When death hit Avalon, some of the biggest casualties weren't just the men who lost their lives, but the ones who were left behind to grieve. Sierra's relationship with Wyatt hadn't been a healthy one, and the love she'd given him turned to ash before they met Liam. The Dom who stole her heart had tried to heal the wounds, only to have his efforts rendered useless by the loss of Wyatt. Five years later, haunted by memories and physical failures, moving to Denver, away from the ghosts around every corner, seemed like the only logical step for Liam and Sierra if their relationship was to last.
Serenity offered everything they needed - fresh scenery, new friends, challenging situations, and an opportunity to break free of the rut keeping them trapped.
Neither of them were expecting the hand of fate to bring them someone new. Someone who filled the aching chasms. Someone who made them whole again. Someone with a time limit and a whole life waiting for him back home...
I think this is one of my top five favorite stories of 2024. This author did an amazing job with this story, blending the tale of a grieving couple while weaving in a third person to their permanent life. Although this can be considered a stand alone story, you won't get the full picture of how amazing this book is without reading at least Fly for Me. This is the story of how this couple first met, but this book is how they cemented their new fully integrated relationship. I also love how the author is giving us a second club family to fall in love with. Yes, Serenity rivals Avalon and I'm here for more of these books. I'm giving no clues away on story specifics other than to say, Sierra and Liam finally get all they deserve. And the smexy scenes, holy cow find your fan, some ice cubes and maybe your favorite toy. An absolutely perfect HEA.
I’ve loved this authors stories from the very first book of hers I read. Each one is not just about BDSM, each is unique and touches on sensitive subjects. But she repeatedly handles them with grace and dignity. Plus each story I read makes me fall in love in my heart and soul, with the characters. I first met Liam and Sierra in the Avalon series and hoped there would be more written about them. Sierra is shy and beautiful and has had many issues in her life, but Liam has been by her side, loving her and showing her how worthy she is. When they decided to move to Serenity it is in the hopes to start a new life together. What neither expected was to meet Maverick aka Mack. From the moment he was introduced in this story I fell in total lust and love with him. His attraction to Sierra jumped off the pages and I knew in my heart that he would be the perfect person to complete them. When certain circumstances took place, my heart hurt for Sierra and I cried along with her, but then my heart melted with how Liam and Mack soothe her and show her so much love. Not to mention the sizzling chemistry between them was so hot I needed a fire extinguisher to put out the flames on my Kindle!!! Another thing I thoroughly enjoyed was meeting new characters that intrigued me and past characters who I missed dearly. This story will entrench itself into your heart and I didn’t want it to ever end. My heart is so very full and happy right now!
Absolutely loved Liam, Sierra and Mack’s story. Kay Elle Parker wove this trio’s story together beautifully and perfectly. There were so many lessons in this book, hope for getting what you wish for, it also spoke of good prevailing over evil when you are surrounded by amazing people, but most of all it simply spoke of love and patience. Awesome story and series ❤️
This book is a perfect example of why I eagerly anticipate each and every story that this author pens. As you might expect there is sizzling heat and plenty of it, I'm more than happy to say. What you might not expect is the level of depth that are skillfully crafted into the characters and their story. So, while you can look forward to your temperature rising, you had also best be prepared for big feelings, raw emotions, razor-sharp poignancy and a powerful edge of reality that creates a tale that gives your heart and emotions an intense workout that is sure to leave a scar because it cuts so deeply. I found myself moved profoundly by this beautiful and sometimes quite painful story of loss, grief, letting go and finding love again. A truly amazing read.
