Only star for expanding my knowledge on diverse cornographic usage of tools🔧🔨🪚that helped me achieve my dreams of becoming an ikea table.. I want to love this book but sadly I can’t because there are many scenes that is sooo OFF. Way off!
I’m gonna make this a short review as well because how off it is with this book 🙄🙄 And this is literally my real eyes rolling around writing this review cause the book itself it’s so off to me 😬
AT FIRST THO…
The beginning of the book was super romantic tho for me 😅 It start with the hero really pursue the heroine so much at the first sight and claimed her immediately just seeing her for the first time. Wow i love that 😋 The hero really immediately go after the heroine and just have this CRAZY OBSESSION WITH HER AFTER MEETING HER FOR THE FIRST TIME. Just what i like tho tbh!!!! 😭😭🥺 He immediately have questions like who is this angel (imagine! Angel he said!) So sweet and romantic tho at least for me 😆 And IMMEDIATELY THE HERO IS SOOO POSSESSIVE ABOUT THE HEROINE 😚😚😚 Like starting to think murder when he saw some guy talking to the heroine…
HE STARTS TO stalked the heroine immediately after seeing her and talking to her for the first time. Which is so romantic for me like i love that! “Doesn’t she know I’m the only one who truly sees her? Who appreciates her beauty and spirit? She’s mine. I know it deep in my bones.”. BUT THINGS START TO GET OFF when the heroine is getting stupid scare about the hero. Like her body wants her she said but the also she scared at the time. And this is only the beginning… But thankfully that didn’t last long.
Then the heroine start to accept and wants the hero. And the hero wants her even more than anything… I’m not going into details about the whole relationship because how badly the hero fvck things up that I’m about to write right now 🙄🙄
THE HERO ONE TIME FVCK YES FVCKING THE HEROINE IN FRONT OF HIS FRIENDS…. IN FRONT OF HIS MOTHERFVCKING FRIENDS!!! 3 MAN!!!!!🥲🥲🥲

There’s one time when the hero fvcks so hard to the heroine, he didn’t clean the heroine or help her… He just said “go clean yourself” 😠 He loves to use hard tools to fvck the heroine’s p*ssy that i felt hurt as a woman just by reading it 😭😭😭 and with more than one tool!!! LIKE WHAT THE FVCK!!!!!!!
What the actual fvck.
Those scenes immediately ruins the whole story… I know this is a dark love story but not too dark because the hero likes to kill anyone who hurt him or hurt the heroine. But still why those scenes happened!!!!
The only few thing i love about this book is this:
No cheating, the hero is super over the top possessive protective alpha male, saying mine mine mine to the heroine all the freakin time, loves to satisfy the heroine, immediately in love with the heroine and over the top obsessed with the heroine, many jealous scenes!!!, the hero gets mad when he see the heroine is wearing sexy clothes, the HEROINE IS A VIRGIN AND HE LOVES THAT VERY MUCH and the hero is sooo freakin tall!!!!
Unfortunately there’s no great epilogue here. No engagement, nadaaaaa….
If you want to read hard s3x with tools involved go ahead. But the tools that the hero used is hard ones, not s3x toys!!! I repeat. Not s3x toys! Which is more fvcked up for me. If you like that then great! But for me tho, NOPE….
The chemistry was there but it’s hard to say it’s a very romantic chemistry because the heroine is always pushing the hero away. But then gets weak for him. Like girl what 🙄 But more than that, the downside is the what you read above this review… That literally ruins the whole thing for me.

