Stiles winces. "Don't call it a crush. One does not simply crush on Derek Hale."
Jebiwonkenobi writes one of my favorite Dereks. They write a pretty solid Stiles as well. I will give you a "warning" of sorts though - Jebiwonkenobi's fics are quirky. I LOVE quirky, this is my kind of fic, but this probably won't be a popular Sterek, but if you like the rather eccentric fics, read this.
Here's the premise: Stiles becomes hung up on why he and Derek aren't friends. So, in a very Stiles fashion, he creates a resume of how good a friend he is to people complete with recommendations and mails it to Derek Hale. In a bit of a shocking twist, Derek plays along and sends a resume of his friendship skills back. This is a "conversation centric" fic. There is not a lot of action in this fic and much of what takes place is just a series of emotionally charged, awkwardly stilted conversations. The focus is Stiles pushing to evolve his relationship with Derek from camaraderie to friendship to intimacy. It is PG, I guess considered "pre-slash" until the ending fireworks ;p. It is painful and sweet and awkward and worthy of a screen adaptation by Wes Anderson.
I love every page of it.
Behind the spoiler tag is the boys' resumes put together as I was able to interpret from the text. I will tell you I think it is better to nopt click on the spoiler if you are planning on reading this fic and let the poignancy of these resumes hit you in the gut while you are reading this fic, but I wanted to note these somewhere for my personal reference, so proceed at your own risk with the warning that you might appreciate them better if waiting to read them in the fic. I know that is really obnoxious of me, right? Sorry.

That was great! I need to read more by this author. As Rachel says it's quirky but it's my kind of quirk so I really enjoyed it. I read most of it while wearing a stupid grin. :)

Stiles doing what I believe he does best. CARING. When he sets his heart and soul on something, when he decided it or they matter he is all in.
Very cute. Applications of friendship, yeah.

Ok I really liked this fic. But at the same time I felt like it ended before it got started and I'm frustrated!! Arrggghhh!
Here Stiles is especially sharp, instinctively knowing how to handle Derek, knows when to push, when to back off and really offering what Derek needs despite his resistance on all fronts.
This definitely has a bit of off brand humor but it works. It also has some good feels and what I mean by that are feels that hit you a little harder than usual. Derek's melancholy self is particularly harsh and introspective. Stiles's feelings are resilient despite them getting trampled on time and again.
So yes this is another fine example showing the gradual, eventual, inevitable Stiles, wearing down self proclaimed I'm-not-worthy-of-love-or-happiness Derek Hale, and it was genius and different and I'm still pissed that it ended right when it got good!

Fun and cute (Stiles). Bittersweet and poignant (Derek).
I had some feels (Derek)! I had some laughs (Stiles)!
This author writes really good versions of these two characters. Stiles is caring, witty, loyal and brave. Derek is broody, lonely, angry and protective.
The split POV really helped. I love getting a first hand look into Derek's fragile psyche, it's depressing as fuck, but I just adore everything about his character when written well.
There are a lot of things Derek wants to say, like I'm sorry and you're the first human I've carried on multiple conversations with since I was sixteen and I don't think you're a colossal asshole, but instead he says, "Sure," and helps Stiles back to the car.

Each part is too short for me to grab onto which meant I gave up without really knowing what was going on.

This was a good story. This is a Sterek fanfiction story. For those of you that don't know...Sterek fanfic is based off 2 male characters, Stiles and Derek, from the TV show Teen Wolf. In the show they're both heterosexual but some viewers have fantasized about them together in a m/m relationship and thus Sterek was born. This story takes place in the TV show world as the Alpha pack is starting to cause trouble.
When the story begins, Stiles and Derek aren't friends and mostly just deal with each other during pack business. Stiles sees that Peter is messing with Derek and so he starts doing things to make Derek's life easier. He doesn't admit it though and takes a secret glee in the discomfort that Derek gets when people all over town start treating him nicely. Eventually, Stiles and Derek make moves towards friendship but there is some issues because of Derek's lack of trust/his inability to outstand someone being nice to him with no ulterior motives. Once they delve in to friendship thing evolve quickly and we have kissing by the end.
This was an enjoyable story. I liked Stiles and his efforts to secretly help Derek and thwart Peter. The story was nice but there wasn't anything that stood out and grabbed me (hense the 3 stars). Overall, I liked this story. :)
* note - I listened to the podcast of this story and the narrator did a good job.

Big smile on my face right here! I loved this! It was short, with very clever humour, and all around glorious. There wasn't much romance but I honestly didn't miss it. It was like a prequel to Sterek and wonderfully done. Recommend!

Sometimes I think Stiles is just too good for Derek but it's a good thing Stiles doesn't give up on Derek.