Kay Elle Parker is one of my all-time favourite authors and the twin series, Club Avalon and Club Serenity, are both beyond wonderful. The characters are so beautifully drawn, consistent from book to book yet always revealing more about their characters with each novel. The compassion Parker has when presenting the vulnerability of her subjects is breathtaking, and that goes for the dominants as well as the subs. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
What I liked: 1) The story was engrossing enough that, despite only liking two of the secondary characters (Mistress Violet and Tabitha) and none of the lead characters, I read to the very end 2) Hats off to the author for keeping the character of Liam so consistent that my reasons for not liking him both here and in 'Dance for Me' were the same. 3) Having a main character that wasn't physically perfect and that didn't disappear by the end of the story 4) Having a main female character with fertility issues that didn't disappear by the end of the story 5) That the story featured adult bullying 6) The Sierra/Tabitha woman's bathroom scene was amazing on all levels 7) The nicknames 'pixie' was adorable
What I didn't like: 1) The lack of a clear timeline; the female lead's and bartender male lead's thoughts and emotions made it seem like their former third had passed away within the last couple of years when, in reality, it had been five years before 2) Grieving for five years over a person who abused the female lead for ten years before the three came together for less than a year, made her seem like a melodramatic martyr and him uncaring and insensitive to the pain the abuser caused her 3) The blowjob scene at the beginning was problematic on so many levels and highlighted just how little the male lead cared about the female lead's dignity. 4) The female lead had Hirsutism (caused by PCOS) which gave her a beard thick enough to be referred to as a 'pelt' and it, understandably, made her extremely self-conscious BUT SHE DID NOTHING ABOUT IT. She didn't shave or wax as part of her regular routine, use any type of medical aids or go for Electrolysis/Laser hair removal, all treatments that have proven effective for removing the unwanted hair caused by this condition. I cannot sympathize with someone who refuses to help themselves. 5) The female lead had fertility issues (also caused by PCOS) which, again understandably, caused her a great deal of emotional pain but refused to consider adoption when, first of all, she could pass on her issues to a biological child because both her medical issues run in families, therefore possibly consigning them to the same pain and, second of all, there are so many children in the world who need a home. I cannot sympathize with someone so self-absorbed and selfish. 6) The lack of focus on the Psoriasis. Unlike the Hirsutism and infertility, this medical issue does not actually have alternate avenues to negate or counterbalance it, all a person can do is treat it when it flares up, so it would have been a lot more sympathetic than the others. (And the hot tub made me cringe. Hot water and chlorine can cause flares and a person with Psoriasis is at a higher risk of contracting skin infections from using public hot tubs.) 7) Text kept telling me how amazeballs the female lead was but, outside of the bathroom scene, nothing in her thoughts or actions reflected her being anything more than a ninny with a victim complex. 8) The whole 'little' thing did not fit with the rest of her history, characterization or personality and the timing made no sense. (For a well-done 'little' story, check out 'Walk for Me' by the same author.) 9) The bartender male lead was suppose to be dominant but lacked the weight and drive of one. 10) Text kept telling me how much the bartender male loved the female lead but his actions towards her bounced around between neglectful, callous and downright bizarre. 11) The businessman male lead had little characterization and what was the point of that whole two second side-plot involving his business? 12) No businessman is going to take off a whole month in the middle of a major deal; a weekend to de-stress and recharge, sure; a whole month, no. 13) The businessman male lead going from had no rationale or development. 14) Could not understand either of the male leads attraction to the female lead; unlike Bodie/Braun (who I despise), Anarchy/Jasper (who I love) and Alicia/Atticus (who were an amazing match), she didn't fit either of them emotionally or sexually. And the three of them together fit even less. 15) The male leads using sex as punishment was so wrong given her history 16) All the oversized cocks; it was unnecessary and kinda gross. 17) The cover; it does not depict the female lead accurately on any level
I fell in love with Kay Elle Parker with her Club Avalon series and I'll admit I was gutted when this series ended. I've enjoyed the Club Serenity series so far but the family aspect of a whole club was missing in the previous 3 stories as we closed some previous open chapters and began this new one Lesson In Honesty is the best book of 2024 I have read and I have read a lot this year! I started and pretty much read it all in one long sitting and will be re-reading again very soon. There is no question this is a must read book.
We have met Liam and Sierra in Club Avalon's Fly For Me and I instantly loved our Viking Dom and how he held Sierra front and centre in his heart in spite all her emotional hurts. You don't need to have read this to understand this one but it will give you the backstory of Wyatt and his role in this pairs relationship.
Mack is an amazing addition to their story and together Sierra and Liam are special, with Mack they are whole and on FIRE! The great thing about Kay Elle Parker is that she not only writes an amazingly scorching BDSM scene which is SO not for reading in public, but she writes characters that are full of depth, heart and soul too. You fall for all of her characters and Liam, Sierra and Mack are amazing examples of how well she does this. Be warned, Chapter 10 is AMAZING for all manner of reasons but I read it 3 times, it was so powerful for so many reasons.