Types of book that I’m looking for: SAFE, safe all the way from the beginning till the end🥵 No cheating, no unnecessary childish drama. Not too much OW DRAMA cause they are loud and annoying lol. NO to still having feelings about a ex especially wants go get back together tf no. NO to friends with benefits and still seeing other people type of sh*t. NO to hero or heroine who said i love you and have been obsessed but still likes to fvck around yeah big NO to that sh*t. NOOO to still married or still in a relationship with someone else while liking the main character, yeah they have to be single since the beginning. NOOO to a long separation and have someone else they have s3x with during the separation. NOO to too many times of separation and breaking up sh*t. NOO to toxic narcissistic characters.
I preferred the characters are loyal to the core, over the top possessive heroes since the beginning and never stops, main characters have unique jobs or talents, the hero adores and obsessed with the heroine so much, the hero fell harder for the heroine and don’t want let her go and fight for her. And most importantly EPILOGUE AND ESPECIALLY THE DECADES LATER SCENE…. HAPPY ENDING IS A MUST. Chemistry is a must too 🙏🏼

This…this was brainrot. There was no romance. No patience. No yearning. No romantic gestures. Nothing. I don’t even know what to call this. What I do know is that this is NOT dark romance. It’s just dark.
The MMC, Cade, is literally one hair away from needing a grippy sock vacation WITH a muzzle. Between his lackluster dirty talk, the fact that his “obsession” was nearly assaulted and his response was to follow her home and do it himself, him discussing taking the girl’s virginity with a coworker (specifically saying “It wasn’t hard. She resisted at first, but I could tell she wanted it. She just needed a strong man to show her what she’s been missing”), THEN TELLING HER “clean yourself up. Then it’s time for round two”, he may just be the WORST MMC I’ve experienced in my life.
And Lily, the FMC isn’t any better. The only words in her vocabulary are “please Cade”, she doesn’t stand up for herself, she uses the fact that she was abandoned in foster care as an excuse as to why she lets Cade treat her the way he does, she packs up her whole life to join the freak show, psycho, carnival on wheels bs AFTER Cade tells her she doesn’t have a choice because he’s forcing her to go with him…I want to strangle her myself.
And even with all of that, it still somehow manages to get worse. He manages to screw her with a hammer (A HAMMER.), there are four rounds in a span of three minutes, AND in the end when he’s forcing her to leave with him, he says “Fuck, baby. You like me r*ping you, don’t you?” And at 82%, that was my last straw. This was the equivalent of what I suspect watching a psychopath interact with one of those inanimate sex dolls is like. Spare yourself.

⭐️4/5 WOW. this was soooo much better than i expected!!!! cade is a 6.4, tatted, sexy, damaged/unhinged man who works for a traveling carnival that he’s basically grown up in. he spots lily waitressing during his time in a small, eerie town, and immediately attaches to her. he claims her as his and deems her as his angel….so…..things progress from there;)

Ну чому всі пхають у піхву якісь речі😩 взагалі це погано, особливо на початку, але під кінець є пару моментів які мені сподобалися, тому 3.
Кейд взагалі чхати хотів на бажання Лілі хоче вона його чи ні, але він її хоче і буде все за його планом. На початку взагалі більше схоже на згвалтування було🤷🏻♀️ +тут є ексгібіціонізм, і дивився один з персонажів, про якого є далі книжка, тому цікаво що там у нього буде.
Кейд взагалі чхати хотів на бажання Лілі хоче вона його чи ні, але він її хоче і буде все за його планом. На початку взагалі більше схоже на згвалтування було🤷🏻♀️ +тут є ексгібіціонізм, і дивився один з персонажів, про якого є далі книжка, тому цікаво що там у нього буде.

