HOT! Grab yourself a tall glass of ice tea before you sit down because you will need something to cool you off as you read. Great sexy stories by six fantastic authors. If you keep up with the Redwood Pack and the Ashwood Falls series you will get to visit them again through two of the novellas in the set. Meet some new characters and enjoy the familiar. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them and that says a lot. Sometimes box sets start to drag as you read through them, but this one wouldn't let me go. Great job ladies! Can't wait to read more.

I’m never sure how to write a review on boxed sets but this has six new paranormal romance stories by some really great writers. The Hunted Heart is by Carrie Ann Ryan and is about the doctor Noah and the pack Elder, Emeline. They are trying to find a cure to help Noah get his eyesight back. Emeline has been alive hundreds of years and Noah is a lot younger. Emeline had a mate years ago but he wasn’t her true mate. Noah has to figure out how to get Emeline to acknowledge he is her true mate. He may be young but he’s determined.
Jackal’s Measure is by Marie Harte and tells the story of Tariq and Eden. This was a new story for me and I really enjoyed it. We see Tariq who is in Portland being bombarded by the god of chaos, Set.
Set wants Eden and commands Tariq bring her to him. We find out how strong these two people are in the story. Love always wins, right?
Alpha’s Sacrifice is by Rebecca Royce and tells the story of Hayden and his mate, Chelsea who is also a seer. The True Believers are involved in this story. Sit back in your chair and get ready for a true forever life mate. You don’t see this kind of love often so enjoy it when you can.
Touch of Desire by Lia Davis tells us the story of the submissive wolf, Cora, and the senior enforcer, Torin. It tells how a person/wolf can take so much destruction, try to keep surviving, but not know where to get help. Cora’s wolf was dying from so much sadness that finally
Torin has to step up to bat. We see Cora as submissive but she’s got a strength that we find as we read. If you need some strength, read this cause she’s got some to share.

Can you find a life of love and happiness? Is there more than one way to be happy? She shows us that you can change your life if you are really determined.
Fobidden Rescue by Heather Long is the first book in a new series. Fox, the best Watcher at Enoch, Kincaide and Sage, protects Jubilee who just wants to protect her brother. This is not a love at first sight but it’s pretty close. It has a lot of excitement though so I think it’s going to be a great series.
I recommend this book for anyone looking for some excitement in their reading. All the books are written with strong people.

I enjoyed this story, I thought the characters were very interesting. Emeline and Noah have quit the journey of mating, love and many twist, turns and misunderstandings but love a good HEA, Emeline always thought she'd end up alone but Noah always knew she was his mate. I liked North and Lexi as well, made the story that much more unique. 3.5 stars

I thought this story was very unique and so interesting, love Tariq and Eden. Eden thinks she human but when she stumbles across Tariq things fall into place including chemistry between them. Tariq is a bad ass that's for sure, great twist and turns, great writing abd great story. I think this book is part of a series and if it is ill read more, love this author. 4.5 stars

Hayden being a new alpha and already dealing with deaths among the wolves meets Chelsea who warns him and his pack about the True Believers, she was part of them but she was being used for her visions. When they meet there's chemistry and other feelings.very emotional read, surprising parts and twists and turns, very interesting read. I enjoyed it very much. 4 stars

Love This author, I enjoy her stories very much and this one is awesome. Cora has lost her family and is very depressed and hides within herself. Torin is her mate and she has known for a long time but wants more for him then settling for a broken, sad and terrified wolf. Torin wants Cora and will stop at nothing to build her back up so she can stand with him, make her strong again. Love a emotional and sexy read and love story,these two characters rock, loved this story, can't wait to read more about this pack. 5 stars

This book is from the Watchers series (which I ave not read) but I enjoyed this book very much and will read more in this series and by this author. The Watchers keep watch and balance between Heaven and Hell , Nephilim, a Demon, and a Witch, Keep Heaven and Hell's war from destroying humanity. Jubilee and Fox are great together, Im dying to know what happens next with these two, Fox really likes Jubilee as soon as he meets her, I enjoyed them a lot. Excellent read and story, I enjoyed it very much. Very unique and creative. I don't want to ruin anything but need to say this was a great story and can't wait to read more. 5 stars

I thought this story was very unique and so interesting, love Tariq and Eden. Eden thinks she human but when she stumbles across Tariq things fall into place including chemistry between them. Tariq is a bad ass that's for sure, great twist and turns, great writing abd great story. I think this book is part of a series and if it is ill read more, love this author. 4.5 stars