The sneak peak we've had of the new Dom/me's and subs of Serenity have left me frustrated because I simply want more and can't wait to see more of how this Serenity family will develop. Another amazingly well written story and I hope Kay Elle Parker writes more of the Club Serenity books soon!
The Club Serenity series just keeps giving and this book packs a powerful punch to the gut as it follows Liam and Sierra as they try to find a way out of the imposing grief that has almost consumed their relationship after the loss of their partner Wyatt.by moving to Club Serenity for a change of aspect and friends but they encounter so much more than expected.. Maverick (Mack) is roughly at a cross roads, successful business at the point of sale but feeling like it’s a time for him to take a step back to work out what is next in life is treated to months break at Serenity but on the first night he is taken by the beautiful acquiescence of Sienna’s submission, that begins the journey as Mack Liam and Sienna work out how their new triad will work…. I love that the other characters from Avalon as well as the previous books are present plus the new characters who are due to have their stories… This book like all the others in the series will take you on, wring you out and then hang you out to dry and it helps to have a box of tissues on hand..
OH my heart!!! This story was so freaking good. I was so hoping that Liam and Sierra would be able to move on after their 3rd, Wyatt, was killed but 5 years later, they are still having problems and issues. Sierra has been keeping secrets from her Dom and he is determined to figure out what's going on. I won't spoil what one of those "secrets" are but it's so good! Enter Mack!!! I fell for him in an instant and knew he would be perfect for Liam and Sierra but he's not a switch, right? LOL I absolutely loved the new characters that I'm hoping will get future stories and I loved seeing the characters from Avalon!! I'm convinced that Ms. Parker can't write a bad story because I've read each one she's put out and there isn't a bad one in the bunch! This story made me tear up, made me laugh, got me slightly ticked off but it ends up just how I wanted it to end. Love that Liam and Sierra have found their 3rd with Mack and he'll make a good Dom that Sierra needs and a good husband for Liam!! Brilliant story and can't wait for the next one!!!
OMG. This story is amazing, fascinating, and explosive, and all those things you ever want in a delicious read!! A move to escape the reminders of deep grief. A fresh start. A missing third. A new endeavor. A rebuilding of a relationship. A new dynamic within the relationship. A possible new third?
Liam and Sierra still mourn Wyatt, mostly. Leaving Avalon and joining Serenity, a full-time club, instead of evenings only. A new set of partners and friends. Sierra continues her stuffie repair. Liam knocks the new bar out of the park. A man made of kindness, strength and warmth.
Hot times; “Did she know what kind of beast she was taking on when you got together?” “Because – and I’m being perfectly honest here – I’ve never heard a man snarl when he…”
Reverence, building something, and a need for Tabitha’s skills (IYKYK). A definite must-read, as are all in the series. .Stupendous!!
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
Even if that book is in the Club Serenity series, it is not necessary to read the previous books in that series. BUT, I think it's best to read Fly For Me (book 6 in the Club Avalon series). Because Lesson in Honesty follows the same couple Liam and Sierra and even if the author did a great job explaining what happens in Fly For Me it's not the same than "living" it with the characters. Lesson in honesty is not only the story of grieving Liam and Sierra finding a long overdue happiness but it is also a story of self discovery. It's not because a couple knows each other very well that needs and wants stay the same. So Liam and Sierra have to twist their relationship a bit, not only with a third but also with new things. As always, the author goes deep into the characters development and it's a delight to take that journey with them. And Liam has always been a favorite of mine of my little heart is very happy.
This story introduces us to a new cast of characters as well as our usual culprits. Liam, Sierra, Ellias, Callie and Evander are now opening Club Serenity in Colorado. After the tragedy that happened in Phoenix, this is a new start for them, especially for Liam and Sierra who are still reeling with the death of Wyatt. Mack is visiting Serenity when a friend send him on a month long vacation. He is dreaming of finding a sub like Sierra and when somebody judge her on her looks,, he comes to he defense and this will open the door to adventure he did not see coming. This is a story of healing, valorisation, growth for Liam, Sierra and Mack. Also a story of new beginnings and hope with the new family they are creating with their new friends. AMAZING story! I wonder what to expect with Merrick’s story next.
I’m so glad Ms Parker brought Liam and Sierra back to finish their story. Their original book was closer to an HFN than an HEA, and they were in a bad place at the end of the Avalon series. And if any couple deserves to be happy, it’s these two.