The heroine: Lily - she works at the diner in the town of Willow Creek. She works long days and is exhausted after her shifts. Her best friend Alice is often at her small apartment when Lily gets home. She talks Lily into going to the carnival on the first night he is in town.
The Hero: Cade - he works for a traveling carnival that just moves into the small town of Willow Creek. He is one of the muscular workers that set up the carnival, carry around the parts of the rides and puts them together. He had a meaningless existence before hooking up with the carnival. He loves being on the road, never tied down. He sees himself as a modern-day cowboy with the rides being his art.
The Story: Cade first sees Lily at her work through the window of the Diner and thinks she is the most gorgeous girl he has ever seen. He feels something he never felt before. He is determined to find out more about her and thinks about murdering her boyfriend if she has one. He pictures himself dragging her into a dark alley after she gets off work, though he is nice to her when he orders coffee in the diner. He knows she has awakened an obsessive hunger in him that he struggles to control. He plans to stalk her till he can figure out how to make her his.
Cade corners Lily near the bathrooms, scaring her when he tells her that he knows she lives alone and explaining all the things he wants to do to her. He follows her home and plans to make her his. After he breaks into her apartment, Lily finds that she is scared but also aroused by her stalker. She can’t get him out of her mind and hopes he loses interest before taking things to a place she can’t fight against.
This is one of those books with a morally grey anti-Hero. Cade definitely does things that are illegal and terrifies the girl he wants. He is not afraid of breaking the law and he pretty much does what he wants. There are more than a few triggers in this book, though I like stalker romance, and this was certainly all that. I liked that he had some pretty dark fantasies, but when was actually intimate with Lily, he is gentle with her. The intimate scenes between them are super steamy. The only think I didn’t like was the fact that after most of the intimate scenes, Lily just wants to get away. She loves what he does to her, but her mind tells her he is dangerous, and she needs to stay away.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via duet narration and was narrated by Corvin King and Ella Upton. Corvin King has a deep, super sexy voice that works perfectly for a dark character like Cade. Ella Upton sounds very natural, but I am not fond of her voice, she sounds a bit nasal. The heroine: Lily - she works at the diner in the town of Willow Creek. She works long days and is exhausted after her shifts. Her best friend Alice is often at her small apartment when Lily gets home. She talks Lily into going to the carnival on the first night he is in town.
The Hero: Cade - he works for a traveling carnival that just moves into the small town of Willow Creek. He is one of the muscular workers that set up the carnival, carry around the parts of the rides and puts them together. He had a meaningless existence before hooking up with the carnival. He loves being on the road, never tied down. He sees himself as a modern-day cowboy with the rides being his art.
The Story: Cade first sees Lily at her work through the window of the Diner and thinks she is the most gorgeous girl he has ever seen. He feels something he never felt before. He is determined to find out more about her and thinks about murdering her boyfriend if she has one. He pictures himself dragging her into a dark alley after she gets off work, though he is nice to her when he orders coffee in the diner. He knows she has awakened an obsessive hunger in him that he struggles to control. He plans to stalk her till he can figure out how to make her his.
Cade corners Lily near the bathrooms, scaring her when he tells her that he knows she lives alone and explaining all the things he wants to do to her. He follows her home and plans to make her his. After he breaks into her apartment, Lily finds that she is scared but also aroused by her stalker. She can’t get him out of her mind and hopes he loses interest before taking things to a place she can’t fight against.
This is one of those books with a morally grey anti-Hero. Cade definitely does things that are illegal and terrifies the girl he wants. He is not afraid of breaking the law and he pretty much does what he wants. There are more than a few triggers in this book, though I like stalker romance, and this was certainly all that. I liked that he had some pretty dark fantasies, but when was actually intimate with Lily, he is gentle with her. The intimate scenes between them are super steamy. The only think I didn’t like was the fact that after most of the intimate scenes, Lily just wants to get away. She loves what he does to her, but her mind tells her he is dangerous, and she needs to stay away.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via duet narration and was narrated by Corvin King and Ella Upton. Dude, the only reason I finished was because it was short. There’s a good joke in there if you care to look, but I’m not going to point out my own humor.
Anywho, yuck. The characters gave me the ick, the story gave me the ick. It was just icky. Some parts were salvageable, they were spicy of course, but also some of them made me flinch. I will never look at tools the same way. And honestly don’t know if that is a good or a bad thing. The only thing that saved it even a little was Corbin King. That man could read the Constitution and I would be enthralled.

Soooooo repetitive. I can’t count the number of times something was said in 2 different ways in the same paragraph. Not really much story to it. The idea was good & the spice was SPICIN but in my opinion, the book fell flat. Lacked interesting ideas. I love a good spicy book 🌶️🌶️🌶️ buuutttt I need a better story too.

The narrator for the FMC was...well she was really annoying at times. Her voice almost ruined it for me, but with Corvin King, I pulled through. I love duet narrations, and mostly stick to duet narrations for audiobooks. However, reading along while listening was frustrating at points because the audiobook and the actual book did not line up, and some lines were skipped or changed. Beware of that little issue.