At the moment she is working with the pack healers to cure someone from a magically caused blindness.
Noah is a doctor and a young wolf at only 28 years old. He has known since he first met Em that she is a potential Mate. Until she realizes it he will just have to court her, while they work together to find the right mix of magic and medicine to heal his friend. Em sees herself as an old woman and Noah as a very young man with all his life to find his Mate. Someone in the pack is horrified When they see the growing attraction between Noah and Em, and decides to put a stop to it.
This is a fun addition to a great series. With lots of action and sexy love scenes. It doesn't matter If you read it out of sequence. The story stands well on It's own. But does contain a few spoilers If like me you're not yet up to date.
I skipped the cast list at the beginning because I didn't want to spoil the books I haven't read yet.

Tariq and his team of jackels represent Anubis the Egyptian God. Tariq has had part of his soul stolen by the God Set. He is an evil cheat.
Eden is just a human,(she thinks) who stumbles into a fight between Tariq's team and the Greek team. They try to erase her memory. Eden has always had dreams of other times. Now Set is after her for something she has made. Tariq must keep her out of Set's reach as long as possible.
There seems to be a connection between them, as If they have met before.
I found this a little confusing until I got into it. I think If I had read the earlier books it would be better. I definitely want to read all of them now. A very HOT read.

Chelsea has suffered with visions for years. The True Believers took her off the streets, to experiment on her and use her visions. While she is having what she calls an episode she escapes ,and finds her way to Hayden to save him. The problem for both of them is, when she comes out of her episode she doesn't remember any of it.
A very good emotional story, that has drawn me in. I'm now off to find the series it is part of.

Cora has lost her whole family and her wolf is terrified and hiding deep inside her. As a submissive Cora finds it hard to cope, or ask for help. She has known for ages that Torin is her Mate,but he is a strong dominant enforcer. He deserves better than a broken wolf.
Torin needs Cora as his Mate but knows how scared she is. He has to make her strong enough to take her place by his side.
The pack still face danger from outside. A very emotional and beautiful love story.
I will be getting the series.

Jubilee Spector is running for her life from drug dealers out to kill her. She has ratted them out in an attempt to protect her brother. A door opens as she is running, so she bolts through it. One look of the nearly naked man in the room and Jubilee thinks it might be safer outside.
Fox Arada is a fox shifter for the Watchers. He is on leave for two days. When the Jubilee's fight comes to his room, he finishes it. The problem now is the girl has seen what he is,that is forbidden. Fox decides to protect Jubilee even from his bosses. The need he has to save her is so strong it allows him to defy the blood bond. When his boss shows up they find out that Jubilee is a lot more than even she knew.
This is a very exciting story that has got my one click finger itching. I'm off now to find this series.
This whole anthology has been brilliant. There are new to me authors to read lots more from. They are all sexy stories of varying heat levels. Paranormal romance of all types. Vampire,Shifters, Demons and even Angels. Great fun.

