It's almost Twilight Sparkle's birthday, and Spike wants to find a meaningful gift for his closest friend. When he comes to Canterlot to ask for Princess Celestia's help in procuring the perfect gift, the two of them end up going on an adventure that brings them closer together as friends.

This issue is too cute for words. I think there could have been more to the story, but hey, it's a short comic issue, and it's got a lot of the feel of the show. I LOVED the part when Celestia told Spike that while it was true that she could handle a lot of the things she had Twilight do, as a teacher, she was trying to help Twilight to grow, which she can't do if she sits there and does everything for her.

Naturally, since I love Princess Celestia, I love this issue, and she and Spike make a great team!

Got this as part of a Fun Pack I bought from Ota-Fest.

The concept of this is very cool, the side-kick and the teacher going on an adventure together. It was cool seeing their thoughts on their normally insipid lives.

Celestia and Spike is an interesting pairing that we've never seen before, and it also gives a bit of an explanation as to why Celestia didn't do shit when a bunch of villains attacked lol (she didn't want to because "well it's a teaching movement for Twilight!").

I also think it serves as an explanation for the telescope Twilight had in her library house, which is kinda neat.

I enjoyed this book with its wonderful storyline and beautiful illustrations. I read this to my granddaughter and then she had me reread it about 4 more times. So for me there is no higher praise than a book that piques a child's interest and has them smiling and retelling the story later to others.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via NETGALLEY.

This issue was not bad. Not as good as the previous one but definitely better than Friends Forever #1.

Spike comes to Princess Celestia because he wants to get Twilight a new telescope as a present. Celestia goes on a quest with him to get the lenses needed for the telescope.

Love this story. My favorite part was listening to Celestia talking about her reasons for leaving the mane six to solving all the issues and defeating the villains. It was really good, despite having Spike as a central focus.

Cute little story of Celestia and Spike going on an adventure to get Twilight her birthday present.
On a side note, I love how Starry Eyes's actually had stars in them.

This one focuses more on mixing up the main characters with some side characters we don't see in the show as much. It offers a lot of fun moments for both.