As usual for this kind of book, it started off good, and then just went to shit. The plot isn't the problem for me- you don't read these books for the plot line lol.
It's the completeness with which the author wants you to suspend your disbelief- it goes way beyond what a reader can reasonably do. He literally breaks into her apartment, watches her shower, jerks off and cums on her door handle, and leaves a bullet behind as a "gift"..... and we're supposed to believe any cop would tell her "there's nothing we can do" and "he didn't really do anything to actually harm you"?!?! HE LEFT DNA AT THE SCENE. AND A NOTE. AND A "GIFT" WITH FINGERPRINTS ON IT. I get that stalking laws are woefully lacking in our country, but this was too unbelievable.
Also, I think the author tries too hard to impress upon us that Cade is "twisted", and in doing so, she completely disregards her own characters' personalities. Like, we get it, he's "twisted". But one minute he's calling her his precious angel and he's so obsessed with her, the next he's telling his buddies all nonchalantly, "yeah, I fucked this random chick, pounded that ass, took her virginity too". One minute she can't wear a short skirt cuz he doesn't want anybody looking at her, the next he's banging her in front of THREE of his friends. I'm not yucking anybody's yum here- I'm saying pick a damn trope and stick to it! You can't be both. That's not logically possible.
And as per usual, very rushed, which I know happens in these shorter books. But still.
And my God, spice is about QUALITY, not QUANTITY. It got SO repetitive. And boring. And as a 32 year old woman who has a GREAT partner who's amazing at "bringing me pleasure"- no woman cums that frequently, that fast, from simply being penetrated hard. Can we stop with that narrative already???? It's like a frat boy's idea of "giving it to her good"- just repeatedly and aggressively slam it in, chicks love that! WRONG. Good sex =/= hard sex. Hard sex CAN be good, but they're not synonyms. Just repeated jackhammering isn't gonna bring a woman to multiple orgasms. This idea is like the written equivalent to girls in porn just putting on a big ol' show when the dude is doing nothing but jackhammering. We 👏 don't 👏 cum 👏 just 👏 from 👏 that!👏

There is no depth or growth to the characters. Written poorly and the dark kinks are delivered awfully!
I read haunting adeline and adored it. Well written and good character development. So I'm not new to dark kinks or twisted romance!

Lily is a virgin one night and then is suddenly getting DP by mechanical toys! Yes you read that right. The night after she loses her virginity she's tied to a chair in a tent where our main guy, cade, has adjusted some of his power tools to allow dildos to be used!!
So lily having no sexual experience other than a guy forcing her, stalking and harassing her has suddenly developed a rape kink and asks to explore it. What a surprise!!!
There are many books out there that toe the line of dominance and stalking and are written really well but this just does not cut it!!

I wouldn’t say Cade is a serial killer just murders ppl every now and then apparently for good reasons 💀 and stalks Angels. He’s part of the carnival workers thus can disappear raising no suspicion (folks, it’s a S T O R Y, fiction) you can question it, you can dissect it, you can assess all the rights and wrongs of it, it will still be a fictional story, as a lot of dark/stalker romance books are, Selena puts trigger warnings at the front for a reason, don’t read it if you think your mental health can’t handle it.
That being said, I actually enjoyed the Dominance of Cade and Lily’s subsequent submission, though she is not without her own ideas on enacting out her fantasies with him. It is only a short novella but packed with a lot of spice and yes, some of it may be questionable but not impossible 😈

This was a smur booktok rec way back when. I do not recommend it at all. I do not believe any of the fmc and the mmc's sexual interactions were consentual on the fmcs part. The falling in love with the noncon mmc was far too quick, in my opinion, and the mmc was a control freak times a billion to the point where I feel like the fmc was practically an abused woman.

I don't really know what to say about this one. I felt like it dragged really really bad. I didn't see the connection between the two. It felt forced for her and I never felt love.

Felt too rushed, bad plotline, nothing but s##, Stockholm Syndrome in my opinion, makes you want to wonder what the author went through to have a plotline this dark. Lots of triggers.
