he can’t sit by and watch a good thing burn out. Just as new passions ignite, old wounds simmer below the surface as a visitor disrupts their fragile dance. Can Dan move past his ruined history and embrace a new future with Leanna, or will their newfound love deflate like an overcooked soufflé?
A heartwarming romance that deserves a solid four-star rating. The story revolves around Leanne, a woman who has managed to put her life in order after the tragic loss of her ex. Her priorities are now beautifully aligned—focusing on her job, nurturing an enviable relationship with her daughter, and doting on her grandson. However, her daughter’s persistent attempts to set her up with online strangers and the playful criticisms of her cooking by her friend Dan add a humorous twist to her nearly perfect life.
Dan, the least likely romantic interest in Wyoming, finds himself captivated by Leanne. His offer to teach her how to cook sets off a chain of events that neither of them anticipated. As Leanne begins to explore the world of dating apps, the playful banter between her and Dan intensifies, sparking an undeniable chemistry. The author masterfully portrays the slow burn of their relationship, heating up like a well-tended stove.
However, as new romantic sparks fly, past wounds threaten to extinguish their budding love. A surprise visitor disrupts their delicate balance, forcing Dan to confront his painful history. The narrative skillfully navigates these emotional waters, questioning whether Dan can overcome his past and embrace a future with Leanne or if their love will falter under pressure.
"Dishing up Love" offers a delightful blend of humor, romance, and emotional depth. The characters are well-developed, their interactions authentic, and the plot engaging. This novel is a perfect read for those who enjoy a heartfelt romance with a touch of culinary charm. Despite minor pacing issues, the story’s warmth and wit make it a memorable journey worth savoring.
This is the first of this author's Christian Cowboy Romance novels that I've read... And I'm pleased to say it won't be my last! While adjusting to a new work routine after losing her husband, finding a better relationship with her daughter, and doting on her adorable grandbaby, Leanne thinks life is finally working out well. Her daughter, however, thinks that Leanne needs to find new love, and attempts to make a match through online dating. Would she possibly find love with her best friend Dan? Maybe, maybe not. But he can't seem to tolerate the idea of her dating anyone from the Internet. While trying to teach her how to cook, he picks at her, and let's just say the food isn't the only thing that begins to heat up! There's more to come, but I don't like spoilers, so that's all you get! I highly recommend this book if you like sweet and clean romance! The Christian aspect is there, but if that is the only thing holding you back from giving it a read, I think you ought to give it a try. This author writes in such a well crafted way that it's incorporated very nicely!
June B Anderson, sure knows how to write a cute, sweet romance! I love watching Dan and Leanne finding love in each other after being stubborn and blind to each other. Still able to watch the past characters grow. But seeing these two fall for each other was adorable! I finished the book in a day, it was that good!
Dishing Up Love is super cute! Dan’s & Leanne’s relationship makes you laugh. The entire book just warms the heart. I highly recommend this book. Hoping to find out what happens with Mandy & Dallas.