Maverick was a perfect addition to the trio, truly completing the triangle. He figures out pretty quickly that he wants more than a temporary stay at Serenity.
It’s not all sunshine and rainbows and stuffies, though. Maverick has a life back home and Sierra’s unfortunately reoccurring traumas rear their ugly heads. Fortunately, some old and new friends are available to help sort things out.
We also meet some new characters that I hope will get their own books in the future! A certain Mistress is definitely on my “please write this character a book” list.
I love this new series at Serenity Club it has offered Liam and Sierra a second chance. After Wyatt was killed n the last book the two have tried putting their lives back together. It’s hard to leave everything thing they knew at Avalon and start new, making new friends seeking absolute acceptance. This an emotional story for them and us as we see the struggles they have and continue to have since Wyatt’s death, his ghost is still very much between them. Maverick aka Mack is an amazing addition to the club. He’s a compassionate man, and honest feelings we haven’t seen in a while toward Sierra. Her life has been rough with Wyatt until Liam. Mack see them and admires their connection, their love and commitment. Can they trust another into their relationship? Will Mack support Liam and especially the fragile Sierra? I have voluntarily read and reviewed this amazing story of unconditional love and acceptance. It’s great seeing Liam and Sierra finally the one who completes their circle!
Wow wow wow!!! Not enough words to say how great this book is. Liam and Sierra have moved to Denver to leave the ghosts from Avalon behind. There Mack joins them while he is on vacation. But Sierra finds her way into his heart. The question is do they want to be a trio? Mack he!ps Liam deal with Sierra and her insecurities about her beard. Fee!ings grow deeper.
This is a beautiful book that I savored while reading. Frankly i did not want it to end. The sex scenes are hot but it is Sierra who steals your heart and commands your attention. Delicate, sensitively written, complex, and a masterpiece by a gifted writer. Thank you for this book on behalf of all who have body insecurities.
I have to start by saying that I have always been dissatisfied with the way that Sierra and Liam and Wyatt played out. I wanted the bad guy (Wyatt) to become the good guy. Apparently, he just couldn't make the leap and died instead. Wyatt's death and the fact that Sierra couldn't get pregnant absolutely decimated Sierra and Liam and took a toll on their relationship. Sierra has always had an inferiority complex anyway, and she needed to get out of her comfort zone, so she and Liam left Avalon and moved to Denver to help get Club Serenity on its feet. Enter Mack! I love Mack, he is so sweet and down to earth and saw Sierra's soul from the first moment - which endeared him to Liam immediately. I love this trio and I only hope that in the future installments of the Club Serenity series I get to see them complete their family. This book is a "must read". On to the next!
Kay Elle Parker is amazing, this story portrays a grieving couple, Sierra's insecurities with her appearance and a craving for both Liam and Sierra to add a third person to their life. I would suggest reading Fly for Me first to enjoy how amazing this book actually is. Fly for Me is the story of how this couple first met, but this book is a continuation in a new Club. How they overcome their new issues with Sierra and how they become fully involved in both the club and their triad relationship. I love the a second club family is mixing with the new Club and we have new members to fall in love with. Serenity is wonderful new world to explore, I am so happy this didn't end with Avalon. The sexy scenes continue, and I loved the absolutely wonderful HEA.
This is such a poignant story and Sierra will tug at your heart strings. Although they moved to make a new start, the past is still hanging over Liam and Sierra, then Mack enters the equation and they begin to feel whole again. There are some really funny scenes with the littles, especially the one with the bear. There are also very 🔥hot, 🔥hot scenes. This a story that is a journey where all is not smooth sailing, but with the love and help of good friends, healing happens and love, while not quite conquering all goes a long way to enabling a heartbroken couple to heal and move forward. A beautiful story from a talented writer that will take you on an amazing journey.
I don't have words right now. This is a common occurrence after I read one of Kay Elle Parker's books. Lesson In Honesty is a wonderfully written roller-coaster that will be forever etched onto my soul. I first met Liam and Sierra in Fly For Me (another masterpiece by Kay Elle Parker) and I have to say that this continuation of their story is brilliant. With the addition of Mack, I'm one happy girl right now. This trio is perfect! I whole-heartedly believe that this story will have bring all of your emotions to the forefront. I highly, highly recommend this book. Go get a copy of Lesson In Honesty for yourself, and enjoy this roller-coaster. 5 stars across the board!!!!!