One of my favorite reasons to pick up an anthology is the opportunity to try out a new series or in this case a couple of new authors. I'm humbled to say that I've still not read all of Carrie Ann Ryan's Redwood Pack but I'm going to be doing a major catch up for the entire series and have something special for you too in February. So make sure you stay tuned.
But The Hunted Heart can easily be read as a stand alone. Emeline is one of the elders for the Redwood Pack and has seen death, destruction and suffered the heartache of lost love. She is struggling to hold onto a reason to stay alive. Noah however is new to the pack, 28 year old and the current pack doctor, who isn't adverse to a home visit.
The poignancy and heart which this story is told captures the true emotions of a woman at the end of her resistance and a man with the patience to wait for her to catch up to his emotions. There are moments where you could see Noah's determination to give Emeline exactly what she needed but never give her up entirely.
Their struggle to discover a cure for North's blindness binds them together, gives them a common goal and provides Noah with another chance to get closer to Emeline at every opportunity. This is a great addition and first book to lead off with in this anthology.
Marie Harte's Jackal's Measure tells the story of one of Anubis' soldiers, Tariq, who has been brutally tortured by Seti, the God of Chaos for centuries, in order to use Tariq as a weapon to win the Games of the Gods. Never able to tell Anubis of his torture he struggles to maintain his sanity even after his heart has been stolen. And if that isn't enough the Game of the Gods is occurring in Portland Oregon and a female wonders into the middle of a move by Anubis and Are's pawns. Eden Dixon made a wrong turn and landed in the middle of the games but Set has been using Eden as well to produce a vial. But Eden is a strong woman and refuses to hand it over.
This story has twists, turns and surprises that I was not anticipating and was a true delight to read. I look forward to more from this series in the future.
Alpha's Sacrifice is a unique twist on the concept of amnesia effecting one of the main characters. The reason behind the lapses in Chelsea's memory made me feel part of this story since I'm new to this series and the author. Hayden's unease as the alpha made for an interesting dichotomy between the ease in which he lead his pack and his unease at being the leader. The story was well told and I enjoyed it from the beginning to end. I will definitely check out more work by Rebecca Royce in the future.
I'm an avid fan of Ms. Lia Davis' Ashwood Falls series and Touch of Desire continues that streak of fandom. Cora River & Torin Fisher's story is as well told as I had hoped. There is just something about these two that I craved a happily ever after for them both. The fact that they find it together makes it all the sweeter. Cora has been struggling and withdrawing from her life, her wolf and her pack. But Torin and others refuse to let her worry, doubt and fear consume her and push her back into living by making her part of protecting the pack and, in the end, a purpose she desperately needed. This story can be read as a stand alone but I strongly recommend sitting down to an Ashwood Falls marathon. You can thank me later.
Ann Mayburn's Sangue Fever was one of the books I was most interested to read out of this anthology because I primarily know Ms. Mayburn's contemporary work or sci-fi books and wondered what sort of madness she would imploy in a vampire story. And she blew my mind yet again. I don't want to ruin this wonderful story especially since it appears to me to be the only true stand alone in this book but let me just say that I am thrilled that her cowboy hero is not in his twenties but a man in his early forties. Here is her description of this scrumptiousness:
"He had close-cropped dark hair with thick shocks of silver streaking through it. A black cowboy hat sat on the table before him, and she had a sudden vivid mental image of riding him wearing just his hat. He was sexy, so damn sexy it made her teeth ache to taste him. His tanned face had faint lines, and she could see the solid, muscular build of his broad chest and shoulders beneath his plaid shirt. Something about him radiated power and control, but it wasn't in the way of immortals. No, this man was one hundred percent human and utterly delicious. All thought of anyone's gaze except for the powerful man before her vanished as pure primal need filled her."
This paragraph alone makes me want to re-read this portion of the book.
Lastly is Heather Long's Forbidden Rescue. I'm torn on this story. Not sure exactly but there just seemed to be something missing to place it at the same level as the other stories of this anthology. The narrative was good, the characters were interesting but the back story was missing development. The emotional connection just didn't resonate at the same level. The reason for the "rescue" of Jubilee and her transformation just didn't seem to be completely fleshed out. For me sadly this was the story that just left me feeling a bit blah and is the only book in this anthology that I put the book down for a few days during my review process. The idea behind this book/series is a great one and I look forward to seeing where it heads into the future but this was a lack luster start unfortunately.
Final Thoughts: If you haven't delved into the world of paranormal romance and are looking for a taste of a few worlds then this is a great book to pick. You will be exposed to numerous authors and their series which I hope will drive you to look into one or more of them in the future.

This story can be read as a stand alone but I strongly recommend sitting down to an Ashwood Falls marathon. You can thank me later.
Ann Mayburn's Sangue Fever was one of the books I was most interested to read out of this anthology because I primarily know Ms. Mayburn's contemporary work or sci-fi books and wondered what sort of madness she would imploy in a vampire story. And she blew my mind yet again. I don't want to ruin this wonderful story especially since it appears to me to be the only true stand alone in this book but let me just say that I am thrilled that her cowboy hero is not in his twenties but a man in his early forties. Here is her description of this scrumptiousness:
"He had close-cropped dark hair with thick shocks of silver streaking through it. A black cowboy hat sat on the table before him, and she had a sudden vivid mental image of riding him wearing just his hat. He was sexy, so damn sexy it made her teeth ache to taste him. His tanned face had faint lines, and she could see the solid, muscular build of his broad chest and shoulders beneath his plaid shirt. Something about him radiated power and control, but it wasn't in the way of immortals. No, this man was one hundred percent human and utterly delicious. All thought of anyone's gaze except for the powerful man before her vanished as pure primal need filled her."
This paragraph alone makes me want to re-read this portion of the book.
Lastly is Heather Long's Forbidden Rescue. I'm torn on this story. Not sure exactly but there just seemed to be something missing to place it at the same level as the other stories of this anthology. The narrative was good, the characters were interesting but the back story was missing development. The emotional connection just didn't resonate at the same level. The reason for the "rescue" of Jubilee and her transformation just didn't seem to be completely fleshed out. For me sadly this was the story that just left me feeling a bit blah and is the only book in this anthology that I put the book down for a few days during my review process. The idea behind this book/series is a great one and I look forward to seeing where it heads into the future but this was a lack luster start unfortunately.
Final Thoughts: If you haven't delved into the world of paranormal romance and are looking for a taste of a few worlds then this is a great book to pick. You will be exposed to numerous authors and their series which I hope will drive you to look into one or more of them in the future.

