This edition read very poorly. There were intense moments with the spy; it went nowhere special then fizzled. The brief and well studied facts were interspersed with dialogue that was hard to follow. Could be the editor and/or screener was sloppy. I stopped at page 67. I gave it a try. I really did. I think two or more people were writing it together but they didn’t mesh. It’s hard to follow when quotations were just put in places they didn’t belong.
The story is wonderfully chilling and crosses over into very creepy a times! The author is adept at telling a story and I love the diary entries at the end of chapters. The story gets five stars. But, I struggled to read this at times because the mechanical stuff bumped me out of the author's magic over and over. I give three stars for story mechanics. Thus, an average or combined score of four stars.