WOW! At a Loss for Words ... Kay Elle Parker is as skilled a writer as any I've ever read in any genre and this book is no exception. One loving Dom becomes two and wow when they team up the story of their love for Sierra is fire. Prepare yourself for the steam, giggles, and an abundance of tears. It has taken me a long time to accept the fact that every story of Kay's has at least one scene that pushes my personal limits and has me shouting "Yellow or Red" for the heroine. And yet somehow it matches the intensity of the needs of her characters and always ends in a hard fought Happily Ever After. I'm hoping for a holiday story or novella.
I love the Avalon books and was overjoyed to see it be continued in the Serenity series.Liam and Sienna needed to have a happy ending and did in this book.Wyatt was so disappointing and extremely unlikeable,so Mack was the element missing from their relationship. The banter between Liam and Maverick( Mack)and the general humor in this book was excellent.Littles create chaos and fun. There was a lot going on plot- wise and lots of new characters to get to know as well as old ones to revisit. The steam level is high and the adult content is intense .Excellent book.Well done!! 😃
We meet Liam and Sierra in KEP's Fly for Me, the sorry ends with content for. While you can start their story here, you will appreciate Sierra's life, struggles, and strength so much more if you start there.
Liam and Sierra are starting over in a new place. They have lost the intimacy in their relationship and while they have a deep love for each other, it still feels like a piece is missing. They meet Mack who feels like the last piece of their puzzle. Liam, Sierra, and Mack work to create a relationship together.
Throughout Sierra works on loving herself and finding her place. Throughout the story, there is love, steam, and some laughs.
I am so happy that this author decided to give Liam and Sierra a truly happy ending to their story!! I love how you also get to see their relationship grow and evolve even more in this book! Mack was so much better for them then Wyatt was. He had is redemption moment in the last book, but he wasn't the perfect fit for Liam and Sierra. Mack truly is that perfect fit! And I really love that you get to still see the characters you know and love from Club Avalon as well. I can't wait to see where things go with the next book!! Merrick seems like he is going to be a great Master to read about!!
What a book! I cried when I first met Liam and Sierra, back at Avalon. I wanted to take Wyatt's head off...fast forward to Serenity and the new chance that has been offered to the couple. I got angry, cried and laughed; this book had a lot of feels. Character build was great, interaction between Sierra and Mack was hot from the get-go. The conversation between Tabitha and Sierra, about fear and trust resonated with me. How the Dom's/Master come together to help their own was heart warming. You just need to read for yourself to see or feel what I mean.
I devoured Sierra, Liam, and Mack's freakin awesome story! Sierra's emotional journey resonated deeply and I felt her sadness and strength. I adored her sass, courage, and resilience. The love between Sierra and Liam shone through, even in struggles. And then came Mack and the 3 together oh yeah 😉 My only wish? More! More of their story, more of their life. Their chemistry is Sizzling! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 This book is an absolute treasure.. I loved it!
What a loving story. “Proud” Sierra, Liam and now Mack, they were beautiful characters and fit together perfectly. So many loving new friends in this story as well as old acquaintances, some really nasty short lived characters too! Family and friendship, eight seconds da in a rodeo, equals, pencil size, beer bottles, just the right amount of levity in this great book. I LOVE this family.
The author did Liam and Sierra right. They were given a perfect third and an awesome story. I hated Wyatt - I am sorry that he died but he did not belong in anywhere near Sierra after what he did to her and I thought Liam was an ass for even suggesting it. It is a fantastic story about acceptance and the kind of people that you hope to fill your life with. Absolutely loved Sierra's Little side and the Teddy Bear scene was hysterical. I totally love the ending.
Well this one may be my favorite of no The first and second were just as good oh crap all the books are so darn good. Love how we see more of Liam's love and devotion to Sierra. Love how Maverick is introduced and becomes a throuple with Liam and Sierra. The scenes were fabulous -- the bring in Evander, Elias / Callie is soo good and bringing out Sierra's little was fantastic. I want more I want the wedding cant wait for the next book.
🎯 Heart melting triad romance, perfect Lifestyle depiction, awesome sexy times + dirty talk, realistic human psychology (can I help Tabitha with the meanies? Give us 5 mins in a room without cameras, thanks in advance!😘)... Belly laughs too. That was a perfect read & I can't wait for the next book.