My thoughts on these six Novellas vary. Carrie Ann Ryan has finally ended the Redwood Pack series, for real this time from now on it’s all Talon pack. The Hunted Heart is the story of Noah and Emeline. After everything that has happened Noah has finally decided to make his move on Em, she just happens to be completely oblivious that the feelings she’s feeling are her mating instincts. But with Carrie Ann it’s never easy and Noah and Em have to fight a foe Em never knew she had.
Jackal’s Measure is part of a new series by Marie Harte. I like what I have read of Marie Harte’s so far but I don’t think this novella has quite won me over on this series. Godly War games, humans caught in the cross fire and fierce warriors doing all the dirty works. Tariq follows the God Anubis, but the jealous Set has stolen part of Tariq his heart. Set drags a human into the mix and tries to cheat at the Game of Gods, he never anticipated Eden would turn his unwilling spy Tariq on him.
Alpha’s Sacrifice by Rebecca Royce is part of the Westervelt Wolves series. I have read only one other in this series and I want more. Hayden doesn’t think that he really deserves to be Alpha after being rejected by the Alpha Prime for the exclusive Alpha school. Hayden runs a small pack, a growing vineyard and winery and a quiet and peaceful life the chances of the True Believers attacking them. Suddenly a woman he’s never met before claims that they are meant for each other and that an attack is emanate. The truth behind Chelsea and who and what she is shocks Hayden, but none of it matters because she is his mate.
Touch of Desire by Lia Davis is a short and sweet novella for her Ashwood series. I was almost hesitant to read this because I wanted to start at the beginning but it didn’t really matter this was a good stand-alone and I feel that when I finally start the series the story will just get better. Cora has lost her whole family to the mutants that the crazy Alpha out to rule them all. The trauma has left her wolf wounded and withdrawn so now she can not shift. Torin has known Cora was his mate from the moment she turned eighteen but he has held off to let her grieve. The inability to shift has started to damage her and if she doesn’t shift soon she will die. Torin is not willing to accept the fact that she is broken and beyond repair.
Sangue Fever by Ann Mayburn is so far a stand-alone but will soon be part of her Chosen series. I liked it well enough there wasn’t anything in particular I liked or disliked about it. It still stands out in my mind and I am curious about the up coming series. Lisabetta has spent the last hundreds of years seeking her revenge on those who hurt her and changed her and all those associated with their group. Now that she has succeed she is yearning for more. Taylor has a secret and he won’t give up until Lisabetta is his, and Lisabetta’s maker Sargon is willing to help.
Forbidden Rescue is the start to Heather Long’s new series Watchers. Heaven and Hell are on the cusp or war and both have their doors closed no one enters no one leaves. The seraphim and nephilim have joined together to ensure the peace is kept and the humans survive. Kincaid is in the service of the seraphim Enoch and is on vacation whether he likes it or not. Jubilee will do anything to protect her brother from the drug lord that sucking him into his world even if it means Jubilee endangering her own life. Kincaid doesn’t know why saves Jubilee from her pursuers and exposes his true self but he does and now he is willing to risk himself to keep her safe. But Jubilee is more than they know.

Six fantastic stories from some of the hardest working authors I know of. These ladies consistently turn out a terrific read and to have them all in this one box set makes my little heart go pitty pat.
THE HUNTED HEART (Redwood Pack #7.7) by Carrie Ann Ryan
Emeline has been one of my favorite secondary characters. She is strong without being in your face and her sense of serenity was a pleasure to be around. But she really isn’t that serene. She has learned not to let her heartache show and being cloistered with the Elders has kept her from really living. Enter young Noah who intends to drag her ( kicking and screaming if necessary) into the now so she can be who she needs to be and so he has a chance to prove she is his mate. If you have been following the Redwood Pack stories this takes place post war. We get to see how our favorite couples are doing. And we see if Emeline and Noah can find a way to save North’s sight. Redwood Pack fans are going to LOVE this one.
JACKAL’S MEASURE by Marie Harte
When the GODS get bored people bleed. One way they have avoided the kind of war that would destroy the universe is by having their acolytes play in the Games of the Gods. Set, father of Anubis and a chaos God, feels like he doesn’t have to follow the rules and hasn’t for a very long time. And as fun and sexy as this story is I kept picturing Set as Brain from Pinky and the Brain. But aside from that this was a cool and different story.
ALPHA’S SACRIFICE by Rebecca Royce
This story takes place in the Fallen Alpha world but can be read standalone. When you are the leader of the pack you have to do what is best for the pack even if it means giving up a personal life. But when the crazy psychic shows up and tells him that they are True Mates and that his life is in danger being a workaholic is going to be the least of Hayden’s problems.
TOUCH OF DESIRE by Lia Davis
This story takes place in the world of Ashwood Falls and is a terrific introduction that has me wanting to go find out more about the other folks in this story. Cora is stronger than she knows having survived the destruction of her family. But she has withdrawn and this drives senior enforcer Torin nuts because his wolf has wanted Cora for so long. He has kept busy trying to make it safe for Cora and the rest of the pack but now it is time for them to get a few things straight.
SANGUE FEVER by Ann Mayburn
This is the only vampire story in this anthology and it is hot!
FORBIDDEN RESCUE by Heather Long
This was maybe my favorite story. This is the first in a new series that looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. The Watchers are a group led by a Nephilim, a Demon, and a Witch, dedicated to keep a war between Heaven & Hell from destroying humanity. One of the Watchers warriors is a Kitsune who goes by the name of Fox. When Fox saves street kid Jubilee from the thugs trying to murder her it is no big deal until he can’t wipe her memories. The more Fox gets to know her the more he likes her and doesn’t want to issue the ultimatum that all has been issued she must join or die. But Jubilee is a game changer they just don’t know it yet. I can’t wait to see where Heather Long takes this series.

The Hunted Heart was a really a sweet and sexy novella to read. I am happy that the character Emeline finally got her HEA.

This is a smorgasbord of authors who all have the ability to deliver sensuous tales. I do so like to on occasion pick up one such as this so that I do not have to go looking for another novel so quick because at times I can devour rather quickly especially paranormal romance. In this I found what I was looking for with several authors in one collection that at the start I had read a each one of them but when finished was well acquainted with more. I like a certain writing style that will keep me intrigued but also deliver the romance I crave when reading which this certainly did. They were all based in paranormal but on a topic that is if written well can be exciting to read as the author takes you on the battle between two when they meet but sometimes want to fight fate. Sometimes they do not exactly fight it but it is a road filled with ups and downs because as in life most times it is not always instant meet than happy ever after. The worlds you will encounter with each author will melt your panties but leave you panting for more from each of them.
So step into the Dark see what the Fates have in store with each author, they each have their own style and flair that is so enjoyable and not to be missed. Received a arc for a honest review.

I really enjoyed every paranormal story in this wonderful anthology. I loved that even though some of these series I have not read, I did not feel lost! Each story drew me in and I enjoyed them all. Forbidden Rescue by Heather Long was a fantastic story featuring Jubilee and Fox. The chemistry between these two amazing characters was off the charts hot and I was fascinated by the Watcher's world and will be keeping an eye out for more books in this series. Another story that stood out for me was Ann Mayburn's Sangue Fever. This was one hot romance and I wanted more of Lisabetta and her sexy men. The story was fantastic and just drew me in from page one! I highly recommend this anthology to lovers of paranormal romance and fantastic story telling.

A Hunted Heart by Carrie Ann Ryan
Perfect ending to a much loved series. Seeing how everything turned out for both Em and Noah plus the rest of the gang was great! I'm happy with this ending and look forward to its spin-off, The Talon Pack. All the hard work they put in to help North, Em figuring out Noah is hers. It was a great story of love and family. Another great book by this amazing author!

Great book with great writer. Did originally buy it for Redwood Pack story.
Been Looking forward to this book since meeting Emeline in early books. From start Noah was perfect for Emeline and I loved that hidden emotions Emeline buried can't out full front with Noah. Great short book and HEA.
